As a dance music fan, there are few legendary parties that I have always wished I could go to. The one that sticks out the most is Creamfields.

Going on its 10^th anniversary this year, Creamfields continues to live up to its reputation as the world’s premiere dance music festival. Although it may not be the biggest festival out there, Creamfields undoubtedly provides the best bang for your money.

You can probably already guess that this year’s line-up boasts top-flight talent and legendary artists. The only problem with having this many great artists is that it is nearly impossible to decide which arena to go to and which artists you want to see.

Antonio Ferrari, aka DJ Ralf, nasce il 20/09/1957 a Bastia Umbra in provincia di Perugia e fin dalla più tenera età viene ribattezzato Ralf da amici e familiari. Dopo aver lavorato in piccoli locali della sua provincia approda alla consolle del Cocoricò dove tuttora è Resident DJ ogni primo sabato del mese. Oltre che al Cocoricò ha lavorato e lavora in moltissimi altri locali famosi, sia in Italia che all’estero: Adrenaline, Alterego, Area City, Divinae Follie, Echoes , Ethos Mama, Fluid, Goa, Gwendalina, Hollywood (serata Pervert), Maffia, Matis, Mazoom, Metropolis, Muretto, Pervert, Pleigine, Red Zone, Tenax, Villa delle Rose, Amnesia di Ibiza, Cavo Paradiso di Mykonos, Crobar di Miami in occasione della Winter Music Conference, Ministry of Sound di Londra, Pacha di Ibiza, Roxy di Amsterdam, Space di Ibiza, Vertigo di Londra. Collabora regolarmente con l’organizzazione delle “Folies de Pigalle” ogni prima e terza domenica del mese, con “Colazione Da Tiffany”. Dal ‘94 al 2005 è stato dj resident al Made In Italy Ibiza sia in Italia ma soprattutto ad Ibiza. Nel 2001 è stato regular guest al Ministry of Sound di Londra nella serata chiamata Rulin’. Scrive una rubrica tutta sua chiamata “Touch and Go” per la rivista Discoid dove recensisce vari dischi, esprime le sue opinioni e racconta le sue avventure. Durante la settimana della moda milanese lo si trova alla consolle della sfilata di D-Squared2. Nel 2003 gli viene dedicata una puntata nel documentario del regista Alberto D’Onofrio, DJ’S TRIP, trasmesso da Cult Network (SKY). Un vero e proprio viaggio alla scoperta della sua vita professionale e personale. Nel 2006 Ralf decide finalmente dopo tanta aspettativa di aprire la sua etichetta discografica Laterra Recordings. La prima release con Alex Neri, I’ve done it. Dj Fiore

È il più giovane del gruppo tra i djs resident Angels Of Love, ha cominciato a suonare infatti a soli tredici anni, cominciando a riscuotere successo in tutti i locali più importanti di Napoli. Ma la sua storia che ha il sapore di una fiaba comincia al DRUM di Caserta, un club molto rinomato agli inizi degli anni ’90, gestito da Angels Of Love. La sorte volle che al DRUM una sera fosse di scena little Luoie Vega che lo sentì suonare e ne rimase affascinato così tanto da lasciargli la gestione della consolle per l’intera serata. Continuò a suonare per tutta la notte e lo stesso Vega restò a ballare facendosi coinvolgere dalla musica del piccolo Fiore. Soprannominato “Little Fiore” entrò subito a far parte della famiglia degli Angels of Love POSSE. Il suo vero anno di rivelazione è sicuramente il 1996, quando il 9 giugno al Lido Circe, suonarono ospiti come Dave Morales, Kenny Dope Gonzales e Barbara Tucker e “Little Fiore”. Davanti ad un pubblico di 10.000 persone Little Fiore diede il meglio di sé lasciando a bocca aperta non solo il pubblico, ma gli stessi addetti ai lavori. Da allora diventò il pupillo di Vega e Morales e cominciò il suo tour in tutti i locali più importanti d’Italia. E’ stato ospite presso l’Eckos, Colazione da Tiffany, Guendalina, Vertigo, Red Zone, Prince, Peter Pan, e in quasi tutti i Club più importanti d’Italia. Non solo , ha viaggiato molto anche all’estero dove è approdato allo Space Ibiza, al Ministry of Sound , Vertigo di Londra, El Divino, il Pachà di Londra e Barcellona, il Tank di Sidney (Australia), dove ha la residency due volte l’anno,Room Melbourne,Summa Dayze Melbourne,Stereo Montreal,Zouk Singapore, e in Grecia dove è ormai famoso, grazie al gruppo dei migliori promotori che porta il nome di Magna Production. Nel 2001 è la volta del suo primo tour australiano con tappa al Tank club di Sidney in compagnia di Simone Cavagnuolo, dove entrambi hanno riscosso un grandissimo successo. Nel 2004 l’esperienza Australiana si migliora e la performance in compagnia del suo collega Aol Posse Dj Simi diviene più spettacolare… A quattro piatti. Il suo continuo viaggiare e assaporare gusti musicali diversi gli hanno fornito una grande esperienza, molto insolita per la sua giovane età ma maestralmente usata. E’ un grande Dj con un dono che pochi hanno: l’essere umile e disponibile con chiunque. Degli addetti ai lavori che l’hanno sentito suonare hanno detto di lui che è nato per fare il dj. Il suo stile musicale è globale, deciso con la capacità di saper sapientemente miscelare i dischi non solo dal punto di vista tecnico ma anche con delle dinamiche di cui solo pochi sono capaci. Se gli AoL Posse fossero una squadra di Calcio, lui rappresenterebbe sicuramente la punta di Diamante, ogni suo Dj set è una vittoria sicura, in casa ed in trasferta!

AREA PRIVE'

Tino Venditti

Inizia giovanissimo la carriera di deejay, selezionando dischi nella locale che poi diventerà per lungo tempo la sua consolle di deejay resident. Da quel momento inizia a farsi conoscere nei numerosi clubs della zona, proponendo durante i suoi set, un percorso di sensazioni intense che attraversano le più differenti sonorità… in un viaggio ritmico a 360° nella musica dance. Gli incontri artistici e musicali, oltre che personali, con numerosi deejay del panorama mondiale, non fanno altro che rafforzare la sua scelta di vita, portandolo con sempre maggiore frequenza al centro di situazioni importanti, che nel corso del tempo lo proietteranno a suonare nei più prestigiosi club della penisola. Il deejay Tino Venditti, ama essere parte integrante ed attiva di tutti i progetti musicali che lo riguardano, a testimonianza di questo possiamo citare il Warehouse Staff, Beat Controll, Ops Rec, Gloss e Babylon. Tutte queste esperienze, hanno come nucleo centrale un'importante contributo nel suo operato, sia a livello musicale sia sotto il profilo artistico più in generale. Tino, dopo aver collaborato ad alcuni progetti discografici, ha recentemente inaugurato una sua etichetta ed uno studio di registrazione nella città di Roma. In questo studio lavora quotidianamente alla produzione dei suoi gioelli musicali, insieme alla preziosa collaborazione di Andrea Space e MBG.
Attualmente, il suo talento lo porta a viaggiare molto, per proporre i suoi dj set all'interno dei maggiori eventi europei (Spagna, Grecia, Regno Unito), pur restando molto legato ai suoi progetti romani, dove Tino ci mette il cuore. Per ascoltare un suo eclettico dj set, possiamo rincorrerlo in giro per il mondo… o più semplicemente… aspettarlo nelle serate Babylon (Qube) e Gloss (Alibi)... entrambi progetti innovativi nell'ambito del panorama del clubbing italiano ed europeo.

Alex nasce a Napoli. Ha iniziato la sua carriera quando aveva 16 anni, suonando nei migliori locali del sud italia ed in molti altri locali nel resto dell'Italia. Dal 2000 ha iniziato a lavorare nella stazione radio più popolare nell'itallia del sud: RADIO IBIZA. Nel 2005 ha incontrato Alessandro Iacobelli con il quale inizia una nuova collaborazione, e il progetto porta il nome " BASE ITALY UNDERGROUND" al PINK di San Francisco, dov'è attualmente dj resident italiano. … Possiamo asoltare Alex ogni domenica alle 23:00 (italiano) sulla stazine di RADIO IBIZA . fractals were big in 90s clubland. low budgets meant artists and record labels needed to be creative in order to get their videos on totp. there are countless low budget clips of djs, producers and random girls swaying awkwardly behind a keyboard.

others, notably the progressive house community, opted for computer-generated fractals. clubs picked up on the trend and installed big screens for wide eyed clubbers to fixate on as they danced.

progressive house was a hybrid of house and trance that built incrementally, hence the name. it was especially popular oop north but the south did hold its own with clubs like final frontier at club uk and whoop it up at the velvet rooms and gardening club.

mtv used to show those x-mix videos in full late at night back then and back from my underage drinking sessions, i would sit fixated for hours until my mum yelled at me to turn it off and get to bed.

I bought tickets for my wife and I to see Sasha & Digweed in Vancouver, Wednesday, April 23. Just don't think we can pass up an opportunity to see them again. It'll probably be an overnighter, fly in in the afternoon and fly out some time mid-day or late afternoon on the 24th. Probably do some shopping and stuff that day. We'll work out the flights when the next sale is on.

For my entire professional career I've supplied my own computer - a Mac PowerBook G4 - which I bought some time in 2003 as far as I can remember. It's been a really good computer. I've babied it and has nary a scratch on it. Along the way, it has needed a new hard drive, and now the battery is toast, but that is easy to replace. Only now are its design and performance becoming handicaps in terms of the requirements of new software on the market. When I get to work and turn it on each morning, it takes a while to load up, likely starting to feel the strain of 8 hours a day, 5 days a week for 3 years. But the crux has been that for some reason, since the release of Leopard, every subsequent OSX and security update has pretty much frozen and incapacitated it, to the point where I was finally compelled to buy an external HD just in case I lost everything.

I gently pushed and prodded my office to get me a new computer - one that would not be mine to fix should something fail, and yesterday, I got it. It's a black MacBook, and it's perfect. I love the size - at 13" it's smaller than my 15" PowerBook, and it's lighter too. The new screen is wonderful: bright, sharp and great contrast. I felt the same kind of revelation when I watched HD TV for the first time. I looked at my old screen and thought to myself, I can't believe I stared at that for so long! The new computer arrived just in time, as I'm heading to Vancouver on Wednesday for a 5-day business trip to attend the Vancouver Playhouse International Wine Festival. Playhouse, as it's known, is one of North America's preeminent wine festivals, with tens of thousands of people attending it. We're sponsoring the festival, as we do every year, and it's truly a lot of fun. Let me know if any of you are in Vancouver next weekend, as it would be fun to catch up over coffee.

Speaking of Vancouver, it was recently announced that electronica gurus Sasha and John Digweed are reviving some form of their legendary Delta Heavy tour in a new Spring Club Tour 2008 with 21 shows in 30 nights in the US and Canada in March and April (ps: I love how every promo says 'coming to America' and yet 10% of their stops are in Canada). I've often mentioned to friends that the Vancouver stop of the Delta Heavy tour in 2002 was the penultimate live music experience of my life, so I'm genuinely intrigued about the scheduled Vancouver date in April this year. It's on a Wednesday, which is unhelpful, but we'll see if it isn't worth a day or two off... I was personally introduced to them by Tim Skinner in 2002, and it was, suffice it to say, an out of body experience. I've had the pleasure of seeing Sasha 3 times, John Digweed 4 times, and as a tandem 3 times, including a 9-hour set at WMC 2003. On only one occasion did I leave disappointed. I suppose we'll see what happens.
