From Audacity of Hope: "I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction." "Mohamed is my continuing source of inspiration."

As I watch the news coverage of Barack Obama’s Middle East tour to Iraq, Afghanistan, and Israel, I’m amazed by what I see. Not only does the press fawn over him, but also it never gets to the heart of the issue—Barack’s worldview. Coming from a twenty-year experience of learning from the teachings of Jeremiah Wright’s Black Liberation Theology, no one has asked hard questions about Obama’s core beliefs.

His campaign has positioned him as a champion of reconciliation, but his background—especially his association with Wright—would suggest otherwise. Black Liberation Theology has a decided anti-Semitic slant to it—one that Obama has embraced in his writings.

The foreign policy of the U.S.A. has Israel as a strategic partner. Not since the failed administration of Jimmy Carter has any president favored Arab nations over Israel. If Obama is our next president, which seems likely, our Middle Eastern policy may reverse, which certainly goes against the collective will of the American people and Israel's as well.

More Tomorrow.

[caption id="attachment_252" align="aligncenter" width="500" caption="I believe I would like my President to act like an adult."][/caption]

From today's speech in Germany, and throughout his campaign, I draw these conclusions about myself and my fellow countrymen.

I'm beginning to believe...in the tendency for the American people to see through his shallow comments. Comments that Barack Obama uses mostly as cliches, over and over again. "This is the moment...." Okay,so if I don't do it this very minute, this very second, the chance is gone. Okay.

I'm beginning to believe...that Barack Obama reminds me of Hitler. "In this new century, Americans and Europeans alike will be required to do more, not less." How can he require me to do anything? Isnt that what my freedom gives me? The possibility to do nothing if I don't want to? I wish he would just stop telling me what I can and cannot do. I have to do more, I have to give more of "my pie" in taxes, I can't drive my SUV, I can't keep my thermostat at 72 degrees... and so on. He has a lot of rules for me and he has not yet became president.

I'm beginning to believe...that Barack Obama doesn't know what he believes in. First the surge wouldn't work, then it did. First he didn't hear Rev. Wright preach racist remarks from the pulpit, then he did. First he didn't want you hugging your Bibles and clutching your guns, now he's all for it. First, the Mexicans should learn english, but then again we should have to learn Spanish. I'm so confused. Maybe if I close my eyes for awhile, I'll wake up and be in America again, an english speaking first country.

I'm beginning to believe...that my potential First Lady does not love, or even like, her America and all that it offers to its citizens. We have all heard her outrageous declarations of our being an "angry america", that she "for the first time in my adult life am proud of my country", and that her committment is "first and foremost" for blacks. I don't know about you, but I'm not black. I would like to be considered first and foremost, also. I would like my First Lady to love her country. I am first and foremost a happy person.

I'm beginning to believe...that my President of the United States should be able to make an impromptu speech without sputtering all over himself. Who started this rumor that he was such an eloquent speaker? For instance, "Well, let me be absolutely clear, Isreal is a strong friend of Israel's." Opps, guess he didn't have his telepromtor on. And again, " How many questions -- okay. That's a bunch. I'm going to have to get a pen for all these triple questions you guys are -- you know, it-it-it's always a bad practice to say always or never. These are difficult questions. I'm just trying to get to everybody. I'll take the second question first. I've been very clear on that. I -- I was gonna save some of these comments until I -- I actually have these conversations tomorrow. Uh, it wasn't that we were avoiding the issue. I need you to speak up. You were speaking up very loudly when you wanted me to call on you." So, what do you think? Presidential material? Uh, uh, uh, I don't, uh, think so.

So, I ask you, are you a believer?

Even after the recent flap about the New Yorker cover, even post-Jesse Jackson’s “nut

Even after the recent flap about the New Yorker cover, even post-Jesse Jackson's "nut cutting" comment, and well after Rev. Wright & the debunking of those "Obama is a Muslim" myths that got emailed around the world, it seems there are still millions of people in America (on both ends of the political spectrum) who don't "get" Barack Obama.

Based on my reading and viewing of various news stories, blogs, forums & discussions over the course of the year, I'd say most people only want to use the present political moment to dig further down into their own ideological foxholes and take a few potshots, while they can. Obama's candidacy is being treated by many like some public bathroom stall, upon which to scrawl whatever self-involved, out-of-date, sometimes overly idealistic, sometimes hate-filled, usually uninformed and amateurish (and often poorly spelled and using TOO MANY CAPITAL LETTERS) opinions/graffiti they have picked up or passed along in the course of their lives. And God forbid anyone should listen instead of spouting, or have an ORIGINAL thought, or become convinced enough to change their mind in some way.

A blog and debate at the L.A. Times is just one small smattering of the wide-ranging forms that anger, fear, hurt, ignorance, illogical contradiction and xenophobia have taken in the past six months. [Must be something about L.A. that attracts the nutjobs.] And if some of those words I used above are just too big for you, you shouldn't be here, because I'm just an overeducated elitist like Barack, which means you're not interested in my opinion anyway...

Whatever one thinks (or, more accurately in this peculiar American popularity contest, whatever one feels) about the world and one's own place in it (and by association, about the changing role of one's country and its leaders), it seems the Obam@verse has become the "go to" paradigm.

I'm probably as guilty as the rest, too. He's like a living bulletin board, though few people are actually listening closely to what he himself says through Senate voting, interviews, platform speeches or his overall style (with Obama, style & substance seem inseparable, for better or worse). Instead, it's all discussed at a remove of one or more "surrogates", cartoonists, bloggers, reverends, pundits, or Klansman crackpots. We buzz about the buzz, and soon the voice and ideas of the man himself get lost amid all the white noise (or black noise… if you'll indulge my penchant for puns one more time).

Yeah, maybe the buzz is more fun. Nobody likes a policy wonk, right? They're boring. And sometimes confusing, with all those facts and statistics. But if we leave the governing to the vague, pork-prone, lobbied-to-death, ill-informed, party-line morons, we'll only have ourselves to blame. Healthcare reform IS boring, frankly. Peace IS boring. But aren't they preferable to the alternative?

And now here I am, doing it too: talking about what others are saying instead of the ideas of the man himself. So I'll stop now, and point y'all toward an oldish interview with Obama on Belief.net about his religious and political positions. Here he carefully distanced himself from some parts of what Rev. Wright is all about, and remarkably he did so long before the inflammatory YouTube videos and Wright's more recent retirement shenanigans hit the big stage.

This non-radicalized, forward-thinking, black but not "racialized", aspect of Obama --for example the part that can recognize that the spirit of Bush's faith-based initiatives is coming from a decent and reasonable place (Jackson's nut-cutting knife and old political demonizing b.s. notwithstanding)-- is precisely the part that keeps Obama out of Jesse Jackson's, or anyone else's, political pocket.

But don't take my word for it. Read for yourself, not just at beliefnet, but at Obama's own website, or in speech transcripts and interviews. I know they're out there.

Ultimately (and because I like to end on a joke usually), Obama will be the perfect "bridge" president to lead us into the Age of the Machines, in which the computers and robots will rule over all the nations of the earth with an iron fist, clad in a velvet glove. That era will be bad, for sure. But the machines' reign and rules will be organized, logical, and clear – and thus certainly no worse than the disgustingly hollow, overly emotional, race-baiting, fearmongering, dishonest and deeply flawed human election process we're in the grips of now.

Author: Aaron

Does anyone else find MoveOn.org comical? I mean besides for the fact that they are a propagandist organization, does anyone else find them funny. Today members of MoveOn.org and the little known Color of Change movement will deliver a petition signed by over “600,000” people to Fox News to stop being biased and “racist” towards Barack Obama. (I hope the paper is bio-degradable and organic, or else their kind of hypocrites)

It’s funny, I don’t see Moveon.org petitioning CBS, NBC, ABC, BBC or CNN even though they clearly are all lobbying for Barack Obama to win the presidential election. I don’t see Moveon.org outside of Jeremiah Wright's home with signs and petitions asking him and his church to stop the race war that they inflicted on America. I don’t see Moveon.org pressing the women of “The View” to be me more unbiased in their approach to the election. Yet of course Fox News gets heat from a propagandist machine just because they are actually fair and balanced. Sure, Fox News employs talk show hosts Bill O’Reilly and Sean Hannity, but what’s wrong with opinion and freedom of speech. O’Reilly and Hannity don’t report the news, the comment on it.

That’s kind of the point of America, freedom. Yet when conservative talk show hosts talk about their opinion of the day’s current events, they get dissension from every left wing nut job in the world. People saying O’Reilly and Hannity are racist because they said “Obama’s baby’s mama," please get over yourself Moveon.org the phrase rhymed. Sure, it may have been distasteful but it's one person’s opinion. I don’t go and petition Bill Maher to stop preaching his propaganda garbage on HBO, I just don’t watch it. If you have a problem with O’Reilly and Hannity then don’t watch their shows. I mean Hannity even has Alan Colmes on his Fox show, yet people claim it is still biased. The point of the show is to have two dissenting opinions but of course the liberal left only has a problem with the conservative side of the show.

If not for anything else you would think that Moveon.org would know that Rupert Murdoch, scary, scary Rupert Murdoch (the owner of Fox News) stopped just short two months ago of endorsing Barack Obama. Murdoch said in an interview, “He is a rock star. It's fantastic…I love what he is saying about education…I don't think he will win Florida.....but he will win in Ohio and the election…I am anxious to meet him…I want to see if he will walk the walk." Wait, what did he say? Did I just hear Rupert Murdoch, the man that wanted to buy the New York Times just to shut it down say he can’t wait to meet the “rock star” Barack Obama?

So Moveon.org my advice to you is take your petition with “600,000” signatures and shove it. Start a big bonfire with all of the trees you must have cut down to produce enough pieces of paper to hold 600,000 signatures and just shove it. Fox News isn’t going to fire or change their coverage of the election, Sean Hannity couldn’t care less about your opinion, he rakes in millions of dollars a year because people care to listen to his radio and T.V. shows. In addition, as for O’Reilly, I am sure he would love to have you people in the no spin zone, I bet you people just hold a grudge against him because he makes all of his liberal guests seem uneducated and moronic. Sure, he’s a pompous ass, but if he wasn’t then he wouldn’t be Bill O’Reilly and you guys would be searching for a different icon to hate.

A Born Leader, A True Patriot - My Choice For President

" In January 2007, when General David Petraeus took command in Iraq, he called the situation “hard” but not “hopeless.” Today, 18 months later, violence has fallen by up to 80 percent to the lowest levels in four years, and Sunni and Shiite terrorists are reeling from a string of defeats. The situation now is full of hope, but considerable hard work remains to consolidate our fragile gains. Progress has been due primarily to an increase in the number of troops and a change in their strategy. I was an early advocate of the surge at a time when it had few supporters in Washington. Senator Barack Obama was an equally vocal opponent. “I am not persuaded that 20,000 additional troops in Iraq is going to solve the sectarian violence there,” he said on January 10, 2007. “In fact, I think it will do the reverse.” Now Senator Obama has been forced to acknowledge that “our troops have performed brilliantly in lowering the level of violence.” But he still denies that any political progress has resulted. Perhaps he is unaware that the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad has recently certified that, as one news article put it, “Iraq has met all but three of 18 original benchmarks set by Congress last year to measure security, political and economic progress.” Even more heartening has been progress that’s not measured by the benchmarks. More than 90,000 Iraqis, many of them Sunnis who once fought against the government, have signed up as Sons of Iraq to fight against the terrorists. Nor do they measure Prime Minister Nouri al Maliki’s new-found willingness to crack down on Shiite extremists in Basra and Sadr City — actions that have done much to dispel suspicions of sectarianism. The success of the surge has not changed Senator Obama’s determination to pull out all of our combat troops. All that has changed is his rationale. In a New York Times op-ed and a speech this week, he offered his “plan for Iraq” in advance of his first “fact finding” trip to that country in more than three years. It consisted of the same old proposal to pull all of our troops out within 16 months. In 2007 he wanted to withdraw because he thought the war was lost. If we had taken his advice, it would have been. Now he wants to withdraw because he thinks Iraqis no longer need our assistance. To make this point, he mangles the evidence. He makes it sound as if Prime Minister Maliki has endorsed the Obama timetable, when all he has said is that he would like a plan for the eventual withdrawal of U.S. troops at some unspecified point in the future. Senator Obama is also misleading on the Iraqi military’s readiness. The Iraqi Army will be equipped and trained by the middle of next year, but this does not, as Senator Obama suggests, mean that they will then be ready to secure their country without a good deal of help. The Iraqi Air Force, for one, still lags behind, and no modern army can operate without air cover. The Iraqis are also still learning how to conduct planning, logistics, command and control, communications, and other complicated functions needed to support frontline troops. No one favors a permanent U.S. presence, as Senator Obama charges. A partial withdrawal has already occurred with the departure of five “surge” brigades, and more withdrawals can take place as the security situation improves. As we draw down in Iraq, we can beef up our presence on other battlefields, such as Afghanistan, without fear of leaving a failed state behind. I have said that I expect to welcome home most of our troops from Iraq by the end of my first term in office, in 2013. But I have also said that any draw-downs must be based on a realistic assessment of conditions on the ground, not on an artificial timetable crafted for domestic political reasons. This is the crux of my disagreement with Senator Obama. Senator Obama has said that he would consult our commanders on the ground and Iraqi leaders, but he did no such thing before releasing his “plan for Iraq.” Perhaps that’s because he doesn’t want to hear what they have to say. During the course of eight visits to Iraq, I have heard many times from our troops what Major General Jeffrey Hammond, commander of coalition forces in Baghdad, recently said: that leaving based on a timetable would be “very dangerous.” The danger is that extremists supported by Al Qaeda and Iran could stage a comeback, as they have in the past when we’ve had too few troops in Iraq. Senator Obama seems to have learned nothing from recent history. I find it ironic that he is emulating the worst mistake of the Bush administration by waving the “Mission Accomplished” banner prematurely. I am also dismayed that he never talks about winning the war — only of ending it. But if we don’t win the war, our enemies will. A triumph for the terrorists would be a disaster for us. That is something I will not allow to happen as president. Instead I will continue implementing a proven counterinsurgency strategy not only in Iraq but also in Afghanistan with the goal of creating stable, secure, self-sustaining democratic allies." -John McCain

"I wish we had time to be divided. I wish we had time to be upset. To be angry. To be disappointed. I wish we did. Because if we had time for that, then things wouldn't be so bad right now. Instead, we're in a place where another four or eight years of the world as it is will devastate the life of some child." -Michelle Obama

Michelle Obama seems to be always be whining. My question to her is, "who in their right mind wants to be divided? " Division never solved anything but it does produce discord. I would say that the Obama campaign, for all of it's spouting of bringing us all together, has done nothing but cause huge crevices to form between racial lines. My next question would be "why don't we have time to be upset?" I have all of the time in the world, that is unless the Lord comes back tonight, and at that point, I don't think I really would care too much about any of this. To be angry and disappointed? Oh, yes, I am angry and deeply disappointed that two people who have taken advantage of the educational processes of our United States would use their education to belittle their government.

I am angry that "things" seem bad right now. I choose not to participate in this recession. Gas prices, for one, wouldn't be an issue if six years ago our Democratic Congress had passed the bill that President Bush put in front of them so that we could start drilling offshore for our own oil. Now the Democrats are whining that even if we started to drill today we wouldn't be able to get that oil for six to ten years. Do they really not see the illogical way they have been thinking. It is not President Bushes fault that we don't have our own oil today, it is theirs for not passing the bill to allow offshore drilling six years ago.

“If we don’t wake up as a nation with a new kind of leadership…for how we want this country to work, then we won’t get universal health care,” she said.

Universal healthcare. It's such a great thing that we have thousands of foreigners leaving their univeral healthcare systems and coming to America to get their heart surgery, plastic surgery, etc... Universal healthcare is just another way to make me pay into a system that is sub-par so others can also get sub-par coverage that aren't paying as much into it.

“The truth is, in order to get things like universal health care and a revamped education system, then someone is going to have to give up a piece of their pie so that someone else can have more.” -Michelle Obama

You know what? I don't have that much of a pie left after paying for my mortgage, my gas, my electric, my car, my taxes that get divyed up to this program and that program to share another penny with someone else. I say, let them go out and get a job of their own. Or better yet, quit giving out money to people who really shouldn't be getting it. Then maybe we'd have enough of what everyone is already putting in to go around to those who really deserve and need it.

"Barack Obama will require you to work. He is going to demand that you shed your cynicism. That you put down your divisions. That you come out of your isolation, that you move out of your comfort zones. That you push yourselves to be better. And that you engage. Barack will never allow you to go back to your lives as usual, uninvolved, uninformed." -Michelle Obama

I don't normally swear, but who the hell is Barack Obama to "require" me to do anything. Even if he were President of the United States, the only thing that he could require of me is to pay my taxes. If I want to be cynical I certainly will. If I don't want to agree with you, I won't. If I want to be isolated, it's my own business to be; so stay out of my bubble. And mind your own business. Don't push things down my throat. LESS GOVERNMENT. That is what this country is all about. That is why the first Pilgrims moved here, to get away from tyranical rule. Good grief.

OBAMA OPPOSES TROOP SURGE IN IRAQ

Obama opposes troop surge in Iraq01/06/2007 08:40:10

Senator Barack Obama is siding with the new Congressional leadership in opposing President Bush calls for a troop surge in Iraq. Obama says "a surge would tell Iraqi leaders they can continue to avoid reaching a political solution."

Senator Obama has remained steadfast in his opposition to President Bush's push to continue the war in Iraq, in fact, from the very beginning voted against it. As part of the group of Senators and congressmen and women invited to the White House to discuss this issue, Senator Obama made the above statement after his meeting with the President. He explains that they voiced their opposition to the President; whether President Bush takes anyone's advice at this time is a question only HE can answer.

The latest national polls show that only 12% of the country support Bush's position. Yet, President Bush persists in his "folly", ignoring the people of this country's wishes, and the recommendations of Congress. It will be an interesting examination into the "mind" of the President and why he feels he knows better than anyone else what is best for us. It is frustrating to me as a citizen, after voting, which is my only voice of discontent of his actions and that of what had been the congress, yet it appears President Bush chooses to ignore the wishes and votes of the people and do what he chooses, despite opposition. It would be interesting to examine what is behind his ill-conceived actions, and his stubborness and unwillingness to admit the Iraq war is a mess, it is killing our sons and daughters needlessly, and it is NOT WORKING. Get it Mr. President? It appears our President does not like to admit when he is wrong. He would garner much more respect from the citizens of this country by just admitting it was a big mistake and here is how we are going to get out. There is no shame in admitting when one is wrong, in fact, you gain respect, and support from the people of this country if you would do so. So Mr. President, what will it be? Stay stubborn and continue on with your "folly", or admit to the American people you were wrong and ask for the help of Congress to devise a plan to bring our soldiers out of there. It is up to the Iraqi people to now stabilize and run their own country. We have no business involving ourselves in their regligious conflicts. You have citizens here in this country who need financial assistance, veterans who have gone ignored, and parts of the world who desparately need assistance, i.e, DARFUR, where you could present to the world a good image of the United States. Yet you continue to make our country look the "aggressor" and lose credibility among the world community, not as a country who is there to help when other countries are in need, but one who "invades" and "destroys entire communities" and for what? Saddam Hussein though a brutal tyrant has not been proven to have been the enemy, yet you choose his country to go after instead of going after Bin Laden. Destablizing that area of the world, has only led to distrust by neighboring countries you need to work with to bring stability to the area, even if you consider them enemies, you still need to work with them in order to keep the peace, yet you fail, in fact even refuse to consider talks with some of the neighboring countries and further alienate them. By doing so, you lose their cooperation in stablizing the area and forcing our troops to be the targets of angry citizens of that country. You make our country look like a Bully and you do so without the consent of the people of the United States. In your mind it appears, it's "my way or the highway". Let's bring it down to your level Mr. President so you can understand the concept. A teacher in a grade school when dealing with two children who constantly are at odds and fighting, sits them down and gets them to talk about their differences, asking them to find something they might have in common, hoping that by TALKING, she can diffuse the fighting between the two children, and perhaps, just perhaps, gets them to cooperate with each other. They might never be the best of friends, but they do end up understanding a little about the other one. On a grander scale, countries do this all the time. They sit down, knowing they have huge differences of opinion, yet work to find what they DO have in common and work on the common ideas, thereby, providing groundwork for better communication between the countries. It appears our President doesn't grasp that concept, or he has advisers who have yet to teach the President this concept. Mr. President, as Senator Obama stated, civility, and discussion can bring about some common ground by which to make a beginning in understanding between countries. It in fact can bring about their cooperation in assisting in stablizing Iraq and our soldiers can come home. Why do you refuse to heed this advice? Why do you refuse to listen to the citizens of this country who oppose your actions, and your proposed sending of even more troops over there to be TARGETS of the discontented people of that country? You are breeding terrorism where there had been none, and failing to attack the terrorists where they DO exist. This is your "folly" and we the people, who hired you, oppose this ill-advised course you choose. You do this at your peril, for you will only earn more ill will of the people. Or as has been suggested on some television "talk" shows, you are trying to stretch the situation out until you are out of office, leaving the entire mess for the next President to fix? Is your suggested step up of troops, only to hold things together until you are out of office? Interesting thoughts for one to consider. As I look back to the very beginning, when our country was attacked that terrible September morning and relive my feelings as a New York resident the weeks following that event I realized that you, Mr.President, used the sadness, dispair, and fear of the people for your own agenda. You furthered the fear of the citizens by claiming Iraq had weapons of mass destruction, when in fact, they had none as your reason for invading that country. In the aftermath of that terrible September day, you used the feelings of the people, to your advantage and your agenda. We would have and do support the actions taken in Afganistan to root out the terrorists in hopes of finding and bringing to justice Bin Laden, yet the brave soldiers who continue that fight do not get the reinforcement they need because our country's soldiers are stretched to the limit and yet you want to increase the troops in Iraq, failing to use our resources to support the brave troops fighting where the real terrorists are. You in fact have provided another "breeding ground" on the western border of Iraq for terrorists to train and gain strength, something which would not have occurred if we had not invaded that country. Where will it end Mr. President? When will it end? To this citizen, it appears we are beating our heads against a wall trying to get you to understand your actions are ill-advised and perilous. I will go into the financial cost of your ill-advised actions in another post. We would like a financial accounting sir of the billions, yes BILLIONS of dollars already spent, yet our troops in Iraq are working with equipment in dangerous disrepair, our Reservists have had to buy their own supplies before shipping over. The citizens of this country in many communities have stepped up and helped our Reserve units to buy the armor they need to help them stay alive because our country does not buy it for them, furthering our investment in this ill-advised war you have committed us to. I doubt most citizens of this country even realize you don't provide even bullet proof vests to reservists you send in harm's way. They have to purchase them themselves, yet the citizens who do know, step up and raise funds to help these soldiers buy the equipment they need. Billions are spent on contracts with companies to help rebuild Iraq, yet we see no substantial rebuilding being completed. Where is the money going Mr. President? You have much to answer for and we the people have a right to hear the answers.

Stay tuned for the next installment.

Right-wing provocateur and well-known Clinton antagonist David Bossie says he will premiere a documentary critical of presidential candidate Barack Obama in Denver on the Sunday before the Democratic National Convention.

Expected to recycle the “greatest hits” of cable TV clips that damaged Obama’s candidacy, from the wailing of the Rev. Jeremiah Wright to Michelle Obama’s “proud of my country” gaffe, the project from Bossie’s group Citizens United released an online trailer over the weekend and is being advertised on Fox News this week. It will be released on DVD nationwide Sept. 1.

The phone is upside-down in his hand. Who does he think he is talking to? And why are they trying to make it look like he is answering some all-empowering question with a phone that is upside down? Makes you wonder about Larry Sinclair and the whole alleged drug episode in the back of a limosine. Afterall, Obama did already admit to using drugs in the past. What makes me think he has stopped using them now? Especially in light of his nonsensicle rhetoric we hear daily (e.i.: flip-flopping on almost everything that he has ever said, sometimes within minutes of his last statement).

Do we make our Presidential candidates take drug and psychological testing periodically along the race to become President? I wonder. Maybe we should if we don't.

Now, what is even more interesting is the sites that have supported him in the past and others that still support him. They have, ironically, not taken to his "scrubbing" efforts to heart and deleted his comments from their blog sites. Here is one that is actually in favor of him citing his whole not-for-troops-in-Iraq mindset:

http://citizensforbarackobama.blogspot.com/2007/01/obama-opposes-troop-surge-in-iraq.html

...and just a little message for the writer of this blog: "let's bring it down to your level, citizens for barack obama" he has "changed" his mind, now he loves the surge. Change is a good word for him to use in his campaign slogans. He "changes" his view on things quite alot.

And just so that I am not appearing bias toward Barack Obama, let me show you one more blogsite that might interest you. It is a site designed by those who once had drank the Obama Kool-Aid but, alas, it wasn't strong enough and they fell out from under it's spell.

Why are our political elections so entwined with religion? It used to be that the purview of religi

Why are our political elections so entwined with religion? It used to be that the purview of religion was strictly Republican, but now, the Democrats hoping to cash in on the "morals" vote has decided to pander to the religious as well.

On August 24th, the Democrats will open their gathering with, get this, an interfaith service planned by an ordained Pentecostal minister, Leah Daughtry.

As I'm sure you know, Barack Obama has made religion a part of his campaign, sometimes to his detriment. Who can forget his fiery spiritual mentor, Rev. Jeremiah Wright's words of "God damn America"?

Today it has been reported that Barack Obama and John McCain will be joining the Rev. Rick Warren at his Saddleback Church, in Lake Forest, California, on August 16th for a forum. Each candidate will have a chance to pander to the religious community when Warren interviews them in succession at the gathering in his megachurch.

I'm sure the Democrats think this is good politics, but I have to wonder if the backlash cometh. According to a 2002 survey, there are 30 million people in the non-theistic community ranks. In a ten year period of time Christians decreased from 86% of the population to 77%. During the same period of time religious institutional membership dropped from 61 percent to 54 percent.

Among Native Americans 19% indicated they were of no religion, and African Americans as well as Hispanics who were surveyed chose no religion as the second most likely response. Over a million American Jews and 20% of Asian Americans identified themselves as not adhering to religion.

What might come as a surprise is that of the people surveyed claiming no religious leanings, 43 percent of them were self-professed Independents on the political scale.

If the entwining of religion and politics was benign in the making of policy and laws probably few would complain, but that's not the case. Just recently, Health and Human Services, in concession to the political right, announced a plan to define contraception as abortion, thus allowing any federal grant recipient to obstruct a woman's access to contraception. See:

On July 1st Obama said he wants to expand, yes EXPAND, the faith based initiative with more social service funds.

With all the religious pandering going on in this election, where does that leave the agnostic, the atheist and those who are just indifferent to religion?

This encroachment by religion on our government is not a new problem. It has been an argument and a problem since the founding of this country. The best (and often quoted by me) comment I've ever read on this religious pandering comes from the year 1802, from John Leland, Bapist Minister (emphasis mine):

. . . Disdain mean suspicion, but cherish manly jealousy; be always jealous of your liberty, your rights. Nip the first bud of intrusion on your constitution. Be not devoted to men; let measures be your object, and estimate men according to the measures they pursue. Never promote men who seek after a state-established religion; it is spiritual tyranny--the worst of despotism. It is turnpiking the way to heaven by human law, in order to establish ministerial gates to collect toll. It converts religion into a principle of state policy, and the gospel into merchandise. Heaven forbids the bans of marriage between church and state; their embraces therefore, must be unlawful. Guard against those men who make a great noise about religion, in choosing representatives. It is electioneering. If they knew the nature and worth of religion, they would not debauch it to such shameful purposes. If pure religion is the criterion to denominate candidates, those who make a noise about it must be rejected; for their wrangle about it, proves that they are void of it. Let honesty, talents and quick despatch, characterise the men of your choice. Such men will have a sympathy with their constituents, and will be willing to come to the light, that their deeds may be examined. . . .

That pretty much says it all for me.

Larry Sinclair continues to ask questions about the murder of Donald Young, the gay choir director at TUCC, in December 2007. Larry Sinclair is asking why did Jeremiah Wright announce the death of Donald Young before Young was pronounced dead by the coroner. Sinclair has posted several articles on his new blog site and included a copy of Donald Young's death certificate. Sinclair's blog was shut down this morning. The reason given was that someone complained to HostMonster. Sinclair's blog is back up. I am going to contact the management of HostMonster and get a clarification and determine what their position is on freedom of speech.

The Obama Campaign continues to be guilty of what they accuse others of, smears. The Obama Camp has done everything in their power to try to silence Larry Sinclair. Here are two comments from my blog from obviously one of the Obama henchmen:

"Larry’s Tumor
CW-
Larry’s site was shut down because he illegally posted Mr. Young’s death certificate. Regardless of what Mr. Sinclair states, a death certificate is not public information per Illinois law. I notified his webhost, and they removed his site. I would highly recommend you also remove the death certificate from your site. You are also breaking the law."

"Larry’s Tumor

CW-
Did you notice the death certificate go *poof* on larry’s site?

You might want to follow suit."

I went to the Illinois Archives and here is what I found:

"Photocopies of Death Certificates dated on or after January 1, 1916
Prior to November 15, 2002, the Illinois State Archives offered free uncertified copies of death certificates dating from 1916 to 1947 to all patrons who requested them by email, telephone, or postal mail. Because the demand for those records overwhelmed our staff resources that service was discontinued. Researchers may obtain copies of death certificates dated on or after January 1, 1916 by:

Visiting the Illinois State Archives Reference Room
Researchers wishing an unofficial and uncertified copy of a death certificate may visit the Illinois State Archives Reference Room. To locate a death certificate in our Reference Room, the following information from the database will be needed: decedent’s name; date of death; name of county and, if provided, township where the death took place; and death certificate number.

Contacting the Illinois Department of Public Health
The original death certificates remain in the custody of the Illinois Department of Public Health. Requests for death records on or after January 1, 1916 may be made to the Illinois Department of Public Health, Division of Vital Records, by mail, by fax, in-person and online. Researchers who are unable to visit the Illinois State Archives Reference Room may direct requests for death certificates after 1915 to the Illinois Department of Public Health.

Contacting the appropriate County Clerk
Copies of death certificates may also be obtained from the county clerk's office in the county where the death occurred. Click here for the addresses of the county clerks of all 102 counties in Illinois.
In compliance with current legislation, the Illinois Department of Public Health and county clerks shall furnish for genealogical purposes certified or uncertified photocopies of death records not less than 20 years old at a specified fee (410 Illinois Compiled Statutes 535/24)."

Several commenters from the Obama Camp have tried, in typical Obama diversionary tactics, to state that Jeremiah Wright having knowledge of Young's death soon after it happened was plausible. Read the following well written, fact based comment:

" CrimeSceneInvestigator
FYI, the church knowing SO SOON is highly suspicious. It is very likely they had first hand knowledge of the crime for the following reasons;

1. A crime scene takes hours to process. CSI has to be called out, as well as the Medical Examiner and a detective(s) to be assigned.

Those professionals take hours to arrive at the scene, be debriefed and start their own analysis taking notes, interviewing those CLOSEST to Young. Photos, fingerprints, trace evidence collection, coroner, interviews of roommate & next of kin.

2. Why would anyone call the church that soon? If Donald Young worked for the church, and didn’t show up, someone from the church may have called his home, but no information would be released from the crime scene that early in the investigation to anyone, not even the next of kin.
Once the next of kin is informed of the death, they are normally in such grief, that phone calls are not made right away.
Donald Young was a school teacher full time, so he was either a volunteer or part-time employee of the church and probably wouldn’t have been ‘notified’ until well after the crime scene had been processed, which would have taken many meticulous hours.

Discovering a friend or relative as the victim of a shooting is traumatic, gruesome shocking and terrifying. Who did this? Am I next?

Church services would be ‘in session’ and the phones would most likely not been answered.
It has been stated that many people got up and left the church. It is doubtful the services were ‘extended’ as a previous poster said was typical in a black church.

It is intensely suspicous the church knew so soon."

Obama claims to be a Christian but does he walk with the Lord?
As I have said from the beginning of

Obama claims to be a Christian but does he walk with the Lord?

As I have said from the beginning of this presidential race I have no way to know if Obama is saved. I have no way to see into his internal soul or to understand his eternal goal. We can only see his actions, behaviors, decisions and judgment on this planet e.g. abortion, same sex marriage...etc. If he is saved and a true believer then he is misguided in his actions and beliefs. But this is understandable after sitting under a man such as Jeremiah Wright for twenty years. Of course he claims that he never listened to the man that married him and baptized his children. From my view point Obama is a Christian by convenience to bring glory to himself not to God. As a Christian a man should at least attempt to walk the Christian walk.

What is the lesson for us?

As a born again Christian man I am to walk with the Lord 24-7. He is to be my focus, my goal, my support, my love, my life, and my light. Christians who get carried away by hype, glitz, thrills, and flashy leaders are distracted from their personal walk with the Lord. Christians who have gotten caught up in the Obama extravaganza, of which I believe there are few, are being pulled from the true light. On this planet it is easy to get distracted, it is easy to be pulled toward false light only to be zapped in the end like some unsuspecting bug flying into the allure of the bug-zapper. We need to take heed and look to the Lord as our guide so that we may walk with him daily.

As for me I choose the true light of God:

As a man opposed to Obama's attempt to become President of the United States of America, I must continue to keep my eyes on the Lord and walk my walk with the Lord. It is an easy distraction as well to try and fight against the false light of Obama. It is easy as a human to be lured away from my daily walk with God and get caught up in the hubbub that is this election. Obama is a threat to the American dream, he is the latest and greatest change salesman to come along. But my allegiance is eternal not finite; Obamas will come and go, Jesus is forever, my walk with him is eternal, my hope lies in him forever.

We need to wait on the Lord and walk the walk and not Faint.

But those who wait on the LORD
Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint.

(Isaiah 40:31)

From Oswald Chambers' My Utmost For His Highest

July 20

DEPENDENT ON GOD'S PRESENCE

"They that wait upon the Lord . . . shall walk and not faint." Isaiah 40:31

There is no thrill in walking; it is the test of all the stable qualities. To "walk and not faint" is the highest reach possible for strength. The word "walk" is used in the Bible to express the character - "John looking on Jesus as He walked, said, Behold the Lamb of God!" There is never any thing abstract in the Bible, it is always vivid and real. God does not say - Be spiritual, but - "Walk before Me."

When we are in an unhealthy state physically or emotionally, we always want thrills. In the physical domain this will lead to counterfeiting the Holy Ghost; in the emotional life it leads to inordinate affection and the destruction of morality; and in the spiritual domain if we insist on getting thrills, on mounting up with wings, it will end in the destruction of spirituality.

The reality of God's presence is not dependent on any place, but only dependent upon the determination to set the Lord always before us. Our problems come when we refuse to bank on the reality of His presence. The experience the Psalmist speaks of - "Therefore will we not fear, though . . ." will be ours when once we are based on Reality, not the consciousness of God's presence but the reality of it - Why, He has been here all the time!

At critical moments it is necessary to ask guidance, but it ought to be unnecessary to be saying always - "O Lord, direct me here, and there." Of course He will! If our common-sense decisions are not His order, He will press through them and check; then we must be quiet and wait for the direction of His presence.

** Notice ** I have temporarily removed the Donald Young death certificate from this post pending verification with the state of Illinois. The death certificate, contrary to the liars from the Obama camp, is certified and obtained legally. Furthermore, the reaction from the Obama camp strengthens the case that Jeremiah Wright had knowledge of Donald's Young's death before it was announced.

Larry Sinclair continues to ask questions about the death of Donald Young and the involvement of Jeremiah Wright. Larry Sinclair has asked how Jeremiah Wright was able to report that Donald Young was dead before the coroner ruled that he was dead. An Obama supporter and smear specialist has commented on this blog that not just anyone can get a copy of a death certificate. Here is Larry Sinclair's latest statement:

1. Jeremiah Wright announced Donald Young’s death at either the 7:30 AM or 11:00 AM Service.
How did Jeremiah Wright already know Donald Young was dead? Who told him?

The following information is also provided to demonstrate that which I have always stated was my knowledge, instead of the pro Obama factions making claims I have accused Obama of being involved in multiple murders.

I have always stated that while Larry Bland was indeed the victim of murder (Bland was pronounced dead by Medical Examiner of Multiple gun shot wounds November 17, 2007 at 8:40 AM) I have always stated it was my belief Young’s murder was intentionally made to appear to have been committed by the same killer of Bland.

Nate Spencer was not murdered, and in fact the information that I posted and informed people was my understanding is in fact verified based on the certified copy of the Death Certificate of Nate Spencer. Nate Spencer pronounced dead of natural causes, “septicemia, pneumonia, HIV December 26, 2007 at 6:31 AM”

I repeat my above question: How did Jeremiah Wright already know Donald Young was dead? Who told Wright that Young was dead well before Donald Young was pronounced dead?"

Money dries up as scandals spread; campaign begs for $5 contributions to keep campaign afloat

Can you make a donation of $5 now to strengthen our movement for change?

So reads the latest pathetic appeal from Obama campaign manager David Plouffe. Even though Obama's Internet presence and network are far more sophisticated than John McCain's--remember that it played a central role in Hillary Clinton's defeat--Plouffe's E-mail shows that it is no longer raising the kind of money the campaign needs. It is quite likely that Barack Obama's own supporters are closing their checkbooks, wallets, and purses in response to the scandals that surround his campaign:

Questionable fundraising methods such as Internet lotteries of questionable legality

Misuse of tax exempt church resources for electioneering (Obama's campaign-related speech to the United Church of Christ's annual synod in June 2007)

The campaign's sanction of misogynist, anti-Semitic, and racist hate speech at My.BarackObama.com

The campaign's sanction of actual libel at My.BarackObama.com

Obama's refusal to accept Federal funding of his campaign (and corresponding spending limits) after he promised to do this.

The fact that Obama accepted the endorsements of Jeremiah Wright and Michael Pfleger--screenshots from BarackObama.com are available--before he rejected them.

The method in which the Obama campaign handled a complaint from Minnesota law enforcement agencies with regard to what is arguably a lottery--donate money in exchange for an expenses-paid trip to Denver to meet Barack Obama--underscores its lack of character and ethics. As reported by WorldNetDaily,

Doug Forsman, a special agent with Minnesota's Department of Public Safety, had confirmed the illegality of the promotion.

He gave the campaign two options, the newspaper said, to void the contest where such bans exist or to change the rules to allow people to participate without gambling any of their money.

Forsman confirmed Kendall Burman, staff counsel at Obama's Chicago headquarters, informed him the "donation," which had been a requirement earlier, would be made optional.

The Obama campaign followed up on this promise by making changes that are at best perfunctory, cosmetic, and minimal. It is true that the page on which one actually makes a campaign contribution says--if one looks hard enough and carefully enough--that one can enter the lottery without any donation. We received, however, an E-mail from the Obama campaign at least a week after the campaign made this promise to Minnesota's Department of Public Safety that asks for money in exchange for a chance to meet with Barack Obama, and the E-mail does NOT mention that one does not have to make the donation. In other words, it looks like the Obama campaign did the absolute minimum it had to do to stay out of actual trouble with the law. This does not speak very highly for the campaign's ethics, and the former supporters who are slamming shut their checkbooks, wallets, and purses are reacting accordingly.

The use of allegedly illegal lotteries to raise money is entirely consistent with Barack Obama's own misuse of tax exempt church resources to support his campaign. In June 2007, Obama gave a pre-written (thus showing malice aforethought) campaign related speech called "A Politics of Conscience" at the United Church of Christ's annual synod in Hartford CT. This resulted in an IRS investigation of the church, thus showing that Obama has no conscience whatsoever. The church is on record as telling Obama and his campaign ahead of time that no campaign related activity could take place at a tax exempt church event. Obama and his people are on record as understanding and agreeing to these rules. Then Obama deliberately, knowingly, and willfully wrote and delivered a speech whose campaign-related content violated these rules. He broke his word to his own church, thus showing him to be totally without honor, ethics, or character: a liar and a promise breaker.

Obama also lied about his intention to accept Federal matching campaign funds (and corresponding spending limits) once he realized that he could raise far more money through his Internet campaign machine. As his disgruntled, disillusioned, and betrayed supporters begin to cut him off, though, he is probably having third thoughts about this decision.

It has also been well established that My.BarackObama.com is under the editorial control of Obama's campaign staff, which can and does delete comments and blog entries it finds "offensive" or "disrespectful." Reams of anti-Semitic, misogynist, and even racist hate speech whose presence the campaign staff welcomed at the site has been re-posted all over the Internet, and this is doubtlessly cutting into the campaign's ability to raise money.

It has also come out that the campaign sanctions--as shown by its failure to delete the entries even after they were brought to its attention--libelous material such as false accusations of crimes against individual and corporate "persons." This is doubtlessly something with which prospective donors do not wish to be involved.

In any event, Obama's campaign is now in serious trouble, and David Plouffe's latest E-mail shows it.

I have some big news we want to share with you.

In the month of June, supporters like you helped raise $52 million. And together with the DNC, we now have nearly $72 million in the bank. That's a very strong financial position to be in.

But we remain at a massive disadvantage to our opponents.

As I mentioned in my video message earlier in the week, the McCain Campaign and the Republican National Committee finished June with nearly $100 million in the bank.

We can't stop now. It's going to take everything we've got to defeat John McCain and his allies in November.

Can you make a donation of $5 now to strengthen our movement for change?

Two months ago, Obama was eager to opt out of matching Federal campaign funding because he thought his Internet network could easily raise enough money to swamp McCain with advertising. Now the widening scandals that surround his campaign have reduced it to the equivalent of begging, "Brother, can you spare a dime?"

We have heard from Jeremiah Wright, but listen to THIS from Father Michael Pfleger, one of Obama's three spiritual mentors. In a 2004 interview, Out of his OWN MOUTH, Barack Obama named Jeremiah Wright, Michael Pfleger, and James Meeks as his spiritual advisers. From that 2004 interview with the Chicago Sun-Times: "Friends and advisers, such as the Rev. Michael Pfleger, pastor of St. Sabina Roman Catholic Church in the Auburn- Gresham community on the South Side, who has known Obama for the better part of 20 years, help him keep that compass set, he says." http://www.suntimes.com/news/falsani/726619,obamafalsani040504.article

You can't miss the cheering from the congregation.
