As some of our faithful readers might have noticed, there has been a new fan base that has frequently visited our site over the past two days. No, they don't care about the Vols getting six verbals in six days (most of which are no name players). Heck, even the Vol fans (and writer(s) for this site) are questioning some of them. Rather, this fan base is living in the past (and they say Alabama fans are the worst). Stay with me here.

We were going to do a SEC lim'rick every week, but this week, thanks to those lovable, but just-a-little-off posters from TigerForums.net, we have decided to devote an ENTIRE lim'rick column to the "Tiger Truthers."

Here's some background info. A few months ago we uncovered some pictures of a Clemson commitment flashin' his stacks. Either these guys just uncovered the secret of the World Wide Web and are late to the party or they really can't let something negative go to rest. While these guys really don't know the true definition of "beating a dead horse," you can see what all of this ruckus is about here. Just read the comments.

So without any more hesitation, we here at 3SIB present you with this special, limited edition of lim'ricks. Enjoy.

[Update] Danny Ford is God fires back. Of course, he doesn't have the poetry skillz to do so in iambic pentameter, which may or may not apply to limericks, I don't know.

Tommy Bowden's daughter certainly is regal
And we can gawk at her now that she's legal.
And we have, you can bet
She's all over the Net
Apparently, Clemson's new formation is the "spread eagle."

I tried to find a picture of Lauren Bowden, but this is all I found.

Three months ago we wrote a post
About Clemson recruiting the most
We thought it was dead
But Tigers weren't fed
So they keep coming to irritate Ghost.

The folks at Clemson are a strange bunch
Judging from their comments, it's not a hunch
Invading our blog
Commenting agog
About how "that one time" they ate the Vols lunch.

There once was an o-line recruit named Ken
Over UT, he chose to play at Clemson
Left the Vols in a tizzy
Dabo's been busy
And now the kid's got a few extra thousand to spend.

That's just terrible colors on him. Terrible.

There once was this recruit named Page
Myspace pictures let his secret out of the cage
Now to Clemson he'll go
Cuz that's where all the green grows
For recruits like him don't make minimum wage.

Oh Kenneth how dumb can you be?
We know money does not grow on trees
We know where you're from
That's right, we're not dumb
And you're only going to Clemson for the degree.

Dabo and Napier pay in 20s
But from Page's picture they pay plenty
Maybe Phil should take note
That a recruiting pitch won't float
Without flashing several pretty pennies.

Swinney's recruiting magic made him adored
His skill at drawing in talent can't be ignored
But it's seems kinda fishy
Recruits are wipin' with fifties
Takes me back to the days of Danny Ford.

So, how does it feel, Tiger fans, when you hear
About the "real" Death Valley that strikes fear?
I can poke fun, you see
We're the "other" UT
But at least our orange doesn't look queer.

This is the real Death Valley.

Oh Tommy, you've done it again
Loaded your team with players who can win
Now all they should do
Is get rid of you
And maybe a tradition can begin.

A picture says a 1,000 words.

The recruitment of Antoine was hot
When he said Bama he'd attend not
Said he was all Vol
Silent commitment and all
Hell, at least he knew our mascot.

Clemson, you make it truly hard for a poet
If something rhymes with orange or purple, I don't know it
But you've got talent
The best money can rent
But Tommy'll somehow find a way to blow it.

Yep, now that picture is correct.

Just yesterday, our esteemed Vols to the Wall posted a brief story and a picture of Clemson offensive line recruit Kenneth Page dressed in a Clemson-orange polo holding a handful of neatly wrapped money that appears to be $20K.

Page had briefly posted the picture on his Myspace page before -- mysteriously -- taking it down. (If you're innocent, we thought, why remove it?) The picture has caused quite the stir among message boards and blog sites across the Southeast, even if we can't claim that we had it first.

But today, we at 3SIB received a phone call from Clemson athletic officials threatening a lawsuit if we didn't clean up our story, which insinuated the Tigers were buying recruits (I mean, it's normal for a player of Antoine McClain's caliber to not know the mascot of the team he signed with, right?). A man identifying himself as only "Tommy" chided us for not checking our facts because the photo had been "quite obviously" photoshopped.

To validate his point, "Tommy" had his lawyers send us the original picture of Kenneth, and we here at our proud blogsite wholeheartedly apologize to the Page family and the proud university. As it turns out with the below picture, I guess Kenneth is really an upstanding young man and Clemson is truly not a sleazebag, win-at-all-costs program.

We regret our erroneousness. Here is the real picture of Kenneth. We think he has very pretty hands:

Kenneth Page, a very highly touted offensive lineman, was one of many prospects to choose Clemson over Tennessee this past recruiting season. Many Vols fans wondered how we could be beat out on so many recruits by Clemson. Well I guess we got our answer.

HT: Brahsome.com

This photo of Page holding what looks to be thousands of dollars riding in the back of a car was posted on Kenneth's Myspace page. However, as soon as Clemson learned of the picture it was immediately removed.

Clemson, a team that is the epitome of mediocrity, has suddenly had unreal success in recruiting. Most people believed this was because of Dabo Swinney, the man that recruited Page and most of their other highly touted recruits, who is considered to be one of the best recruiters in College football. Obviously their recruiting success can be attributed to more than just Dabo.

I guess there is always the possibility that he could of just had thousands of dollars saved up for a rainy day, or maybe he was just holding it for someone (Dabo). Either way it looks like Clemson has some explaining to do. This should be fun.

So FSU loses 36 players for their bowl game due to cheating on an online class. Well, they are not alone. Apparently South Florida has the same issues. Well, senior linebacker Ben Moffitt does. Moffitt, who has been married for five years, recently filed for divorce. Uh-oh, boy shouldn't have done that. Let the floodgates open! Wife strikes back.

The Ben Moffitt Story.

This is actually quite comical if you ask me. I mean, out of all things, she decides to ruin his college education. That's classic. Not only that, she gets her sister and mother involved too. I guess this is a case of the good ole' saying "Chicks before d...", well you get my point. Or just a case of blood thicker than water, but the first sounds better. Notice Moffitt's response to the allegations. That line sums it all up. "Hearsay." He really isn't that smart. Maybe he should consult a dictionary/thesaurus before opening up like that again. Or maybe his wife isn't that smart considering Moffitt projects to be a mid-round pick in the upcoming NFL draft.

The new official nickname of the Auburn Tigers is now "Chop Block U." Simply put, Auburn is the dirtiest team in the nation, hands down. No one can argue with the fact that that play was intentional. No doubt about it. This further explains why I hate Auburn with every ounce of my body. So what if we've lost 6 in a row to them. At this point none of that matters. College football really needs to look into this situation and take matters into their own hands. Someone is going to get seriously injured out there. Oh wait, that has happened twice now. Sc**w you Auburn and Tuberville. That is all.

Earlier this week Auburn OC Al Borges resigned (in the same way that cell mates “make love

Earlier this week Auburn OC Al Borges resigned (in the same way that cell mates "make love"). Borges was known for running a West Coast offense which in some circles is considered outdated despite the fact that towards the end of it's heyday, the phrase "West Coast offense" essentially meant "not the wishbone."

In an effort to get away from an offense predicated on short passes and draw plays like the West Coast, Tuberville hired Tony Franklin, formerly of Troy University where he held the same position. Franklin is considered a pioneer of the spread offense--which is different from the West Coast offense because it is predicated on short passes and draw plays. Of course, being a "pioneer of the spread offense" is like saying "I was at Woodstock." Congratulations. No one really believes you and even if it's true you're only one of thousands.

Franklin enjoyed tremendous success at Troy where in the two years of his tenure, the Trojans succeeded in ranking in the top 20 in offense both seasons, a full 90+ spots higher than Troy had achieved to that point in their brief Div 1-A history.

This is not Franklin's first stint in the SEC. He was offensive coordinator for Hal Mumme at Kentucky when Coach Mumme resigned under allegations that his coaching staff was engaged in NCAA rules violations. The NCAA would later punish UK for those alleged violations. During his time at Kentucky, his star pupil was Jared Lorenzen.

Of interest is his most recent position at Troy where his current head coach, Larry Blakeney was formerly on the Auburn staff of Pat Dye who resigned under allegations that his coaching staff was engaged in NCAA rules violations. The NCAA would later punish AU for those alleged violations. While at Troy, he coached QB Omar Haugabook to two Sun Belt Player of the Year titles.

This is a good hire for Auburn. Borges benefited from having 3 first round draft picks in his backfield in his first season with Auburn and regressed each season after that. With exception to Kentucky, where he took over for Mike Leach who had just coached Tim Couch to a number one draft pick, Franklin has elevated the play at every stop he's made in his career. Plus, with Hal Mumme and Larry Blakeney as mentors, he knows what it takes to recruit in this conference. Auburn isn't going away just yet.

They just won't ever beat Alabama again.

One Ridiculous Auburn Theory

I have this theory on what could happen to Auburn in the next couple weeks. It’s going to so

I have this theory on what could happen to Auburn in the next couple weeks. It's going to sound crazy I admit. But let me tell you something. Britney Spears' new album Blackout has sold a few hundred thousand copies. Do you know what that means? There are hundreds of thousands of people who didn't just download the album to avoid the embarrassment of someone witnessing them purchasing a Britney Spears album. Wrap your mind around that for a few seconds and then realize that short of me telling you that Tuberville is going to give birth at halftime to a kid who will then proceed to score the winning touchdown, nothing I'm about to say could possibly make less sense than anything related to Britney right now.

Before I get to the theory, let me go ahead and address what will be the oncoming waves of unwashed Auburn fans. You might have figured out from my screen name that I'm an Alabama fan. Then again, if you've ever played running back for Auburn you probably didn't. Of course if that's the case, whoever is reading this to you can explain it. The very first time I heard the rumor that Tuberville might consider the Texas A&M job (and that was last year), I heard a cacophony of Tiger fans saying that I would just love to have Tubs leave. Not true. I want him to stay because the Iron Bowl more than any other rivalry is cyclical and the smug Mr. Tuberville has reached his zenith. Recently however, I realized that if he does leave, I win that way too. Of all the years to be in a coaching search, this is not the one. Auburn is not a third-rate program. In fact, given current circumstances, they have a good chance of being the second best program to work for behind LSU in this year's current coaching search, assuming Michigan succeeds in hiring Miles. The problem for Auburn is that they could get to the game late. If they don't even have a job opening until after the other big boys have hired all the talent, it could be a scramble. Keep him or go through the stress of a coaching search, my inner sadist is satisfied.

So my theory...Auburn currently stands at a disappointing 7-4. The usual segment of angry fans is hoping Tubs leaves. This is a small margin because the remaining segment of, well, angry fans doesn't care about the first 11 games as long as he beats Alabama. Fail that, and it will be a pretty unified fanbase. Win or lose, however, Auburn can't fire him and he can't leave without the jilted party receiving 6 million dollars. Ridiculous theories aside, there should be no doubt in anyone's mind that while Tubs is saying the matter isn't worth discussing, Jimmy Sexton has some Aggie booster in his ear. So what happens if Tubs goes 7-5, losing to the Tide? He stands to lose a fair amount of appeal. Auburn will want to be rid of him, and Texas A&M certainly isn't going to want to pay 6 million dollars to get the same record they are firing. Unless...

The real fun begins after the game. Because Ohio State and Michigan play their last game this weekend, the world will know that Michigan is hiring, probably Les Miles. Which means LSU is open (and Tubs has been rumored here, too). Nebraska is looking for a coach. Arkansas will be looking for a coach. Ole Miss will probably be looking for a coach. And of course Texas A&M is not even denying interest in taking your man. And you have a nice little price tag on him that says he can be all theirs for only six million dollars. But what if Texas A&M doesn't want to pay six million but they offer him a bigger contract than you do? Can the AD at Auburn actually save face if he offers Tubs a massive pay raise and extension after he goes 7-5 and loses to his two biggest rivals? If you give him four million dollars and a five year extension, that six million you thought you were saving by not firing him is now paid to him anyway over the length of his new contract which you didn't really want to give him in the first place. What could be worse than that, however is if you get into a price negotiation with Texas A&M. They can afford to drag it out, because ultimately that $6 million is money they saved by not having to pay Fran his full buyout. If they have to pay it they will. Time is on their side. But you, my mascot-confused friend, you do not have that luxury, because the longer you wait, the more the above programs start snatching up all the coaches that are too afraid to wait to see what happens with your job. Don't think it's true? Ask Mal Moore. Alabama is happy with Nick Saban, but we got him because Butch Davis got scared and signed his contract with UNC. So Auburn starts to panic and they agree in principle to let Tuberville go for $2 million just so they can get the coaching search going in earnest and hope every other program in the country hasn't re-upped their guys before you can get to them.
So now let's go back to Tuberville's agent, Jimmy Sexton. What if that booster in Sexton's ear is saying, "Look, Jimmy, six million dollars on top of a 3.8 million dollar contract is pretty pricey. Especially considering he's not going to get nearly that if he stays at Auburn. He's already on fairly thin ice over there, but they know 6 mil is a lot of money, too. What if your man happens to lose that 5th game? Auburn won't fire him, but perhaps they would work with us a little bit on that sticker price to take him off their hands...and maybe if we aren't paying so much in moving expenses, well maybe we could push a little more cash in Tommy's direction...maybe get him a bit over that 4 mil mark. Not that there's anything magical about that number. We're just chatting, you understand."

Of course, it's not necessary for him to throw the game. I'm just putting that out there to plant the seed for when Auburn is up by two deep in their own territory, and go three and out by trying to pass downfield on all three downs, and then Tubs elects to punt to Javier Arenas. That kind of a decision will make you remember this blog.

Now, let's open the floor to all the Auburn folks (and Anti-Tide fans) who want to insist the only way Bama wins is if Tubs throws the game. He's your man, guys. Have more faith in his loyalty than that.

Phillip Fulmer is not very popular among Tennessee fans right now. In fact, most are calling for him to get fired. However, I like many Tennessee fans respect Coach Fulmer. He has poured his heart and soul into the Tennessee program, so when I hear Alabama fans disrespecting him, and calling him a bad man it angers me.

All I ever hear from Alabama fans is what an immoral man Phillip Fulmer is because he "took down Alabama to save himself." Thats funny because I don't remember it that way. I remember Alabama cheating and getting caught. Alabama took down themselves.

Why does Fulmer get the blame, because "he told on Alabama for cheating, so Tennessee wouldn't get in trouble?" If this was the case, so what. Why is that so wrong? Why is that immoral? How does that make him a bad man? If I'm not mistaken things like this are done all the time. You let the small fish go so you can catch the big one's later (I think its safe to assume that Tennessee's violations were smaller than Alabama's since they were not put on probation). So if Fulmer thought he had to give all the information he had on Alabama to save his program, why wouldn't he do it? Wouldn't you want Saban to do the same if he knew Tuberville was buying the top players in Alabama? However, Fulmer didn't give the information to save his school, those were only allegations that were never proven to be true, as far as I know there isn't any evidence that Tennessee was guilty of any violations. All Fulmer did was turn in a recorded conversation he had with a recruiting analyst. Nothing in the NCAA's rules say that a coach can't turn in information on a rival school. By the way, he wasn't the only one that turned Bama in, there were other witnesses as well. So why is he a cheater? Why is he immoral? Why all the hate for Fulmer, when you should be thanking him for doing the right thing and cleaning up your program when no one at Alabama would. Get over it. Stop hating Fulmer for being an honest and moral man. Recognize that your school was found guilty of cheating. Move on.

Now that we cleared that up, I think we can get to the root of all this hatred. Lets be honest you hate Fulmer because he owns Alabama. He always has, and still does despite the score of this year's game. Thats the real reason Bammers don't like Phil. Go ahead call him a cheater and a snitch, but don't forget to call him what he really is, YOUR DADDY!!!!

A few links for your Tuesday...

If you're not reading Sunday Morning Quarterback, then shame on you. The dude knows his stuff, and is way smarter than a college football blogger should be. Here he explains the real reason for the craziness of last weekend. A prerequisite in the subject of Hinduism may be required, though.

Another Gator run-in with the law. This time its starting safety Tony Joiner. I'm sure it was all a misunderstanding. If past experience tells us anything, then Joiner should play this Saturday against LSU and also against Georgia, but will be suspended for the Vandy game and whomever the Gators play for Homecoming.

As you probably already know, Coach Fran has been selling inside info about the Aggies to certain privileged boosters. Shocker, I know. Info that includes the dish on players' injuries. Tom Dienhart of the Sporting News says Fran's gone. And the name he mentions as the replacement wouldn't surprise you either. (HT: Roll Bama Roll) Of course the Plainstigeaglemen are disbuting this.

That's all I've got for now.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Hollywood starlet Lindsay Lohan has reached out to University of Tennessee Head Coach Phillip Fulmer in her search for help from drug and alcohol issues after learning of UT RB Lemarcus Coker's speedy recovery from similiar circumstances.

Lohan had been heavily criticized after she pleaded guilty to misdemeanor DUI and drug charges and escaped with only a one day jail sentence.

"Coach Fulmer told me about this totally cool miracle that he worked with one of his players," said Lohan. "He must have been pretty messed up because he even had the word "coke'' in his last name. Coach Fulmer said that he reminded him of another player they used to call the "coke machine.'' I bet it would be super awesome to party with either one of those guys!"

"Apparently they sent him to this way amazing detox place that must have totally healed him or something. He was into all this bad stuff, and he got to come back to the team in just three weeks! I told Coach that I could do that for sure if it would make people forget about Georgia Rule."

Phillip Fulmer said that he was excited to have the opportunity to work with the talents of Lohan.

"Obviously we are going to work like heck to get the old hot Lindsay back. I told her that nobody really liked Skeletor Lindsay, and that while she was here doing rehab we could swing by Krispy Kreme a time or three, and see if we can put some good weight back on that stick figure of hers."

Fulmer also praised the speedy recovery of super soph RB Lemarcus Coker while denying knowledge of anyone known as "coke machine."

"I would know a coke machine if I saw one," exclaimed Fulmer. "Believe me. I have had a coke or three in my day. Heck, I've got sweet tea running through my viens. I know southern drinks."

Fulmer then proclaimed his love for Golden Flake before turning his attention to the benefits of helping Lohan.

"Gosh. I don't know if you guys have noticed or not, but we ain't been recruiting California to well the last few years. I mean, have you seen our record? We need them Cali boys in some kinda bad way. Heck, it looks like the stripper party thing has kind of run it's course with those guys. But, they ain't never seen nothing like Lindsay Lohan with some meat on them bones. We'll have her dressed up like Santa's helper again in no time."

Lohan is expected to fly back to Knoxville on the team jet after UT's opening loss to California. There she will officially check in to the "Phillip Fulmer Drug Rehabilitation Program."

Tidesports.com has a write-up on the continuing saga of the ineptitude of the Hoover High Administration, especially concerning Tide signee Josh Chapman. It seems a basic understanding of math isn't required to be a counselor at the school. After being notified by Alabama - who was under the assumption that Chapman would qualify - that Chapman's transcipt revealed that he had come up short on the eligibility requirements, the couselors made an error in recalculating his final grade in a math class.

Hoover counselors Cindy Bond and Marley Stephens assumed it was a mistake resulting from a rounding error with the computer system, one of 36 such problems they reported, Bishop said. The counselors then mistakenly averaged the player’s final math grade of 89 with his first-semester grade of a 90 and then rounded up, changing the grade from a B to an A.

Hopefully this will get resolved soon, and before any of you start crying "Foul",

Generally, if a transcript error takes place at the high school level and is later discovered, the college or university is not considered at fault nor in danger of violating NCAA rules unless the student participates in an athletic contest after the school was notified of eligibility concerns.

So BAMA will be alright as long as Chapman doesn't step out onto the field.

Some Tennessee fans like myself are asked why they hate Nick Saban so much. Their answer is simple:

Some Tennessee fans like myself are asked why they hate Nick Saban so much. Their answer is simple: Because he's Alabama's coach.

Many love to hate Saban. Tennessee fans hate him because we hate Alabama. LSU fans hate him because he isn't their coach. Auburn fans hate him because they are scared to death. Ole Miss fans hate him because he used to be LSU's coach, and they have to hate somebody to feel important.

Everybody else hates him because he's a proven liar, as is documented yet again in the first few paragraphs of Ivan Maisel's very, very well-written article on ESPN.com.

As for me, well, I don't hate Nick Saban at all, as if any of you care. I do hate Alabama, and I hate the school because I was raised that way.

I, as they say in these parts, got it honest.

Some of you want to compare the deep-rooted hatred to your own disdain for a rival, and some of you compare justifiably, I'm sure. But nothing can approach it in my own mind.

Like everyone else who posts on this board, I grew up on the Tennessee-Alabama line. Thank God I grew up on the proper side, but that's beside the point. Going on with each other is what's most fun about this rivalry. We can get riled up (I'm the worst, usually, except for our resident Georgia fan), but at the end of the day, we're all buddies.

Now, however, I live in enemy territory. My in-laws are HUGE Alabama fans. My wife loves Alabama, and she says, "I pull for Tennessee when they're not playing Alabama."

OK, dear. Whatever.

When you can do that, you're not a true fan of anybody, anyway, so I love her the same, no matter what her allegiance. Now, if she tries to corrupt my children ... we'll not even go there.

When I was just learning how important Tennessee football was in the realm of life -- which is pretty important, I might add -- it was during the mid-to-late 1980s. Tennessee could not beat Alabama, regardless of what kind of team the Vols had. Johnny Majors was a heckuva coach, except for the one Saturday out of the season when it meant the most.

I remember sitting in my room listening to "Leonard's Losers" and hearing the old fogie (and legend) pick the Tide every time. Not once do I recall him picking Tennessee to win. Then, we'd watch the game, me, my dad, my Papaw and family, and we'd lose. Plain and simple. Every year. So, like every Vols fan during that time, I developed a complex. Bama fans -- or as I love to call them "Bammers" to get under their skin -- tried to spin it into an inferiority complex. It was never that. It still isn't.

What Alabama fans did during that time was turn a fantastic rivalry into a heated hate-bath in my mind. I stewed with venom my entire life praying for the day that UT would beat Alabama again (I mean, from the time of 1986 on, it just didn't happen, and that's about the first season I can vividly remember).

Then came Peyton Manning.

Now, boomtown and YCD like to ride me about the rivalry because I'm easily ridable, but their argument always hinges on the reason UT has been better than UA over the past decade is because they were on probation. Mmkay. That's why you let Alabama fans say what they want. They're delusional.

What about the years before the probation? What about those? Why, just the other day, boomtown said that even after UA's 6-7 season last year, that the Tide was still "more relevant" than UT. FOR CRYIN' OUT LOUD. OK, SO YOU'RE THE MORE RELEVANT PROGRAM. BIG DEAL. I mean, Miami and UCLA are more relevant than UT, too, more "storied," but it doesn't make them better programs.

Give me the better team, not the more relevant one, but I digress.

From 1995 onward, I was the one who got to brag a little, puff out my chest because my Vols were dominating, and when the Albert Means stuff boiled to an ugly head after I graduated, I was not happy about it. Especially when the Phillip Fulmer stuff came out.

It was a good, healthy rivalry, no matter how much the Alabama fans tried to turn it into something else, and everybody knew it was going to get ugly. It did, and it still is, to an extent. Alabama fans started HATING Fulmer, and Vols fans started getting more defensive again. It just wasn't, and isn't, pretty.

Now, the past few years have been even, which -- according to boomtown -- should not make me feel better because it was during Alabama's worst times and Tennessee's best times. I disagree with the second part of that, but arguing with a Bammer is like arguing with your wife. You simply can't win, because they'll bring Bear Bryant into the equation and your head will explode.

Actually, the past few years have been fine with me. Would I love to beat Bama every year? I'd probably give my left Rocky Mountain oyster to do that, yes, but more than anything, I want the rivalry to be fun and competitive.

I wrote a long email to my buddies commending Alabama for landing Saban when it all went down last year. For a while, the good-natured banter heated up, and things were as they should be. We've always been buddies, and we were having very informative and fun conversations about our teams again. Alabama actually felt relevant again.

Now, Alabama fans are getting too big for their britches again.

No matter where you go around these parts, you see so much Crimson, so much pride and so much smugness. All that is great to have for your program. But the air that you're just better than everybody else just gets old and tired.

Sure, Saban's having a fantastic recruiting season. That's great. It's also predictable. Everybody knew Bama would be the flavor of the month for a while, but that's all it is. For anyone expecting a USC-type program to emerge from Tuscaloosa is just fooling themselves.

I'll be the first one to say Tennessee blew it. The Vols had a chance to dominate a decade with Alabama down, Florida having a brain fart and hiring Ron Zook and Georgia breaking in a new coach, and they let things spiral out of control instead.

A proud program is trying to find its way back into respectability, much like another program to our South. But 2006 was a start, and Alabama hasn't even had one of those yet. They count Saban as their first step. Maybe they're right.

Saban's inaugural year will be one of the most highly anticipated debuts ever, no doubt. You'd think he's going to trot out of the tunnel wearing a Houndstooth hat and doing Golden Flake commercials. But he's assuredly not come close to dominating the SEC yet in his five years of coaching.
What it all boils down to though, is this: The only people who think Alabama will dominate the conference, dominate the Vols and dominate Auburn are Alabama fans. You can talk about your "reality" or "writing on the wall" or whatever else you want to call it to get you through your day, your crappy administration's decisions the past few years and crappy record last year.

But it is what it is. Alabama now has a good coach, possibly a great coach. Alabama is recruiting some good players, possibly some great players. Well, welcome to the SEC. Glad you could join us. This is the conference where nobody is up for long and the powerhouses surely aren't down for long.

As for Saban, I don't hate the guy. He's not honest, but he honestly puts up great numbers. So, why not be happy he's in the league. I am. What I hate are Alabama fans' inflated egos because he's in the league. Saban doesn't make you better than everybody else. He simply allows you to join everybody else.

Bring it on.

Credit goes to the completely ethical and forthcoming Tiger coaching staff for turning boys into men. Literally.

An AOL sports blog posted its top 10 dirtiest college football programs in the country, and SURPRISE! SURPRISE! Bama ain't No. 1.

Instead, it's Texas Tech followed by Oklahoma and Texas A&M. In other words, the New Big 12 is following the lead of the old SWAC.

Don't those boys have anything better to do than break the rules?

How'd those two nose out Alabama, though? Could it be because the Blogger is a UA alum??

Well, at least No. 3 has a former Tide coach running the program.

The Real McCoys came in fourth on the list and should escalate right on up the food chain now that Saban's there. (That was a joke. Down! Down!).

Also on the list were the Kenturkeys and The Fighting Ears of Auburn. Not surprisingly, the Big Orange didn't make the cut.

Guess Roy Kramer and Doug Dickey haven't been out of office long enough.

Don't worry, our day is probably coming. I'm not going to stand atop my perch and preach that everything is right and fair on Rocky Top. But if we survived Trooper Taylor's speeches, Tee Martin and Linda Bensel-Myers, we're liable to get away with anything.

Hokies

No wonder a mediocre Georgia team upset Virginia Tech in last year's Chick-Fil-A Bowl.

Hokies coach Frank Beamer suggested that the Dawgs might have had moles at their Atlanta-based practices, therefore giving them an advantage when the bowl game rolled around.

"We practiced out at Georgia Tech and we let all kinds of people through there ... people we didn't really know," Beamer told The Roanoke Times. "And I thought it hurt us in the bowl game. I'm not blaming anybody ... but I thought Georgia knew exactly what we were doing in several situations."

Hmmm, pretty juicy stuff for a couple teams who aren't even going to play each other this year. Coach ButtCutt responded with this retort:

"It is natural," Mark Richt told the Atlanta Journal Constitution. "I don't blame him for wanting to close [practice] or even feeling that way. To my knowledge we had absolutely no idea what was going on in their camp. I can assure coach Beamer we had no idea about anything going on."

Umm hmm. And Matthew Stafford likes going to races to see the pretty cars go fast.

In all seriousness, I think Beamer must have had some of Jimmy Williams' wacky weed. There may be some sneaky coaches on Georgia's staff, but to think Richt had anything to do with cheating would be ascenine.

Have you seen the guy's cameo in Facing the Giants? He's a halo away from heaven. I've tried to hate him. Ain't possible.

Plus, why would UGA spy on Tech and not Tennessee. And anybody who witnessed "Half a Hundred" at Sanford last year knows that didn't happen.

UPDATED (8/9): Now, Beamer is telling the Atlanta Journal Constitution he never insinuated UGA had spies. Hmmmm. Chalk this one up as "Coaches' Convenience" and another attempt by the "vile media" to bring everybody down.
