My Wedding Song. When was the time we felt contentment in our lives? The only time we never asked for anything more than to make this moment stay. The only time we confidently lay down our cards and give up our aces, just to assure everything won’t change. I believe it barely comes on our lives. And once we get the chance to be on that spot, we feel that we’re almost in heaven. That we don’t want more but we can’t settle for less. Most of us people have been in this situation but never really recognized that we are in it. There’s one mere fact about this, it never really lasts, and though your grip’s too tight, there will come a time that you need to let it go – whether you like it or not.
I wasn’t really familiar with this old song. I’ve heard it a lot of times before but it never really caught my emotion. And now, Edwin McCain runs in my mp3 player 3 times a day! I was really feeling “cheesy” that time when I thought of writing this song at my “to burn” list. Then the LSS began. The lyrics said it all. The meaning of the song is so brilliant. Very touching. Listening to this song made me decide that when my special day comes, this will be my wedding song. (though there are times when I though of being single for the rest of my life. I’ve been hurt a lot of times and the pain still lingers. Sometimes I felt that I can’t afford another heartbreak.) I can say that this song is a remedy for a longing soul.
Contentment may be rare in our lives but it teaches us the reality that everything comes and passes. It may come to visit but never to stay. Above this, you can only say one thing, “I wish this could last forever,”
