The new Simian Mobile Disco remix cd Sample and Hold is out now featuring remixes of tracks from their Attack Decay Sustain Release debut. While a lot of the remixes are fairly poor and, sorry, forgetable, there are a couple of goodies on there. Shit Robot delivers a decent mix of It's The Beat and Simon Baker's edit of Sleep Deprivation is also worth mentioning. The real treat though is Joakim's remix of Hustler, that really adds something to the original. Joakim, apart from being an extremely cool guy wearing sunglasses around the clock (even behind a chinese mask, didn't know that was possible..), is quite an experienced remixer and has remixed the likes of DJ Mehdi, Gucci Soundsystem and Tiga previously. But the Hustler mix is excellent, do check it out

I couldn't understand why I got all this traffic on my blog today - a Sunday. It is generally my "slow" day. But today was an odd one. I got way more traffic than the usual. I just didn't get it. Why is this? Where did all the "love" come from? And then I got it. Porn.

Sunday is porn day. It seems as if people (read men) trawl the internet for porn on a Sunday. "Just catching up on some work honey." Or maybe it is Mr Lonely getting a bit... hum... lonely.

They must have been way disappointed with this blog. Angry at the Angry African I guess. You see, I wrote What's up with the porno pose? on Friday. And this blog comes up if you search for "porn" or other related words like "Playboy", "pornography" and "pose". Of course it didn't help that the same post had the story of "the woman and her skirt tucked in her pantie" in there as well. Why? Well, other words tagged included "skirt", "pantie", knickers", "butt", "underwear" and "cheeks". So if you use those words in a search... Go figure.

So I'll include a few more words in this post. See the tags below. Let's see that traffic now! I am keeping it above board though. Nothing hardcore. Any ideas on other words I should use? But it let's keep it at "soft" porn. Nothing too radical. It's open for everyone to read. So keep the words simple. Just a bit of a tease.

Leesong Hee-il's No Regret, the a-la-Korea take on hustler films, follows a strong suit of silver-screened talent to emerge from the country. The protagonist, Sumin (Lee Young-Hoon), transforms from orphan to whore (via art design degree, of course) only to find himself head-to-head with Jaemin (Lee Han), the handsome and rich distraction that catapults him into heartache and tragedy. Anyone who comes from a conservative family that doesn't exactly accept non-mainstream sexuality should appreciate this celluloid gem. And this rich-boy-meets-poor-boy gay romance promises some breathtaking visuals, Asian-style.

Leesong Hee-il gets five stars from the Molecule, simply because of his courage to bring such "risky" material to Korean filmgoers. Oh, and the film's not bad either.

No Regret plays at the Cinema Village, 12th Street, east of Fifth Avenue. English Subtitles. 114 minutes. Rated R (sex, nudity, profanity, violence).

Kandis Knight

Armed with a degree in Journalism and Marketing, publicist, music journalist, columnist, talent agent, and booking agent Kandis Knight, is fast becoming a major force within the world of entertainment.

Hailing from Minneapolis Knight’s dynamic organisational skills and strong work ethic led to a coveted position with The Rae Mackenzie Group, an upscale marketing boutique in the heart of Downtown Minneapolis's historic Warehouse District. Knight's mentor Sharon Smith (Akinsanya), was instrumental in teaching Knight about the music business. Smith was also the Vice President of Marketing for Prince and Paisley Park for over ten years.

Knight later moved on to write for The Minnesota Spokesman-Recorder, where she interviewed musicians including Grammy Award-winning artists, and contributed to a  Minneapolis based Hip Hop website. She then swiftly went on to produce her first weekly column, 'Verb, in The Pulse of The Twin Cities', and became a prolific writer, documenting and cataloguing various artists from the Midwest. 

In 2004, Knight had a desire to connect the Twin Cities Hip Hop scene. She began a monthly column called “Kandi-apolis” in The Urban Trendsetter Magazine, an African-American publication, in hopes of disseminating information about artists across the city. Her media influence grew and many people were connected as a result of Knight’s work in the community.

"Kandi-apolis" went on to achieve syndication status, and InBox Magazine (St. Louis) was one of the first Midwest magazines to carry “Kandi-apolis".

However in 2006 after the debut of her first aritcle in The Source Magazine, Knight decided that it was time to venture out in to a larger market and made the decision to relocate to Atlanta, Georgia.

Once in Atlanta, Knight quickly became immersed in to the Atlanta Hip Hop scene where she began to focus on Public Relations full-time. She began writing for Grip Magazine alongside Editor in Chief, Carlton Wade (Source Magazine’s Southern Correspondent), Indiestreet Magazine and others.  “

Upon remembering her first day in Atlanta Knight says,  "My first day in Atlanta, I was sitting in the Grand Hustle offices watching Jason Geter (T.I's manager) ride around the halls on his skate board. I have had many doors swing wide open while in Atlanta”.

In the past, Knight has done public relations work for Alfamega and Grand Hustle’s female group Xtaci.   She has also done public relations work for J Lyriq and Tay Dizm (T-Pain’s Nappy Boy Entertainment) and Raine Supreme (Trina’s Diamond Princess label).

Recently Knight was the Director of Publicity for the hugely successful Hypnotized Tour, and currently represents a multitude of artists, corporations, organizations and non-profit organizations. 

Knight is also a publicist for Street Hustler’s Entertainment (Miami’s Wildman Teddy T), Southern Dynasty Records, DreamStar Talent and Founder/CEO of LuCreative Group PR.
