"Ribery set to sign for Liverpool."

"Benzema set to sign for Liverpool."

"Voronin set to sign for Marseille."

All these couldn't have happened without the help of an "assistant" in the game that is being sought after by most soccer fanatics all around the world. Our assistant is named none other than Fs Fafa. The name, given my the random typing of my fingers on the keyboard, was born 2 weeks ago from this post, helping me sore higher in the game by giving me the best transfers.

How? All he needs to do is to become the manager of whichever club that has the player that I want to get, and from there, I will bid and he will accept WHATEVER offer that is hurled to the club, courtesy by me. Fs Fafa is no human, no robot. He's just a second me. A second me that is willing to do whatever it takes to bring glory to the club. It sucks to just feel that your favourite team is always not winning and you might just want to take matter to your own hands.

And Fs Fafa is there for you. Nationality of all nationality, he can be from anywhere, as long as you call for him, he will be there. And after the whole operation is done, he will retire, go on holiday, or maybe, just maybe, quit the game. Those who play the game will know what I mean. =D.

A Tribute to Fs Fafa, your ever so helpful friend. =)

Pic of the Day: Even ants can't be that helpful to each other. LOL. =)

Actually, July 4 has been a busy day. It's the day Thoreau moved to Walden Point. The day Hawthorne was born. The day Vivekananda, John Adams, and Thomas Jefferson died. The day Alice in Wonderland was first published. The day the Crab Nebula was noticed by the Chinese.

And the day the Republic of the Philippines was proclaimed and independent country.

Really. A busy day.

Do you ever feel guilty not reading enough books or watching enough movies, or just simply not havin

Do you ever feel guilty not reading enough books or watching enough movies, or just simply not having enough knowledge?

Do you ever get in a slump or hit a phase where you cannot get through and complete a thick text or sit through a whole series?

Sounds like we need a short cut! As with other short cut posts in this category, I am not suggesting these methods be used for a life time solution. The short cut is more to temporarily relieve your mind of heaviness and burden, and just to lighten yourself up for a laugh. You can call it justification, call it rationalization, call it distortion, or bending the rules, but it's just a way to put the focus somewhere else rather than coming to the conclusion we won't make it to heaven every time.

Didn't finish reading or watching something? Take a short cut. A big time short cut. Sometimes, not all the time, but sometimes try just not reading it. Next time someone chastises or admonishes you for not keeping up with what everyone is keeping up with, you can say you didn't want to lose your own creativity and individuality. In other words, you purposely didn't expose yourself to the material because you were afraid to be influenced by the interpretation of others; you were afraid of your ideas simply becoming a paraphrase of what you read or watched.

I know this short cut won't hold water over the long term, and it goes against the quote of "standing upon the shoulder of giants," where your own creativity and accomplishments depend on understanding and studying those greats that come before you, but sometimes, sometimes, can we please be allowed to get a little pleasure locking ourselves up in a small space surrounded by four walls with nothing accessible. No books, no manuals, no prescriptions, no top 10 lists, and just see what we come up with.

Teacher? This is why I didn't do this particular homework assignment? Well, this particular teacher didn't give me a zero, but actually made me do a mini-experiment and follow through on purposely locking myself in an area for a prolonged period of time without access to any reading materials or other media. She predicted that in those circumstances, the games and ideas I come up with to prevent insanity will still come from materials I read previously. Though I may create, spin, and interpret differently, I am still dependent on others, even when all alone.

Gosh, so the short cut didn't turn out all that short after all. It may actually be more difficult to right up front put on a stance of not reading something rather than just reading and accepting something passively. Hmmm...not reading actually means reading critically? You still have to read it, to argue why we shouldn't read it or shouldn't be influenced by it?

By the way, she's one of the best teachers I've ever had, and one who influenced me into making use of the short cuts into something more.

If you yelled for 8 years, 7 months and 6 days you would have produced enough sound energy to heat one cup of coffee. (Hardly seems worth it.)

If you farted consistently for 6 years and 9 months, enough gas is produced to create the energy of an atomic bomb. (Now that's more like it!)

The human heart creates enough pressure when it pumps out to the body to squirt blood 30 feet. (OMG gross)

A pig's orgasm lasts 30 minutes. (In my next life, I want to be a pig.)

A cockroach will live nine days without its head before it starves to death. (Creepy.) ...... (I'm still not over the pig.)

Banging your head against a wall uses 150 calories a hour (Don't try this at home, maybe at work)

The male praying mantis cannot copulate while its head is attached to its body. The female initiates sex by ripping the male's head off. (Honey, I'm home. What the...?!)

The flea can jump 350 times its body length. It's like a human jumping the length of a football field. (30 minutes..lucky pig! Can you imagine?)

The catfish has over 27,000 taste buds. (What could be so tasty on the bottom of a pond?)

Some lions mate over 50 times a day. (I still want to be a pig in my next life...quality over quantity)

Butterflies taste with their feet. (Something I always wanted to know.)

The strongest muscle in the body is the tongue. (Hmmmmmm......)

Right-handed people live, on average, nine years longer than left-handed people. (If you're ambidextrous, do you split the difference?)

Elephants are the only animals that cannot jump. (Okay, so that would be a good thing)

A cat's urine glows under a black light. (I wonder who was paid to figure that out?)

An ostrich's eye is bigger than its brain. (I know some people like that)

Starfish have no brains (I know some people like that too.)

Polar bears are left-handed. (If they switch, they'll live a lot longer)

Humans and dolphins are the only species that have sex for pleasure. (What about that pig??)

Yes I know I surprised a whole lot of people including myself by scoring well in GRE. It was one of those moments when the computer understood my hidden brilliance :D unlike in the CS lab where the machines were bent on proving me a retard. So for all those mugging and prepping and slogging their asses off for this exam I will take a well deserved rest from my intern to poke fun at you. Read the next few points in total silence and remove all harmful objects within your reach, otherwise you might end up hitting the poor machine.

1. If you have never read more than 15 books other than your course books, you should drop the idea of GRE altogether. I am telling you now what your Dad will tell you after you give the test "What a f***ing(1) waste of money".

2. If you think with 3 months of mugging up of 3500 words you will end up with a good score*(2) think again shithead. The real preparation starts after you know the usage of atleast 2000 of them and know the meanings of the rest. For the proper usage you should have developed a reading habit back when you were in 8th class or sth started from enid blytons and moved on to the serious stuff gradually. Now its too late. Refer to last line of Rule 1.

3. You think that by doing the high frequency wordlist you can manage a decent score. Hey even the test experts from Princeton Review and Kaplan say that. Well sorry to break your bubble but that is meant for retard american kids who want to improve from 700 to 900 or 1000 and can probably afford to go without scholarship. You, my friend, are advised to pull your pants down, stand on the street corner and bend over if you love getting screwed so much, which is what is going to happen to you on the test day.

4. In the rarest of rare circumstances by a quirk of fate or by hidden genious, you do actually manage to learn all the 3500 words, well rejoice, take a break before the test day and enter the test hall only to realise the first word you get is not from Barrons (this can happen as the list is not exhaustive). What happens next- you start sweating, loose your nerve and end up wasting too much time in guessing and screw it all up. Again Refer to last line of Rule 1.

So you see , pretty much anything you do is redundant at this point of time. And for those of you headed to my home to beat the shit out of me, relax. This post has been written from the nuetral territory of Nederlands. Best of luck for your test ;)

* 1- insert uck in place of ***

2- good score can vary from person to person based on how low you think of yourself. I think 1450 is a good score.

Due to yesterday's supper which consisted of tissue prata and teh tarik, i had a sleepless night.

Studying at 2.30am in the morning is very conducive i must say. Nevertheless, it did hit me that i too, had to get some sleep before school starts.

After tossing and turning for two hours, only then did i manage to fall asleep but awoken again two hours later for school. The surprising thing was, i was quite awake the whole day compared to my dear partners beside me. Ha ha ha.

But even though i was wide awake, i think somehow i wasn't conscious cause i couldn't even do a single simple experiment during Chemistry tutorials. I couldn't even get past the first question. I tried, and i failed. 5 attempts, and i failed all. Though i may suck at Chemistry, you have to admire me for my perseverance. Ha ha.

So the first experiment resulted to several breaking of test-tubes.

Yolanda: (heats the substance and adds lime water in. Test tube breaks.)
Yolanda: Teacher, i got phobia of heating things now.
Natalie: (Laughs)
Yolanda: (Tries again and succeeds.)
Natalie: (My turn to heat and add lime water in. Test-tube breaks.)
Yolanda: (While scrubbing away the substance in her test-tube(successful one), saw what happened to me and laughed out loud)
Natalie: Shuttup la.
Yolanda: (Laughs and laughs and scrubs the fragile heated test-tube a wee bit too hard and it broke.)
Natalie: HAHAHAHA.

Yolanda and Natalie are both left with only 4 surviving test-tubes.

Lay at the balcony with Cindy afterwards while listening to the band, trying to hide away from Mr. De. Why? i have no idea. We had a hearty chat. That, i appreciate.

Nobody goes hungry around this place. We have a chubby little family of sun spiders that we see on our way down the road. "Your fly is down" I laughed, as we tossed him a grasshopper. He zipped it up in no time. Their webs have an intricate zipper design that caught our attention when we first started looking at this place for a future home. We are not bonded to any black widow spiders and brown recluse, but try to avoid housework, so as not to disturb the cobwebs in the corners, in case we ruin a work of art. There is one in the studio that says "Some Pig".

Trousers are very interesting. I'm wearing a pair even as I type this.

They are very useful for covering the lower parts of the body for those occasions when it is unsuitable to be seen walking around town in just a string vest.

You can have long trousers which come down to just above the shoe (more of which in a later blog) or you can wear a variety of lengths dependent on the weather or simply your preference. Trousers which have been cut to above the knee are known as 'shorts'. Shorts vary in length from just below the knee right up to crotch level (essential for those who have incredible legs and the required amount of exhibitionism).

I have about twenty pairs of trousers, including those which accompany suit jackets (more of which in another later blog). Some are more casual than others with the ubiquitous denim jean variety seeing the light of day more often than the others. Some of my trousers have lots of pockets all the way down the side of each leg. These are called 'Cargo Pants' and are very difficult to walk in when you actually stow your 'cargo' away in them. In reality, you'd be best advised to carry little more than a mobile phone, set of keys and a wallet, otherwise you'll find it hard to run for a bus without your cargo pants ending up round your ankles. And, of course, you can carry this bare minimum in an ordinary pair of trousers anyway which rather negates the reason for the existence of cargo pants. I suppose they appeal to those who want to appear adventurous and outdoorsy giving the impression that they've just descended from the heights of Mount Kilimanjaro and trekked for 14 days across the Sahara (which is quite a long walk, I can tell you - actually I can't, but I'm wearing cargo pants at the moment and they are influencing me).

Why are trousers a plural word? Do monopeds wear a 'trouser'? This deeply philosophical question reminds me of the time when Vivian Stanshall and Roger Ruskin Spear of The Bonzo Dog Band went to a Savile Row tailors and asked to see a pair of trousers. They tested one pair for strength by pulling it, one leg each, between them. Eventually, to the horror of the perplexed assistant, the trousers ripped into two separate legs. Right on cue, as organised in advance by these two ace pranksters, a one legged man hopped into the shop and shouted "They're just the ticket! I'll buy both!"

According to Wikipedia, Nomadic Eurasian horsemen/women such as the Iranian Scythians, along with Achaemenid Persians were among the first to wear trousers. and that they were introduced to Western Europe by a clown. A CLOWN! It really makes sense: Trousers were introduced into Western European culture at several points in history, but gained their current predominance only in the 16th century, from a Commedia dell'Arte character named Pantalone (Italian word for Trousers)

Trousers. Where would we be without them?

It might just be me being useless, but I can't seem to find Livedraw on Telegraph online today...again. They really are terrific at hiding regular content from regular readers at the Telegraph. It's probably a ploy to make us trawl through the entire site in search for the one thing we're actually interested in, but it's hardly a clever way of encouraging people to return!

Anyway, all is not lost. It's possible to see the latest installment of Livedraw on Blower's own page, and I'd suggest you do:
