This Bastard reporter has learned that Lucky and Buddy, a mixed breed and a Labrador who were Diane Sue Whalen and Donald Roy Siegfried’s sex trained hounds, will both be taken to a no-kill sanctuary next month for rehabilitation.

These poor innocent pooches are now finally receiving the proper kind of ‘puppy love’.

Earlier this month a judge ordered that both Lucky and Buddy be examined thoroughly by a veterinarian to learn if the dogs would be suitable for rehabilitation and eventual adoption into a loving caring family that will not want to use them as bestial sex toys.

The vet pronounced both dogs physically and mentally suitable for adoption.  Then cut their nuts off.

Diane Sue Whalen’s adult son found more than 150 video tapes of her performing sex acts with both Lucky and Buddy, as well as a blue heeler named Merlin owned by Donald Roy Siegfried.

After viewing all 150 tapes because he ‘just couldn’t stop looking’, and vomiting repeatedly, he turned them over to the Tulsa County Sheriff's Office.

Don and Di were both charged with felony crimes against nature, while only Don was charged with filming the dastardly deeds.

All dogs involved were immediately taken into custody.

When I asked Mr. Siegfried’s attorney how anyone could video tape such sick sexual acts, and more than 150 times, he explained that Don had told him, ‘I just couldn’t stop looking!’

He also told me that while Diane’s son began vomiting while viewing the films, Don Siegfried began masturbating while taping them.

“I know I’m the man’s attorney,” he began, “but he is one sick freak!  And Diane is one dirty kooter!”

A non profit organization, the Oklahoma Alliance for Animals, has said that both Lucky and Buddy are doing quite well and no longer try to hump their human caretakers since being neutered.

The Tulsa County Sherriff’s Office teams with the Oklahoma Alliance for Animals with cases involving animal cruelty.

So if you ever intend to rape an animal, be prepared to face the criminal consequences and the forced humiliation of writers such as myself.

This Bastard reporter is pleased that these two dogs, Lucky and Buddy, now have a second chance at life.

Fear Mongering

Obamabots have bombarded Just Say No Deal coalition blogs with messages that "a McCain presidency would overturn Roe v. Wade". Of all the campaign issues that the Obama campaign could have selected to woo PUMAs, they settled on Roe v. Wade because they (mistakenly) think we're all 'one issue bitter women'. Ha!

That threat doesn't scare us. We're pretty savvy and understand that if Roe v. Wade could sustain 8 years of Bush evangelicals and Republican judiciary appointments, it will survive McCain. 

Technology Attacks

• Several bloggers who share a common trait- they reject Obama- were targeted by Obamabots and shut out of their Blogger accounts. All the 'blocked' blogs were listed members in the Just Say No Deal coalition. Coincidence? No, just Obamabots up to new tricks.
• User identity theft- many established bloggers’ user names were forged in comment threads.   The messages, falsely bearing the users' name or a close proximity of it, criticized Hillary, took aim at PUMA, and supported Obama under the guise of being the regular user.
• Trolls poising as Hillary supporters left the exact same scripted message of "I have seen the light" in multiple comment threads. Because it was scripted, it was easy to spot.
• Since June 13, the PUMA entry in Wikipedia has been the focus of repeated malicious attacks by Senator Obama’s supporters, who continue to add racist, sexist, and blatantly untrue statements, with the intent of slandering our reputation and infringing on PUMA's right to make political statements. The entry has been repeatedly deleted against PUMA's wishesand in spite of PUMA's efforts to protect it. 

Pulling the PUMA Plug

Obamabots have started a petition to "Stop PUMA." They (mistakenly) think we are a 'front' for the Republicans. OMG, can they really be that clueless? Answer: OMG, yes they can!

This is just the silliest and also the most awesome joke PUMAs have had in weeks. Thank you Obamabots. You made us laugh until we almost peed. 

The "Stop PUMA" group believes it can stop a grass-roots organization by collecting 10 thousand signatures. This is too precious. PUMA is a coalition comprised of over 100 separate groups . We have different plans for how to act in Nov. Some of us will write-in Hillary, some will stay home, some will vote a third party, and some will go for McCain. The common trait that holds us together is our opposition to Obama. We all agree to say NO DEAL to Obama this Nov.

PUMA is a month old. We don't have a central office. We don't have a board of directors. We communicate via conference calls, blogs, and email. Daily action items originate from multiple sources. You can't boycott our advertisers. We don't have any. We don't accept grant money, so you can't cut our funding. You can deliver your petition to the RNC, but they'll just laugh at you. We don't answer to anyone there. We are not affiliated with Rush Limbaugh or any other Republicans. 'Stop PUMA' is a great idea (snark).

Now There Are Two

The Obamabots who fight PUMA are now joined by the Democratic leadership. This weekend the Dem leadership formed the H.O.U.N.D (Hillary-Obama-United-Not-Divided) in response to our beloved PUMA movement. It's an organization to promote party unity lead by Ed Rendell.

Ed Rendell is a great Hillary guy. We will love him forever because of his support for Hillary. He had her back in the darkest days when all the MSM were clamoring for her head. He is no Judas. He's an honorable man trying to hold together the Dem party as it falls apart. It's heart-wrenching to have to say NO DEAL to Ed, but on this we must. We will vote our conscience over party. Sorry Ed.

Why We Remain Strong Despite the Attacks 

PUMAs share common traits which make them resistant to Obamabot (and now Dem leader) tactics:

• we don't easily fall for party propaganda
• we tend to question things
• we can harness the power of the Internets to find answers   
• we are resistant to the hypnotic power of Obama's speech 
• we see how strong and powerful we are when we band together for what we believe 

Victory Ahead

The great and wise Gandhi believed 'fight you' was a sign just before 'victory'. We need to stay strong despite these annoying attacks. Our next stop is victory. Go PUMA!

We do not support graft and slums when we believed for years in the honesty of our Democratic Party to solve these things. We do not support Hillary or Bill Clinton being involved with such taint, or such people after all the years and good work they did for the Democratic Party.

It is imperative that we have a President at this time who is willing to take on the graft and corruption that exists in the infrastructure of this country.

We must have urban renewal programs such as those that existed in the 1970's, in order to stave off further collapse of the American psyche. For Westerners to see what inner city conditions look like in Chicago is a disgrace. Not only for the Democratic Party, but for Republican Party and Americans across the board. I refer you to the piece I wrote on FDR's "New Deal" and why I feel this might be a model that is necessary at this time to counteract such blight. Here is a referral to a book that can give insight into this problem, immediately:

I support John McCain for President of this country because I believe he will look to the heart of his hero Theodore Roosevelt in order to solve the problems in the country. He has the stomach and strength of the WESTERN soul behind him.

For years (since Reagan) I have been a Democrat. How naive of of me. Had I known that they have done nothing in places like inner city Chicago? Nothing?

The time to be reforming at present is on our own soil, right in the urban core. It is disgraceful to see this.

What might an urban renewal look like? Across all the blighted areas in the inner cities of our United States?

First, addressing the salvage of empty buildings that can be conserved and renovated as housing. Second, the planting of trees and gardens, as well as the installation of waterworks like fountains which will attract birds and beneficial insects, as well as bees and butterflies. We face colony collapse disorder with our bee population at present. It is imperative that we build an organic model. Projects like gardens give the soul beauty, and harmony as well as teaching a vocation. It is possible to create something out of this ruined blight, because the land is there already.

Second, introduce vocational training as well as the study of the Arts, Humanities, Literature and Music in the schools. How can one expect to have hope in the midst of blight on that level?

I will never support a Democrat such as the one shown in the videos above. His conduct is shameful and disgraceful to me. Hence I put my hope into John McCain and businesswoman Carly Fiorina to put her small business model to work here in our own country.

What's that old expression? You can give a man a fish, or you can give him a fishing pole and teach him to fish, and then he'll have fish for life?

This could be a part of a Conservation Corps, Teddy style!

You can give people trees, plants, seeds and flowers and teach them how to build raised beds so they can help produce food in these blighted places. Flowers are poetry. So are ripe tomatoes. Here is an article on raised bed gardening as practiced out West. It's only a matter or transferring the style to climates in the East. That is what the Progressive Green movement is about, for me. I think it fits with the New Republicans. I can't see how any women wouldn't be disgusted by the inner city imagery above. It is tragic. Tragic to the American soul and psyche.

For all of the millions in tax dollars paid into this country why does it look like the above in Chicago?

For all of the millions raised for this election by the Democratic Party how many packets of seeds, raised beds, trees, shrubs, cans of paint, and electrical wiring could have been bought? How many jobs might have been created to address this problem of deep infrastructural ROT? And deep SOUL sickness?

The Just Say No Deal Coalition Responds

To Gov. Ed Rendell

We’d Like To Teach An Old Dog Some New Tricks

- Online, in Washington D.C. and Nationwide (Press contacts listed at conclusion) - The Just Say No Deal Coalition issues the following response to Governor Ed Rendell’s counter movement HOUND (Hillary-Obama-United-Not-Divided). While we thank the governor for recognizing us as a fluid, viral, viable and ever growing movement— we PUMAs and members of the Just Say No Deal Coalition want to respectfully point out that Governor Rendell and his crew are missing the point.

In HOUND’s credo Governor Rendell states, “PUMA advocated that Hillary Clinton supporters do not vote for Barack Obama just for the sake of party unity…We believe Sen. Clinton supporters should vote for Sen. Obama because, as Hillary herself said so forcefully and poignantly in her great speech a few Saturdays ago the best way to achieve the changes she has fought so hard to bring to America, and on which she based her campaign, is to support Sen. Obama…”

The philosophy on which the Just Say No Deal Coalition was founded is plainly stated as this:

We, as millions of disaffected voters or PUMAs have banded together to form a Coalition of the unwilling. We fervently believe in Country Before Party. If political parties won’t uphold core democratic principles, who will? If the voters don’t hold the parties accountable, who will?

The answer, “We (PUMAs) will at all costs!”

Governor Rendell went on to state:

“We agree with many of your grievances. For example, we, too, believe that the Democratic Party’s nominating process is unfair and undemocratic. We must change the policy where some votes are more important than others and some areas receive more delegates than their number of voters would justify – it violates the spirit of “one person, one vote.” We must eliminate caucuses that are inherently undemocratic and disenfranchise seniors (no absentee voting for those who can’t go to the polls), shift workers and our military. Forcing people to declare their preference in public also violates another cherished principle that undermines our democracy.”

PUMAs again appreciate the heartfelt recognition of Just Say No Deal from Governor Rendell and his group, but it is too late. The damage has been done. We will not fall in line. We will not support a Democratic Party nominee that was selected with a flawed voting process. Reform the process and try to win us back in 2012 Governor Rendell.

Finally Governor Rendell states:

“So, we are asking all PUMA members to curb your disappointment, mute your anger and frustration and join HOUND to help change America. While the PUMA may be more swift and athletic, the HOUND is smarter and more perceptive.”

Again Governor Rendell and crew— you have missed the point. Attempting to insult or undermine us by saying that we have less perception or smarts than you do is counterproductive. We are a diverse group of voters representing ALL ages. We come from all ethnic, socio-economic, religious, political and academic backgrounds; we unite to say (once again), “COUNTRY before PARTY!”

We will not support Senator Obama now or on November 4, 2008. Senator Clinton’s vote is her own; our votes are our own and they will not be cast for Senator Obama. Even though we in HOUND are loyal Democrats, we agree that no one should cast a vote for President because of a desire to achieve party unity. We believe Sen. Clinton supporters should vote for Sen. Obama because, as Hillary herself said so forcefully and poignantly in her great speech a few Saturdays ago, the best way to achieve the changes she has fought so hard to bring to America, and on which she based her campaign, is to support Sen. Obama, whose policies are almost identical to hers.

The Clinton-Obama plans on health care, the economy, energy, education and on ending the war in Iraq represent the core values that made us all Democrats – values and positions that are light years apart from the conservative policies enunciated by Sen. McCain (e.g., voting against S-CHIP, voting against raising CAF standards, voting against equal pay for women, voting for increased tax credits for big oil and against extending the credit for the production of renewable energy, expanding an increase in the Bush tax cuts, promoting a war without end in Iraq, etc.) If you care about these things, and we believe PUMA members do, then you must support Sen. Obama.

No one worked harder than I did for Hillary and I believe no one could admire her and what she represents more that I do. But we must get over our disappointment and, as Hillary said, not waste time looking back and thinking about what might have been. Our country’s challenges must be addressed immediately, not four years from now. Our beloved country simply cannot afford four more years of Republican do-nothing-for-people government. PUMA members risk just that – it could be a Ralph Nader 2000 redux. Don’t let that happen. Close your eyes and think about Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton standing together united at a ceremony for the bill signing of legislation that guarantees every American affordable, effective healthcare.

Nice try, Ed, but HOUND sounds an awful lot like Yellow Dog Democrats and that's exactly what we are not. To be fair, you make a lot of good points. The caucuses *are* un-democratic. And I will admit that you were loyal to Hillary to the very end. Even now, we understand the nature of your loyalty. Hillary's and your identities are inextricably wed to the Democratic party until death do you part. There is a lot to admire in that and the allusion to you not being "high class" is just part of the song and not to be taken seriously. No one has shown more class than Hillary and the stalwarts who stood by her.

But here is what you seem to not understand from the voters' point of view. First, many of us are *not* planning to vote for John McCain. But if John McCain happens to win by default, we will not have a guilt trip laid on *US* for all the floods, famines and earthquakes that follow. The delegates, superdelegates and party leaders had a choice.

You would have us vote for Obama because Hillary asked us to. But, Ed, we are (or were) Democrats. We are not Republicans. If is not in our nature to fall into line when our consciences are on the line. We did it for Dukakis, Mondale, Kerry (we actually *liked* Gore) but we can't do it for Obama. And you unintentionally allude to all the reasons why Obama is an exception in your letter. We have good reason to suspect that he is not for S-CHIP, CAF standards, equal pay for women, reproductive rights, universal healthcare, the Green Economy or ending the war in Iraq. For the last item, as well as preventing our country from falling into an economic disaster caused by financial "instruments" and the high cost of oil, we do not think he is ready or capable of assuming the office of president of the United States. Nothing in his debate appearances or comedic and disrespectful monologues at rally events (Brush the dirt off your shoulder much, Ed? I know YOU would never do it, so why should our nominee?) give us confidence in his abilities. He has deliberately kept his policies as vague as possible as a campaign strategy in order to lure the independent, libertarian and disaffected moderate Republican voters while at the same time slamming working class, Appalachians and the small town voters in your own state.

And let me tell you about those voters, Ed, the ones I spoke with on the phone, hundreds and hundreds of them. They were stung by the accusations of racism that were hurled at them because they didn't think Obama was ready. That hurt them to the core of their beings. It attacked their character. No Democratic candidate in my lifetime has ever treated the voters so disgracefully.

You may have noticed I haven't brought up the subject of sexism yet. The media and others have mischaracterized the PUMA movement as a reaction to it from the post-meonpausal set. But our protest is based on the fact that our party (or former party) did not choose the best *person* for the job. Many of us were early on very intrigued by Senator Obama. But once we got beyond the fact that he is very smart, we saw that there was no wisdom that went along with it. At the same time, we saw that his campaign operatives took a slash and burn attitude to the Democratic party that was in existence. His hooligans chased off or forced off women from the bigger more influential online outlets, yours truly included. I was thrown off DailyKos in January. That's why I'm here. That's why a lot of us have found ourselves on the outside of the party looking in at an ever shrinking voter constituency. Systematically, Senator Obama's hooligans have made women, working class, Appalachians, latinos, gays, native Americans, Asians, Muslim Americans and the elderly personas non grata. Obama sought to recreate the party in a different image, one that didn't include the poor, the dependent, the entitled to social security, the unpopular.

Is this new Democratic party the one you want me and the other PUMAs to rally around? No, Ed. No. The biggest mistake Clinton made during the primary season was not that she didn't win the caucuses. The biggest mistake was that she was too nice to Obama and failed to pin him down. She failed to make him solidify out of all of the ethereal smoke he consisted of. He kept himself and his policies nebulous and indistinct so that his young, pretentious and more conservative voters could project whatever politician they wanted on to him. Forcing him to take a stand on something, *anything* would have broken off a chunk of those deluded voters. But one thing the PUMAs can say for sure is that he doesn't resemble any Democrat we've ever seen nor does he adhere to any of our most cherished core Democratic principles. If he had, he couldn't have attracted so many people not of our party in a year when the vast majority of voters didn't want a Republican lite candidate anyway. Obama has actually squandered an opportunity. The voters were more than ready to accept a strong Democrat and we are giving them, what, exactly?

Either we all go forward together or the party deserves to lose in November. Either Senator Obama connects with the base or he loses them in November. Either the party power elite listens to the voters or it deserves to lose in November. We would be stupid if we demanded any less. We do not subscribe to the old saying, "Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free?" but apparenly Howard Dean, Nancy Pelosi and Senator Obama do.

Here's what we want: We want a fair, open and transparent convention in Denver. We want Florida and Michigan's delegates to be restored to full strength. We want Obama to give up his Michigan delegates. After all, he keeps insisting that he never wanted his name on the ballot in the first place. So, we should honor his wishes: no ballot position, no delegates. After all, if Hillary can't make the same argument about all of the voters who couldn't get to the caucuses in spite of their intent to vote for her, Obama shouldn't get freebies from Michigan by having the RBC honoring the imaginary voters who failed to turn up during a record breaking turnout for the Michigan primary in January.

Jeez, Ed, and you guys call *us* stupid. Logic has been completely missing from this campaign season. By February 5, 2008, Hillary had won MI, FL, NV, NH, CA, NY, NJ, MA, AZ, TN, AR and a handlful of other little states. In any other year, Obama would have thrown in the towel and gone home. In 1980, Ted Kennedy won a big slice of these very same states and with a 600 delegate deficit, he *still* created havoc at the convention. But this year, we couldn't even honor the states that moved up their primaries so that they could make a difference? Like my state, NJ? We are going to a convention where the candidate who has won the biggest Democratic prizes and swing states has been almost completely shut out and you are asking us to accept this, get over our disappointment, anger and frustration? Fine. We're over it. But we still insist, no demand, that our votes count for something. I want the millions that my state spent on a primary in lieu of spending even one dime on gifted and talented education to be honored. The party owes us that much.

And if it goes against their beautiful theories and plans for party unity (shmoonity), if it ends up with a win for a person who they apparently loathe, along with all of that honorable candidate's 18 million voters, well, too bad. They will not get party unity until they honor the voters, Ed.

Pumas are watchful and patient. And when the time is right, they strike. There is still time to achieve unity. There are two months before the convention. But if the voters aren't honored by then, we strike.

After the pencil drawing was finished 'twas scanned and colour tweaked in Photoshop. I'm not a big fan of straight black and white images on a back lit monitor, it just looks a bit harsh.

We spent the day with our pup Cooper at Fort Funston. There were so many adorable dogs to photograph!

After taking the car to the repair shop after work last night we went to dinner at Applebee's and then came home to babysit our beautiful Grandson, Caleb. He was a perfect baby and I told my son and daughter-in-law that they should let me babysit every Friday night. haha Caleb was so sweet. He has discovered that he has fingers so he kept holding his hands up in front of his face and wiggling his fingers. He is making cooing noises at you when you talk to him.

Last night the Basset Hounds really took an interest in Caleb. Anytime that he made a noise they would run over to inspect him. Max had to stick his cold nose on Caleb's head once. After I put him in his little Graco Pack-n-Play crib the hounds kept coming over and staring at him through the mesh. If he made any sound at all Buford would cry and pace back and forth. It was so sweet.  Below are pictures of Max, Buford and Daisy. Yeah I know that Daisy is only half Basset Hound but we are keeping it a secret because she has no idea. lol

I haven't forgotten that I am going to start sharing recipes. As soon as I learn how to categorize new entries I will begin to add them.  I promise.

I went into that exam KNOWING I failed.  I hadn't learned anything, even though this was the second time I studied for CAS Exam 7.  In the 15-minute readthrough I got to question 20 (of 36) and realized that I knew everything asked about so far.  So I feel much better now!  I realize that I will have to do much more during the week, BEFORE crunch time, for the next exam.

I've been cleaning out closets and sprucing up the yard (items on "the list").  I have a giant pile of shoes to donate to Goodwill hanging out on my bedroom floor!  Pictures on the computer are sorted, there are now pictures of BOTH my dogs on the mantel, and "the list" has been moved to my updated and again useful Palm VII.  By this summer, I should have all my projects complete!  Well, not the long-term stuff like rip out the kitchen and start over (10 years away, probably), but I will have lots more guilt-free knit and spin time!  Looking forward to it!

Snuggling with these guys is great stress relief . . . but it doesn't get much accomplished. :)

The botanical gardens feature indigenous plants, including the native rhododendrons that blanket the area. Manicured formal gardens, a dense coastal pine forest, fern-covered canyons, diverse plant collections, and flower-filled coastal bluffs overlooking the blue Pacific Ocean. Located on 47 acres that lie between California's scenic Highway One and the Pacific Ocean, includes canyons, wetlands, coastal bluffs, and a closed-cone pine forest. A moderate climate grows a wide range of tender species which cannot survive the more extreme heat or cold that occurs in other locations. 

We saw incredibly beautiful  rhododendrons of many hues, white, blue, purple, pink trumpet, red, peach, white pearl, white swan, blue peter, president roosevelt and took a lovely walk to the beach/bluffs. You can take your dog on a leash and you could probably picnic with your dog, it says the trail is steep to the cliffs but it was not that strenuous... you go through a gate, and cici enjoyed stalking bugs every step of the way. The long walk did not tire her out as much as I'd hoped, even though we walked about an hour... she still had energy left to play with Gracie, the dog at the Atrium B&B. She ran around the yard, and greeted people (lick lick lick)... 

We stayed in the lovely, cozy and comfy quilt room (one of three pet friendly rooms) with a fireplace, very comfy bed...while I had breakfast of mushroom cheese omelet, fresh fruit and fresh baked banana bread, Cici played outside in the yard with Gracie.

Innkeepers Mary, Gail and Joanna Jenson created the dog park... McDog park on Maple. It took about two years to bring the park into fruition. And came about because of their commitment and dedication and with the assistance of the community, the city and the Parks and Recreation Department. The park has a small dog area and a large dog area, it is entirely fenced and quite a nice size with grass. Soon, they will have a water fountain for the dogs.

Every year there are a few festivals including the Huckleberries and the Hounds, the oldest Ugly Dog contest, and several dog parades and costume parties for the K9's. 

Cici played with about 6-7 dogs at the dog park, and the people and dogs were really friendly (unlike the dogs and owners in Carson City, Nevada)... there was a dog named Zelda, two goldens (huge funny guys), a hound dog, a few others... unfortunately, one dog ruined Cici's day... I had a bad feeling when I saw the dog and sure enough, the minute this dog came inside the park, she and Cici got into it... it was difficult to pull them apart, the owner finally got his dog away from Cici and I left, shaken to the core. Cici's mouth got chewed up a little bit, it was very scary.  She has not let me look at her much. I was able to go to PAWS, and sat in the car for a bit to calm down, take some Rescue Remedy Bach Flowers for shock.  Got Cici a treat and some dog food, which she gobbled up. Then I was thinking what can I put on her mouth, and thought I needed an Aloe Vera plant. We drove by a nursery and I asked them. The woman there at Parker and Jensen I think it was called, gave me a free aloe vera plant. I tore off a leaf and put some on Cici's mouth.  Then I went to the pharmacy and got some hydrogen peroxide to clean the two wounds on her mouth. She was not happy about it but it made me feel better.

Now we are relaxing at the Surf Motel and Gardens ($49 to $250 plus $10 pet fee per night). This is a very nice AAA motel, they even have beautiful gardens and a pet exercise area, similar to the one at the dog park, only smaller. Each room has a fridge and microwave, cable TV, wireless internet, coffee pot and complimentary continental breakfast in the morning (coffee, tea, hot chocolate, fresh fruits and danish). This motel is at the south end of town and it is quiet. The staff is friendly and helpful.  The Harvest market is next door, this seems like a Whole Foods type of market. Cici and I slept well and love being near the beach.  Just the relaxation we needed after the day we had...

The shelter found Finn tied to a dumpster. No one knows how long he was there or who left him there. But he was emaciated. When I brought him home, he was 25 pounds when he should've been double that for his size. (He's now a healthy, but lean, 60 pounds).

But if I'm forced to answer, I'll say he's a boxer-pit mix, with a little hound thrown in. His eyes are pit-like, as are his shoulders. His body is pure boxer, but his nose is distinctly hound. (See pics below.)

When I first moved back to NYC, I met a woman in Central Park, while our dogs were playing. Out of ignorance, I asked what type of dog her dog was. She said brown.

I said I understand.

After having Finn for a year-and-a-half, I still often get asked what type of dog he is. Inside I want to scream because that woman from Central Park was right. Who cares what breed he is?

He's Finn. And he's brown and white.

So I'm a rock nerd, you know those people who know all the words to stairway to heaven, even though they weren't born till 1980 something? Yeh, that's me.

Well, a couple of weeks ago, I got my sweaty little paws on a copy of the limited edition EP from the new band that were three quarters of The Darkness, that are now called Stone Gods.

Said band are fantastic. Heavier, (sound wise, obviously, I don't think anyone's bothered to weigh them yet) than The Darkness, with no sequins, less nob jokes and a distinct lack of the falsetto stuff...they're also probably the only band on the planet apart from a reformed Led Zeppelin that could induce me to fan girlishness.

Anyway, inside the cover of said EP is a lovely bit of blurb about Wish Hounds; big, black, demon devil dogs, and it got me thinking about how cool that'd look and me being me, I drew a fetching picture of said Wish Hounds. Me also being the uber-nerd that I am posted it on the band forum, and after a bit of cajoling from some other fans I sent it to the band on myspace...expecting to be ignored, naturally, cause that's what these rock stars do innit.

Nah, not this band...sent me a lovely message didn't they, saying they thought it was (and I quote) 'totally f*cking ace'. Yeh, yeh, I know, I'm being a fan girly nerd, they're just normal blokes really who just happen to make brilliant records...but come on...rock stars, real ones! And they said something I did was f*cking ace. *squeal* :D

There are a number of interesting things about this.

1. It's at version 1.6 – there have been presumably at least six versions of this.
2. It's nothing but comments – essentially an empty script.

So, essentially they are copyrighting... nothing? Just think of all the copyright infringements. Smithers, release the hounds!
