Well. This was unexpected...

I was surfing around, looking for music as I so often am, and I ran into it.

HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR has made their own version of T.M. Revolution's song 'HOT LIMIT', which is an upbeat, almost funny-sounding song to begin with. Then they took it up an octave or so.

*smothers laughter*

...Well.

That was hilarious. And my brother came in when I found it - he claims I was twitching, which I have no doubt of. Contrary to what one of my friends did, which was fly into a blind rage and destroy her my Bleach DVD, I was amused, and sat back to listen to both versions, T.M.Revolution's first, followed by HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR. There were clear differences in each, and each one was unique to the artist.

Despite this, I'm not sure which one I like better - I think the HaMC version has a more modern feel to it [unsurprising, considering how old the original is], but I like the original with Takanori's voice. Strange.

I'll go ahead and say that if you're a die-hard Takanori fan and you don't want to be insulted or untintenionally amused, don't listen to it. Otherwise, have fun, it's well worth the time to download it or let it load on eSnips.

9. What for...

10. RAIN

11. With YOU

This is HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR's debut album and was released on September 14, 2005. It reached #8 on the Oricon Charts and has sold 67,088 copies.

G∞VER starts the album off with a bang. Rough speaking and guitars, fast paced electronics, and Yuusuke singing "Listen everybody" then transcending into the skies before crashing down. Damn good intro.

The first real album track comes in a package of NOTICE. Maakii singing nicely, the guitars at an appropriate level, well executed drum pats, and Yuusuke singing(!) more in tune than Maakii. The beginning of the verses, the music sounds somewhat tropical (to me). She isn't singing badly throughout, just at the chorus ends. A good leaning-towards-rock pop / rock song.

PRIDE brings rock and a lifting sense after a sort of sad disposition. The faux strings still take the cake for the chorus.

Kicking into a more punk style, Naked is care-free in a mischievous manner. An awesome lower pitched Maakii sings with stylish guitars and drums bringing the punk feel. I love how the melody flows in the chorus, how it makes Maakii phrase her words. Yuusuke speaks in a high leading into a tiny growl were the guitars get a bit hard.

Even happier and harder hitting is OVER. Crash the walls to my bedroom anytime Yuusuke. You'll always be welcome! Over 20 borders, indeed!

Another single? Who cares! After all the 2 tracks of excitement, we need something to cool down with. Days answers the call, a bit sad.

SWEET ESCAPE is puzzling. Yuusuke is seriously out of tune but it doesn't bug me. Maakii gets a little off towards the chorus end, but, again, it doesn't bother me. The music consists of some nice electric chords and playsmanship, drums matching the energy of both vocalist. Yuusuke and Maakii sing together in a great blend.

To singles again? RUN☆RUN☆RUN does just that, runs. Runs with energy in a light-hearted manner and positive lyrics.

I guess summer has ended because What for... is depressing and dark. The heaviest guitars on the whole are found here. Maakii sings a few beginning words while Yuusuke sings the rest. She takes all of the pre-choruses and choruses with band mates 'wowing' before every chorus stanza. The depressing atmosphere never lets up, always weighing down.

RAIN is filler. Electronics, a brighter vibe, nice guitar work, and Maakii singing really good other than that; nothing.

The last track covers for the disappointment for the previous in a beautiful ballad. With YOU opens with low, sad strings that grow in presence with start of the chorus, light drum touches, some guitar strummings, and Maakii's sweet singing. Violins play during the somewhat sad verses, exiting for the strings' entrance. The band instruments play a small role and no Yuusuke. The song is over 6 minutes but for those 6 minutes, I'm pleasantly entertained.

I'm really impressed for a debut album. The singles that led up to G∞VER were fantastic and almost all the album tracks delivered. It's definitely more pop influenced than what I was originally thinking but that's cool to me. There are points of out of tune and / or off-key singing but a fair amount hits where it needs to. Why RAIN managed to make it on here I'll never know. They could use change in place for it. I mean, both are bright, inspiring, the latter more progressive and enjoyable.

Final Grade: A

This is HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR's 4th single and was released on August 17, 2005. It reached #22 on the Oricon Charts and has sold 10,253 copies.

Described as the closing of summer vacation, Days takes the pop vibe of RUN and combines a ballad feel. Yuusuke lightly sings before Maakii takes the mic, complementing the bitter sweet vocals. An acoustic guitar strums behind her, regular guitars enter, and a summer feel permanents the chorus. The final choruses have strings inserted, and Yuusuke's sha la las could have been tuned better. Other than that, it's a nice mellow pop / rock ballad.

Seek has the bitterness turned up and converts to sadness. Dark piano keys, striving strings, and the hard rock edge open. Maakii sings lower, elevating and quicken her pace, leading into the well executed low and heavy guitars. In a way, Seek is a less ominous all alone, putting more an optimistic feel but leaving dangled emotions.

This is HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR's 3rd single and was released on June 22, 2005. It reached #14 on the Oricon Charts and has sold 27,340 copies. The title track was used as the CM song for Lotte's Pure White Citrus.

Running towards the sun, RUN☆RUN☆RUN is more pop than rock. A mix of synths and up-beat guitars, a less noticeable lower pitched Maakii sweetly singing, and Yuusuke reciting English lyrics after the choruses. I do wish those nos on 'Toki egao no' were more supported. A fairly light hearted summer song that finds the perfect feel of pop.

Not taking happy feel of it's predecessor, Hopelessness' stomping guitars rip, electrics squeak, and Maakii sings sadly. Yuusuke fiercly speaks of being close to the edge, not seeing your heart again. A bit lighter the chorus seems but brings the emotional issuses to the surface. Again, she retreats to lower her pitch, a lot better sounding than RUN☆RUN☆RUN. Wicked two guitar solos trading riffs. A great B-side, surely.

This is HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR's 2nd single and was released on April 20, 2005. It reached #11 on the Oricon Charts and has sold 52,989 copies. The title track was Matthew's Best Hit TV's theme song and was previously released on an independent label.

Kicking doors and crashing walls never sounded so amusing (check lyrics). And never such a great way to describe music. OVER starts engertic, guitars heavy, Maakii singing in a lower pitch, Yuusuke rapping fast. Cymbal crashing, and a chorus of 'Go!' before launching to the crazy chorus. Maakii sings faster, the band speeding, and the vocalists exchange replies, shouting cheerfully. A shorter verse follows, wanting to a be a mad breaker (lyrics). A metal interlude rushes with lightning electronics. I can't help but laugh everytime I hear Yuusuke.

Unlike PRIDE, both B-sides are both worthy disc mates. change amps up the energy and pumps it fists in sheer enjoyment. Hard guitars, tough drums, slight electronics, and an energetic Maakii singing happily. More pop than OVER, it strives on encouragement; Take my hand, Do your best, let's make your greatest days. The rolling guitars propel this song forward with both Yuusuke and Maakii supporting.

INSOMUNIA mood swings to indie rock, fercious growlings, and a more serious Maakii singing. There are areas she's off key, especially when trying to hold the lower notes. Low bass, angry guitars, and drum patterns play before a filtered Yuusuke that grows in presence slightly, faster licks, and stronger bass. Maakii reenters to end this song. Unrelated, I won't hear this song performed live!

5. PRIDE ~Real Latin Players Mix~

6. PRIDE ~"Phantom pain" norishiromegamix~

This is a remix re-release of HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR's PRIDE and was released on March 24, 2005. It reached #20 on the Oricon Charts and has sold 18,527 copies.

PRIDE ~Nu school of mixture mix~starts this remix single shaky. Synths imitating R&B beats, weird UFO effects, and echo sounds confuse the living hell out of me. The 'to the skies' feel is removed, Maakii's singing more plain. The remixed chorus fairs better, old rock n' roll guitars take the place of heavy ones. Yuusuke is more audible.

Further we dip into nothingness. It seems PRIDE ~R&B norishiro mix~ never got the memo about replacing a rock oriented song for R&B flavour hardly works. Club bangings (that sounds really weird), electronic bleeps, and background organs(!). Organs like the old horrour movies score. Again, Maakii's voice sounds boring without the soaring feel. Yuusuke's rap is still fierce.

PRIDE ~HAL's MIX 2005~is the kick in the ass this remix single desperately needs. Building on the original, riffs roll in intervals, angry synth rams ahead, and vocals fit even if the soaring feel is gone. The lyric stanzas have small instrumental breaks, the rap more understandable, the deeper dance fades to faux strings and back. The best remix hands down.

The blood pumping action ebbs to slower dance music in PRIDE ~D.D.INOReMIX~. The rock element is removed but slow dance actually works. Flashing electrons, strings in certain ques, and a airy feel whispers. A slight club beat dashes in Yuusuke's part, stronger computerized strings strum, and the sampled filtered voices of the original are at home.

Latin dance and club gradually build to accented scratches and slight synthed guitar strummings. An acoustic bounces in, strings stretching. The vocals are slowed down; the magic and power missing. Some vocals are heard then a big break then vocals enter again. It takes awhile for PRIDE ~Real Latin Players Mix~ to go anywhere, even when it goes, it's taps and dies.

PRIDE ~"Phantom pain" norishiromegamix~ is the perfect eye opener. Playing more to PRIDE than 2005 mix, it shifts and shuffles through added effects. Synth lines and break, a pounding beat, and the soaring music dips. After the opening rap, the start of the original plays with a musicless break at a point. The thumping beat adds in, the dipping soaring enters, the thumps return. Little fallings of sounds drop in Yuusuke's area; at 3:09, it stops. P.S. It comes off as unorganized to some. The D.D. mix could disinterest, as well.

Final Grade: B-

2. Hikaru KAKERA (光るカケラ; Light Shards)

3. all alone

4. PRIDE (Original Karaoke)

This is HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR's debut single and was released on January 26, 2005. It reached #2 on the Oricon Charts and has sold 347,830 copies. The title track was the secong opening theme for Gundam Seed Destiny.

PRIDE is 1st song I've heard from HaiKara. From then on, they became my Ayumi Hamasaki of rock bands. Maakii's lower pitched vocals fly, Yuusuke fiercely raps, and the music glides. Rough guitars and electronics play between each other. A call and response insues, a noticable Maakii and an underneath Yuusuke rapping. A zipping synth enters and wraps around. A faux string synth lifts the chorus to the skies, where it's only taste of reality is the guitars. A stronger rock sound emerges as Yuusuke raps. Seriously, his raps are hard core. There's nothing fake or wanting to be something here.

Hikaru KAKERA is the worst B-side of HandMC's discography. Generic American guitar riffs, an off-key Maakii who's trying to find her pop voice. Yuusuke's rap is filtered, the funky bass chords are underrated, and the drum pats are annoying (though that doesn't mean anything since I have problems with drums). Then the chorus transform into pop / rock. The transitions aren't wrong, it's what used to accomplish this feat is what's wrong.

How does the other B-side fair? all alone builds the foundation of the White House, the Effiel Tower, and still wants a bigger Great Wall of China. Meaning: HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR didn't crap out. Soft synths, slides of electric guitars, cymbal touches create a omnious atmosphere. Maakii sings darkly, the guitar are heavy and the emotional tension ups one with the guitars heavier. One thing I love of HaiKara, the guitars are heavy but never loud. Maakii elevates her voice perfectly, stronger in the chorus, Yuusuke speaking english quietly. The rock element prevailes, Yuusuke softly singing under Maakii. He becomes more prevalent after the chorus, singing and ends shouting gentley. Synths are exiled, guitars buzz, more speaking. Of all songs on here, all alone is a must listen!

I might do this occasionally from now on. I'm not sure. Anyway, 3 little snips on some music:

1) Song: Changin' [D.Gray-man 8th ED]

Artist: ステファニー

Link: http://dailymotion.alice.it/cluster/fun/video/x5z6pe_dgrayman-8th-ending-changin-by-step_fun

Thoughts: When I heard the first 4 seconds of Stephanie's 1st single "Kimi ga Iru Kagiri" (君がいる限り), I couldn't believe she could sing so high. Well, Stephanie's done it again in "Changin'", except this time towards the end of the song rather than the very beginning. It's a rather nice piano ballad-like song, with the chorus rocking it out a bit harder. I dig it; it's not quite Mai Hoshimura's "regret", but "Changin'" stands on its own ground like Stephanie's songs all do. I don't know if I'll make a simfile to this, but we'll see. (I've previously done 3rd ED "Yume no Tsuzuki e" (夢の続きへ), 5th "Anata ga Koko ni Iru Riyuu" (あなたがここにいる理由), 6th "Wish", and 7th ED "regret" before, but I don't consider them my best work, so they aren't present on my blog but can be found at Bemanistyle. 2nd ED "Pride of Tomorrow" and 4th "Antoinette Blue" (アントワネットブルー) received excellent simfiles from desiree.)

2) Full Single: HOT LIMIT

Artist: HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR

Tracklist:

1) HOT LIMIT

2) Kira Kira Summer (キラキラSummer)

3) Mirror (ミラー)

Link: mm..nope. try searching the tosho.

Thoughts:

HOT LIMIT is a cover of T.M.Revolution's 1998 single. Maki does a great job making it sound like a "fun summer song", but Yuusuke's rapping/screaming is weak as hell. This is a common problem throughout the single, which bodes bad. I didn't really dig Kira Kira Summer, and just as well, because when I skipped ahead to track 3, Mirror, I never looked back. Mirror is an excellent rocking song, which many say puts HnMC back at its GooVER roots. Unfortunately, Mirror also suffers from sacriligeously weak vocals from Yuusuke, but I highly recommend this track. It's become my 6th planned simfile for Otaku's Dream 2nd Japan Mix.

3) Album: REFLECTION

Artist: Aira Yuuki

Link: LonE

Thoughts: WE FINALLY KNOW WHAT AIRA YUUKI LOOKS LIKE! After getting addicted to both songs on her true tears ED single, I searched for what she looked like since the booklet had no pics.. now we finally know. Album is highly recommended, although most of it just contains anime singles from the past.

Sorry, no download links :P. Were you really expecting any?

According to their official blog, MAAKII (born Onaga Maki) of HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR got married to D

According to their official blog, MAAKII (born Onaga Maki) of HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR got married to DREAMS COME TRUE's Nakamura Masato and so she'll be leaving the band by the end of 2008.

This isn't an official breakup announcement, of course, and HaiKara is supposedly going to continue their activities - but without Maki, they're pretty much Anti-Nobunaga again, so it's hard for me to think of them as HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR anymore. And as for Maki - congrats if you're happy enough with the guy to marry him, but my mind, personally, is reeling from this. Nakamura turns 50 this year, Maki turns 21 next month. Nakamura also started DREAMS COME TRUE the year after Maki (and I) was born. Before you bring it up - it's almost twice the age difference between Hikki and her ex-husband. The difference between Odagiri Joe and Kashii Yu is also only 11 years. Those cases are sort of understandable, but this borders on cradle-robbing. Then again, the age difference is pretty jarring because she was born in the same year I was. (And I just keep giving, you Internet stalkers.)

Then there's the fact that this announcement came on the heels of Nakanomori BAND's disbandment - what band that debuted in 2005 is next, UVERworld?

Best of luck to both HaMC and Maki, congrats to Nakamura on getting what's practically a schoolgirl wife at his age. I'll be waiting for UVER's announcement.

Artist: HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR
Album: ROCK PIT
Release Date: March 19, 2008

1. Amazing -Prelude of ROCK PIT-
The opening song for this starts off with a nice piano, which I really enjoy. It pretty much surprised me since I was expecting them to rock out with another one of their loud, upbeat songs right from the beginning. It's a nice opening, but eventually they get back into their usual fare of music. Maaki sounds flat at the beginning, and her singing is a little softer than I would have expected from such a song; it lacks energy a lot of the time in the song. However, her pitch gets better as the song goes on. While she is absolutely dull, the electric guitar are really fun to listen in the background. Of course, we have Yuusuke return; I enjoy him a lot of the time because he's really full of life, despite the fact that his screaming can get a little bit annoying. This song is nevertheless a nice, upbeat song, but lacks a lot of energy from the vocalist.

2. Break now!
I didn't even notice we were in a new song until I was like: ... they're suddenly a lot more energetic, and, indeed, I look at the tracklist and we're at a new song. The duet parts in this song are REALLY painful as Yuusuke is really out of tune, while Maaki sounds reasonably better than him. The song is really fun to listen to, but I can't get past how bad the vocalists sound on this track. The accompaniment in this song is really energetic, and well-done, but Yuusuke is incredibly annoying here.

3. TOXIC
This next song focuses more on Maaki, and I like it much more. It's a nicer pop-rock sound, and Maaki sounds quite nice in this track. The instruments play well, and of course, for added hilarity, you have Yuusuke going RAWWWRRRRRR in the background of the chorus. It's incredibly random, but he's not overbearing Maaki's vocal parts, so it doesn't bother me much. I swear, Yuusuke's here to add comic relief in this song. Maaki's not as energetic as I would like her to be here, but she sounds nice, at least.

4. フラッシュバック (Flashback) -digital grain mix-
I really like the electric guitar before the first verse; it's really energetic and incredibly catchy. This is probably the first full song I've liked from them for awhile. It's repetitive, and also very well done in terms of the amount of energy these guys push out in accompaniment and in the vocals.

5. HINATA
HINATA is a lighter, less hyper song from the previous track. Maaki's vocals are actually quite pleasant at the beginning with the minimal accompaniment before the build-up to the chorus. This song is more on the pop side with the lighter, brighter sound, and people saying "Everybody clap, clap!" with actual clapping of hands happening randomly in the chorus. It's a pleasant song, and I quite like it. I could have gone without the out of tune male vocalist in the bridge, though.

6. EARTH
The opening of this song is gorgeous with the light piano, then suddenly Yuusuke comes in with his usual fare, and makes it work really well as the song starts off aggressively. The song mellows down a bit when Maaki comes in with the first verse, and she sounds quite nice. I'm a bit disappointed that there isn't more of Yuusuke's sound in this song, as I was expecting a total loud, aggressive sound from that part. Either way, Maaki makes the rest of the song work well enough, although I get kind of bored of the repetitive sound after awhile.

7. *SKIT*
I really like this interlude. It has aggressive lower guitar sounds, with some percussion. It's much more aggressive with Yuusuke in it, and I really like it. I really like the percussion rhythm in this song over the messy electric guitars playing crazily.

8. ギャンブリング (Gambling)
Yuusuke is back, and goes with his crazy growling scream/rap/fast-talking thing he usually does. It works incredibly well with the song, and again Maaki adds a nice contrast to the more aggressive side of the band to add a bit of pop touch to the song. The song is repetitive, but everything in this song is really fun to listen to. The guitars play with a lot of energy and pulse throughout the song, and Yuusuke, as always, is really lively, while Maaki has a nice voice here that doesn't become dull from singing the chorus the same way several times.

9. メキメキ (Mekimeki)
A similar guitar sound as the previous track continues in this next track, which I don't particularly like. Either way, I do like how Maaki sings in this song as she shows plenty of energy and life in her vocals. As she's the main focus in this song, she does well with the song. In addition, the guitars continue to plays awesomely throughout the song, and I really like breaks in the guitar riffs in this song.

10. ZERO SYMPATHY
The beginning of this song? Absolutely awesome. The guitar starts off with really short, detached notes on a repeated sequence, and it's played really well. It's precise, and played with a lot of energy, and the guitar is consistent. The vocals at the beginning is mostly speaking before Maaki comes in with actual singing in this song. She's a little strained in the vocal parts of this song, which I find lowers the quality of this song. This song definitely showcases the guitars, and I absolutely love it.

11. ROSIER
Apparently this song was originally by LUNA SEA. It features Yuusuke singing, rather than screaming. Of course, he's flat, but he sounds okay in this song. Maaki really adds a lot of energy in this song, however. The song itself is well played as a whole, and enjoyable enough. Of course, we always need more of Yuusuke's random screaming. It's not nearly as enjoyable as some of their other tracks on this album as it's extremely repetitive without much change, and it quickly becomes boring after awhile.

12. 東京ナイト (Tokyo Nights)
This next song opens up with more aggressive guitar, and Yuusuke growling away. I'm amused. And as usual the song becomes more poppy as they start to sing a little bit. The song itself never really attracts me at all. The song doesn't sound bad at all; I just don't feel like hearing this type of song for about the fifth time. No thanks.

13. 手紙 (Tegami)
Maaki starts here acapella, and simply singing "Lalalala" to the melody of the song, with a bit of a filter here. I don't particularly like it as she goes flat, especially near the end of the song. Afterwards, it doesn't really catch my attention. I do like the guitars in the verses for this song, as it adds a bit of a different sound to the song (the guitars sound a little bit different than usual o.o). The rest of the song has been done before, and it doesn't really interest me.

14. 木漏レビノ歌 (Komorebi no Uta) -ROCK PIT ver-
The final track leaves the more electronic feeling that a lot of their songs have for a more acoustic feel. It's quite a nice last track, and I enjoy the change in sound, but again they still don't catch my attention. Maaki's vocals here are decent, but her turning is still questionable at times, and Yuusuke is even worse when he tries to sing. The acoustic guitar is still quite nice, though.

Overall -
Favourite Track: *SKIT*, ギャンブリング
HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR's fourth release seems to have entertained me much more than any of their previous releases so far. The team is generally very energetic and full of life, although Maaki is sometimes a bit monotone. Their songs seem a bit more varied, although their vocalists tend to go flat at times, especially Yuusuke when he decides to sing. Either way, a fairly solid effort from this band, although nothing on this album is out of the ordinary. Still, they're good at what they do.

I first tried this group, when their MV for Amazing had just been released. [Great song that was as well ^^] I've given their last few releases between Amazing and this MV a miss. There's no real reason, I just thought that Amazing would be a one off for me. But I downloaded this, because the MV looked interesting and i really like it ^^. I love the orange star shaped stage the lead singer is standing on. And don't you think she's really pretty? ^^ The MV is really fun and full of life, you can tell they [espesh the leader] had fun when filming it. Enjoy!

You see... I love music. Especially rock music. But not heavy metal (however my bro loves it so apparently i hear heavy metal music from her stereo almost 24/6 yeah, 24/6 not 24/7, because on Sunday we don't usually use our computers too much).

Now I'm currently watching two videos, one is "Here I am" by High & Mighty Color and the other one is "That's What You Get" by Paramore. Their music style is really different, actually (western rock bands and japanese rock bands have different styles; though my mom never knows what's the difference between the two of them, she thinks both are noisy) but we can see some similarities in both bands.

First, Here I am by High & Mighty Color. This is a Japanese Rock band and the song is really good. I like the tune and the lyrics, however Yuusuke might be singing too eagerly in some part of this song; it's not a big problem actually but for people who are not used to Japanese Rock musics, it could be some sort of a bother. (For some reasons I've been thinking that this song is really suitable to be used as a theme song for mu story White Amethyst... Weird huh? I'm so imaginative that I sometimes can imagine things beyond imagination ^^) for detailed lyrics (in romaji, kanji, and also the translation) click here

Second, That's What You Get by Paramore. For some people this song maybe has nothing special but i really like the tune of the intro and also the bridge. And the lyrics really suit my lovelife (T_T) anyway, this song is less 'noisy' then the first one, and also 'easier' to listen. (As in 'easy listening' musics, they're way too easy for me; though I like some of them). I noticed that in this video Haley (the vocalist) sings quite cheerfully, as if mocking people who uses their heart way too much in a relationship and end up hurting themselves badly ^^ yeah, I'll sing the lyrics to *beep* "That's what you get when you let your heart win... Whoa..."

Okay, with the two videos being embed here, I can see a very 'clear' similarity between the two of them; both has female vocalist. Maki （マーキー） and Haley Williams are both female and both have very nice style. Both songs' lyrics doesn't have any 'love' word in it so they're not sappy (I hate sappy love songs; most Indonesian songs are sappy and so plain. Yovie and the Nuno is not, actually; their music is good but their lyrics is SO corny that it barely compares to the good music. Ten to Five's Eien no Ai is quite good, nice Japanese but I still think it's corny, not poetic or somewhere near 'artsy lyrics). Paramore's lyrics is not poetic for sure but I like the way they write their skeptical point of view in a relationship. High and Mighty Color, in this case, shows off their 'rebelling side' with their lyrics. It's close to something called 'artsy lyrics'. In music, Paramore's is simple but catchy; High and Mighty Color is rich but somehow, a bit noisy in some parts. Oh yeah, both bands have a male second vocalist, aside to their first female vocalist.

Overall, both have their own distinct style (in music and, yeah, fashion) and I like them both.

Talking about fashion *grins* I'm going to uni this August and going to uni (to me; aside from studying and get involved in many activities) means you get to express yourself with your style and nobody is going to shout these lines at you "Hey! You! Dye your brunette hair black! It's against the rules!", "Hey! You! Clean the nail polish you're wearing!", "Hey! You! Take off your accessories!", "Hey! You!...." and so on. Since I like Maki and Haley's fashion statement (for Haley, I like her red hair. I don't really like her previous whitey blonde and orange hair. As for Maki, i've never seen her hair in any other hair color aside from brunette and black. So asian ^^), I think I'm gonna infuse both styles...

Do you think red hair and not-so-gothic-japanese-rock style will make a good combo? I think they will. LOL.
