<title><![CDATA[Hybrids and the Anglo Appearance in Aquaintances (a.k.a more nonsensical nonsense)]]></title>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>At the bequest of some of my dorm-mates, I am going to post a blog about **Francesco** and the interesting occurrences concerning him. He looks like the stereotypical Brit, tall, handsome but not vulgar in the least, and with  some semblance of wit about him. Two of my dorm-mates, coincidentally the same ones that wanted me to discuss the fascinating topic, told me some fascinating, fascinating (emphasis of course on the fascination aspect of it - duh) things with regards to his feelings. I am sure they are lying because in general they, much like myself, like to wreak havoc and what better way to do so than to fool around with the love lives of other around them. Quite expected I should, in this age of gossip and fervor.</p>
<p>Francesco, one of the sweetest men I have met, actually appeared to be the cute, geeky kid one wanted to talk with at lunch, however that is not the case. His life is charmed to the extreme: what appears to be innocence is actually debauchery! How interesting! That made me fall in love with the idea of getting to know him; the only problem was and remains to be that I am not that interesting. Actually, that is a lie, I am quite interesting, but I would never tell fellow adolescents about my many sexual, revolutionary, scandalous experience (at least, I wouldn't tell them all) -- for what would they think of me? Francesco is a rich kid, son of hard-working upper-upper-middle class Irish-Americans. His friends look like they just stepped out from ads in Hollister, the Gap, Banana Republic (you get my drift). Thus, I can say with certainty and complete admonition, that his is a charmed life, without a doubt.</p>
<p>As much as I wanted to get to know him, a girl who shall not be named, took his attention from me (actually she is one of the duo deemed dorm-mates at the beginning of the blog -- how ironic if one thinks about it). People say it is her personality to be so open and touchy-feely with the guys, however, I clearly demarcated my territory in a very typically French manner and she (purposefully, in my opinion) went against that demarcation and sought his attention. Now she tells me, he finds me fascinating.... hmmm, there is foul play a-foot and I don't like the smell of rotting fish. (To be frank, though, it really IS in her nature and I hold nothing against her... she is much more fascinating than me, so her attitude is quite acceptable and welcomed.)</p>
<p>As far as Francesco is concerned, I will do nothing and say nothing up front because who am I to talk? Although I must say this, I did see him in his boxers and although it was not spectacular, the event is brag-worthy. I promise I did not look. To give you background as to why I would have possibly seen him in his boxers, I will say just that I woke him up one day; he was actually very cute, cuddling his very expensive Blackburry. He looks like a hybrid of Prince William and Prince Harry, but I must say he has the personality of Prince Harry. Harry is daring and rebellious and the fact that Francesco snuck out to get drunk (or not to get drunk, as he says) at a concert is a typically Harry Windsorian thing to do.</p>
<p>Will he be my friend in the next few days based on mutual fascination (as some claim the situation stands)? Will the attention-grabber grab his attention without allowing me to grab anything (yes, yes, that is a sexual innuendo... how could I not include one in here?) ? Is there enough of a foundation in his moral character to withstand a denouncement on my part perpetrated by this very post? -- These are all difficult questions for a hormonal teenager to ponder while doing absolutely nothing, getting bored, watching British sitcoms (My Family to be specific), and getting ready for bed.</p>

<p>I am actually in the mood for snooping around, finding the address and zagat-rating of Francesco's father's posh, New York City restaurant and eat there. But if they have the words fish, chips, mashers, or any combination thereof on the menu, I will probably commit suicide. I seriously think that ther is an invasion of Irish culture and it would do the likes of me pure Americans (yeah right) well to reject these silly nick-names for real, hearty food. I feel in such a conniving mood, but it really isn't all conniving, for this too is a hybrid of emotions, conniving + hungry, which is increasingly worse because those two moods make some of us do crazy, crazy things. And no one wants me, of all people, trying my hand at crazy because I am way to good at it.</p>

<p>Now, with regards to the change in the name, it is quite simple: Francesco was the first to read the blog in front of my very eyes; suddenly he turned red (even redder than his natural Irish hue) because of heaps of embarassment; I am doing a nice thing and changing the name to Francesco... Voila, my benvolence.</p>

Though neither Nike nor Nigo will comment on this astounding likeness, one can\'t help but wonder if Nike could sue Nigo for patent infringement? "If [a sneaker is] functionally the same but looks a little different, you\'re safe," says Dick Turner, a partner at the Sughrue law firm in Washington, D.C. "Changing things just a little bit will change the look enough where it will be outside of the design patent. To win on a design patent it almost has to be copied." Sneaker companies file for design and technology patents by submitting a drawing to the United States Patent and Trademark Offices. (According to the USPTO\'s website, Nike owns over 2,000 patents.) While design patents are a fairly recent phenomenon, it\'s much easier to file for technology infringement. "Take the [Reebok] Pumps," Turner says. "Anybody else that makes a pump-able shoe is going to have problems regardless of what it looks like. It covers a pretty big area of real estate." And thus it seems that Nigo may continue pumping Air Faux-ce 1s all the livelong day, ay!</p>

For those who believe Nike i.d. is the best thing since shelltoes, peep game. Before sneaker customization went from niche hobby to overpriced mainstream trend, Vans was on it. With its understated designs, Vans may not seem like a beacon of cutting-edge creativity. But don\'t get it twisted; the company started customizing sneakers in March 1966. Founder Paul Van Doren believed in selling shoes directly to customers and allowed them to bring fabric to the factory to be turned into a shoe. "We\'re known for having funky patterns and doing Hawaiian prints, and stuff like that," explains Vans spokesperson Chris Overholser. "And the way that started was people would bring in their board shorts that got too ratty, and we could pull fabric from them and make them into shoes." The company put a halt to its custom business when its factories moved overseas in 1995. In 2004, Vans got back in the game with its website, shop.vans.com. Who want what?</p>
<p><span style="font-weight:bold;">19 </span>Rocky Balboa wore Converse. The "Rocky Steps" at the Philadelphia Museum of Art have his bronzed soles set in concrete.<br />

"Nike makes durable  shoes," says Ebbesmeyer. "Apparently they\'re tougher than the ocean." Now,  Ebbesmeyer tracks their movement. "If you follow the shoes you can follow the  currents." He says a shoe from the spill can drift at an average rate of seven  miles per day. "There\'s 24,000 miles around the Earth at the equator. So  they\'ve been floating long enough to go around the world twice." Dope floats,  indeed.</p>
<p><span style="font-weight:bold;">25 Sneakers got their first shine on the silver screen in 1961.</span><br />
In addition to talking deer and magic nannies, Walt Disney  Pictures was also the first movie studio to highlight performance sneakers. In  the 1961 film The Absent Minded Professor, physical chemistry prof Ned Brainard  invents a gravity defying substance called Flubber ("flying rubber") and  successfully tests it on the struggling basketball team. With a little dab of  Flubber added to the soles of its players\' sneakers, Medfield overcomes a  43-point deficit and defeats rival Rutland College. Knicks fans, relax; movies  are make-believe. You\'ve got about as good a chance of getting your hands on  Flubber as you do getting Starbury and Stevie Franchise to improve their  teammates.</p>
<p><span style="font-weight:bold;">26 Bulletproof?</span><br />
When hip-hop and skateboard culture  converged, it was a no-brainer that some poor skate kid was gonna get shot.  Luckily for Dante Formosa, he was wearing pro Colin McKay\'s signature Havocs  from DC Shoes. On July 4, 2004, Dante-12 years old at the time-was enjoying a  Philadelphia fireworks show when shots rang out. "I looked down and saw a hole  in my shoe. I took my shoe off. It was all bloody," Dante told NBC News. "My  friend pulled out a bullet." Apparently DC\'s rugged design, meant to protect  from grip-tape abuse, slowed the stray bullet. Dante was wounded, but it could  have been much worse. "I am happy that our durability can stop a bullet; my next  shoe will have Kevlar sides just for that reason," jokes Colin McKay. "Oh, and  they will work well for skating, too." While never intending to produce a shoe  that could withstand a blast of lead, DC does build skate shoes tough enough to  handle the rigors of skateboarding. "We test our kicks in the most abusive way  possible-with a skateboard," says DC Founder and Chief Brand Officer Ken Block.  He wouldn\'t comment on the possibility of stealing G-Unit from RBK.</p>
<p><span style="font-weight:bold;">27 The Beatles felt Nike subverted their "Revolution."</span><br />
In 1987, Nike used the Beatles song "Revolution" in a commercial  after reportedly paying Capitol Records Inc. $250,000 for the North American  licensing rights. Apple Records, the Beatles\' recording company across the  pond, had adamantly opposed the transaction and sued Nike Inc., Capitol Records  Inc., EMI Records Inc., and the Wieden+Kennedy advertising agency for $15  million. Capitol-EMI said that Apple director and shareholder Yoko Ono had  supported the deal. An out-of-court settlement eventually resolved a tangled web  of lawsuits between the Beatles and their American and British record companies,  and the terms have been kept secret. In March 1988, Nike stopped airing ads  featuring "Revolution." When in doubt, blame Yoko. (JM)</p>

It is not the first computer shoe, however. In 1984, the Adidas  Micropacer boasted a digital pedometer in the tongue that displayed distance,  time, average speed, and caloric expenditure. By 1985, the more complex Puma RS  featured a computerized pedometer that could transfer data to an Apple IIe or  Commodore 64 after the run. With improved technology, now humans can serve their  computer masters even while running from them!</p>
<p><span style="font-weight:bold;">38 Footloose</span><br />
Eccentric, 6\'11" NBA center Darryl  "Chocolate Thunder" Dawkins was a true pioneer. In 1975 he was the first high  school player to go directly to the league, and he made history by shattering a  backboard with a dunk in 1979. His oddest groundbreaking came in \'82, when the  Nike-endorsed behemoth was offered money by rival brand Pony. Instead of taking  sides, he took the money and wore one shoe from each company (Nike wasn\'t  amused and promptly dumped Dawkins). Okay, considering that Dawkins claimed to  hail from the planet Lovetron, where his girl Juicy Lucy still lived, it may not  have been his oddest moment.</p>
<p><span style="font-weight:bold;">39</span> The name Adidas was  derived from its founder, Adolf "Adi" Dassler. Puma was started by Rudolf  Dassler, Adi\'s brother, in 1948, after the two had a personal falling out.<br />

"When we took  prototypes out, we had the manual pump and the new version," says Bill McInnis,  Reebok\'s Director of Advanced Concepts. "Everybody picked the pump ball first,  but once they tried [the Romulus] on, the conversion rate was 100 percent."  Still, neither guarantees a Slam Dunk title.</p>

The underdog West German soccer team was down 2-0 to  Hungary\'s "Mighty Magyars"-undefeated since 1950-and having trouble with the  stadium\'s sloppy turf. "Adi had a very close relationship with the team and  worked with them," says Ben Pruess, Global Head of Heritage for Adidas. "He  introduced a new piece of footwear with a screw-in stud, which gave players  better traction." Germany pounced with two quick goals to tie the match 2-2, and  with six minutes left, Helmut Rahn scored the game winner after Hungary\'s  keeper slipped on the wet grass. It was Germany\'s first World Cup, but more  importantly, inspired a nation devastated by war. "This sporting event really  gave them pride," Pruess says. Proof positive, a dramatic feature about events  surrounding the game, Das Wunder Von Bern, was released in Germany in 2003.  Adidas is for the children!</p>

After seeing Run\'s "Time For A Change" Phat Farm  sneaker campaign and undergoing personal revelations (he recently discovered  that he was adopted), D went searching for a shoe that would match his new  persona. When a friend brought him to Le Coq Sportif\'s showroom, he immediately  knew he\'d found a sneaker for an older Darryl "DMC" McDaniels. "In the \'80s, I  was always afraid to mess with it because it was too fly for me," D remembers.  "I can get fly now." While artists like the Fresh Prince and LL Cool J were  known to rock the triangle rooster in the \'80s, the brand (which was actually  owned by Adidas until 1995) has been largely unknown to American consumers in  the last 10 years. "DMC is known for making Adidas what it is today," says  Jennifer Delevante, Marketing Communications Director of newly launched Le Coq  Sportif North America. "He considered Adidas to be part of his great past, but  he\'s reinventing himself, and he needed something new. He\'s become a brand  ambassador." Garcia, famous for hosting Stretch  Armstrong\'s popular \'90s college radio show, penned the groundbreaking article  "Confession of a Sneaker Addict" in The Source in 1991, as well as the sneaker  culture tome, Where\'d You Get Those? New York City\'s Sneaker Culture: 1960 to  1987 [Testify, \'02]. The producers had no idea the resulting half-hour show,  which airs on ESPN2 at 12:30 a.m. on Tuesday nights, and features segments on  sneakerhead dons like Flight Club\'s Chris Ridell, and celebs Carmelo Anthony  and Trick Daddy, would expose F-A-B-O\'s F-A-U-X collection. "All the kids on  niketalk.com were like, \'Yo, Fabolous was showing some fake Jordans on the  screen and he didn\'t even know it,\'" Bobbito recalls. "I don\'t think he knows  to this day." The same haters might be inclined to think that Fab\'s kicks  aren\'t the only phony thing about sneaker TV. "You got a host that got  legitimacy up his fuckin\' asshole," says Bobbito, unfazed. "So just sit back  and enjoy it."</p>

In 1971, Hungarian  athletic shoe company Tisza introduced sneakers in communist Eastern European  countries as an alternative to the standard-issue leather shoes. When the Iron  Curtain dropped in 1989, Western brands soon buried the once popular Tiszas.  "Slowly, we are getting over this shock of capitalism and these new brands,"  says 23-year-old Tisza designer Zsofi Fenyvesi. The line was re-released in 2002  and Hungarian youth embraced Tisza, the only fashion and shoe company to design  and produce in their country. It\'s a distinction that also keeps the shoes, um,  limited edition. "It would be great to have products in other countries," says  Fenyvesi, "but it isn\'t worth it because the shoes are produced in Hungary, not  Vietnam, so it cannot be sold cheap." <p>Hip Hop DX recently reported that infamous rap due Mobb Deep, comprised of Prodigy and Havoc, are filing suit against former manager and owner of Street Core Music, Normal "Purfek Storm" Bell.  Bell was manager from May 2004 to November 2007.  During that time, Mobb Deep believes Bell promoted, distributed, and sold unreleased tracks without the proper authorization from the group.  Tracks were released to on several mixtape series' including Mobb Deep: The Infamous Archives and The Purfek Storm Mixtape Vol. 1 and 3.  </p>
<p>Like most disputes between artist and manager in this business, the majority of them could be resolved overnight by looking at the original language in the artist management contract.  However, and this happens way to frequently, Mobb Deep claims that had an "oral agreement" with Bell.  The lawsuit filed states that they "never warranted him the power to distribute unreleased music."  </p>
<p>As hopeful as this sounds for Mobb Deep, all of this could have been avoided if they had an artist management contract.  By laying out the details, roles, and responsibilities of the involved parties, when disputes come up, just look at the contract.  If they had a contract with Bell, it should have explicitly stated what he was, and was not entitled to do with their music.</p>
<p>My advice for Mobb Deep and anyone else thinking about "signing" on with a manager: Get an extremely detailed contract that outlines the roles and responsibilities of the artist and the manager.</p>

<p class="textBodyBlack">JACKSON, Miss. - A Jackson State University official blames pranksters for the mistaken demolition of a house — and everything in it. Owner Annie Wilson of Dallas said trying to get fair compensation has been a nightmare.</p>
<p class="textBodyBlack">Vice president Troy Stovall said Jackson State bought the lot next to hers for potential expansion. He says somebody moved signs with the address and a notice that it belonged to the school onto Wilson's lot — so the contractor worked at the wrong site.</p>
<p class="textBodyBlack">The 713-square-foot house had been appraised for just over $10,000. The school offered Wilson $8,000 in May. She says someone from the state finance department offered $20,000 on Thursday.</p>

<p>Obama's mother was only 18 when Obama was born. This means eve n though she had been a U.S. Citizen for 10 years, (or citizen of Hawaii being a territory), his mother fails the test for at-least-5-years- prior-to Barack Obama's birth, but-after-age- 16.</p></blockquote>

Under jus sanguinis, a person's citizenship is transmitted "by the blood" - by inheritance from his or her parents or grandparents. In the United States, we recognize citizenship through parentage in a number of cases.</p>
<p>But it is not necessary to look to the statutes that deal with citizenship through jus sanguinis, since Senator Obama's citizenship derives from jus soli - citizenship through place of birth.</p>
<p>According to Gotcher, "The Fourteenth Amendment commands that "[a]ll persons born or naturalized in the United States , and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the state wherein they reside."</p>
<p>"This was clarified by the Civil Rights Act of April 9, 1866, which provided that 'All persons born in the United States and not subject to any foreign power are declared to be citizens of the United States.'"</p>

<p>As much as I detest the guy, I hope to hell that the matter of his citizenship continues to be borne out to be true and valid.  Do you have any idea of the violence that would occur over a technicality this late in the game?  The worst of it is that he'd become a martyr.  You can't fight martyrs.</p>
<p>Plus, I think he actually is a citizen, I'm not just saying that because I'm afraid of bloodshed. <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0;">Mad News: On the odd occasion in the past, when you and Havoc visited the UK to perform at sell out shows, due to excitement, your fans here always seemed to end up losing their minds. They would run up on stage to join you and Havoc, and as a result your shows would come to an abrupt halt because things would get out of control.<span>  </span>At the time did you find the fans behavior during your live performances overwhelming and slightly unnerving?</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0;"> </p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0;">Prodigy:<span>  </span>Nah. That show right there in London… everybody jumped on stage, it was so hyped, it was like a riot, it was like a breakout, and the security was scared. We had to act as our own security and s**t. We had to control the crowd. But it was all love. As long as every body shows respect, then we got respect.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0;"> </p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0;">Mad News: Mobb Deep has always had a die hard underground fan base. But when you and Havoc signed to G-Unit many fans didn't hold back when it came to voicing their displeasure at the union via website forums/blogs, and some even flat out refused to purchase the album "Blood Money".<span>   </span>Looking back do you regret some of the decisions that you made business wise during that period?</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0;"> </p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0;">Prodigy: Nope! We sold the same amount of records like we sold before. We do what we do every time around man, so we don’t regret nothing! <span> </span>With the G-Unit deal, we made a lot of money with that. We travelled the world and you know, ‘Blood Money’ went gold.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0;"><span> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0;">Mad News: Is Mobb Deep still very much a part of the G-Unit family at this point in time?</p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0;">Prodigy: Yep! We got the tattoos, 50 got 'Mobb Deep' tattooed on him. It’s not here today, gone tomorrow.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0;">Mad News: I was impressed to read that you filmed a video for every track from your most recent CD, H.N.I.C. Part 2'. These days most artists are lucky if they can get their label to cough up funding for two videos. How did you manage to persuade the label to give you funding for each music promo?<span>  </span>Or did funding come out of your own pocket?</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0;"> </p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0;">Prodigy: Yeah I did everything myself. I recorded the whole album, did all my videos and then just handed in the project to the label. So that’s how I’m going to do things from now on.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0;"><span> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0;">Mad News: Tell me about the DVD that you plan on releasing soon?</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0;"> </p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0;">Prodigy: H.N.I.C.2 the DVD edition, there’s a video for every song on there. It’s crazy. We got some bonus videos on there, some bonus songs. I got the video for ‘Dirty New Yorker’ on the Grand Theft Auto 4 game. I have a bonus song called, ‘Sleep When I’m Dead’. So I got a lot of fire on there.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0;"> </p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0;">The reason why I made the DVD is because my videos aren't made for TV. My music's not made for the radio. So I had to make a DVD. TV is not going to play my videos. They are too graphic for them. My lyrics are too graphic. They might offend a whole lot of people and scare the s**t out of a lot of people. So I had to make a DVD.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0;"> </p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0;">The fans don’t never have to sit there and wait for BET, MTV or any other video channel to play my s**t. They can pop the DVD in and watch it all day, everyday, as much as they want, whenever they want.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0;">Mad News: What is Havoc working on at the moment?</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0;"> </p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0;">Prodigy: Havoc’s working on beats for the whole damn world! He’s always working on somebody’s album.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0;">Mad News: You have two really good blogs, one on Vibe.com and the other on your site HNIC2.com. Admittedly when I first got word that you were blogging I just assumed that this was a case of an artist having a blog, but it was being ran by an assistant, posing as the artist. I was soooooooo wrong! Why did you decide to embrace the Internet and the world of blogging?</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0;"> </p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0;">Prodigy:<span>  </span>Mobb Deep’s been on the Internet game since ‘99/2000’. We were like really, one of the first rappers to take advantage of the Internet. It’s just a community that you have to pay attention to. There’s millions and millions of people all around the world on the Internet. Everybody around the globe is on the Internet, so if you’re not on there, you’re missing out on a whole lot of people.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0;"> </p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0;">A blog, that’s just a new way to communicate, to leave my voice out there for the people. I can write whatever’s on my mind while I’m here in my jail cell, send it home and then it will be up on the blogs Vibe.com and HNIC.com, for everybody to see. It’s my way of reaching the people.</p>

My words have messages in them. Nobody else out there is doing what I do. And if they are, well I haven’t heard about them. So I ain’t really in to checking out people’s blogs.</p>

<p>Now, back to our fictional "journalists." Now, we must admit, when the movie first came out, we were interested because of the "journalist" portion of the movie. Watching an enterprising and engaging young reporter cutting their teeth in the big world.</p>

<p>Unfortunately for Sachs (hehe), all she becomes is a glorified personal assistant. To us, she's sort of the Luke Skywalker to Priestly's Jedi-gone-astray Darth Vader. Don't judge us, please.</p>
<p>Sachs, of course, chooses her morals over the glitz and glam of the fashion magazine lifestyle.  (Oh no! Spoilers! Our apologies) Meanwhile, Priestly stays the same old dead-inside-but-at-least-I'm-still-on-top magazine chief.</p>
<p>In any case, the movie is more about generally following your own path and maintaining your own values/integrity, and that's applicable in any field. It ended a little too cheesy for our tastes, but then again ... Well, we're just saying.</p>
<p>Also, it kind of bothered us that Sachs (Northwestern grad, supposedly impressive clips) felt like she had to slum it to get some journalism cred.</p>
<p>Random Tangent: Oh yeah, before we forget. A couple years ago, we wondered what the hell <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0004266/">Anne Hathaway</a> was doing with her career doing all these kiddish movies like Ella Enchanted and the Princess Diaries. Then out of nowhere she does Havoc and um... shows her Sachs. Then does it again (we hear) in Brokeback Mountain. Now? She's a full-fledged bankable actress. I don't know if anyone's ever achieved the transition from child star to legitimately respected adult actress by showing her goods better and in a shorter timespan than Hathaway.</p>

<p>Last two weeks memang havoc. I did a lot of things and had travelled to lot of places. I also had attended my 4-days skill group enhancement program and shortly after went fo a recce to Ipoh, Cameron HIghland, Sunway, Bukit Tinggi and few other interesting places for my company Family Day Program in 2008. And this week again attending my skill group program which is Project Management line (fyi Skill Group Program is a training program conducted by my company to give training and guidance for us <em>(the doers)</em> in ecah functional skill).</p>
<p>And today I have to attend a workshop or brainstorming session in Kuantan. This 3 days 2 nights program also is a program or initiative of my company to improve work processes in the workplace. But the good things is the schedule is not very tight and maybe I'll have the times to pamper myself with jalan-jalan and shopping-shoppping coz  I've planned to buy 8 Gig Pendrive and few other things.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>One of my favorite hip hop records of all-time is Mobb Deep's <em>The Infamous</em>. Released in 1995, the album helped put the East Coast back on the map at a time when Snoop, Dre and Death Row were stealing the spotlight. Showcasing dark, gritty beats and haunting soul samples, <em>The Infamous</em> sounds like it was recorded in a dim project hallway in Queensbridge. The rugged production is punctuated by Havoc and Prodigy's trademark violent lyrics. To put it bluntly, <em>The Infamous</em> is a classic.</p>
