Ontem, o HCG postou sobre a possibilidade de Halo 4 aparecer na E3, um rurmor do SarcasticGamer. Pois bem, hoje, a CVG diz que um novo jogo da franquia deve aparecer na E3. Para nós, a fonte pode ser mais confiável, já que Gavin Ogden, quem escreveu o artigo, já foi editor da Official Xbox Magazine. O único detalhe é que esse jogo não teria Master Chief. Façam suas apostas: Halo Chronicles ou Halo 4?

  For example, Player R1 is going heads up against Player B1. The end result will be one dead and one alive, however if you include Player B2 into the mix, R1 may possibly kill B1 or B2, and then die. Or B1 and B2 will kill R1 outright whilst they both survive. It is obvious that the best possible outcome is 1 frag and no deaths on a team, by doubling your fire power you strongly increase your chances of victory.

 To execute the group kill tactic and play as a part of a team, players should always stay with their team-mates. I’m not suggesting you stalk them, running side by side (this is actually and extremely bad tactic as well placed grenade will kill you both). The players should work together to obtain advanced weaponry, and then stay together while implementing the Group Kill tactic against the opposing team.

  When faced with single opponents, the Group should attack at once and destroy the opponent, then search the area for more opponents. When faced with multiple opponents, the Group will need to decide on a target, focus their firepower on this target until he is eliminated, then focus on the next opponent, and so on until they are all eliminated.

 The best way to choose a target is have a designated team leader or the person in front call which threat to kill next. I mention the person in front because he may have limited vision, where as if you a behind him you should be able to see any threat they see. You can also choose by selecting those enemies with power weapons.

 If you are running a head of the group and encounter an enemy, as soon as you do you should fall back. This brings the enemy closer to your back up and takes you away from any back up they might have approaching. If you do find yourself trailing someone to close, freeze! Let them get at least 6-8 steps ahead of you. Bullets travel faster than feet, and grenades will hurt you both! Another technique use is simular to what Law Enforcement are trained to. Form a triangle with the assailant. This way you avoid friendly fire and your opponent will never get a double kill, that is, if he even gets one.

  The best way for practicing the group kill tactics is to play a lot of team doubles. Slowly you will find your rhythm and the best way to communicate effectively. I prefer to look at assists not as missed kills, but positive team work.

School
I finished my ENC2210 (Technical Communications) class last week. My final paper received a B. Not my greatest work, but I finished the class overall with a high A. I'm not taking anymore classes until the Fall, which should give me some spare time to learn some PHP programming.

I went ahead and sold back my textbook today so I'm $32.25 richer. I also saw all of my old friends/co-workers while there (I worked at the campus bookstore for many months). It's nice to see everyone again.

I'm not sure how many classes I will be taking in the Fall. At least two, I assume. I'd like to continue working and save up money, but I also need to finish my classes and get my degree in a (relatively) timely fashion. The more classes I take, the less I can work, so it's a balancing act.

Car Accident
Tiffany and I were in a car accident the other day. We decided to go eat out and then hit up the mall. For once I didn't feel like driving, so she took her car and drove. After finishing lunch, we drove out to an intersection and stopped at the red light. A Jeep Liberty was making a left turn towards us, and she didn't yield properly. A big Dodge Ram slammed into her, and consequently pushed the Jeep into Tiffany's Honda Accord. The whole front end is damaged. No one seemed to be severely hurt, although the Jeep lady definitely had some bruises. Now we're just hoping the insurance company doesn't decide to "total" the Accord. We'd rather have it fixed.

It was just a normal and sunny Sunday afternoon. These things come out of nowhere!

Video Gaming
I've been playing a lot of Bully and Rock Band with Tiffany lately. We're starting to get pretty good. In Rock Band we have moved off of Easy and now can play most songs in Medium difficulty. I'm a drummer and she plays guitar. Man, I freakin' love hitting things with sticks in an orderly fashion! Anyway, I am hoping I can eventually play most songs on Hard, but I don't think I'm dedicated enough to be an Expert player.

And as always, I have been playing a bit of Halo 3. Our clan is having an internal 2v2 tournament. My partner Hazy and I have made it to the second round and if we're victorious we will be in the finals.

Work
The web developing is going pretty good. My managers gave us a few extra days off for the holiday which was a nice unexpected surprise. We had some deadlines on July 1st and I've mostly hit them. There are some things on one project that took me longer than expected. I've also been having a little trouble focusing lately at work. I think I just need more sleep and a better breakfast in the morning. Even though I have the longer holiday, I still plan on doing some work from home to get a little ahead.

We called it. From the secret playtesting taking place on Xbox Live, to the hidden coded message in last weeks update, we always knew this was gonna happen. Bungie Day just wouldn't be Bungie Day without some love dealt out by the studio, and this year is no different. In fact, this Monday, we're being spoilt.

The latest Bungie Weekly Update has hit early over at B.net and is literally rammed with tantalising info on all the goodies heading our way next week in celebration of the studio:

Cold Storage will be available for free beginning on July 7, Bungie Day, on Xbox Live Marketplace.

Don’t forget to grab the one-day-only free gamerpics and theme on 7/7.

Beginning on July 7, there will be a 48-hour long seven-player FFA playlist in Halo 3’s Matchmaking where you can turn the calendar back to 2001 and control l Rockets, Invis and Snipe.

For now, Cold Storage will be implemented in regular rotation in playlists that require the Legendary Maps. To avoid confusion, playlists that previously required the Legendary Maps will now remind players that they need “all Maps” to participate, and since Cold Storage is free, it shouldn’t be a big deal for you to grab the map on July 7 and then return to your regularly scheduled business in SWAT.

Additionally, on 7/7, Microsoft is dropping the price of the Legendary Map Pack from 800 spacebucks to 600 spacebucks. That price drop does mean that purchases after 7/7 will no longer include the Bungie Pro bonus.

Other stuff mentioned in the update is the return of the Bungie Podcast; also hitting on BDay, a stern warning to those with modified content and/or hacked saves in fileshare, words of encouragement to all attempting to up theoverall campaign kill count to 7 million; and the tease of something else coming today (our money's on a Cold Storage video).

Get over to Bungie.net and start punching the air. Christmas has come early.

Bungie have delivered on their final promise for the day, posting a brand new ViDOC focusing on Cold Storage entitled 'On the Seven7h Day'. Luke and Shiska have a stab at some homegrown machinima and talk design, differences, pricing and playlists whilst showing off a few of the maps more interesting features.

That's right, Halo is being given the board game treatment. Genius Products and B1 Games are releasing the Halo Interactive Strategy Game, a product Trevor Drinkwater, President and CEO of Genius Products, says is "an incredibly innovative game that mirrors the hit franchise and will truly resonate with fans".

Being one of the most successful video gaming franchises of all time means that you will find a lot of these cash ins, in a variety of different forms. My question is what exactly you do in the Halo Interactive Strategy Game. Honestly, I have no idea.

According to the press release (which you'll find after the jump), the all-new Halo Interactive Strategy Game captures the edge-of-your-seat action and storyline of the video game as it gives players the chance to control UNSC Marine and Covenant forces in strategic battles for power.

So its a battleships type of game I guess. It sounds interesting enough, and it comes with a bonus DVD, no doubt containing mouthwatering goodies for all Halo fans (including myself). The game is set to hit retail in September, no word on whether or not thats a worldwide release date or just a US one.

Bungie has always had a strong connection with it's community, whether it be tailoring custom playlists in Halo 3 based on popular consensus or remaking old fan favorite maps, they are always in the know with what people are wanting from them. So they're latest foray into pleasing the community shouldn't come as too much of a shocker to dedicated fans.

As a continuation of Bungie's almost stalkerish obsession with the number 7, the now annual Bungie Day, July 7th, will once again be adorned with free Bungie-centric content for anyone who calls themself a fan. Free gamerpics, a dashboard theme and a new 48 hour playlist iteration will all be there on 7/7. A new addition this year was something few developers can seem to get away with due to Microsoft, releasing the recently leaked then announced Cold Storage for free.

We do not currently know if this may be a sign for Bungie wrapping production on DLC or if they're just trying something new, either way though it's a welcome addition with the map being so close to the release of the Legendary Map Pack. In the spirit of making DLC more accessible to Halo 3 fans, Bungie will also be discounting the Legendary Map Pack from $10 (800 Microsoft Points) to $7.50 (600 Microsoft Points). It's not much but every bit helps when people might still be on the fence about buying that wonderful product.

Cold Storage, along with the discounted Legendary Map Pack and free Gamerpics and Dashboard Theme will all go live on July 7th, with the Gamerpics and Theme only being available that day.

Expect a hands-on with the map, maybe even a review, next week.

This video walk-through highlights some nice new angles of the map and boy does it look good. It's very present that memory and hardware restrictions are nonexistent when working on such a small, enclosed map, as the graphical fidelity present in Cold Storage is unlike any other map on the game.
