TOP FIVE DISNEY CONTROVERSIES

Over the years (especially beginning with the Disney renaissance of the early 90's) people have been reporting obscene and inappropriate material hidden within several Disney films. Most of these accusations came from kids who would watch these movies over and over again on VHS. How the kids would even understand such content is beyond me, but lets have a look.

5. "Good Teenagers, Take Off Your Clothes!"

From: Aladdin (1993)

With a genie and a magic lamp, it's hard to imagine a teenage boy not wanting some hooters. Even the folks at Disney knew this, or so they say. According to an indistinguishable line of dialog and a couple of dirty minds, Prince Ali Ababwa wants "good teenagers" to "take off their clothes!" Have a listen for yourself!

4. "Nude woman in The Rescuers"

From: The Rescuers (1977)

It will take more than a team of good natured mice to rescue this film from the chopping block. Disney got a lot of flack from this film when a 1999 home video release contained a subliminal message. Apparently, during a high speed chase sequence, the image of a topless woman appears in the background for a split second. We'll let you be the judge.

3. "Phallic image on VHS cover"

From: The Little Mermaid (1989)

Whoever designed this undersea castle was probably a spokesman for Viagra. If you look closely at the artwork on the VHS release of this Disney classic, a phallic type structure is clearly seen in a portion of the castle. Disney claims that it was a mistake. They did not intend the image to resemble a phallus. Sure.

2. "Baby Herman flips the bird"

From: Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988)

In the opening scene of this critically acclaimed marriage of live action and animation, Baby Herman allegedly sticks his middle finger up a woman's dress. The discovery of this frame of animation resulted in many more accusations, including a racist Donald Duck remark, a nude frame of Jessica Rabbit, a dirty message written on the bathroom wall in Toon Town, and drawings of people being murdered on a train. Sounds like these animators wanted to make a different kind of film.

One of the most infamous Disney urban legends is the appearance of the word "sex" in a scene from The Lion King. Most of this story's public awareness comes from the fact that The Lion King is Disney's most popular film. Some claim it's just a message from the special effects team (S-F-X), but the more perverted viewers see the letters (S-E-X). What do you see?

   Conservative pundit Heather Mac Donald systematically disassembles McCain's VP pick and concludes that "conservatives should not sacrifice standards for political advantage."
2. Mickey Edwards (Mon Oct 13):
   Republican Mickey Edwards, formerly a congressman from Oklahoma, distances himself from McCain, saying "today, thanks to a campaign apparently managed by Moe, Curly, and Larry, he comes across as erratic (Obama's word, but it fits), impulsive, befuddled, and ill-tempered, and apparently unable to utter any words other than 'surge' and 'earmarks.'"  Edwards also plays the blame game very explicitly: "If Obama gets a big win, it will be McCain himself, and the Three Stooges calling the shots at his headquarters who will deserve whatever blame is attached for transforming a viable and energetic Obama campaign into a steamroller grinding the Republican Party into the ground."
3. David Frum (Mon Oct 13):
   David "axis of evil" Frum gets his "I told you so" ready at the National Review and rebukes his critics who complain that he isn't cheerleading for McCain enough.  He concludes: "Perhaps it is our job at NRO is tell our readers only what they want to hear, without much regard to whether it is true. Perhaps it is our duty just to keep smiling and to insist that everything is dandy - that John McCain's economic policies make sense, that his selection of Sarah Palin was an act of statesmanship, that she herself is the second coming of Anna Schwartz, and that nobody but an over-educated snob would ever suggest otherwise."
4. Ray LaHood (Mon Oct 13):
   Rep. LaHood, who has represented Illinois' 18th district for seven terms and is retiring in January, told WBBM Radio that Palin should control the racially-charged heckling at her rallies: "Look it. This doesn't befit the office that she's running for. And frankly, people don't like it."
5. Michelle Malkin (Mon Oct 13):
   Michelle Malkin expresses her disappointment in McCain after learning that "John McCain had no problem calling ACORN members his friends during his ill-fated illegal alien shamnesty crusade."  She concludes, "We're Screwed '08."
6. Erick Erickson (Mon Oct 13):
   Erick Erickson, "editor in chief" of RedState.com, is giving up on McCain: "With only a few weeks left until election day, let's be blunt: McCain-Palin '08 does not seem to be making headway against the polling."  He suggests that McCain needs to choose between himself and senate/house Republicans, and suggests that his readers focus on downballot races: "The Republican numbers in the House and Senate can be salvaged, but in the next few weeks there must be a realistic assessment from the McCain campaign regarding winning his own race versus helping Congressional Republicans mitigate their losses."
7. Ed Rollins (Mon Oct 13):
   Rollins, who managed Reagan's 1984 campaign: "And while chaos and disarray reigned supreme in Sen. Barack Obama's opponents' campaigns, the steady, disciplined and strategically driven Obama campaign marches forward toward likely victory."
8. Bill Kristol (Mon Oct 13):
   Kristol: "It's time for John McCain to fire his campaign. He has nothing to lose. His campaign is totally overmatched by Obama's."
9. Lee Terry (Mon Oct 13):
   In Nebraska, a Republican representative, Lee Terry, ran a newspaper ad featuring support from a woman who called herself an "Obama-Terry voter."
10. Linda Smith (Sun Oct 12):
    Linda Smith, Republican chairwoman in Clark County, Ohio. "I have to blame the McCain camp for not pushing it hard enough," added Smith, whose rural county lies between Dayton and Columbus. "It's so ingrained in people's minds that Republicans are good on national security, but Democrats are good on the economy, and it's very hard to counter that."
11. Tom Ellis (Sun Oct 12):
    Tom Ellis, GOP chairman in Butler County, Ohio, a key Republican stronghold in 2004, said there had been "some slippage" for McCain in recent weeks. He said Republicans were finding it "hard to penetrate" the torrent of bad economic news and deliver an effective pitch to independents. And the Arizona senator's attacks on Obama's past links to former radical William Ayers, he said, "do not garner him any advantage" with swing voters. "There's a sense of frustration at this point," Ellis said. "What I hear is people are expecting more of the Republican ticket. They've got to speak directly to the economic issues. People want to hear specific solutions from Sen. McCain."

18. Robert A. Gleason Jr. (Sat Oct 11):
    Robert A. Gleason Jr., the Republican chairman in Pennsylvania, said he was concerned that Mr. McCain's increasingly aggressive tone was not working with moderate voters and women in the important southeastern part of a state that is at the top of Mr. McCain's must-win list.
19. Tommy Thompson (Sat Oct 11):
    Former Republican Governor of Wisconsin, said it would be difficult for Mr. McCain to win in his state but not impossible, particularly if he campaigned in conservative Democratic parts of the state. Asked if he was happy with Mr. McCain's campaign, Mr. Thompson replied, "No," and he added, "I don't know who is."

    Saul Anuzis, the Republican chairman in Michigan, said "I think you're seeing a turning point, you're starting to feel real frustration because we are running out of time. Our message, the campaign's message, isn't connecting."

    Christopher Buckley, son of National Review founder William F. Buckley, and columnist for the National Review himself, endorsed Barack Obama, saying "this campaign has changed John McCain. It has made him inauthentic."

    Bob Eleveld, former Kent County Republican chairman who led McCain's West Michigan campaign in 2000, said: "I'm not supporting either of them [McCain or Obama] at this point. I think the straight talk is gone."

    Former Republican Governor of Michigan William Milliken, who endorsed McCain during the primaries, said: "He is not the McCain I endorsed; he keeps saying, 'Who is Barack Obama?'     Matt Lewis, a contributing writer for the conservative Web site Townhall.com, told CNN the plan only further riles conservatives upset with McCain's backing of the massive government bailout plan passed last week. "Fundamentally, the problem is John McCain accepts a lot of liberal notions, unfortunately. There is somewhat of a populist streak," he said. "Most conservatives really did not like the bailout to begin with, and this was really kind of picking at the scab."

    "We never thought we would defend the Frank-Dodd legislation, which we bitterly opposed last summer. But it looks downright prudent compared to what McCain has proposed. McCain's plan is a full bailout for lenders."

    Noonan and Murphy get caught on an open mic griping about the choice of Sarah Palin.  Noonan says "The most qualified? No. I think they went for this, excuse me, political bullsh** about narratives. Every time the Republicans do that, because that's not where they live and that's not what they're good at, they blow it."  Murphy adds that the choice was "cynical" and "gimmicky."

é irônico que, neste momento, pertença ao partido mais conservador do brasil, à direita da direita, a possibilidade de ocupar pioneirismo nesse campo (isso se kassab for de fato gay, bem entendido). e que marta fique fula da vida também por isso, a sexóloga esclarecida e liberada tendo de aturar o enrustimento covardão do outro.

sim, soam espúrios os ataques petistas. vão-se atrás os tempos em que era o seu maluf que dizia "estupra, mas não mata" e era o sr. josé (o filho da dona serafina) quem tecia armações escrotas (machistas? sexistas?) contra dona roseana (alô, sra. dilma?!, está na fila?!). e, fazendo-de-conta, er, que o prefeito seja mesmo homossexual, nem parece muito justo que o flanco mais vulnerável desse iceberg seja, "coincidentemente", o daquele indivíduo que, "melhor" que vários de seus pares passados e presentes, não se casou para manter aparências, não fez fachada, não contratou esposa ou namorada de aluguel, não providenciou filhotes adotivos (ou legítimos) para apresentar à sociedade durante a campanha, aquele enfim que teria escolhido omitir, mas não fingir.

2. Frutas de la pasión... libres de OGM
Si es verdad. Algunas frutas pueden ser afrodisiacas como el guaraná, las fresas, zarzamora, moras, frambuesas y cerezas, entre otras. Pero ¿por qué no consumirlas orgánicas? Si quieres usar algún producto para encender la sangre, asegúrate que sea libre de transgénicos o pesticidas. Consume orgánico y hazlo en pequeños comercios que están destinados para ello. Hasta el momento no existen suficientes estudios acerca de que los organismos genéticos no modificados consumidos de manera ordinaria en la dieta NO tengan efectos secundarios en la salud. Y por el contrario, se ha demostrado que los transgénicos contaminan las razas nativas o criollas de granos como arroz, maíz o trigo. Y se ha comprobado que algunas variedades de maíz transgénico de Monsanto ha producido cáncer y enfermedades en órganos internos de ratones en los que se han hecho investigaciones.

3. ¿Amor a toda costa?
Las ostras y otros mariscos, como los camarones por ejemplo, pueden ser potentes afrodisiacos, pero nuestros océanos están siendo destruidos en un rango sin precedente, debido a la sobrepesca para obtenerlos. Necesitamos parar la destrucción por el placer. En lugar de eso tú puedes apoyar proyectos sustentables de comunidades en los que puedes encontrar productos, aceites y jabones biodegradables con aromas que encienden la pasión, en lugar de consumir estos. Por otro lado, las ostras son bioindicadores o biomonitores de la contaminación que hay alrededor del lugar en que se pescaron porque acumulan la contaminación. Una ostra limpia es una buena ostra, pero si has de consumirlas, intenta que sean provenientes de lugares no contaminados o de las ciudades costeras muy grandes.

4. Amor reciclado
Usa los envases de diversos productos empaquetados y decóralos de manera linda, sexy o hasta cursi para colocar los productos que utilicen más frecuentemente en su recámara: condones, lubricantes,  juguetes,  cajas de cartón para regalar lencería, etcétera.

5. Usa ecolubricantes
Nada mejor que la lubricación natural. La lengua siempre será un buen instrumento para ello, pero si necesitas usar alguno externo, entonces te recomendamos que nunca uses lubricantes hechos a base de petróleo, como de aceite o vaselina, por ejemplo. Usa los que son a base de agua y otros que son resistentes a ésta como los de silicón. Hoy en día existen muchas marcas que se dedican a la producción de estos, con diversos sabores y aromas para el juego sexual. Emporios como Esso están destruyendo el planeta, pero no permitas que lo hagan a través tuyo y que incluso se metan hasta debajo de tus sábanas.

6. Esclavo de la pasión, no del petróleo
Si te gustan las emociones fuertes, entonces tal vez hayas intentado alguna vez usar algún objeto, ropa o accesorio de Policloruro de Vinilo, mejor conocido como PVC o vinil. El PVC genera algunos de los químicos más tóxicos que existen: las dioxinas y furanos. El uso de este material en los juguetes de los niños ha sido prohibido en muchos países. El PVC de la ropa y los juguetes sexuales también debe prohibirse, pues este componente está hecho con cloro y otras sustancias están consideradas como probables cancerígenos, además de que es un derivado del petróleo. En lugar de eso opta por accesorios de sustancias naturales como el caucho, látex o piel.

7. Ahorra agua en pareja
Hoy, cuidar el planeta nunca había sido tan erótico. Si eligen bañarse en pareja ahorrarás jabón y agua. Recuerda que más de 500 millones de personas no tienen acceso al agua limpia y corriente. Para ellos, lo que tú haces todos los días es un lujo. Si entonces es un lujo, definitivamente deberías compartirlo con tu compañer@ de cama. Esos pequeños grandes placeres siempre es mejor compartirlos.

8. Cama sustentable
Seguramente tienes un buen colchón, confortable y cómodo, pero ¿sabes de dónde proviene la madera de la cama en la que duermes y disfrutas del placer en pareja cada noche? Asegúrate de que sea de madera certificada reconocida por el Consejo de Manejo Forestal (Forest Stewardship Council o FSC, por sus siglas en inglés), la organización internacional que reconoce el manejo sostenible de la madera. En México hay mueblerías como Tip Muebles que  pueden hacer que tu cama no incentive la tala ilegal en nuestro país.

9. Sexo verde
Si te gusta el “spanking” asegúrate que las palas sean hechas de madera sustentable también. Hay muchas marcas en el mercado que puedes encontrar de madera certificada (sobre todo si las pides por Internet), usa aceite para masaje orgánico, ropa interior o de dormir orgánica también. Recuerda que el proceso de producción para algodón convencional y su blanqueado es uno de los más contaminantes que existen.

10. Haz el amor, no la guerra.

Eu tenho uma amiga linda, mulata, opcao numero 1 dos gringos a passeio pela terra da garoa. Um tempo atras a bonita tava meio que de enrosco com um alemao. Cafe com leite, os dois ali no papai-mamae, e eis que, num momento de empolgacao, virou para seu peguete nordico e:

ANCHORAGE, Alaska - A judge has ordered the state of Alaska to preserve any government-related e-mails that Gov. Sarah Palin sent from private accounts.

Anchorage Superior Court Judge Craig Stowers ruled Friday in the lawsuit brought by Anchorage resident Andree McLeod against Palin, the Republican vice presidential nominee.

Palin has occasionally used private e-mail accounts to conduct state business, and her Yahoo accounts were hacked last month. The hacking of Palin's private account was significant because it showed that using private e-mail accounts to conduct state business would be vulnerable to being exposed.

It wasn't widely known that the governor and her staff were using private e-mail accounts until McLeod filed the first of several open records requests earlier this year that yielded some of the e-mail traffic _ much of it redacted for what were deemed privacy reasons.

The judge ordered the attorney general to contact Yahoo and other private carriers to preserve any e-mails sent and received on those accounts. If the e-mails were destroyed when the accounts were deactivated, he directed state officials to have the companies attempt to resurrect the e-mails.

"We shouldn't be in a position where public records have been lost because the governor didn't do what every other state employee knows to do, which is to use an official, secure state e-mail account to conduct state business," McLeod said after the 90-minute hearing.

"It's a dereliction of the governor and her duties," she said.

Assistant Attorney General Mike Mitchell told the court that the governor is no longer using private e-mail to conduct state business.

Stowers ordered e-mails of Palin's staff members who used private accounts to be preserved, as well. Mitchell was unsure if these other employees had also stopped using the private accounts.

Palin's e-mail account with Yahoo Inc. was compromised last month by a hacker who revealed as evidence a few inconsequential personal messages she has received since John McCain selected her as his running mate.

Palin used "gov.sarah" in one of the Yahoo e-mail addresses she sometimes used to conduct state business. The hacker targeted her separate "gov.palin" account. Both have been shut down.

This is one of those crossroads in life we all shall eventually come across.

This was her fate.

She would not slump in a cubicle and let her life slowly become unraveled by financial nonsense.

She slipped her hand into God's and together they turned to face the world. A smile curved her lips.

Flag and flame: Viet Nam received the official flag and flame of the Asian Indoor Games yesterday. Viet Nam will host the event that will attract attention from the entire continent next year. — VNS Photo Quang Thang

HA NOI — Ha Noi’s People’s Committee vice chairwoman Ngo Thi Thanh Hang yesterday urged Hanoians to organise events to promote the third Asian Indoor Games (AIG), which will be held in the capital in November next year.

Hang, who is also the head of the third AIG organisation board, also received the official flag and flame of the Games from Nguyen Danh Thai, standing deputy minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Speaking at the ceremony, Hang said it was an honour for Ha Noi to host such a big sporting event.

"After the success of the 22nd Southeast Games and the fourth ParaGames in 2003, Viet Nam won over the hearts of the Olympic Council of Asia’s leaders, who agreed to grant the country the right to host the third Asian Indoor Games," Hang said.

"Hosting the Asian Indoor Games will also be an honour and a big responsibility.

"It is the time for us to introduce our rich history, culture and potentiality for development of the capital to friends," she said.

On behalf of the city leader and the organising board, Hang asked sportsmen, especially those from Ha Noi, to try their best to win honours at the Games.

She also asked local leaders and residents to upgrade infrastructure and construction serving the event, as well as organise voluntary activities to help visitors to the capital.

Some 5,000 athletes and trainers, and 800 referees, technical staff and sports officials from 45 countries and territories are expected to attend the nine-day event, which features sports that have not yet made it into the world arena.

The third AIG is to have 20 sports and 200 events, including petanque, shuttlecock, pencak silat and vovinam (Vietnamese martial art). Jujitsu and beltwrestling will be demonstration events.

The Co-ordination Committee has strongly recommended that indoor cycling, e-sports and extreme sports be included in the programme. Twelve events will be held in Ha Noi and six in HCM City.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism last October announced the official logo, mascot and song for the third AIG.

The logo will be a torch created by colourful petals. The lotus, with the petals joined together like twisted hands, will symbolise solidarity, friendship and co-operation.

The anthem for the Games will be Thap Sang Ngon Duoc Vi Hoa Binh (Let’s Light A Torch of Peace), written by young composers Duc Tan and An Hieu. The mascot will be a Ho Village chicken, a rare distinctly Vietnamese breed of chicken that is believed to have the five qualities of a man of honour: literary knowledge, martial arts skills, physical strength, humanity and loyalty.

The AIG is a multi-sport event held every two years. The games are regulated by the OCA. The first games were held in 2005 in Bangkok, where Viet Nam finished in 21st place with one silver and one bronze medal. —
