Ik heb er maandenlang naar uitgekeken. De verwachtingen waren immens. Toch werden ze helemaal ingelost. De Gentse Feesten 2008 waren waarschijnlijk mijn beste Gentse Feesten ooit. Als we Walter Capiau en zijn "Goed begonnen is half gewonnen" mogen geloven, dan kon dat ook moeilijk anders. Mijn start, de Gentse Feesten - drink op mijn kot, was een absolute knaller. Gezellig. Feestelijk. Heel feestelijk. Uitgelaten. Verslagjes van het vervolg, staan in de vorige posts.

Mijn Gentse Feesten waren zo briljant door de halfgoden waarmee ik ze mocht beleven. 4 mensen waren een absolute constante (niet toevallig in die volgorde): Stefaan, Joos, Lientje en Geert. Zij gaven mij - Stefaan en Joos vaak samen met hun vriendinnen - deze briljante tijd, zij vallen niet te abstraheren uit een evaluatie van de Gentse Feesten 2008, net als Ewoud trouwens. Het mag duidelijk zijn dat de aanwezigen op mijn post-GF-BBQ niet toevallig gekozen waren. Een zeer bijzondere vermelding ook voor Nicholas, met wie ik het dit jaar op de Vlasmarkt de eerste keer helemaal zag licht worden en voor Pieter en Leen, met wie ik een doldwaze Vlasmarkt-ochtend beleefde. Ook Marc en Marleen zijn bijzonder bedankt voor de heel erg fijne maandagavond en de BBQ op vrijdag, zonder enige twijfel het beste Feesten-voorspel ooit. Stoelekesdanserje Esther was ook erg tof, na de receptie en zondagavond, net als Kathleen, Jonas (zeker in mijn zetel), de immer innemende Ellen en Mattias, die al graag eens de Vlasmarkt afsloot, de zatlap (dit jaar hield hij wel zijn broek aan, denk ik). Ook aan Peter en zijn N-VA-terras denk ik nu al enigszins nostalgisch terug. En de Duveltent was nooit hetzelfde geweest zonder de bezoekjes van o.a. Jeroen en zijn fraaie vriendin, speeltjes-Lien, Ruth en haar Anton-dansje, zatlap Philippe, zatlap Korneel, stoffige Hans, mijn zusje... Bijzonder grappig waren ook niet-trakteerder Bram Spiessens, de gerant van de Duveltent, en niet-kennis Matthias Laevens en bijzonder fijn waren de uitgebreide kennismaking met Frederick en Cedric. Ook verdienstelijk waren: de immer opgewekte Tine, de geinig champagnekurkenknallende Thibaut en de niet altijd zo ratelende Pieter.

Om toch een beetje informatie bij te houden voor het nageslacht, is het nog neerschrijvenswaardig dat mijn top3 qua plaatsen dit jaar (in die volgorde) de Duveltent, de Vlasmarkt en mijn kot waren. De Planchee, waar we een experimentele polonaise inzetten op Paradise By The Dashboard Light (of zo'n andere klassieker, ik weet het al niet meer), valt net buiten het podium. Trouwens: van de Gentse Feesten weet je: grabbelton voor Olympiërs. Mijn top3 der Duveltent-hits was - hoe kan het ook anders, na de goddelijke geste van DJ Alex jegens mijn persoon - Mexico (Zangeres Zonder Naam), Desenchantee (Kate!) en Thank you for the music (Abba), waarbij ik al eens graag mijn micro bovenhaalde. Smsjes, frieten en testosteron was er nog meer dan in 2007.

Deze Feesten werden ook extreem veel tradities bevestigd, zoals het dulle-frietjes-doen, clandestien haasje-over-springen, veel vallen, dubbele Duvels, op-maandagavond-met-Marc-en-Marleen-in-de-Limonada, Laevens opbellen bij Franse chansons... In tegenstelling tot vorig jaar stond de wereld bovendien wél stil tijdens de Feesten. Stil op het tempo van de drie bemiddelaars. Aan de Feesten heb ik dit jaar kennissen die tot vrienden ontpopten, nieuwe kennissen en enkele ruzies overgehouden. Voor gentblogt schreef ik enkel iets over "De Ondernemers". Ge krijgt dat zelf wel gegooglet.

Vele zaken die me overkwamen zal ik waarschijnlijk nooit vergeten zoals het vallen recht in da glas, de Irish Coffee die Pieter als vergeldingsactie over een dame haar arm goot. Vele vragen blijven ook onopgelost. Spreekt Leo Martin in zijn sketches met Gaston Bergmans nu Gents of Antwerps? Is een ondernemer met 49 arbeidskrachten een middenstander? Behoort Lokeren tot het Waaslangt? De Gentse Feesten 2009 hebben alvast hun bestaansreden...

De Islam rukt op in Europa. In de meeste landen heeft deze godsdienst nog geen plaatsje kunnen bemachtigen naast de traditionele godsdiensten die al eeuwenlang de boventoon voeren. Maar hoort de Islam niet gewoon thuis in Europa? Immers, deze godsdienst heeft vele volgelingen, die al generaties lang woonachtig zijn op ons continent.

De Britse sociologe Grace Davie stelde afgelopen maand tijdens een vergadering van Europese kerkleiders het volgende: ''Wij negeren de aanwezigheid van de islam, tot ons eigen gevaar. Dit gegeven kan nog diepere veranderingen in het religieuze landschap van Europa veroorzaken.'' Onder invloed van de islam dringt religie weer langzaam door tot het Europese publieke domein, stelt Davie. ''Europa moet weer praten over onderwerpen die afgehandeld werden gewaand. De islam laat zich niet tot het privé-domein terugdringen, zoals we recentelijk hebben gezien.''

Naast de al eeuwenlang bestaande religies op het Europese continent, lijkt het erop dat de Islam, na het christendom de religie met de meeste volgelingen (1.3 miljard), zijn plek heeft verworven. En dus zal er in dat geval in het straatbeeld naast kerken ruimte gemaakt moeten worden voor moskeeën en moet de burka en het hoofddoekje onvoorwaardelijk worden geaccepteerd en toegestaan. Hoe denken jullie hierover?

In his 1922 Munich speech, Hitler stated "It is in the nature of the Jew to destroy and he must destroy. The Jew is harmful to us." Not unlike Wilders's closing message in his film Fitna, stating "Islam wants to rule, submit, and seeks to destroy our Western civilization..."

Always an interesting read. The basis of the propaganda film Fitna is easy to see - post up the same ayaat the khawaarij and terrorists take out of context and claim this is the true Islaam.

Unfortunately for the film's director, that ideology has already been thoroughly refuted by the scholars of true Islaam over the past thousand years or so. He's basing a film off of a defeated idea grounded in a lack of education and understanding, and a certain bigoted element in the West - completely unaware of the religion of Islaam, unable too read its texts and discourse, and unaware of the history of the Muslim world - apparently thinks that after more than a thousand years, a Westerner who doesn't even speak Arabic has discovered what Islaam is actually like rather than an actual scholar of the religion doing so.

Honestly, I don't understand why Muslims would even be angry over this. I actually find it humorous. The Khaarijee-Ikhwaanee ideology held by people such as Bin Laden and Zawahiri now, and by Sayyid Qutb and Hasan al-Bannaa earlier, has already been owned beyond belief by actual scholars of Islaam. In earlier times, the ideology of the earlier khawaarij had already been eviscerated by scholars at that time as well. Having a Western non-Muslim who has never studied Islaam formally, and who only speaks European languages, suddenly come along and decide what the correct position is just comical. It's a suggestion that is neither logically nor practically sound; his argument certainly wouldn't be given any credence in a real academic setting.

Once again I think Muslims have just made fools of themselves by creating controversy over this. The film is so weak that it honestly doesn't even warrant a second glance. If Zarqawi, who actually does speak Arabic and actually does know a few things about Islaam - the director of the film can claim neither - has already been refuted beyond belief, why even bother with some Dutch movie man? It's like arguing with a spoiled college hippie about Marxism. Why waste your time on him when people much more knowledgeable on that same mistaken idea have already been defeated?

The ummah needs to learn the Sunnah. Were that the case, I have the feeling people wouldn't feel threatened by hack films like this at all. Unfortunately ignorance again prevails amongst the Muslims, and we condemn ourselves to continued foolishness because of it.

I first learned about them and their project last year in the blogs and photostreams of my Flickr friends. I was very happy to see their show today and meet them later. The gist of their American story began last spring when they rented a motor home and traveled America making a very entertaining film about the future of libraries. From New York to North Carolina to Nebraska to California they interviewed people on the street and librarians in their workplaces about the profession, the challenges, and the future. Cleanly edited and mixed with music, the result is slick, insightful, and spiced with humor.

Moreover, it's good storytelling. "If books go away, what will be left?" they asked at one point. Later, in what could have easily been an answer, they said a library's "most important collection is the people." It was fitting that people -- not the books or the technology -- made up the bulk of their film.

Another wonderful line from the film was uttered by Michael Stephens of Dominican University. Asked what libraries will do for people in the future, Michael said the library "will encourage my heart." One of his students gave a description of library openness and access that is simply too long to transcribe here but (trust me) it was terrific.

Back on the stage between clips, Erik, Geert and Jaap hosted a few audience members on their couch, offered them cookies and water, and conducted live interviews to carry on the conversation from the film. Laptops; cameras; a fish bowl; assorted coffee table clutter. It was a very casual affair to say the least. Engaging. Fun. Participatory. In my mind, it was exactly what libraries of the future should be. I loved it.

BTW: There was plenty more to tell about the day, but that's all the energy I've got tonight. More later...

Question:
A Dutch film has recently been released that maligns Islam and Muslims, and describes them as terrorists. What is your advice to the Muslims concerning this matter?.

Answer:
Praise be to Allaah.

Firstly:

The conflict between truth and falsehood is an ancient one. The troops of falsehood continue to confront the truth at all times and in all places. But Allaah caused them to be defeated by the strength of the truth and He hurls the truth against falsehood and destroys it, so it is bound to vanish.

Ever since Iblees was humiliated and refused to respond to the command of Allaah to prostrate to Adam (peace be upon him), he began to plot against the truth and its followers. Iblees asked his Lord for a respite, not so that he could repent, but so that he could plot, and increase the number of his followers and bring them into the Fire of Allaah, where he will stand and address them, saying:

“ ‘Verily, Allaah promised you a promise of truth. And I too promised you, but I betrayed you. I had no authority over you except that I called you, and you responded to me. So blame me not, but blame yourselves. I cannot help you, nor can you help me. I deny your former act in associating me (Satan) as a partner with Allaah (by obeying me in the life of the world). Verily, there is a painful torment for the Zaalimoon (polytheists and wrongdoers)’”

[Ibraaheem 14:22].

Secondly:

Islam has faced many great plots, but Allaah has guaranteed to protect His religion, because He has made it the best of religions and the final religion.

Thirdly:

Here we are dealing with a new incident, but it will not be the last, because of the devils among mankind and the jinn and their ultimately hopeless attempts to impugn this religion, this Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and this Holy Book.

This incident is what has been wrought by the sinful hands of a man called Geert Wilders, the leader of the “Freedom” Party, which is a right-wing, racist Dutch party. He wanted to slander this great religion in order to become well known and to make political gains, but Allaah foiled him and he will be foiled time and again, in sha Allaah. This hater made a short film of seventeen minutes about Islam and the Qur’aan, filled with lies and fabrications, and he called it “Fitnah”! If what he said was presented to an academic institution or university, he would deserve to be rebuked and scorned, because of his lack of objectivity, and because of his distortion of facts.

His film starts and ends with an offensive image of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) that was drawn by the sinful, criminal hands of the Danish artist. At the beginning it shows a bomb in the turban of the so-called picture of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), where the fuse has just been lit. At the end of the film, the fuse has burnt down, then it explodes. Thus he wants to send the despicable message that Islam came to wreak havoc and destruction, and that remaining silent about it will lead to the demise of non-Muslim civilizations and nations.

Fourthly:

We can divide our opinions about this evil film into a number of categories:

1. Verses which are quoted out of context and their meanings distorted.

For example:

(a)

The first verse to be quoted in his film is (interpretation of the meaning):

“And make ready against them all you can of power, including steeds of war (tanks, planes, missiles, artillery) to threaten the enemy of Allaah and your enemy, and others besides…”

[al-Anfaal 8:60].

The quotation reaches this point but does not complete it. He wants to highlight the word “threaten” to indicate that Islam equals terrorism, which is how many haters and ignorant people want to label Islam.

We are not ashamed of what is in the Book of Allaah and we do not deny this verse, rather we worship Allaah by reciting it, and we ask Him to help us to act in accordance with it. But we reject his quoting this part of it on the basis of two things, to keep the discussion short:

Firstly, what he is denouncing Islam for is something that is done by all great and mighty nations. They produce lethal weapons, atomic bombs, planes, submarines and so on, to defend themselves and to threaten their enemies lest anyone attack them. This is what is meant in this verse. The kaafirs who occupy Muslim lands could not have dared to do so except when the Muslims ceased to implement this verse. The most recent example of that is Iraq, where they put pressure on the government to destroy their weapons and missiles, then when that had been done and confirmed, they invaded and occupied the land, and mistreated its people.

Secondly, understanding the context of the verse properly will prove wrong the label of terrorism that he wants to apply to Islam, as he and his gang understand it. The verse which comes directly after this one says (interpretation of the meaning):

“But if they incline to peace, you also incline to it, and (put your) trust in Allaah. Verily, He is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower”

[al-Anfaal 8:61].

(b)

The second verse that is heard in the film is (interpretation of the meaning):

“Surely, those who disbelieved in Our Ayaat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.), We shall burn them in Fire. As often as their skins are roasted through, We shall change them for other skins that they may taste the punishment. Truly, Allaah is Ever Most Powerful, All‑Wise”

[al-Nisa’ 4:56].

The deception here is that this movie director quotes this verse to show viewers that Islam enjoins burning those who go against it until their skin is cooked, and this is something that Allaah has prescribed for them.

This may be refuted on two counts:

Firstly, what he does is a foolish deception, because in this verse Allaah is speaking of the punishment of the kaafirs on the Day of Resurrection, not in this world. It is followed by mention of the reward of the believers who affirm His Oneness (Tawheed):

“But those who believe (in the Oneness of Allaah — Islamic Monotheism) and do deeds of righteousness, We shall admit them to Gardens under which rivers flow (Paradise), abiding therein forever. Therein they shall have Azwaajun Mutahharatun (purified mates or wives), and We shall admit them to shades wide and ever deepening (Paradise)”

[al-Nisa’ 4:57].

Secondly, even the briefest pondering of this verse will show the lies, fabrications and misquotations of this director. In this verse, Allaah says “We shall change them for other skins”. Are the Muslims able to change the skins of those whose skins are burned in this world?!

2. Fabricated pictures, or pictures that do not show what he is trying to prove, or that show things which are denounced in Islam altogether

For example:

(a)

Pictures of a group of Raafidis – Shi’ah – wounding themselves and their children with sharp tools, causing their heads to bleed, in a disgusting scene. This is not part of our religion, rather it is done by some of those who call themselves Muslims out of ignorance and misguidance on their part.

The picture which shows swords being held aloft covered with blood is also an image of the Shi’ah on their special occasions, but the lying filmmaker wants to make people think that these are Muslims and that they have just finished a party where kaafirs’ heads were cut off.

(b)

Another ridiculous and clearly false image is the picture of Muslim women in niqaab waving placards on which it is written “God bless Hitler”!

We say: This is clearly a lie and a fabrication. In our religion we are forbidden to pray for the one who dies a kaafir. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“It is not (proper) for the Prophet and those who believe to ask Allaah’s forgiveness for the Mushrikoon, even though they be of kin, after it has become clear to them that they are the dwellers of the Fire (because they died in a state of disbelief)”

[al-Tawbah 9:113].

How can women who wear niqaab and adhere to the rulings of Islam pray for blessing for Hitler?

3. Video clips, some of which contain facts which cannot be doubted and others contain distortion of facts and deceive viewers.

For example:

(a)

A fabricated meeting with a little girl. It is obvious that they have not presented her or fabricated her story very well, for two reasons:

Firstly, she is wearing hijab, and they are asking her about her religion. It is obvious that she is acting.

Secondly, the child who was acting was asked about her opinion of Jews and Christians and she said that they are monkeys and pigs.

This is not part of our religion; Islam does not say that the Jews and Christians are monkeys and pigs, rather it says that a group of Jews in the past tried to use tricks to circumvent the laws of their Lord, so Allaah punished them by turning them into monkeys. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“And indeed you knew those amongst you who transgressed in the matter of the Sabbath (i.e. Saturday). We said to them: ‘Be you monkeys, despised and rejected’”

[al-Baqarah 2:65]

“So when they exceeded the limits of what they were prohibited, We said to them: ‘Be you monkeys, despised and rejected’”

[al-A’raaf 7:166].

(b)

Showing video clips out of context, such as the clip of a khateeb (preacher) who brandishes a sword and threatens the kuffaar.

This Shaykh is well known. He was Iraqi and he waved the sword during his khutbah (sermon) to encourage the people to fight against the kuffaar who are occupying his country, and he was killed by the Raafidis – may they get from Allaah what they deserve. What does he expect the Muslims to do if their land is occupied? Give up their wealth and their honour, and wait to be killed, or approve and forgive the criminal occupier?! No, Islam is a religion of pride and dignity, and the Muslims refuse to be humiliated; they have no alternative but to fight the occupier. This is confirmed by every religion and law on earth. In fact the leader of the occupation himself said, “If my country were occupied I would fight the occupier.” If we assume that he would indeed fight and not run away, he is only speaking the truth, i.e., that the occupier is to be fought.

What is wrong with the Muslims fighting a jihad against those who occupy their land?

Fifthly:

The main ideas of the film are all aimed at insulting Islam by mocking and making fun of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him); by reviling the Qur’aan and calling it a “fascist” book, as it says in the film; and by warning of the danger of mosques. All of that the filmmaker tries to do in his short film by use of video clips, moving images and the accompanying music, but he fails miserably, because he uses lies, falsification and deceit, which will never be accepted by the viewer, even if he is a kaafir.

But Allaah has caused his plot to backfire, because the people in Holland are rushing to buy Islamic books and copies of the Qur’aan, to see what is in them, and they will see in them that which will show the falseness and fabrication of what this failed filmmaker has produced. This has indeed happened; three people from that country became Muslim after watching the film, and Dutch companies have threatened to take this filmmaker, who is also an MP, to court if Muslim countries boycott their products. Thus this MP will be humiliated and shamed, and the evil plot will not affect anyone but its authors.

Sixthly:

Allaah has clearly supported His religion. Since the launch of the movie was announced, non-Muslim organizations, governments and individuals have denounced this filmmaking MP, and stated that Islam has nothing to do with violence and terrorism, and that Muslims themselves are victims of terrorism as well as others. Among those who have denounced and objected to the actions of this filmmaking MP is the Prime Minister of the Netherlands, who said strong words against it; the Secretary of the United Nations; the European Union; and a number of politicians, leaders and countries. Satellite channels, both public and private, have refused to show this film, and he could only find one web site that would publish it.

In Mufakkirat al-Islam (Saturday 22 Rabee’ al-Awwa; 1429 AH/29 March 2008), it says:

In Brussels, the European Parliament condemned this offensive film, and the President of the Parliament, Hans-Gert Pöttering, attacked the Dutch MP Wilders, saying: The contents of the film seem designed to stir up the religious sensitivities of Muslims in the Netherlands, Europe and worldwide.

He added: On behalf of the European Parliament, I emphatically refuse to accept the film’s message that Islam is a violent religion – indicating that he fully endorsed the statement of the Dutch government which rejected the film “Fitnah”.

Similarly, the European Union issued a statement that it regarded the fifteen-minute-long film as hostile and offensive to Islam, and likely to spread hate. End quote.

As for the Muslims, they took action to denounce and condemn the film, and they issued statements and warnings against continuing to malign the symbols of our religion. Some countries threatened to cut ties with the Netherlands, and MPs in some countries demanded the expulsion of the Dutch ambassador and boycotts of Dutch products. Despite the weakness and disunity in which the Muslims are living, this was regarded as great support for Islam, as there are people among both the kuffaar and the Muslims who are defending our religion. The Prime Minister of the Netherlands himself sent a letter to the Shaykh of al-Azhar, stating that his government objected to the production and showing of this film, and that a case had been brought before the Dutch courts.

How would the situation be if the Muslims were truly united and they had the strength to instil respect and awe in the hearts of those haters and fabricators?

Seventhly:

It seems to us that this lying MP wanted to achieve certain aims by making this film, including the following:

1. Personal gain, fame and victory at the polls.

2. Pleasing the Jews. That is obvious in his film, as in a number of clips he expresses sympathy for them. But they are occupiers and criminals. At the same time as he speaks of killing by Muslims, he forgets or pretends to forget two things:

(i) That the one who burned millions of Jews was a Christian, namely Hitler, who said in his book Mein Kampf that this was on the orders of God!

(ii) That the Jews killed and expelled a great number of Muslims, and they were not ashamed to call their latest battle against Gaza a “holocaust”.

3. Alerting the West to the high percentages of Muslims in their countries, and saying that large numbers of Muslims poses a danger to Europe.

4. Alerting Europe in general, and the Netherlands in particular, to the spread of mosques in their lands. This is clear from his showing pictures of mosques in the Netherlands, to warn of their presence.

5. Attempting to ban circulation of Qur’aans in Europe, and computing the Holy Qur’aan to Hitler’s book Mein Kampf! Hence he describes the Qur’aan as “fascist”, which is a word that is indicative of violence and harshness

Allaah has humiliated this filmmaking MP by means of this pathetic work that is filled with lies and fabrications. People will see the difference between lies and the truth when they read the Holy Qur’aan and what has been written about Islam and about him by the wise among their own people. This film will motivate them to read and find out, in sha Allaah, and perhaps it will be the cause of many being saved from misguidance.

Eighthly:

The basic message of this film is to describe Islam as a terrorist and violent religion. But this is no more than a fabrication. Islam is the religion of mercy, justice and humanity. It is what saved the people of other religions from the injustice and wrongdoing of their rulers, as happened in Andalusia, Egypt and other countries in which people of other groups were badly mistreated, including the Jews.

Israel Wolfenson says:

The minor losses incurred by the Jews in the Hijaz are insignificant in comparison with the benefits that the Jews gained with the emergence of Islam. The Muslim conquerors saved thousands of Jews who were spread throughout the lands of the Roman Empire, and who were faced with all kinds of persecution.

Al-Yahood wa’l-Tahaaluf ma’a al-Aqwiya’ by Dr. Nu’maan ‘Abd al-Razzaaq al-Saamara’i, quoted in an article by Professor Khaalid Joodah, al-Faariq al-Insaani bayna Hadaarat al-Islam wa Thaqaafat al-Gharb.

Islam is not a religion which accepts humiliation, and jihad for the sake of Allaah is one of its main principles and one of the greatest of deeds in Islam. It is prescribed in order to protect the Muslims from their enemies, to convey the religion of Allaah, and to spread the word of Tawheed (divine Oneness) throughout the world. Islam does not say that people must be forced to enter it, because one of the conditions of Islam (being Muslim) is sincerity, and if there is no sincerity then one is a hypocrite among the ranks of Muslims, and Islam does not want this base characteristic among its followers. On the other hand, we find that priests and monks have played a part in forcing people to accept Christianity in Europe and elsewhere, and the numbers of people who were slain in pursuit of this aim is very great indeed; historians say that they are between 7 and 15 million!

Another obvious wrong is focusing on the mistakes of some Muslims who were denounced by Muslim scholars and leaders for killing innocent people and attributing that to Islam – as happens in some clips in the film about the bombs on the trains in London and Madrid and the like. All of that was denounced by Muslim scholars, even though these deeds were a reaction against wrongdoing and oppression. At the same time they ignore those who were slain in the First and Second World Wars in which tens of millions died – 14 million in WW1 and 55 million in WW2. Those wars were not between the Muslims and Christians, rather they were amongst themselves. They did not make any mention either of the people killed in Japan by the American Atomic bombs, or the “Red Indians” (Native Americans) killed by the Americans, or the Asian people also killed by the Americans, or those who were killed by colonialists and occupiers.

They ignore the destruction and terrorism wrought by the crusader attacks against Muslim lands; they ignore what America and its allies are doing today in Afghanistan and Iraq; what the Serbs did with the blessing of the priests in Bosnia; and much, much more. If there are things that history may forget about, it can never forget what the Inquisition did, especially in Spain.

Gustave le Bon says in his book Arab Civilization:

We can only admit that we cannot find such vicious conquerors who should be condemned for unlawful slaughter like that committed against the Muslims!

Fitna and the international community

The 15-minute video, which was denounced by the several governments (including the Dutch parliament of which Wilders is a member) before anybody had even seen it, has led to a worldwide discussion on freedom of expression in a world where, to put it bluntly, pissing off the Muslim community is not a good idea. Several Muslim governments warned that the Dutch would be held responsible for any insults toward Islam depicted in the film, 53 member of the Jordanian parliament have signed a petition calling for expulsion of the Dutch ambassador and an end to diplomatic relations with the country, the Pakistani government blocked its country's access to YouTube when what was claimed to be a trailer of Fitna appeared on the site, due to an error YouTube was unavailable worldwide for about two hours. The film was denounced by UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, the European Union and several European governments, while these authorities acknowledged that Dutch law cannot halt its publication.

The review

The short film basically focusses on everything bad the muslim community has done over the last decade or so. Split up in three parts; the first depicting videos of terrorist attacks and their victims, the second focusing on punishments performed within the Muslim community under Sharia law and the strong anti-adultery and anti-homosexuality policies of the Islam faith, and the final part of the film dedicated to the Islam in the Netherlands and some of the controversy that has surrounded the issue. The film mostly seems to rely on shock value; bodies with severed limbs strewn across the street, videos of the 9/11, 7/7 and other attacks and depictions of beheadings, shootings and other generally gory stuff. These violent scenes are slotted together with quotes from the Qur'an, newspaper headlines and radical speeches by Muslim leaders and convicted terrorists.

In this reviewers opinion, Fitna is just another hate video, portraying Muslim society as a bunch of terrorists by using scare tactics similar to those in Mel Gibson's medieval style Christian film The Passion of the Christ. In my eyes, the film essentially calls for a Jihad style war on Islam and 'Islamisation' in the western world. Though interesting enough if you have been in an eight year coma and missed every speck of media attention Islam extremism has been getting over the last decade or so, the film doesn't really say anything new and instead just goes ahead and pisses off the entire Muslim community without really adding anything.

The future of Fitna

As the video becomes more accessible, it seems like two things are happening. Firstly the Islamic world is starting to notice that the film isn't as offensive as expected since it doesn't depict the predicted burning of the Qur'an or any other new directly offensive content. It seems like Wilders avoided the obvious insults, sticking to politically incorrect statements and suggestions that the religion is causing trouble. The second effect increased availability may have is an increase of threats from those who see the film and actually take it seriously (I know the makers consider the film serious but its obviously just a way to get media attention and right-wing support). We doubt that the film will actually cause or help cause an international war against the Islamic community, especially since everybody has heard its message already. The main question remains: Will Fitna cause Geert Wilders to follow in right-wing politician Pim Fortuyn and radical filmmaker Theo Van Gogh's footsteps and become the victim of The Netherlands' third political assasination in less than a decade?

KUALA LUMPUR 4 April – Kira-kira 200 penyokong Pas berhimpun secara aman di hadapan Kompleks Ampwalk, Jalan Ampang yang menempatkan pejabat kedutaan Belanda bagi membantah terbitan Fitna di sini hari ini.

Penyokong parti itu berjalan secara berkumpulan selepas menunaikan solat jumaat di Masjid bangunan Tabung Haji, Jalan Tun Razak di sini.

Perhimpunan yang diketuai oleh Exco Pemuda Pas, Ridhuan Mohd. Noor itu turut membawa kain rentang yang antara lain meminta orang ramai memboikot produk dari Belanda.

Beliau berkata, penerbitan filem dari negara tersebut mesti dibantah kerana ia menghina seluruh umat Islam.

‘‘Kami hanya mewakili seluruh umat Islam di dalam negara ini dan luar negara untuk membantah penyiaran filem itu kerana Islam bukan agama pengganas,’’ katanya ketika ditemui pada perhimpunan tersebut.

Jelasnya, penyiaran filem Fitna karya Geert Wilders itu akan mengeruhkan lagi hubungan antara negara Barat dengan masyarakat Islam.

Fitna yang disiarkan di Internet pada 27 Mac lalu, mengkritik dan menghina agama Islam dengan menunjukkan surah al-Quran dan berlatarbelakangkan imej pengganas.

Sementara itu, Ketua Polis Daerah Sentul, Asisten Komisioner Ahmad Sofian Md. Yassin ketika dihubungi mengesahkan kejadian itu dan berkata, perhimpunan tersebut bersurai secara aman.

Dewan Muslimat Pas Pusat juga dalam satu kenyataan di sini menyifatkan tindakan Geert menyamakan al-Quran dengan tulisan Adolf Hitler yang bertajuk Mein Kempf, merupakan satu penghinaan besar kepada umat Islam.

Setiausahanya, Azman Athirah Al Junaidi berkata, kerajaan Belanda mesti mengambil tindakan proaktif bagi membendung usaha Geert yang telah mencetuskan kemarahan di seluruh dunia.

Timurnya siapa? Ternyata itu adalah timurnya orang Eropa. Dimulai abad pertengahan dimana saat itu peta bumi belum lengkap terbentuk, maka dibuatlah istilah-istilah itu.

Artinya, negeri-negeri jauh itu berbeda sekali adat istiadatnya dengan para penyebutnya. Asing atau "alien" membuat orang-orang dari negeri jauh itu tak layak jadi bagian dari Eropa.

Ternyata, di zaman teknologi informasi yang memampatkan ruang dan waktu ini, masih ada orang Eropa yang berpikiran ala abad pertengahan. Salah satunya adalah Geert Wilder, seorang anggota parlemen Belanda yang membuat film Fitna.

Film ini benar-benar membuat marah umat Islam, hingga sempat pula memicu demonstrasi di Indonesia. Presiden Yudhoyono sendiri menyatakan kutukannya dan melarang peredaran film itu di Indonesia. Pemerintah Belanda pun melepaskan diri dari kaitan dengan film itu dan menyesalkannya, seraya tetap tidak bisa bertindak apa pun karena melanggar asas kebebasan berpendapat dan berekspresi.

Pada saat hampir bersamaan, terbersit pula berita bahwa novel The Satanic Verses karya Salman Rushdie akan dipentaskan sebagai drama di Jerman. LifeLearner tentu masih ingat kalau mendiang Ayatullah Ruhullah Khomeini menjatuhkan fatwa mati bagi Rushdie karena novelnya itu dianggap menghujat Islam.

Kemarin, ada berita lain lagi dari Vatikan. Justru dari pusat umat Katolik Roma dilansir pernyataan resmi bahwa jumlah umat Islam kini adalah yang terbesar di dunia. Monsignor Vittoria Formenti menyatakan, jumlah umat Islam kini sebesar 19,2 persen dari penduduk dunia. Sementara penganut Katolik Roma hanya 17,4 persen. Bila seluruh aliran (disebut denominasi) Kristen yang amat banyak itu digabungkan , pengikut Kristus memang masih 33 persen. Tapi satu sama lain amat berbeda dalam banyak prinsip. Dan Vatikan bukan pemimpin dari yang 33 persen itu.

Apa yang bisa kita tarik dari ketiga hal tersebut? Adanya kekuatiran pada dunia barat Yudeo-Kristiani bahwa Islam akan kembali menguasai dunia, seperti pernah terjadi pada abad pertengahan selama 14 abad. Zaman itu adalah zaman kegelapan bagi Eropa Kristen sementara zaman keemasan bagi dunia Islam.

Maka, diciptakanlah skenario "Clash of Civilization" sebagaimana dilansir oleh Samuel P. Huntington. Untuk melindungi diri dari "ancaman Islam", dibuatlah berbagai aturan imigrasi yang mempersulit masuknya imigran dari negara Islam. Padahal, barat sangat mengagungkan demokrasi dan keterbukaan, namun itu ternyata hanya untuk sesamanya. Artinya, rasisme masih amat kental di banyak negara.

Ya, saya sudah melihat film Fitna dan membaca novel The Satanic Verses. Filmnya saya tidak punya copy-nya tapi untuk bukunya sudah banyak beredar di Indonesia. Dari keduanya, saya bisa melihat betapa piciknya pikiran para pembuatnya. Mereka diliputi kebencian hingga tidak bisa berlaku adil.

Oleh karena itulah bagi saudaraku sesama muslim, berlaku adillah. Satu hal yang tidak bisa mereka lakukan. Kalau mereka buat novel, buat novel tandingan. Kalau mereka buat film, ayo garap film lagi yang mempropagandakan kebajikan Islam. Kalau karya seni itu dilawan dengan demonstrasi apalagi kekerasan, justru itulah yang dicari dan diharapkan pembuatnya.

Harap diingat, baik Wilder maupun Rushdie bukanlah orang Kristen yang baik, mereka itu ateis. Jadi jangan salah membenci orang Kristen. Juga jangan salah jadi membenci Belanda, Denmark, atau Amerika. Tunjukkan saja akhlakul karimah seperti senantiasa ditunjukkan Nabi. Doa'kan seperti saat Nabi mendo'akan penduduk yang melemparinya, "Ya Allah, ampuni dan berilah petunjuk bagi mereka. Sesungguhnya mereka tidak tahu."

The 15-minute film entitled "Fitna", an Arabic word for sedition or disturbance, portrays Islam as a threat to the Western world. It shows images of violent acts and holds Islam and the Koran responsible for them.

Dutch Prime Minister Jan Peter Balkenende released a statement on behalf of the Dutch government on the day the odious film was posted on the Internet.

The Dutch government banned the movie from being displayed on cinema screens.

“The film equates Islam with violence. We reject this interpretation. The vast majority of Muslims reject extremism and violence. In fact, the victims are often also Muslims,” the statement reads.

“We, therefore, regret that Mr Wilders has released this film. We believe it serves no purpose other than to cause offence. But feeling offended must never be used as an excuse for aggression and threats. The government is heartened by the initial restrained reactions of Dutch Muslim organisations,” Balkenende said.

Judeh said that the government valued the Dutch government’s condemnation of the film.

Geert Wilders, the far-right Dutch MP who produced the film, heads the Freedom Party that has nine seats in the Dutch parliament.

The Dutch government, however, remains on alert for delayed responses to Wilders’ film.

“Sometimes it can take months before the true repercussions are felt," AFP reported Balkenende as saying.

Meanwhile, Dutch Foreign Minister Maxime Verhagen sought to dampen anger through diplomacy and met with 26 ambassadors from the member states of the Organisation of the Islamic Conference, including Jordan’s envoy.

After the meeting, Verhagen issued a statement saying: "I am happy with the moderate reactions we have been getting from the Muslim world." He added, "the rhetoric in some countries shows that we must be alert.”

Alert? Anger? Agression? Threats? Repercussions?

Well, all I can say is it's a good thing all these diplomats aren't "portraying Islam as a threat to the Western world."

• Pemerintah secara resmi melarang penanyangan film berjudul "Fitna", yang dibuat oleh politikus haluan kanan Belanda, Geerts Wilder.
• Presiden juga meminta penyedia internet untuk tidak menayangkan film Fitna dalam situs mereka. Permintaan Presiden ini disampaikan melalui Menteri Komunikasi dan Informasi M. Nuh.
• Media internasional juga diharapkan untuk tidak menayangkan film berdurasi 17 menit ini. "Karena akan mengganggu hubungan antarumat beragama dan harmoni antarperadaban pada tingkat global" begitu ujar Presiden
• Presiden juga mengimbau pemerintah dan parlemen Belanda untuk menghentikan penayangan film itu.
• Pemerintah, melalui Menteri Hukum dan Hak Asasi Manusia Andi Mattalatta, juga mencekal kujungan Wilder apabila ia ingin berkunjung ke Indonesia.

Sikap dan langkah pemerintah menyikapi film Fitna dilakukan menurut Presiden guna mencegah gangguan terhadap kerukunan antarumat beragama di Indonesia dan reaksi lain yang bisa mengancam keamanan dan ketertiban umum.

Presiden juga minta agar aksi perusakan, sweeping, dan kekerasan lain tidak dilakukan. "Islam dan agama mana pun melarang melakukan kekerasan. Kekerasan juga bertentangan dengan hukum di Indonesia," ujarnya.

Kepada masyarakat internasional, Presiden minta agar kebebasan tidak digunakan tanpa batas sehingga merusak sendi-sendi peradaban lain seperti harmoni, kedamaian, kerukunan.

Presiden berterima kasih pada banyak pihak seperti Pemerintah Belanda, Dubes Belanda, warga Belanda di Indonesia yang menolak film Fitna.

Terima kasih juga disampaikan Presiden kepada Sekjen PBB Ban Ki-moon yang menegaskan tidak adanya hubungan antara film Fitna dengan kebebasan berpendapat dan kebebasan pers.

Usia konferensi pers, Menteri Nuh menyatakan bahwa ia akan menulis surat secara resmi kepada penyedia internet untuk menarik film Fitna dari websitenya. "Besok suratnya dikirim ke you-tube," ujar Nuh.

Presiden melaksanakan konferensi pers pada senin malam 31 maret2008 setelah melakukan rapat dengan beberapa menteri. Saat konferensi pers, beberapa menteri turut mendampingi, antara lain Menteri Nuh, Menteri Luar Negeri Hassan Wirajuda, dan Kepala Kepolisian Jendral Sutanto.

Que dire ? Si ce n'est que je ne peu que blâmer et me sentir affligé par l'échos positif provenant de certains groupes ou personnes de nos "milieux" vis-à-vis du film "Fitna" ? Les critiques que fait Wilders de l' "Islam" sont à mille lieues de correspondre aux nôtres, tout le monde l'aura compris également.

Que dire, si ce n'est que ce Wilders ne fait jamais qu'incarner l'avenir d'une certaine frange occidentaliste de l' "extreme-droite" dans son apothéose ?

Que dire ? Si ce n'est que je ne peu que condamner la réaction hypocrite de certains parlementaires hollandais ou européens au pouvoir, dénonçant le film de Wilders pour faire "bon chic bon genre" par clientélisme électoral, mais laissant faire ce serpent "au nom de la liberté d'expression". La belle affaire, on nous avait déjà fait le coup à l'époque des caricatures ... L'Iran avait par ailleurs donné à l'Occident quelques leçons de liberté d'expression en lançant un grand concours de caricatures de la Shoah. Et oui, elle est où cette "liberté" avec toutes nos lois liberticides, tous nos historiens prisonniers politiques européens qui ne croient pas en la Grande Réalité des Faits Historiquement Avérés de la Deuxième Guerre Mondiale A Laquelle Nous Croyons Tous ??

L'argument de la "liberté d'expression" ne tient pas la route, parce qu'il n'est évidemment pas valable pour tout le monde. Imaginons une personnalité politique réaliser un documentaire d'un quart d'heure sur ce qu'elle appellerait "Le problème Juif", en soulignant quelques passages particulièrement haineux du Talmud envers les non-juifs, images et rapprochements à l'appui ? [1]

Alors soit il y a réellement liberté d'expression et TOUT LE MONDE peut réaliser un documentaire sur le sujet de son choix, dont celui que nous proposons ici. Soit ce n'est pas le cas, l'argument devient dès lors irrecevable et Wilders aurait dû être stoppé. Deux poids, deux mesures.

Quoique je pense de l'Islam, je n'ai pas pensé à celui-ci quand j'ai regardé Fitna. Non, je n'y ai vu que la pieuvre sioniste apatride et internationale.

But alih-alih dapet simpati,  yang dia dapet justru kecaman and reaksi negatif semata  karena disengaja atau engga, pen-diskreditan plus fitnah2nya terhadap ajaran Islam yang sangat kontroversial berpotensi memicu provokasi serta membangkitkan sentimen negatif antar pemeluk agama, bahkan negerinya sendiri enek juga tuh ma Si dumb Wilder dan sampai-sampai pemerintahnya cepet kasih pernyataan kalau yang dilakukan si Geert ini tidak mewakili masyarakat dan pemerintah Belanda.

He...he.. takut juga kali ya kalau tanah airnya si Erasmus dan Spinoza ini diserang sana-sini. Kasihan Wilders, loe akhirnya tersisihkan di negara sendiri,  Dasar!!! Wilders Fool,  its just a foolish game,  kalo mo populer bikin  sesuatu  yang unik atau agak agak cerdas atuh tapi bebas nilai, kan asyiik.

Sutralah..., seneng tuh si Wilder jadi makin populer aja deh  gw rumpiin disini tapi mestinya emang si BU-GIL  ini sadar dan tahu diri, jika di Indonesia dia begitu mendapat reaksi keras rasanya wajar-wajar juga  secara antara Belanda and Indonesia memang udah ada chemistry nya dari 400 tahun yang lalu, pada tahu kan apa itu (Sstt.. penjajahannya itu lho he...he..).

Padahal kalau ga ngejajah Indonesia kayaknya belanda sudah ditelan air alias jadi danau soalnya darimana sie dapet dana end resources  hingga bisa bikin bendungan coz hampir separuh Belanda berada kurang 1 meter di atas permukaan laut makanya dalam bahasa Belandanyapun disebut : Koninkrijk der Nederlanden, yang secara harfiah berarti "Kerajaan Tanah-Tanah Rendah". 

Note: Kalau kurang faham korelasi antara menjajah-duit/dana/resources-bendungan tanya aja ahli sejarah plus ekonom  ya :D and gw minta maaf kalau pernyataan ini keliru.

So  Belanda boleh bangga mempunyai banyak pelukis ternama. seperti Rembrandt van Rijn, Johannes Vermeer, Jan Steen dan lain lain di abad 17 atau yang diabad ke 19 dan 20 ada Vincent van Gogh dan Piet Mondriaan selain juga M.C. Escher sebagai ahli seni grafik dan Han van Meegeren (art forger). Tapi Mas Geert Wilders ini kayaknya cuma bermimpi ingin jadi kebanggaan Bangsa Belanda (kalau buat pendukungnya sih mungkin bikin bangga : rolling eyes mode on).

Tapi Si BU-GIL GEERT WILDERS ini ( but I think he isnt crazy enough) setidaknya dah merasakan akibat dari perbuatannya ya meski lom tentu sebanding, Puas ..puas..puas.. (gaya TUKUL mode ON),  jadi gw saranin biar dapet gelar "The Man of The Centuries"  (anggap aja pujian he..he...) coba deh bikin aja kegilaan yang lebih dan lebih gila lagi, gw jamin dikau bakalan dapat gelar tambahan yaitu "The most Wanted Guy In The Universe"  tapi pastinya bukan untuk dikasih trophy apalagi nobel, ya paling-paling disuruh outbond di tiang gantungan atau nyobain empuknya kursi listrik ma eksekutor yang cute-cute :D

Akh jangan dimasukin ke hati ya, Peace buat semua, "inget hati boleh panas tapi kepala tetap dingin, faham sodara-sodara !!!!!!" (style dosen mode on).

Dette vers nedkom til muslimerne før de havde en del krigs-erfaring. Muslimerne havde i starten ikke vedudviklet våben, såsom katapulter, Kavaleri-soldater, bueskytter osv. Derfor nedkom dette vers for at fortælle muslimerne at de sku være velforberedte mod deres fjender.

Når en nation bryster sig frem med sin våbenteknologi, fremstår som stærk og modig, så er dette med til at skræmme fjenden væk og på denne måde forebygger man en krig. Man ønsker som nation ikke at fremstå som en tøsset nation, som alle andre nationer hurtigt kan overvinde.

Det er præcis det verset taler om, og det er præcis det Gert Wilders har taget ud af kontekst og fået til at lyde som om at Islam ønsker at plante frygt i ikke-muslimernes hjerter. Verset taler om at plante frygt, men her er der tale om frygt i fjenden, så denne ikke overvejer et angreb. Der er ikke tale om frygt, for selv at bekæmpe en anden nation uden at denne nation har angrebet en.

Det at man fremstår stærk er desuden med til at give soldaterne den rigtige kamp ånd og kan i bedste tilfælde afgøre om man vinder slaget, da den psykisk styrke betyder meget i krig. Dette er desuden noget alle nationer idag gør brug af. Alle nationer bryster sig frem med deres våben for at undgå at blive trådt på.

[8:61] If they resort to peace, so shall you, and put your trust in GOD. He is the Hearer, the Omniscient.

Allah befalder muslimerne om at selvom fjenden har overvejet at angribe dem, men så fortryder og ønsker fred, så skal muslimerne give dem den fred.

SubhanaAllah. Islam er sandelig freden selv.

1. Verset taler om krig, og dette kan man tydeligt se når man læser denne del:
"If you take them as captives you may set them free or ransom them, until the war ends."
2. Bemærk hvordan Allah er barmhjertig og giver muslimerne valget om at slippe fjenderne frie efter en endt krig.

Det er sjovt hvordan Gert Wilders har valgt at ikke tage hele verset med, men kun lige starten for at forvrænge billedet af hvad verset egentlig taler om.

Ook hier in Duitsland hebben we natuurlijk kennis genomen van Fitna van Geert Wilders. Zelf heb ik ook gekeken en gelukkig was ik blij dat het niet de film is geworden die Geert Wilders had aangekondigd. Knip en plakwerk in korrelige kwaliteit met bekende gruwelijke beelden maar niet het aangekondigde meesterwerk.

Toch is onze regering bang dat de film Fitna wekt als een lont in een kruidvat en dat het de kans op aanslagen doet verhogen. Onze antiterreurpolitie vreest dat de anti-islamfilm van Wilders radicale moslims ertoe kan aanzetten om aanslagen te plegen.

Ik hoop dat het zal meevallen want ik zie in mijn dagelijkse werk dat het Nederlanders en Duitsers wel goed lukt om vreedzaam naast en met elkaar te leven terwijl we dit direct na de tweede wereldoorlog ook niet voor mogelijk hadden gehouden. Dus het kan wel al kost het wel tijd.

Pada tulisan kali ini saya ingin menunjukkan pendapat saya tentang bagaimana seharusnya kita sebagai muslim dapat menyikapi film tersebut. Ada satu berita yang ingin saya soroti di detikcom. berikut beritanya: dihujani FPI Telur, kedubes belanda bau amis. Berdasarkan berita tersebut, lagi-lagi saudara kita sesama muslim di FPI melakukn tindak anarki, tindakan yang justru mempermalukan umat islam. Tindakan tersebut sangat jauh dari tindakan yang penuh izzah. Tindakan yang menunjukkan kebesaran islam sebagai sebuah jalan hidup.

Bukan seperti itu seharusnya kita bersikap. Tentu kita umat muslim harusnya marah dengan penayangan film tersebut. Kita harus kecam sang pembuat film tersebut. Tapi apakah pengecaman itu harus dilakukan dengan cara yang tidak ahsan, tidak santun. Bahkan Allah tetap mengingatkan nabi musa untuk mendakwahi firaun secara lembut. Tidak dengan kekerasan. Lagi pula, pemerintah belanda sendiri secara resmi sudah mengeluarkan pernyataan kecamannya terhadap sang pembuat film. Jadi, tindakan FPI melempari kedubes belanda dengan telur sama sekali TIDAK BISA diterima!! (apalgi harga telur kan mahal, amsak dibuang unt hal yg seperti itu).

Untuk saudara-saudaraku di FPI, bertobatlah! sadarilah bahwa antum telah berlaku dzalim. Dzhalim pada kedubes dan pemerintah belanda. dzalim pada umat islam yang lain karena dengan aksi antum maka citra umat muslim benar-benar dianggap sebagai agama yang penuh denagn kekerasan. Dan kalian juga dzhalim pada diri sendiri karena telah melanggar syariat Allah dan membuang-buang telur tersebut (yang tentunya ada harganya) untuk keperluan yang seperti itu.

Lalu bagaimana seharusnya kita sebagai umat muslim menyikapi film ini? pertama, rasa amarah, kekesalan dan sebagainya itu adalah sesuatu yang wajar ada. Langkah selanjutnya, kita tidak boleh mengalirkan perasaan tersebut pada tindak-tindak anarkis. Kita harus mengalirkan amarah tersebut untuk tindakan yang diplomatif. Akan lebih baik jika kita secara santun dan tegas meminta pemerintah belanda dan seluruh dunia untuk mengecam film tersebut. Selanjutnya, kita harus secara berkesinambungan menunjukkan citra islam sebagai agama yang benar-benar rahmatan lil alamin. Tunjukkan hal itu dalam akhlak keseharian kita. Tunjukkan hal tersebut dalam sikap politis kita. Tunjukkan hal tersebut dengna ketulusan karena mengahrapkan ridho Allah SWT.

Islam bukanlah agama kekerasan. Islam adalah agama yang penuh kedamaian. Kalaupun dikatakan bahwa kita akan menguasai dunia. Ya, tapi tidak dengan cara memusnahkan umat-umat yang lain melainkan dengan cara mengayomi umat tersebut dalam naungan islam supaya seluruh bumi mencapai kemakuran yang hakiki. Allah hanya memperkenankan kekerasan manakala kita terlebih dahulu yang diserang. Itupun kita masih dilarang oleh Allah untuk membalasnya secara berlebihan. Kita punya hak untuk membalasnya naum tetap secara proporsional. Diluar itu, Allah tetap mengatakan bahwa bersabar itu lebih baik bagi kita. Mari kita contoh perilaku rasulullah yang senantiasa bersabar manakala dirinya dihina, diintimidasi, diancam, dilempari kotoran dsb. Mari kita tunjukkan bahwa islam memang benar-benar agama rahmatan lil alamin.
