So as I posted yesterday Soul Calibur 4 is shaping up quite nicely and to keep everyone happy it seems that the rumors of our friendly Jedi's switching places may be true.

As you can see in the above pictures we have both characters seemingly sharing the same console? crazy it may be but it fills us with hope that this clash of titans may be not just another Jedi mind trick. Roll on DLC.

Since the first time this game was shown to us I have been anxiously awaiting more from the team behind it.

I have to admit Fahrenheit(or Indigo Prophecy) was one of my favourite xbox games(I still have a copy today) and I cannot wait to play Heavy Rain when it comes out.

Thankfully David Cage has been kind enough to grace the web with an interview that discusses his support of building for just one console (PS3 yay) and his take on other games and emotion in video games.

So I'm a huge fan of Q Games (Dylan Cuthburt's Japanese studio) team and the recent games they've been releasing on PSN. The Pixel Junk series has been to this point suprising, stylised and incredibly playable and from a quick play-through of the US demo Eden looks set to be the best yet.

There's no easy way to describe the game so I'll let this lovely video do that for me:

You can find out more about Q Games and Dylan at their website HERE

We didn't get the demo yet in the UK, but I'm sure there are those of you out there who are resourceful enough to get a US account setup...

Legendary comic book dude Stan Lee has been talking games at this years Comic Con. He said some nice, yet obvious things.

When you talk about games evolving over the years and becoming more like movies, in many ways, they've gone beyond movies," he said. "To do a movie is difficult, but it's linear. There's a beginning, a middle and an end, and that's it — you write a story.

In a videogame, you're writing many stories within the story. It's a totally different structure and a totally different philosophy of writing and, I think, a much, much more difficult one. I get the feeling more work goes into these videogames than even goes into the movies.

I marvel at the fact the games look as good, and in some cases better, as the most expensive movies. [Those] guys are just geniuses. Now you watch one of these games and it's like watching the greatest superhero movie, except you're part of it. It's indescribable.

Nice things said there but like it said, they were pretty obvious.

"YYZ" created by Neversoft

It looked nice but was all fake. Still I don't think even that could beat Rock Band 2's list. There were some real songs in there but most of them were good guesses. I don't think Harmonix would want to share songs like 'Everlong' and 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' (coming as DLC) because they're awesome and good exclusives. Hey i'm getting the game so I hope there's a decent confirmed setlist coming.

It's official Atari's Alone In The Dark is coming to the PS3 this November. The 360 version got absolutely hacked to death by reviewers so I think the only reason Atari is bringing this piece of shit to the PS3 it to make more money.

Maybe it'll be better? Not likely. Maybe it'll do better in the winter when there's nothing...oh right yeah everything's out in winter.

This has got to be the death of Atari. Phil, what have you done?

MCVUK have reported that David Reeves (SCEE) has big things planned for this year’s Game Conve

MCVUK have reported that David Reeves (SCEE) has big things planned for this year's Game Convention at Leipzig in Germany...

Sony promises Leipzig ‘blockbuster’

SCEE President David Reeves sets sights on Game Convention for key global and Euro announcements

After a solid but unspectacular E3 outing, Sony now plans to dominate proceedings at Leipzig as it concentrates on splitting its key announcements across E3, Games Convention and the Tokyo Games Show.

At an exclusive European media briefing, SCEE president David Reeves told MCV that global announcements and ‘blockbuster’ revelations will emerge from the Leipzig event, and even backed the possibility of a London-based show.

“It’s not just Euro-centric – there will be some global announcements,” said Reeves. “The announcements we make will be more important for the local markets that come to Leipzig.

"And it’s not just Leipzig, it’s Game Convention – if we had one in London we’d do it in London. We have a number of things which is real blockbuster stuff for Europe.”

Reeves also explained that the platform holder will continue to spread its most high profile messages across the three key territories to ensure Sony gets the maximum impact in each of these areas.

“We feel now that we have a pattern globally which is E3, Tokyo Games Show and Leipzig – it gives us three bites of the cherry to come out with our announcements. We cannot tailor all our announcements to July.”

So one has to wonder exactly what we are talking about here, I can see this show turning into a major dick waving contest after the abysmal E3 showings from all involved. This could quite easily be the place to really try and make an impact! Either way, it's always nice to see a Euro show being treated better each year.

Eurogamer had an interview with Harold Ryan of Bungie where he got to respond to Don Mattrick's recent comments about laughing at the delay of the new Halo unveil during E3.

Bungie president Harold Ryan has denied "laughing" when Xbox boss Don Mattrick told him that the studio's latest Halo product would not be shown at E3.

"Keeping things clean, I certainly didn't agree with the decision to delay our news until sometime after E3," Ryan told Eurogamer today.

"Bungie is always concerned first and foremost with our fans. Whenever we are prevented from exceeding their positive expectations it is not a laughing matter."

Mattrick, who is in charge of the Xbox 360 business at Microsoft, told Eurogamer during E3 that Ryan "just laughed and he said, 'Boy, just a sign of growth inside the business, we agree'."

Mattrick went on to say that the new Halo product would be unveiled at a separate event "another time of the year" that would "create an opportunity where people can interact with it".

Neither Microsoft or Bungie has released further details on the new Halo product.

In an interview with our local UK Telegraph, Miyamoto touches on the subject of developing core and casual games... the interesting segment is quoted below:

“As game designers, the trend is often for concentrating on pushing graphics, or other capabilities, or network features in new games. But I like to think that game designers would be better off trying to think about things such as health or mental improvement, rather than technology itself. Making these ‘traditional’ games is what I am best at. Because games of that nature take upwards of two or three years to make, we always have to keep the teams working on those projects going. At any given time, the team could be five to ten people, or it could be 50-plus. People are always switching in and out of those teams. They are all working on more Mario, Zelda and Pikmin projects. And they all work in close proximity to me, so I can keep a good eye on them.” - Shigeru Miyamoto

So I have gotta say it, I really like this game now. I’ve played through the demo many times n

So I have gotta say it, I really like this game now. I've played through the demo many times now with all the classes unlocked (youtube has many vids on how to do this...) and each time I play the game I feel more impressed at what Silicon Knights are doing with this game.

The first thing I'd like to address is the controls as I know this is something that a lot of first time players seem to have difficulty with. Learn the controls, it isn't about spinning the right stick around in an alternate style to button mashing, instead this is all about timing and finesse as well as planning which enemies you are going to take out and how you are going to do it to better fill up the combo meter/gain EXP faster.

Reading certain forum posts in places around the tubes (GAF I'm looking at you), I have come to the conclusion that many players aren't sure of how the control scheme works which is a great shame seeing as once I got used to it I couldn't imagine a better way of playing the game. The dual-stick control was something I've never been a fan of historically so this is somewhat of a shock that I actually like it. For those who didn't yet, check out the advanced controls menu in the game itself - it will help a great deal.

On the voice acting I know there were many complaints about the cheesy space marine dialog, something that I never much had an issue with personally but hey as far as I'm concerned this is no worse than Halo/Gears/Aliens or any other games/movies with over-excitable marines. In fact I'd probably field those examples as being far worse in many ways although I guess that is a preference thing.

Having really delved into the mechanics of the game, I really can say that I love the loot system, controls, plot and pacing. Overall I'm now really excited for the final game and I hope it gets a warm reception in spite of the potential damage that Denis Dyack and the hardocore media may have done the game with poor PR.

Oh and the latest trailers look way more optimised which is promising! ^_^

Soon, getting your hands on a Classic Controller, Wireless Wavebird, or Original Gamecube Controller may be very hard. Nintendo failed to overturn a 21 million dollar patent infringement suit which was
brought on by Texas-based Anascape Ltd. Nintendo now faces a ban on all three devices.

U.S. District Judge Ron Clark planned to issue the ban today, and at the time of this writing no information could be found pertaining to whether or not the ban was indeed issued. Judge Clark held off on issuing the ban to give Nintendo a chance to post a bond or placing royalties into an Escrow account. Nintendo plans to take the case to the federal level, and the ban is on hold until then.

"Nintendo was already planning to appeal this case to the Federal Circuit court,'' Nintendo spokesman Charlie Scibetta said in an e-mailed statement. ``The recent ruling by the trial court does not impact that decision.''

The ban does not affect the Wii remote or the nunchuck controller, only the standard controllers which feature analog sticks.

Penny Arcade's episodic game has been going for a few months now and apparently there were some problems getting it to work on the PS3 but now it has been announced that the first episode, 'Penny Arcade Adventures: On The Rain-Slick Precepice Of Darkness' (catchy), will hit the PSN in Fall the Autumn.

The guys had this to say:

"We keep getting emails asking why our Penny Arcade game is not on PSN," said Hothead's CEO, Vlad Ceraldi. "We have always said we wanted to have our games on as many platforms as possible to give choice to gamers. All good things take time and we are very excited to be debuting our first PS3 title and look forward to bringing more games to this platform in the future."

The 360 and PC versions are both around $20 in the US so I think we can expect it'll be the same. I've not followed the concept too much (read not at all). Does $20 buy one episode or a sorta subscription? Needless to say it looks ok but it isn't something i've been clamoring for. Plus, with what Yhatzee said about webcomics it sounds sorta uninspired.

You can check out some screens of the PS3 version here.

I have been awaiting the arrival of Wipeout HD (on PSN) since it was announced so long ago.

Well it turns out that the reason for the game delay is that it failed an EPILEPSY test, we knew it looked good (it's not F-zero) but it looks too good it causes seizures, DAMN, now i gotta play it:)

This also means that the team working on the game will have to rework it to rectify the problem:( More waiting then *sigh*

I've just been browsing the interwebs looking for LBP and found this. Brain Ashcraft over at Kotaku posted a list of things he found out about the game at E3. I thought this was worthy content so I'd like to share it with you.

• The game will feature trophies.
• If two players of different levels play co-op together and one falls behind, that player will instantly die and respawn so the two players can keep up.
• There are over 60 tutorials that focus on creating.
• Because the Sony E3 press conference showed it was possible to embed text on objects, it will now be possible to do that in-game. (Media Molecule wants to make sure everything it's now showing with LBP is actually possible for users to make.
• Originally, they planned to give players complete freedom of depth, but found that a richer experience could be gotten with only three layers of depth.
• If you use voice chat, Sack Boy will be lipsynched to your speech.
• The tags used to label level you create are pre-selected and were intially from LOL Cats. This has since been changed.
• Stephen Fry does voice over work for the create mode.
• It hasn't been announced if you can import your own music into the game. Says Evans, "There's no reason technically why not."

Most of this is news to me. They got Stephen Fry, now that's pretty cool. I can't wait for trophies too!

David reeves has come out and told Eurogamer that the user generated content in LittleBigPlanet will be free when the game launches.

He said:

"SCEE and Media Molecule can guarantee that all consumer-generated content will be free at launch. We know how important this is to the LBP community and what we want most is for people to enjoy playing, creating and sharing their content,"

Sounds good to me but we did hear that there would be saleable user created assets. Thank god this won't be there for stuff like this. I'll bring you more on this when I get it.
