But of course, what would the Honey Dress be without my Maitreya Virtue shoes in Patent Black?!?!?!  Ever since I picked these up at the 2008 SL Footwear EXPO, I have been wearing them with EVERYTHING!  Sorry, but when I find shoes like this, I become a habitual repeater...I just can't help myself!

Anyway, if you have not been to VictoriaV's new mainstore, it is a MUST-SEE!  And if you haven't picked up a pair of the Maitreya Virtue shoes in Patent Black, go see them for yourself...you are likely to leave with them in hand... : )

I slipped into Elemiah designs after seeing a cute babydoll dress on Freestyle and I wanted to see more. It's possible that I have an unnatural affinity for the modern, feminine lines drawn by Halston back in the day - I had a bachelor uncle who was a huge fan - but I immediately saw a comparison in Elemiah's designs with the late great designer.

Far from being just an SL version of his designs, what I find at her shop is a modern sensibility to the style that Halston pioneered. Delicate but modern, clean lines with a feminine flair. Even her frillier femme pieces are still flavored with a hint of modern line.

Elemiah may not be a new designer, but she has a new fan. And she keeps a lovely freebie out every week. This week it's a ball gown that Scarlett O'Hara would covet!

I took this opportunity to break out another of the skins I received from Free Speerit - Ashlee in Dapink. It's delicate make up was a perfect match to this soft pink outfit. I love the classic look, a very conservative yet elegant tyle.

And now I'm ready to tour the garden at Tuileries. Nice of them to let me stay in this swank room in the palace, wasn't it?

With the slew of retro bathing suits blasting out of fashion houses, I was excited to try out a new modern look sent to me from Second Wave. Pairing with the skin sent to review from Free Speerit - Eleania in Ruby Natural, I was ready to get some sun on Koh Nana.

I was impressed with the quality and depth of color in these suits. One piece suits can have wonky crotch pieces sometimes, and I enjoyed the workmanship of these designs that did not looks odd depending on what I was doing. I could play on the beach doing whatever activities I liked and still look lovely.

It was a fun chance to try out Cajsa's new sandcastle making toy - thanks to Beanie Canning for finding it for us! 

The lovely new skins were a fine compliment for the richly colored suits, with clean lines on the face makeup and a very feminine style - I really like these skins.

I received several skins to review - and will be breaking out some more in the future to show you - they're just lovely.

It's my pleasure to review the Free Speerit Skins which have recently been released. I promised to share my true thoughts about the skins for the community and I intend to do just that for my blog today.

First, some useful information about the skins:

All of the skins will include a base skin (without make up) for free, 4 pubic styles, an updater, eyelashes and the final price of the skin will only be L$1424! There will be also be fatpacks.

I have experimented and learned that the skins are fully tintable. This means that each shade can achieve about 100 skin tones without loosing quality; dark to pale, and even fantasy colours. To do this, you just need to read the tutorials included with your skin. There is more, some tones or makeups have the ability to add freckles, blush, makeup, etc. All of this from the SL standard tools in appearance (Note: not all the shades or makeups will have the same effects.) My personal view of this pack with 5 different color shades is that they are well done. The skintones are very realistic and the sensually formed lips are awesome. I am not sure about the Eleania lips though, the gloss may be a little too shiny for me which somehow spoils its sensuality - the color is great though. The eye makeups are very detailed and good graphic work. The eyebrows are very sexy and perfectly formed. My favorite is Whitney - I like the tan tone - so realistic and soft.

I received the invitation to Boopzee Slade's rezz day party over the weekend and spent a short amount of time pouting about it, because it looked like I wouldn't be able to attend due to the time of day. But when I logged in late Monday night to find out that the party was STILL rocking, I was delighted.

My delightful new party dress from the <3 Cupcakes secret sale (got it for ZERO!) was just the ticket for a birtday/rezz day party! I slipped into my shoes and TP'd over to Boopzee's soiree.

What to my wandering eyes should appear as the world rezzed - but Cajsa - decked out in a sleek resort wear style skirt and top - ALSO in pink and white.

The two of us, were head to toe pink and white. We even wore the same bracelets from Fresh Baked Goods. I wore mine in the signature colors and Cajsa modded hers to  pink and white.
We are clearly spending too much time togther.

I ran, not walked when I saw the SL Freestyle post about this super cute skirt. It was on a night when I didn't have much else to do, so I was running the gauntlet of fashion freebies - and this little gem was right at the top of my list. Right around the corner in the store was a collect of muted tone sweaters sold in two packs. I picked up the "reds" collection hoping that one of them would be a good compliment to this skirt - which it is.

One of my favorite things about SL are the conversations you would never have anywhere else. So when my best friend said "Come over and pick out some sculptures for your housewarming gift" I slipped into this ensemble. I think it says, "I'm casually hanging out with a friend while picking out modern art sculptures."

Or something like that. It's what I INTENDED to say anyway.

Oh goodie! Another photo contest for which I procrastinated to the end. Of course, this one is for Paper Couture whose clothes I have been remixing lately. One day I will remix this one, too, but don't be holding our breath for it.So, I need to choose a photo by tomorrow. This session I was feeling goofy and this dress made me feel even more playful so I kind of went astray with the photo shoot. I took a few conventional shots like the one above at the end in case I lose my nerve.

This session got off to the weird start after I opened this new beta skin from Free Speerit. It has tears - not the mascara dripping down your face tears, but subtle drops of fluid that slid gently down the cheeks. Tears, not a mask. The other element going into my thought process was the whimsy of wearing that ridiculous Madame Pompadour hair - the Queen of Roses. Tears, pre-revolutionary hair and a super frilly dress, where better to shoot than Versailles.

But the lag!!!! I tried walking and promptly fell in the fountain. So I decided I had to leave. I was not really going to succeed when it took 5 minutes to circle my avatar or 3 minutes to zoom a bit closer. So no more last days of Marie Antoinette, but first, I took the time to snap some shots in the fountain.

Off I go to Gothika Public Park where I know I will get luscious photos of flowers - flowers on flowers. Any points I lose for lack of originality I will make up in prettiness points. Besides, you cannot go to Gothika Public Park and not leave feeling happy. It's that kind of place.

But then I noticed the water and couldn't resist jumping in again and that shifted my story again. From the last days of Marie Antoinette to frolics with flowers and now to Ophelia @ Versailles (pretending that Gothika is the Petit Trianon helps make that conceit work.) But if it's going to be Ophelia, perhaps I should do some drowning pictures?

When I learned that Free Spirit's hair was free, I tp'ed over to take a look and found this striking angular cut hair - sleek and contemporary and oh-so-chic. Wanting to wear this hair, i decided to build my outfit around the hair - exactly backward from the way I usually think about what to wear.

I immediately thought of the fabulously sleek Paper Couture ball gown Gypsy Silk, but the formal gown was too dressy for traipsing around the grid - particularly as i was in an exploring mood -- and that train would have gotten caught on the rose bushes. But darn it, I wanted to wear that top...see the rich textures and details and how sleek and slim-lined it looks - so perfect with that hair. Then there are those gorgeous puffy sleeves - that miraculously look right in pose after pose.

I added Kraftika's #112 which is fast becoming my favorite set of necklace and earrings and the nice silver bracelet from +plus..and i was set if you didn't look below my waist. <grin>

And then i began putting on pair after pair after pair of black and grey pants trying to find the perfect ones. I wanted smooth, tight and sleek pants, no bells, no wrinkles, no big zippers and seams. Before i got completely frustrated i remembered the cigarette pants from Ingenue and sure enough, they were perfect. To complete the them of sleek and chic, the well-crafted Florence boots were an absolute must.

So, here it is - a look based on a hair style - and another example of using Paper Couture's lovely clothing in new ways - refuting the criticism that their clothes are not practical once more.

The beta demo FS skin Free Speerit sent out to their groupmembers today. I adore the lips and really like this demo skin in general, very promising. Get it from the Free Speerit group today and see how you feel about it. Anything you dislike? Free Speerit is asking for feedback on the skin. Tell them what you like, what you dislike, any makeups you'd love to see. I really think this is a promising skin and can't wait till they release it 'for real'

And no, I haven't mentioned the tears yet. I'm not sure how I feel about those ;) Right now I don't know if I feel like a crying gypsy girl when wearing it, or if it's just plain cute. Could go either way really.

The outfit comes from Free Speerit group, and includes everything. Skin, hair, eyes (if you look closely you'll see the irises have the shape of a flower leaf), etc. So I guess that makes this post pretty short. There are two of these outfits in the group gift, the other one doesn't have the huge collar, but has a skirt instead.
