<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Weighed myself this morning, after weeks of no change I'm back up to 90kg (198lbs) Gah!!!</p>
<p>I'm not surprised quite honestly. I've been cheating a lot and it's starting to show. My excuses for this week are:</p>
<ul>
<li>I HATE HATE HATE filling in a food diary. Grrrrrr!</li>
<li>I keep forgetting to drink water</li>
<li>My beloved Mp3 player is definitely dead, and barring a spontaneous zombie resurrection I'm going to have to fork out the money for a new one because...</li>
<li>I've rediscovered how hard it is for me to drag my arse to the gym without music to keep me going! I've only been once this week and hated every second of music-less cardio. Bor-ing!</li>
<li>Incidentally, being a semi-student I'm rather broke...</li>
<li>and I can't find a player that I like. I may have to conform to the masses and buy an iPod...*<em>shudders</em>*</li>
<li>I haven't been sleeping well cos of my horrible job hours. I don't cook well or consistently when I'm irritable.</li>
</ul>
<p>Okay, I feel a little better now. I've decided today I'll do just one good thing; drink more water. Surely I can stick to one change at a time!</p>
<p>Anyone out there with a new iPod nano, what do you think of it? Have you had trouble with iPods in the past? I ask because mates of mine have had serious trouble with them in the past which has kinda turned me off the brand.</p>

<p>I thought twice about having a bit of Frank's cake seeing as I had eaten a pastry, cake and biscuit yesterday. But, from the first mouthful, no regrets. It was mega fresh and was just an explosion of flavour from the cinnamon and citrus in the icing. I think a whole one would have been sickly.</p>

<p>On the way home from our meeting, I popped into Tesco to get some <em>Quorn</em> beef-style bits after only remembering during the night that Tesco sold them, not Waitrose.</p>
<p>I'm gonna use them instead of the <em>Quorn</em> chicken-style pieces and mince. The beef-style pieces have a better flavour and texture than either. I bought six bags plus some doughnuts for Frank.</p>

<p>What a great day. I have simply not felt hungry today. When I finally did get hungry at about 8pm I just had an egg and tomato salad and was no longer hungry again. I cant quite believe it! In fact I have only eaten 1500 calories today and this is much lower than what I can eat but I just dont feel hungry. Over the last few days I have stopped eating potatoes and the dried fruits and have tried to minimise carbohydrates by having only a few fruits and a handful of nuts. I am literally not feeling hungry and this may be why. OR it could just be that I am not having a hungry day but that has never happened on a diet before so I feel a bit insecure about the whole situation. Not been hungry on a diet kind of scares me to be honest. Its almost as if I would rather brace myself for the hunger rather than start to feel like I wont be hungry and then have hunger set in. Anyway.</p>
<p>As for the exercise I am doing so well. I am almost running now. Well I am walking so fast I dont think that I could walk any faster. My heart is relatively cool and not beating too fast so its obviously adapting well to the exercise regime but my poor legs cant seem to catch up. I might try stretching them pre work outs and not just post work outs and see if that helps. But it amazes me than within a week I am at this level of fitness. Today was good. </p>
<p>Also Im starting to ponder the goodness or badness of dairy. As far as I can see it seems to be carbs that are the main cause of our modern diseases of civilization. So dairy? It certainly would add some diversity to my cooking. Would be interested in peoples feedback on this but for now I will keep leaving it out. But expect a post soon as I want to look into the research to see the good and the bad. </p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Not a bad day yesterday, although it is was a bit bread heavy. After today my workload eases a bit so I will make sure I get to the gym this week. It seems that I eat the most when I am stressed so I Will try to address the things that make me stressed in the first place. It is basically not doing work early enough and letting a deadline creep up on me.</p>
<ul>
<li>One egg scrambled on whole meal toast with low fat salad cream</li>
<li>Turkey and lettuce sandwich with a raw carrot</li>
<li>Two apples</li>
<li>Tin of vegetable soup with two slices of bread.</li>

<p>It's been weird. The last two weeks, I don't feel that I've been on a diet. I'm still weighing and watching what I eat but I don't feel that it's making a difference. And this is evidenced by my weigh-in: no overall weight loss in two weeks.</p>
<p>Getting up earlier has meant an extra meal a day. It's been very cold here and I haven't felt inclined to have a cold salad every day. Something to work on.</p>

<p>We were at <a href="http://www.innovate08.co.uk/">Innovate '08</a> all day today, "<em>the business of shaping our world</em>". Lunch and refreshments were provided. As seems to happen before these all-day things, I didn't sleep well the night before and got up at 6am after waking up much earlier.</p>

<p>It still surprises me that a small bowl of cereal has the same calories as one of my cheese salad sandwiches.</p>

<p>The vegetarian lunch option was tortellini. My carbs choice was potatoes or rice from the meat serving area. I remembered that potatoes had fewer calories. The shredded salad was lovely; lots of different things including mange tout.</p>
