I updated my desktop settings to 1024x768 from

800x600 .When i did this the opera web   and other aps gave me fits a for two days as i searched for better font settins.

tools for qt3 : use qtconfig.

tools for opera : use opera built in config.

i'm not using firefox3 but there is a update for new firefox2 build.

I updated my firefox2.

you have to look under alturnitive downloads at mozilas site but it's their and it works good.

I don't need no firefox3. firefox2 still works and is still updated.

Unico difetto sono i plugin che in opera mancano ma se si gira un pò qualcosa si trova.

Ora proverò firefox3rc3, essendo un fan di firefox cercherò di difenderlo a tutti i costi! :)

UPDATE: Beh firefox3rc3 si difende bene in velocità, sarà un pelino più lento ma i plugin sono la parte migliore anche se alcuni ancora non sono pienanmente compatibili.

Si la respuesta a las tres preguntas anteriores es un "SI" entonces sigue leyendo y sigue las instrucciones. Si la respuesta es un "NO" a alguna o un: "Déjame que me lo piense un momento"... tan sólo sigue leyendo :)

Existe una forma para que algunos (no todos) los complementos que te funcionaban en firefox 2 lo hagan también con firefox 3 beta 5. Para ello sigue las siguientes instrucciones:

1. Presiona: CTRL+T para abrir una nueva pestaña y situarte en la barra de direcciones.
2. Teclea: about:config
3. Presiona en el botón: ¡Tendré cuidao! ¡Lo prometo!
4. Haz click con el botón derecho del ratón sobre cualquier punto y elije: Nuevo->Lógico
5. Teclea: extensions.checkCompatibility y asígnale un valor de falso
6. Vuelve repetir el paso 4 y teclea: extensions.checkUpdateSecurity y asígnale un valor de falso
7. Reinicia firefox
8. Ahora prueba a instalar los complementos que habías eliminado por incompatibilidad o simplemente dales a Habilitar.

Lo que hemos hecho es desabilitar la comprobación de compatibilidad de los complementos. He probado con todos los de google y funcionan. Para otros que uso como: hyperwords, adblockplus y scribefire no hizo falta pues ya había actualizaciones. Sin embargo TabMixPlus, a pesar de poderlo instalar con estas modificaciones, al intentar configurarlo te indica que no es compatible con la versión 3 de firefox. Igual ustedes encuentran algun otro que haga lo mismo.

Espero les sirva para, por lo menos, tener alguna herramienta funcionando en firefox 3 como en el 2.

First impressions are so-so.

IE8 looks and feels a lot like its Explorer 7 counterpart. However, IE8 adds "Activities" to the browser interface (e.g. clicking the Facebook dropdown allows you to see the status of all of your buddies) and "Webslices" (portions of a web page that you subscribe to.)

At this stage, I need to be educated to the benefits of Activities and Webslices. I'm not used to using a browser in such a fashion. But, with time, I could learn to love it.

Currently, I use a web browser to search for information and log onto various web pages. I'm used to my current interface and am at ease with how I use social media. The one thing that is essential to me is speed of use…which is where the IE8 beta fails.

I don't want to get into a browser war, I don't care for that. I just know that my current browser, Firefox 2, kills IE8 in terms of speed a loading pages.

The good news it, IE8 is in the first stage of beta release, which means there is time to tweak, improve and act on user feedback.

• Flock – This could be big. Social media oriented browser. Is this what Web 2.0 will look like?
• Firefox 2 – my personal fave…currently
• Firefox 3 Beta – doesn't seem to work properly on my Vista machine
• Internet Explorer 7 – I like it, especially the interface. Just a little too slow compared to FF
• Internet Explorer 8 Beta – Certainly worth checking out
• Safari for PC – Pretty fast, I personally don't care for the interface (and I'm an Apple lover, not hater)

If you're on Windows you'll get HTML Validator off the Firefox add-ons page. For some reason Mac-users must do a slight detour, which I found after some googling. Go to the HTML validator sourceforge index page, and find the file called tidy_macintel_xxxx.xpi on the date of 26-Oct-2006. That's spesificly for the new Intel-Macs, but you'll find any other version you're interested in on the same page.

It's a great companion to the Web Developer Toolbar and Firebug.

Update: The Mac-file I'm referring too is for Intel Macintosh's only! The filenames on the sourceforge page gives you a fairly straight forward clue to which OS and make it's for, so remember to read before installing.

If you try to install the macintel on a G5 or earlier Mac it will cause Firefox to completely give up on you. The fix is then to export your bookmarks, delete Firefox, re-install. And then start adding all the extensions you've lost in the process.

Really nice addon which allows you to customize Web pages by adding small JavaScript files to control any aspect of Web page's design or interaction. (Requires some JavaScript knowledge for full use)

Tiny Menu

Replaces the default menu with tiny popup. Really nice addon, saves alot of space.

Mouse Gestures

One of my all time favorite addons. Allows you to execute common commands by mouse gestures drawn on top of the current page.

Aging Tabs

Makes unused tabs fade with age and hilights the selected tab. This is more eye candy than being useful. But I like it. :)

Del.icio.us Bookmarks

Integrates your browser with del.icio.us, by replacing the default bookmarking. Making it easy to access your bookmarks wherever you are, and keeping them organized.
