In case you're wondering what the title means; it's Latin, it translates to Choose: Love or Hate. The above "poem" is what I wrote a few nights ago when I wanted to purge my system so I could get back into writing Orbit...

between frickin fairy tales and a heart as hard as rock
and am i fighting in my own strength?
tears of (samson?), and a real anger
anger drowning in indifference?
the temptation to give up,
wheres that blessed persistance?
why the evil? show me my worst, Lord?
who´s who? who´s to trust?
who does the will of the father?
who knows if his heart is in it, or if it is for his gain?
what is the plot, what is the why?

anyway it seems this is all just an overall bad dream
with a few up´s just to make the fall down hit harder
not that i should complain at all because i know it is all my fault
so no matter how i turn this it always comes down to
humility? insanity? repentance? sin? learning? or unlearning?

Have mercy on me Holy Father, i am unworthy, for you are righteus.
Do not let these words fall flat, i hang them on your trust.
Who am i closer to, You Holy Lord, or the enemy?

Is my despair and sense of being attacked and this struggle,

because i am Yours, or is it because i have strayed so far?

i am lost without you Jesus.

Mom is angry. She screamed at me for quite a while tonight, then went out walking through the neighborhood in her slippers at 10:30 at night. Lots of things are all my fault. I say rotten things to her. I don't care how she feels. I'm just talking to hear myself talk. I don't understand at all.

Oh yeah, it's also my fault that she's not going to sleep tonight.

And while we stood in the street figuring out just what an evil person I am, she demanded to know if I'd locked her out of her house. Sure, that's exactly the sort of thing I'd do.

Once we determined that I'm a mean person and all these things are my fault, it finally came out that she got a notice from Social Security that she doesn't qualify for Medicare. Her former employer thinks that she does qualify. So obviously that means that she won't have any coverage. Everybody panic. I asked why she didn't tell me about this when she got the letter. "Because the office doesn't open until tomorrow morning," she said.

"You realize that it's going to take time to research this, and we could have been doing that yesterday and today," I told her. Because I'm so evil, I said "No big deal, I'll do it tonight." It's going to be a very long night.

I tried asking her specific questions: Who told her she was eligible? What information did they base this conclusion on? What have they sent her which says that she's eligible? Every question was met with a very annoyed "I don't know!" She got angrier with each question, but without information I can't solve this problem.

And while she was digging through a pile of paperwork, she threw something at me with the comment "Oh, I got this, too." It's a standard letter from a financial services company, telling her they've lost her bank account information, they regret any inconvenience, and they're taking it very seriously. She received this before the diagnosis. She's eligible for credit monitoring, so I took that, too, to sign her up.

It was only when I was signing her up for the credit monitoring that I realized my information is on that account too. It might have been nice to know that my information has been compromised. Oh well. And I don't qualify for the credit monitoring, because I'm not the primary name on the account.

So I'm an evil person, I've got a full night of research ahead of me, and her bank has compromised my information and left me with no way to monitor the damage. It just doesn't get any better than this. Hope I get all this research done before I have to pick her up at 0630.

The more I think about this, the more I see that I'm probably going to have to quit my job and end my career, and move back here to take care of her. Part of me doesn't want to quit my job, because I really do love it, part of me doesn't want to leave my home, which I love, most of me really doesn't want to move back here, because I hate this place, but I'm rapidly getting to the point where I don't really care anymore. And if I spend the rest of my life asking "Do you want fries with that?", who cares, really?

Just When You Thought it Was Over

I may be to blame for this. I actually thought a few days ago, “Hmmm. Wonder what happened to all those earthquakes we had? Must be over.”

So what happens? Sunday morning I’m lying in bed when creek-creek rumble-rumble. My heart nearly burst out of my chest.

To make it worse, this quake kept quietly rolling for several minutes. It felt more like an uncontrollable waterbed than anything.

Then it stopped. “Ah, thank God.”

Two minutes later, wall hangings started shaking in unison. A blanket covered one of my eyes.

My boyfriend stood in the doorway the exact moment it hit. “Can you feel that?”

“Can you see the whites of my eye?”

A few hours later I noticed Reno made Drudge. We were also the third story on the KTVU 10 O’clock News in San Francisco.

Two other quakes hit around 3am – didn’t feel those. How lucky for me – ugh!

I should really keep my mouth shut.

Dyslexia and Emotion

Last night I experienced on of the most frustrating situations ever. I got into an argument with one of the most important people in my life. No biggy right? Wrong. The argument is not what got to me, it's not being able to explain myself. I know a lot of you guys will agree when I say "well dyslexia has nothing to do with being at a loss for words." While that is true, it's still effects a person with dyslexia greatly in my opinion. From my point of view it is way more frustrating because, as for me, I completely shut down. I just want the world to go away and be alone at that moment. I can't tell my words from words, my numbers from numbers, emotions from, well I think you understand what I'm getting at.

When I have someone asking me what's wrong or when I just want to flat out make my point, I always have an answer but it's always so hard to say in words. I mean I can't just go growling and screaming at people and saying "That's how I feel" or "That's the point I was trying to make" that would just make me look like a crazy person. I've tried to write down everything, I have books upon books of writing, I love to write but my writing is so depressing. I'm always asked "Why don't you write something happy" well, when i write something happy it turns out like crap. When I write something sad and depressing its really go but, it doesn't make me feel any better. So as you can see I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place. I'm still trying to figure out if my problem with not being able to fully explain myself is coming from being dyslexic or if just the "normal" part of me. Well, right not I know I have to make up for what I have done last night because it was a stupid argument and I take full blame, yes, for all you men out there that think that women think that they are always right Hell just froze over because I know it was my fault.

Spontaneous Bitch-Combustion

It absolutely boggles my mind how my wife goes from absolute bitch for months on end to absolute sweetheart within the passing of one night. As credit to her extraordinary skill, she is equally quick from sweetheart to bitch.

Now, I am unable to rationalize, identify, comprehend, or arise to any kind of hypothesis that would trigger such behavior. Does she have a mental disorder? Or, some sort of mental disease? Is it even psychological? Or, is there a physiological disorder I must diagnose and treat? What external triggers may be influential?

My only guess is a very volatile conjecture irrationally used by men and woman alike to explain the unexplainable traits of women: my wife is a woman, and therefore susceptible and at the mercy of her inner self without any identifiable causes or solutions, and without any fault or accountability of her actions thereof.

By God, “Because she’s a woman,” explains it all in a clear and concise (plain and simple) manner! With this single explanation we can now delve into the depths of feminism and unlock the secrets to humankind’s (because it is not “mankind”) salvation!

Need milk with my sarcasm? Grab a cow. There is more.

Really! Come on! I saw on 3ABN (3 Angels Broadcast Network) a one hour program solely on the explanation of the female psyche. To summarize, the nucleus of their illumination centered on a huge jumble of rubber bands that were so incredibly entangled that they formed an inseparable mass roughly the size of a large book, like those coffee table books everyone looks at the covers but never picks up because they are so big.

Let us allow women to have their cake and eat it, too, so to speak.

So, inside a woman, her brain is all jumbled together like 3ABN’s mass of entangled rubber bands. If so, that explains why my wife is like Dr. Jekyll and Mrs. Hyde. On the other hand, if women are a confusing mess that not even they can sort themselves, why do we allow them so much?

They want equal rights. When given equal riots, they complain that men are no longer treating them as women but as “one of the boys,” and thus seek action (or legislation to put in more current terms). Women can open their own doors and no longer need a man to treat them as the “weaker sex.” In turn, women voice their disapproval of men losing chivalry, and find themselves hard pressed to find a gentleman, or a “good man.”

I laugh every time I tell this story because it just tickles me down to the bone.

My wife used to tell me she wanted me to love and appreciate her for who she is. You know, on the inside, her mind; more than just her body. So, over the course of the following few weeks, anytime she asked me any question about her looks I would answer, “Baby, your looks don’t matter because you’re smart, and that’s why I love you. Wear anything you want. You look fine.”

Needless to say, boiling point was reached often. Eventually, she learned that she enjoys her vanity, as well as my primal (one of many animalistic epithets men are known to be called) lust for her. Sure, I can be romantic and intellectual and not-everything-leads-to-sex. But, eventually she just finds me boring, too much like a female, or no longer within the image she holds of me. So, once again, she gets her cake, she eats it, and decides she does not like it.

Who is responsible for her naivety and discontent? I am because I am the man; held to a higher standard by all, over and above any current and preceding political correctness or socially modern criterion. However, should I have the foresight, care, and good intentions to forebode the likely consequences of her actions and provide guidance, I am ridiculed as controlling, parent-like (the “daddy” complex), and bossy. Stand aside and allow her to do as she wishes, I am again ridiculed, but ridiculed for being heartless, insensitive, and a poor leader (aka: a poor example of a man as women see it).

Well, I can’t read minds, so I will never know exactly what to do and when and how. In pursuit of not discriminating or showing favoritism, and in the spirit of equal rights for both genders, I mean it with absolute equality from the bottom of my heart when I say, “Kiss my ass!”

K-M-A, baby! That’s my motto – kiss my ass!

Like every “good man” (the term has become highly subjective and becoming quite loose in designation), I am not afraid to do as I decide best, regardless of her approval or emotional upheaval. In other words, my wife, or any other woman for that matter, can get as pissed off and rant and rave as much as she wants and I will not budge on my decision. I tell me wife that if she does not like me, or what I do, so terribly much, she should have considered my traits when we first met. In the meantime, she can decide if she wants me or someone else, and then she better act on it. Because if she just continually bitches about everything and fights me on everything, it will be me kicking her to the curb. It is rude, discourteous, and disloyal to constantly fight your man on everything, trying to prove him wrong and yourself right. If a woman is going to be that way, separate and go do your own thing. Maybe even pick up a woman for yourself.

Women are a mystery I would rather keep a mystery. Opening Pandora’s box is not something my reasoning or curiosity wishes to do, resulting in suicide. All I can do is continue letting women (my wife) do as they will – running the world within their narcissistic perfection – and continue doing as I will – walking my unyielding straight path across life with my steady stride, sometime bumping heads with on-comers or stepping on their trail of narcissistic perfections. I do not try to change a person, as one can only change under his own fruition, but I do not have to subscribe, uphold, agree, or accept another’s position. I simply agree to disagree as respectively as I am able to. Whether the other can do the same as I is something else entirely, and more often than not the other person can not and does not respectively agree to disagree.

I resolve to treat all women like children because I can not trust a woman to conduct herself and think as an adult. I have actually been using this practice for a number years, now, and it works very effectively.

Conclusion

I am no closer to understanding women.

The mark opens thought by interrupting its flow. Everything, and nothing: at the impossible origin of language, there is the strange project of a proper classification -- of noise.

Of grammatalogy we have still understood so little -- and even less of the strange warnings of its’ foremost alchemists. As always the letter cannot help but open itself. It presents, in its “late” way, the entire process of language -- geologically, and even, as it were transparently. A strange delusion, perhaps. Nonetheless, it is as though the noise organized itself. Not autopoesis, perhaps, but polyphony.

Why is a letter en-folded, why do we emphasize this openness, this self-opening of the letter -- that it opens itself simply by being presented? The letter opens, and is folded back, because it produces a fault -- it forbids comprehension, a mark. Demanding only precise resonance, articulation, repetition. And hence also perhaps nothing more than this hinge, this opaque window, an identification whose essence is rigorous exclusion. An ancient and rigorous discipline, and boundary upon which an imperceptible and unbelievable transformation takes place. Everything, and nothing...

A source, a scar. We glimpse in this strange “as one” a principle without principles. Nothing can become everything, and everything -- nothing. There can never be enough joy, Spinoza said. So, perhaps this, too, is another opening of the letter, that message from me to you, so that “this” can begin -- this becoming-human of the letter. A welcome, and perhaps an apology.

bunny didn't care, her arms were strong
she had so much love to give how could this be wrong?

so bunny danced all alone, singing her own little tunes
painting her shimmering rainbows all colours and hues

but... nobody knew the loneliness little bunny carried
like a tiny golden ingot deeply buried

"arrogant"... "dreamy"... "impatient"... and on and on
until poor bunny became tired, sad and worn

till one day bunny met gazelle, leaping in the mirrors of her dreams
bunny opened her heart but he ran away, frightened by her silent screams

silly little bunny, cowardly little gazelle, cyclic futility
"ur problem u see, is just insecurity"...

bunny is sorry but was it really all her fault?
