[caption id="attachment_440" align="aligncenter" width="203" caption="I miss the more serene Heidi"][/caption]

The first two episodes of Season Five of Project Runway are over and already Heidi Klum looks a little tired. The usual perky, fashionably dressed and impeccably styled host and executive producer appears a little too thin and stressed out. Season 5 has a trying-too-hard-to-live-up-to-past-season's vibe; the format is the same, but you can tell things have changed. This will be the last season aired on Bravo TV. Season 6 will be aired on the Lifetime Network and produced in LA (supposedly the geographical change works out better for Klum). Will the New York based supporting cast follow Klum? I can't imagine Project Runway without Nina Garcia, Michael Kors, or especially Tim Gunn. Will the ultimate prize still be a runway show at Bryant Park? NYC is the perfect backdrop for fashion designers--can LA live up to it? I would love to see previous LA based designers Kara Saun, Santino Rice, and Jeffery Sebelia make appearances. What I'm afraid of is that the show will pander to the Red Carpet culture rather than fashion editors. Also, isn't Lifetime "television for women?" Since when did Project Runway become a show "for women?"

As for the first two episodes: no one has stepped forward as the official a-hole, yet. In my opinion, two talented designers have been sent home already. I really thought Blayne would be the first one out with his walking Depends Undergarment creation, but Blayne is a "character." He reminds me of Kato Kaelin's gay cousin. In the last episode he called Heidi "Darth Vader" because she dressed in black. (Heidi had called Blayne's diaper-chic "butt ugly"--ouch). But then Blayne changed his mind and called Heidi "Darth-licious" in a manner that evoked the spirit of the great Christian Siriano. Also, guest judge Natalie Portman plugged her new vegan shoe line. I've been buying "vegan shoes" for years at Payless. I'm so ahead of my time.

Aside from being a painfully nice guy, Josh Peskowitz is one of the gentlemen behind the stylish and popular Men.Style.com. Much like last week's subject Alexander Olch, Mr. Peskowitz prefers the less is more approach to organization.

Mr. Peskowitz's description:

My desk is usually a mess, it used to bother me but now I am at peace with it. I know it's a tired excuse to some when they hear people like me say they can't find anything when the desk is clean, but in my case it happens true. The way my memory works, it's much easier to remember where I saw something last than to have a "filing" system or "whatever". Except for stamps, I can never find those damn things.

Most of the piles are look books and generally ones that I am using are in a closer orbit. There is a Voltron doll sitting right next to my computer that came as a promotional item, usually I don't keep those, but I had always wanted one as a kid and never could afford it, so I get a kick out of having one around now. The walls of the desk are covered with thank you cards, condolence cards and wall paper samples from Cole & Son, the best wallpaper maker in the world. There's also one of my favorite photographs by Albert Watson, with a woman's face superimposed with a tiger's. The prize on my desk though, without question is a bottle of Tabasco's Avery Island Reserve. It's a special limited edition hot sauce that they released this year, the 140th anniversary of the company. I use it almost every day on almost every meal and there is a good chance I will freak out when the bottle goes empty.

Considered to be one of the fashion capitals of the world, New York hosted the very first Fashion Week back in 1943 and is home to some of the industry's highest paid models and most prominent fashion editors, photographers, art directors, designers and fashion stylists.

Participating in New York's Fashion Week is an amazing opportunity for a new model. However most of the opportunities during Fashion Week are given to established models. Additionally, many of the events are only open to fashion industry professionals, top models, buyers, media, celebrities and socialites. However, in recent years other cities throughout the United States have begun to launch their own version of Fashion Week, which are far more accessible for individuals new the industry. These events found in San Francisco, Boston, Atlanta, Chicago, Baltimore and many other cities can be a great opportunity for new models to either break into the industry or work as interns and volunteers to learn more about the business and make useful contacts.

Contact the Fashion Week staff listed on the website to inquire about opportunities for new models or interns and volunteers. Additionally, the designers and sometimes even the photographers that are participating are usually posted on the website, so feel free to contact them directly as well.
