<p>Hace nada más y nada menos 11 años desde que en 1997 se publicara la primera entrega de la saga Fallout en Pc, un RPG post-apocaliptico basado en el miedo a una amenaza nuclear a escala global.</p>
<p>En esta ocasión, Bethesda Softworks, galardonada implicada en The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, plantea un nuevo mundo extenso a explorar libremente ahora en un ambiente post-nuclear, que llegará a PS3, XBOX360 y PC, en <strong>octubre del presente año 2008</strong>.</p>
<p>Esta nueva versión aboga por un mayor componente de juego de acción y disparo tanto en primera como en tercera persona, pudiendo acceder a un modo de puntería a cámara lenta en el que escoger la parte del cuerpo de los enemigos a apuntar mediante el gasto de puntos de habilidad. Nos enfrentaremos como es habitual en la saga a todo tipo de mutantes, con la ayuda de nuestro compañero perruno, y el Pip-Boy, un aparato que servirá de inventario de nuestro personaje.</p>
<p>Pero el componente de rol del juego aunque menor no va a desaparecer, podremos obtener experiencia al cumplir misiones o eliminar enemigos que nos permitirá reforzar habilidades del personaje, y tendremos a nuestra disposición todo un elenco de armas de largo alcance y cuerpo a cuerpo y elementos curativos.</p>

<p>Para aquell@s que disfrutaron de Oblivion, quizá les molestó el sistema de dificultad progresiva, es decir cualquiera que fuese la zona del mapa en la que encontrase enemigos éstos aumentaban su daño en función de su nivel, aumentando enormemente la dificultad del juego. En Fallout 3 se rumorea que existirán distintas zonas de enemigos que evolucionarán hasta un nivel concreto, por ejemplo si al nivel 2 encuentras un campamento en el que los enemigos están al nivel 5, siendo casi invencibles, y alcanzas el nivel 20 éstos pueden poseer un tope de nivel 10 por ejemplo, facilitando las cosas al jugador.</p>

<p><strong>Spore</strong> (Release: 8/09 )</p>

<p>You can't but help be caught up by the excitement around Spore. Sure it looks cutesy, with an aesthetic that might mark it out unjustly as something for the kids. But for anyone who's sat down with the freely available Creature Creator portion of the game, the appeal is immediate and engrossing. Create your own unique creature and customise it to extremes, then watch as the game skillfully animates your concocted monstrosity and fashions adorable baby versions to accompany it. The game is touted somewhat glibly as "Sim Everything". Take your lifeform from primordial bacteria and evolve it into a globe spanning civilisation. And then take it to the stars, into a galaxy of creatures populated by the imaginings of other players, uploaded to the global Sporepedia. It all sounds so... big. The scale and scope of Spore could turn out to be astonishing. Let's just hope the "game" portion is up to scratch.</p>

<p>It's Fallout-bloody-3, the next big RPG from the boys who made Oblivion. Roam free around post-nuclear apocalypse Washington, engage all manner of nasty mutants and bandits, work with or against a number of different factions, explore the wasteland to your heart's content, get a dog, oh yeah, and Liam Neeson is your father. What more needs to be said?</p>
<p><strong>Red Alert 3 </strong>(Release: 28/10 )</p>

<p>This one could go either way. While its great to see RA making a comeback after all these years, we still know very little about the game. The gameplay trailers floating around seem carefully planned and scripted and no one has had any hands-on time with the game yet. I've just had an email from EA telling me that I have my place in the open multiplayer beta that begins in the next few months, so we'll know soon enough how things are shaping up. Biggest hang up for me so far? All the unit barks seem lifted from RA2. Verbatim. That may sound petty, but it screams of corner-cutting to me. Of course, that'll probably be fixed somewhere down the line. Frank Klepacki (C&#38;C music maestro of Westwood yore) has been signed up to redo the Hell March tune again, and maybe some other audio work too.</p>
<p><strong>Dead Space </strong>(Release: 31/10 )</p>

<p>Survival horror? That's a genre the Resident Evil games ran into the ground right? Survival horror <em>in space</em>? Well, you might just be onto something there. To be fair, Dead Space is looking pretty spiffy and, more importantly, rather scary to boot. You'll play Isaac (Hayes?), a lone engineer trapped on a giant space ship whose crew seemed to have turned into...well, something. Something evil obviously. Interesting features abound - the devs are touting "strategic dismemberment", where it's often better to blow limbs off of your hideous enemies to slow them down rather than aim for something trivial like the head. The first-person HUD looks to be minimal, projected into the world holographically by the suit of armour you wear. And it all looks rather horrifying - some of the trailers show space nasties tearing fragile Isaac's soft man flesh to tiny bits. Aces.</p>

Das Gleiche könnte man jetzt auch von der <a title="E3 Insider - The Official E3 Website" href="http://www.e3expo.com/" target="_blank"><strong>E³</strong></a> behaupten. Hört man sich so die Kritiken an, scheint es als hätte die Messe ihre besten Zeiten hinter sich.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;"><strong>Dave Perry schimpft:</strong> <em>"Das Konzept ist kaputt, es ist teuer, die Botschaften sind verwässert, die Kunden werden ignoriert, die Ticketpolitik ist dumm und wenn nicht die gesamte Branche (weltweit) teilnimmt, ist es auch nicht wirklich real [...]".</em></p>
<p style="text-align:justify;"><strong>Electronic Arts-Chef John Riccitiello ist verärgert.</strong> <em>"Ich hasse die E3 in dieser Form. Entweder wir gehen zur alten E3 zurück, oder wir machen in Zukunft unsere eigenen Events [...]".</em><!--more--></p>
<p style="text-align:justify;"><strong>Ähnlich sieht es auch Laurent Detoc, Präsident von Ubisoft US.</strong> <em>"E3 in diesem Jahr ist furchtbar. Die ganze Welt war immer auf der E3 zu Gast. Jetzt wirkt es wie eine Handwerker-Show im Keller."</em></p>

<p style="text-align:justify;">Wenn man sich das so betrachtet, haben die Jungs nicht so ganz Unrecht. Die <a title="Electronic Entertainment Expo – Wikipedia" href="http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electronic_Entertainment_Expo" target="_blank"><strong>E³</strong></a> war alles andere als ein ereignisreiches Event. Die Einzigen die auf der Veranstaltung trumpfen konnten, war <strong>Microsoft</strong> selber. Doch anstatt wirklich innovativ Neues zu präsentieren, wurden auf der <a title="Trailers, Event Coverage and Game Debuts" href="http://www.gametrailers.com/e32k8.php?p=xb360&#38;show=Press+Conferences" target="_blank"><strong>MS Pressekonferenz</strong></a> kopierte <em>"Neuheiten"</em> aufgetischt.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Ein neues <a title="New Dashboard and Avatar" href="http://www.gametrailers.com/player/36339.html" target="_blank">Xbox Dashboard &#38; Avatare</a>, <a title="Microsoft Press Conference - Netflix" href="http://www.gametrailers.com/player/36223.html" target="_blank">TV und Movie on Demand Service</a> klingen anfänglich noch recht interessant. Schaut man aber genauer hin, überkommt einem ein "<em>Das hab ich doch schon mal gesehen Gefühl"</em>. Das <strong>neue Dashboard</strong> sieht wie die <strong>VISTA Oberfläche</strong> aus und die <strong>Avatare </strong>sind aufwendige <strong>Mii Klone</strong>. Wo wir gerade bei Klone sind. <a title="Reviews, Trailers, and Interviews" href="http://www.gametrailers.com/game/5147.html" target="_blank"><strong>Scene It</strong></a>, <a title="Reviews, Trailers, and Interviews" href="http://www.gametrailers.com/game/9162.html" target="_blank"><strong>You're in the Movies</strong></a> und <strong><a title="Reviews, Trailers, and Interviews" href="http://www.gametrailers.com/game/9160.html" target="_blank">Lips</a> </strong>sind einfach nur Partygames Kopien, die man eigentlich von Sony kennt, wie z.B. <strong>Buzz!, Eye Toy und Singstar</strong>.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Doch ich will hier <strong>Microsoft </strong>nicht schlecht machen, haben die doch auf der <a title="E3 Insider - The Official E3 Website" href="http://www.e3expo.com/" target="_blank"><strong>E³</strong></a> wenigstens eine vernünftige Pressekonferenz hingelegt. Anders sah es da bei <a title="Trailers, Event Coverage and Game Debuts" href="http://www.gametrailers.com/e32k8.php?p=ps3&#38;show=Press+Conferences" target="_blank"><strong>Sony</strong></a> und <strong><a title="Trailers, Event Coverage and Game Debuts" href="http://www.gametrailers.com/e32k8.php?p=wii&#38;show=Press+Conferences" target="_blank">Nintendo</a></strong> aus. Deren Präsentationen waren alles andere als spektakulär. <strong>Sony</strong> zeigte einfach keine Revolutionen, dafür nur halbseidene Trailer zu Spielen, die irgendwann in ferner Zukunft etwas werden sollen. Bei <strong>Nintendo</strong> war ebenfalls Kreativität Mangelware: Kein einziges Spiel für Hardcore-Fans. <strong>Nintendo</strong> bzw. <strong>Satoru Iwata </strong>hatte zumindest den Schneid und hat sich für die Pressekonferenz auf der <a title="E3 Insider - The Official E3 Website" href="http://www.e3expo.com/" target="_blank"><strong>E³</strong></a> entschuldigt.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;"><strong>Iwata:</strong> <em>"Sollte es irgendwelche Vorstellungen geben, die meinen, Nintendo würde die Core-Gamer im Stich lassen, so ist das ein klares Missverständnis und wir werden alles dafür tun, dieses Missverständnis aus der Welt zu schaffen. Es tut uns auch leid, für diejenigen, die ein neues Super Mario oder Zelda auf der E3 erwarteten. Wie ihr wisst, brauchen Titel solcher Größe eine lange Entwicklungszeit und wir glaubten einfach nicht daran, dass die diesjährige E3 der richtige Zeitpunkt für eine Vorstellung war."</em></p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Wenn man sich die Pressekonferenzen so miteinander vergleicht, sollte einem klar sein, wer das diesjährige Weihnachtsgeschäft führen wird. <strong>Microsoft!</strong> Auch wenn das eine oder andere <em>"kopiert"</em> wurde, steht die Firma ingesamt besser da, als <strong>Sony </strong>und <strong>Nintendo</strong>. Auch was das Line Up der Games betrifft: G<strong>ears of War 2</strong>, <strong>Guitar Hero World Tour</strong>, <strong>Fallout 3</strong>, <strong>Fable 2</strong>, <strong>Rockband 2</strong>, <strong>Resident Evil 5</strong> und <span style="text-decoration:underline;">die absolute </span><a title="Electronic Entertainment Expo – Wikipedia" href="http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electronic_Entertainment_Expo" target="_blank"><strong>E³</strong></a> <span style="text-decoration:underline;">Überraschung und Senstation des Jahres</span> <strong>Final Fantasy XIII (13)</strong> für die Xbox 360. <p>Bethesda's <a href="http://fallout.bethsoft.com/eng/home/home.php?fbid=1K2iG">Fallout 3</a> is coming! The long-anticipated third instalment (following Black Isle's 1997 hit <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fallout_%28video_game%29">Fallout</a> and 1998 sequel <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fallout_2">Fallout 2</a>) in the venerable post-apocalyptic RPG is slated for release later this year. Thanks to the recently wrapped-up <a href="http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2008/7/16/">Electronic Entertainment Expo</a>, there's some new info out.</p>

<p>In other news <a href="http://gamingtrend.com/Articles/articles.php?artID=267" target="_blank">GamePro gave the Fallout 3 E3 Trailer the number 11</a> in the list of the best at E3. Also French <a href="http://www.gamepro.fr/lire/fallout-3-rpg-bethesda/411/" target="_blank">GamePro.fr has a diferent take</a> on what they saw:</p>
<blockquote><p><span class="postbody">Our Vault Dweller does not run, he walks as stiff as a piece of wood. A rigid animation which caracterizes a game which, technically, appeared as rather deceiving. The level of details of the textures clearly reminded us of Oblivion, a trip into the past since much better looking things have been released since. Impossible also not to think of the deception the Fallout fans will feel when they get out of the Vault. They, who will discover a game the general appearance of which has nothing in common with the first two episodes and who will have to adhere to this new vision of the nuclear apocalypse which has more to do with a hesitating cybernetism à la Mad Max. They also who won't be able to ignore so much aliasing and these low res textures. However, even though Fallout 3 looks rather ugly, you only have to get away from the screen a little bit to seize this impression of greatness and this isolated look on the desolated world which surrounds you. <blockquote><p>This fall, it also plans to launch a new Windows game marketplace akin to its existing Xbox Live Marketplace. Content, such as new gameplay, demos, and trailers, can be free or paid based on publisher choice.</p>
<p>Features of the PC-based Live service, which have varying levels of support among Games for Windows-branded titles, include skill-based matchmaking, a friends list, voice and text chat, and achievements, some of which were already free. The system's user interface will also be redesigned.</p>
<p>Said Microsoft's Entertainment Business Division CTO Chris Satchell during a Gamefest keynote address, "The first UI was good but it was too console-centric. It wasn't really what Windows gamers wanted. We have a new UI that's consistent with the way Windows gamers want to interact. It's free to you as a developer, and we're reducing the technical requirements."</p></blockquote>

<p>Como ya saben hay mucha información y me enfoque en los juegos más conocidos y dividí este resumen en varias partes.</p>

<p><strong>Too Human</strong></p>

<p>Desarrollado por Silicon Knights creadores del magnífico Eternal Darkness traen a nosotros la primera parte de una trilogía de juegos; Too Human.</p>
<p>Este se basa en su personaje principal: Baldur, este ira aprendiendo y viajando atreves de su mundo pero irá cambiando junto con el gracias al sistema de alineaciones, runas, armamento y otras cosas.</p>
<p>Baldur podrá tener varias clases las cuales le darán diferentes habilidades y especialidades, como en todo RPG y juego de clases, esta decisión es muy importante.</p>
<p>Conforme avances en el juego te darás cuenta que hay una importante brecha entre lo cibernético/tecnológico y lo humano, esto hará que Baldur tenga diferentes habilidades (y debilidades).</p>
<p>En Too Human el nivel máximo es 50, pero podrás continuar la historia con tu mismo personaje (usando el mismo equipo, habilidades y nivel) lo cuan hace parecer que podrás continuar toda la trilogía con el mismo personaje, así ningún esfuerzo se malgasta.</p>
<p>El sistema de juego es bastante bueno, disparando armas a largo alcance con los gatillos y usando las armas melee como espadas con el stick derecho, lo gráficos son buenos aunque la cámara tiende a perder la acción y que seas atacado sin ver quién es aunque para esto puedes elegir diferentes tipos de cámara dependiendo a cual se ajuste mejor a tu tipo de juego.</p>
<p>La fecha de salida esta próxima para el 19 de Agosto de 2008, mas ya está disponible un demo en Xbox Live.</p>
<p><strong>Final Fantasy XIII</strong></p>

<p>Creado por Square-Enix y sin necesitar presentación fue anunciado Final Fantasy XIII para Xbox 360 al igual que para PS3, esta es la primera vez que uno de los juegos principales de Final Fantasy es lanzado en varias consolas simultáneamente.</p>
<p>Se dijo que Square se enfocara primero en el PS3 para poder lograr su máximo desempeño y luego para la Xbox 360.</p>
<p>No se ha dicho mucho sobre este, pero se puede esperar lo mínimo de cualquier Final Fantasy; un sistema de juego para RPG muy bueno y gráficos insuperables.</p>
<p>La fecha de lanzamiento esta aun por anunciarse para algún momento del 2009.</p>

<p><strong>Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe</strong></p>

<p>Verdaderamente una de las mezclas/crossover más extrañas que se han visto, MK vs. DC trae a los superhéroes y villanos de DC (Superman, Batman, Flash) y a los guerreros de Mortal Kombat a pelear por algo verdaderamente incierto pero que podemos apostar es la humanidad nuevamente.</p>
<p>No se ha anunciado mucho sobre este juego mas que, obviamente, es un juego de peleas.</p>
<p>Una de las cuestiones que más controversia trajo a este juego fueron los clásicos Fatalities (movimientos finales que mataban a tu oponente en una manera más o menos sanguinaria en los juegos de MK) ya que sería difícil ver a Batman arrancándole partes del cuerpo a alguien, o Superman siendo decapitado, sobre esto se hablo en el E3 y se especifico que tanto los personajes de Mortal Kombat como los villanos de DC tienen Fatalities y los superhéroes solo Brutalities (que son una serie de golpes muy rápida y larga) ya que los héroes no matan gente.</p>
<p>También se agrego lo que son los Pro-Moves, que son solo oportunidades muy cerradas de hacer combos muy poderosos y no habrá barras de vida, si no que el daño se irá mostrando como manchas de sangre, trajes y mascaras rotas y caras golpeadas en los personajes.</p>
<p>MK vs. DC está anunciado para el 3 de Noviembre de 2008.</p>
<p><strong>Star Wars: The Force Unleashed</strong></p>

<p>Star Wars, que más se puede decir.</p>
<p>Siguiendo la historia de George Lucas, The Force Unleashed te pone en el papel del aprendiz secreto de Darth Vader y se ubica entre el episodio III y IV, ayudaras a Vader en secreto a levantar el imperio, mas al no estar de ningún lado pelearas contra todo aquel que se te ponga enfrente.</p>
<p>Mucho ya se ha hablado sobre el sistema de Escenarios por partículas que permite destruir casi cualquier cosa de la manera más realista posible y sobre el Euphoria Engine que hará las reacciones de los enemigos mucho más realista y volviendo al juego muy difícil de repetir 2 veces.</p>
<p>Realmente no se mostro mucho sobre el juego en sí, se hablo mas sobre la trama y los personajes, aunque por los videos y demos se logro demostrar que Lucas Arts si puede hacer un buen juego de Star Wars.</p>
<p>Su fecha de lanzamiento está programada para el 16 de Septiembre de 2008.</p>

<p><strong>Guitar Hero World Tour</strong></p>

<p>Siguiendo la afamada serie reconocida por su fantástica guitarra de plástico, Guitar Hero World Tour tratara de superar lo ya establecido por Rock Band; su competencia directa.</p>
<p>Esta vez no solo vendrá con una guitarra si no con una batería y un micrófono también.</p>
<p>La guitarra mantiene el diseño original pero llevara un nuevo panel sensible al tacto para nuevas partes en las que tendrás que hacer tappings (ósea golpear las cuerdas sin usar la plumilla, o en este caso presionar los botones sin usar la “Strum bar”) y para deslizar.</p>
<p>La batería tendrá 5 pads y el pedal, lo que lo hará mas complejo que el Rock Band, aparte de que el diseño es mas acercado a una batería real que a una batería electrónica (ni tanto…).</p>
<p>Realmente el sistema de juego se ve y juega exactamente igual que el Rock Band (casi parece plagio) aunque contara con partes del juego únicas como son el compositor, en el cual podrás crear tus propias canciones, tocarlas y compartirlas vía Xbox Live, aunque no cuenta con grabación de vocales ni nada parecido.</p>
<p>Según afirmo Neversoft, el sistema de creación de personajes será muy bueno, basándose en sus mejores momentos del creador de personajes del Tony Hawk y otros juegos con una gran función de este tipo.</p>
<p>Su fecha de lanzamiento es el 26 de Octubre de 2008.</p>
<p><strong>Prince of Persia</strong></p>

<p>Basado en los juegos originales y la gran saga este nuevo Prince of Persia promete hace mucho más que sus antecesores.</p>
<p>Creado sobre la plataforma y código de Assassin’s Creed, esta vez no habrá nada de movimientos desbloqueables y ningún tipo de upgrades para el Príncipe así que el que uses en los primeros minutos será el mismo que uses para vencer al jefe final en el ultimo calabozo, pero el mundo en el que vive este se verá cambiado y evolucionara conforme avance el juego.</p>
<p>Acompañando al Príncipe estará Elika, una poderosa maga que ayudara al príncipe en su batalla contra el mal, limpiando de la “corrupción” y obscuridad al mundo, y conforme hagas esto iras desbloqueando mas magia para Elika.</p>
<p>Basandose en la plataforma de Assassin’s Creed tendrás que moverte ágilmente como Altair lo hizo, pero esta vez no es solo presionar el botón o dejarlo presionado, debes de presionarlo justo en el momento así que un buen salto llevara más tiempo en perfeccionar.</p>
<p>El combate se mantiene siempre 1 vs. 1 y por esto mismo el manejo es un poco mas cinemático y llevara muchas animaciones y momentos geniales durante las batallas, también cada botón está asignado a un tipo de acción lo cual (se supone) mantendrá muy dinámico el sistema y no llevara combo alguno.</p>
<p>Saldra a la venta el 18 de Noviembre de 2008.</p>
<p><strong>Call of Duty: World at War</strong></p>

<p>El nuevo sucesor en la línea de FPS (First Person Shooters, tiradores en primera persona) creados por Activision, esta vez volverá a la 2ª guerra mundial como era costumbre pero basado en el exitoso antecesor Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.</p>
<p>Esta vez se enfocara en la Campaña sobre el Océano Pacifico en contra de las Tropas japonesas, pero por primera vez también dará un enfoque a la campaña rusa, no solo sobre la defensa si no a el ataque hacia Alemania y sobre Europa.</p>
<p>Como Actor invitado para darle voz a uno de los personajes principales con el que convivirás en gran parte de tu campaña estará Keifer Sutherland (mejor conocido como Jack Bauer de la serie 24).</p>
<p>Su salida está programada para el 11 de Noviembre de 2008.</p>
<p><strong>Soulcalibur IV</strong></p>

<p>Que más se puede decir sobre este título que no se haya dicho ya? De hecho, no se dijo casi nada nuevo, solo demostraciones de los personajes y que el juego llego al estado “Gold”, entiéndase que ya está siendo producido y distribuido.</p>

<title><![CDATA[Sony Makes Me Happy But Is So Evil]]></title>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Sony's conference at E3 this year consisted mostly of self-aggrandizement and jabs at other gaming companies, and a lot of previews that made me excited. I guess Sony has the one-up this year since a lot of what people want from the console <em>hasn't actually been released yet</em>, unlike Microsoft which released <em>Halo 3</em><br />
on the 360 and suddenly found themselves without anything that people were actually waiting for, except maybe Fable 2 which is made by Peter Molyneaux which means that half of what he's said about it won't be in the actual game. Sony's currently waiting on half of its big propaganda movers like <em>LittleBigPlanet</em> and <em>Killzone 2</em> and <em>Resistance 2</em>. The other half--<em>Heavenly Sword </em>and <em>MGS4--</em>have already come out and have helped establish the system. Much like <em>Gears of War</em> and then later <em>Halo 3</em> for the 360.</p>
<p>Why am I the only person drawing parallelisms?</p>
<p>Anyway, to the conference.</p>
<p><strong>The Good: </strong><em>Greatest Hits</em> games being released. That means I can finally get <em>Sigma</em> for cheap. Though most people who have a PS3 already have these games anyway. It's really just there to get people to buy more consoles since those games are cheaper. Revealing PS2, PSN and PSP content. The PS2 is still alive? Apparently. Even so much that it's getting The Force Unleashed. How? Search me.</p>
<p>PSN Video is finally out, and I can rent movies without going anywhere. It's not as awesome as Netflix, but who wants to pay for Live and Netflix subscriptions anyway? I don't watch enough movies to care all too much. The feature is cool.</p>
<p>God of War 3 finally announced. Apparently the CGI trailer revealed at E3 is supposed to resemble the actual graphics of the game. That's kind of scary. Now I'll need to get it or be killed.</p>
<p>LittleBigPlanet is looking more cute than ever. Apparently you can make PowerPoint Presentations with it. You know I'm never going to use Office again. Sony is also getting two MMOs on the console: DC Universe Online and The Agency. Wow.</p>
<p>Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm and Fallout 3 (also out on 360) look great. Both are on my to-get list. I'm going to be poor.</p>
<p>Sony reveals MAG: Massive Action Game (or Mega Awesome Game in my book) which is finally what feels like an all-out war between two teams of 128 players, each divided into squads of 8, led by one particularly talented player. Lots of awesome.</p>
<p><strong>The Bad:</strong> First off, I want to say that I in no way condone <em>anyone</em> talking like their console is cooler than sliced bread and sounding like you're in an infomercial, even Sony. This goes for Nintendo and Microsoft, too. This E3 was filled with words like "successful" and "engaging" and "most" and smatterings of features everywhere ("Blu Ray Storage capacities" and "crisp high-definition" and "innovative gameplay") and Sony was just irritating as they overflattered their system.</p>
<p>PS2 is dead. Leave it alone, Sony. They keep releasing bad softcore versions of next-gen games on the PS2 and Wii and it's driving me crazy. Wii Rock Band and PS2 Rock Band were awful. Just get with the program.</p>
<p>Nobody likes Buzz. I don't know anyone who thinks Buzz is a cool game. Why are we getting seven hundred different versions of it? And <em>SingStar </em>is fine, but do you have to make a new version <em>every two months</em>?</p>
<p>You talked way too much about stuff we don't really care about. Also, releasing two MMO simultaneously is really bad business. Of course, Sony still hasn't caught on to the MMO craze, since they're responsible for the disasters that are Everquest 2, Star Wars Galaxies and The Matrix Online--all of which I have played recently and been frustratingly disappointed with.</p>
<p><em>What happened to Final Fantasy?</em> Are you going to talk about it? Where's <em>FFXIII Versus</em>? That's still an exclusive, right?</p>
<p>And of course there's the fact that the conference was mostly filled with fluff of developers talking about how awesome the PS3 is and not about how many other games and features we want to see. When's <em>Home</em> coming out? What's the new stuff Kojima's working on? What about <em>Zone of the Enders 3</em>? Or <em>Heavy Rain</em>? The elusive Quantic Dream title was shown behind closed doors, but why?</p>
<p>Sony has plenty lined up for the future--they just refused to share it with us, and instead gave us a lot of lofty crap about how awesome they are. At least they didn't throw too many numbers at us like Nintendo did, and end with words about how much they're not a <em>fad</em>. But still, the lack of information was bothersome.</p>
<p>In the end, I <em>liked</em> the Sony conference. I had my qualms with it, but I <em>hated </em>the other companies'. I guess you could say that makes me a fanboy, but to be honest it's just logic that goes into my appreciation for the PS3. The Wii is an overhyped gimmick. The Xbox 360 is a faulty tool that doesn't push next-gen far enough. In the end I like the flashiest, most powerful and most accessible technology. I don't pay monthly fees and I don't have friend codes to bother with. The PS3 and I are a perfect match.</p>
<p>Sony is just evil.</p>

<p>Very interesting and detailed <a href="http://www.gamesradar.com/f/fallout-3-post-play-interview/a-2008072113277590042" target="_blank">interview with Todd Howard and Emil Pagliarulo at GamesRadar/PCGamer</a>, it's filled with spoilers though:</p>
<blockquote><p><strong>PCG:</strong> Do you have a rule for a bare-minimum number of ways to solve a quest?<br />
<strong>Todd:</strong> No, we just do whatever comes naturally. We made a list initially showing the paths, so that we weren’t doing an overabundance of stealth paths versus other skills so that there was a good matrix, but if something fit in one we did it, and if it didn’t fit…<br />
<strong>Emil:</strong> But as the game grew, just like we ended up making the game bigger, putting more stuff in, I think the quests themselves started to expand. We realized during playthroughs, you know what, there’s no talking path through this quest, or there’s no stealth path, so we went back and added that in. There are fewer quests and fewer NPCs, but probably just as much dialogue as Oblivion, just in all the variations.<br />
<strong>Todd:</strong> It’s like when you were doing the bomb quest, and you were asking “Can I do this this way?” And so through testing we asked the same things, like “What if I kill Lucas Sims?” And ok, you have to go to the son. That kind of stuff.<br />
<strong>Emil:</strong> We wanted to cover as many of those bases as we could.</p>
<p><strong>PCG:</strong> So you tried to make it so that even if you take a few people out of the equation, the quest is still solvable?<br />
<strong>Todd:</strong> As much as possible. It’s not always the case. You might kill someone and it will tell you “You can’t finish this quest anymore, this person has died.” Pretty much 99.9 percent of people in the game can be killed.<br />
<strong>Emil:</strong> Yeah, even the quest-givers. They give you a quest, you blow their head off, that’s your decision. It’s simply more fun for the player where you might close off branches of the quest, but other branches are still open.<br />
<strong>Todd:</strong> And the other answer to that question is that we don’t want players to have the expectation that they’ll be able to do every quest any style. Pretty much, Super-Duper Mart, there’s no way to talk your way through that. We get the question a lot, “Is there a non-violent path through the whole game?” No. I mean, you might be able to, I guess, but it’s not a goal.<br />
<strong>Emil:</strong> I guess technically, because there’s a Stealth Boy, and because there’s a Protectron [security robot] in the back room of that Super-Duper Mart, if you could sneak in there and hack that computer, you could activate that Protectron, he’ll go and he’ll kick the s*** out of all of those raiders.<br />
<strong>Todd:</strong> There are probably too many for him to kill every single one of them.<br />
Emil: But enough to whittle them down so that science-boy could definitely get through there.</p></blockquote>

<p>So why use VATS when you can just run-and-gun your way through? As Executive Producer Todd Howard told us VATS ensures more critical hits and allows some strategic choices like deciding whether to destroy an enemy's leg to hinder movement or their arm to make them drop their weapon. Frankly the low-level monsters we were fighting - wild dogs and fire ant warriors - didn't pose a big enough threat or much opportunity to engage in strategy.</p>
<p>I loved Fallout 2 as much as the next PC gamer but some of the early fights, like when you're beating rats to death with a stick, get a tad tedious using turn-based combat. Tedious? Actually I found them to be soul-destroyingly boring. Thankfully, this won't be a problem with Fallout 3.</p></blockquote>
<p><a href="http://www.gameshark.com/previews/3378/E3-2008-Fallout-3-Preview.htm" target="_blank">GameShark</a>:</p>
<blockquote><p>While we'd like to see the accuracy of real-time fire increased a bit, it's clear that the reduced precision comes as a way of balancing use of V.A.T.S. Still, combat is full of visceral thrills. One particularly cool scene during our time with the game took place when blasting a raider at point blank range, first with a pistol and then with a baseball bat. The action slows down and shows you're kill shot in all of its bloody glory. This is without a doubt an eye popping game and is certainly M rated. The combat looks wonderfully brutal.</p>
<p><em>Fallout 3</em> distinguishes itself with this inventive combat system and we're pleasantly surprised at how well it works. <p>Ceritanya Darth Vader punya secret apprentice... Kita maenin aprentice-nya itu. Kalo dari segi konsep yang banyak mengumbar "force" sih sepertinya menjanjikan. Tapi, somehow, gw meragukan solid-nya gameplay... Still, since it's theme is around starwars, kemungkinan besar gw bakal beli ni game...</p>

<p>Ini game yg sebelumnya gw sama sekali ga gubris. Tapi setelah sempet liat trailernya, kynya lumayan juga ini game. Dia sih ngaku2nya Action RPG... Tapi gw liatnya lebih ke action adventure, dengan "sedikit" bumbu RPG...</p>

<p>10 Oktober - Fallout 3 (4 pts)</h2>
<p>RPG post apocalyptic yg banyak ditunggu2 penggemarnya. Awalnya game ini mau dibikin jadi first person RPG... Tapi menurut perkembangan terakhir, kabarnya pemain bisa milih mau maen di first person atau third person... Untunglah, gw ga bisa maen first person...</p>

<p>Tipikal RPG barat, gameplaynya mirip2 StarWars Knight of the Old Republic, Jade Empire, dll... Bedanya klo di fable ga ada party2-an. I like the first fable... So, big chances are, I'm going to like the sequel as well... Enough said...</p>

<p>20 Oktober - Dead Space (3 pts)</h2>
<p>Game survival horror, tentang astronot di luar angkasa (ya iya lahhh.... masa astronot di bawah laut?). Intinya dia harus berjuang sendirian supaya selamat. Yang menarik dari game ini adalah settingnya yg di luar angkasa dan nuansa yang serba gelap (bioshock, anyone?). Sedikit meragukan, harus liat perkembangannya lagi baru bisa mutusin mau beli apa kagak...</p>

<p>Yaaayyy, my favourite xbox360 games' sequel !!! Finally... November ini benar2 akan menjadi "november ceria"... hahahaha... btw, kynya tiap tahun di bulan november selalu keluar game2 dahsyat yah? Tahun 2007 ada Assassin's Creed (which happen to SUCK!) dan Mass Effect... Tahun 2006 ada Gears of War (well, i haven't bought my xbox360 back then, but even so, i know this is a must have). Tahun 2009? FFXIII?</p>

<p>Lagi2 J-RPG buatan SquareEnix yang keluar di XBOX360... Selain di XBOX360, the last remnant juga bakal keluar di PS3, dan seperti biasa, untuk game2 multiconsole, pasti setelah hands-on, bakalan banyak beredar head to head last remnant ps3 vs last remnant xbox360... Yang ujung2nya debat2an tentang mana console nextgen yg paling OK... Guys... Nintendo Wii has won the war, even though it's not really a nextgen console...</p>

<td>Fallout 3 is destined to be the standard-bearer for all Post Nuclear Apocalypse Action Role Playing games to follow. Critical reception of the game at this year's E3 was sweepingly, unanimously positive, despite the fact the 90% of the press had never even heard of Fallout 1 or 2. (Myself included.)</td>

<p>The story of Fallout 3 in the words of Bethesda Game Studios is as follows: Vault 101 – Jewel of the Wastes. For 200 years, Vault 101 has faithfully served the surviving residents of Washington DC and its environs, now known as the Capital Wasteland. Though the global atomic war of 2077 left the US all but destroyed, the residents of Vault 101 enjoy a life free from the constant stress of the outside world. Giant Insects, Raiders, Slavers, and yes, even Super Mutants are all no match for superior Vault-Tec® engineering. Yet one fateful morning, you awake to find that your father has defied the Overseer and left the comfort and security afforded by Vault 101 for reasons unknown. Leaving the only home you’ve ever known, you emerge from the Vault into the harsh Wasteland sun to search for your father, and the truth.</p>

<p>On your way to find your absentee father, you will be presented with numerous moral choices that will affect your gameplay experience and the way your fellow survivors interact with you. You will also be presented with numerous individual body parts that you can target (and blow to smithereens in glorious showers of slow motion blood and gore) on the various nuclear mutants populating the wasteland, using your totally awesome Vault-Tec Assisted Targeting System.</p>
