There's still time to come to Relay for Life.  SLCN has been holding its twelve hour telethon - the first telethon held in a virtual world.  And now you can come down and see thirty-five spectacular builds, and a host of fun events.  For example, right by our studio, there's bumper boats, courtesy of the Galaxy and  a wonderful Swan Boat ride that is very moving, created by the Spirit Chasers RfL team.

But that's not all!  There is 35 Sim wide Scavenger Hunt that you can participate in. There is the Silent Auction Sim area where unique, often one of a kind, SL and REAL Life Items are available for viewing and bidding, with 100% of ALL  money going to the Relay For Life of Second Life.

Our you could spens a few hours lazing by the water in the  Fishing area where you can compete in fishing contests, or maybe a  leisurely Gondola boat ride and then explore an Italian Villa and wander into the forests to hear the Elven Music Circle in the Lower Water Sim area.

If you are feeling full of energy, there  is a Rodeo area where you can test your bull riding and barrel racing skills, purchase some great Western Gear (100% of ALLl money to the Relay For Life of SL),

Test your skills in the Official Relay Bow and Archery area where you can shoot at some targets.

There is even a scenic picture spot with pose balls if you feel like a quiet moment away from it all just behind the Silent Auction building.  Or you can head on up to one of the 4 Live Music Sims and boogie down in Shea Stadium, or rock out in New Orleans. Shimmy down in the Futuristic Sim or keep your toes tapping in a Robinson Crusoe theme inspired area.  It is hours of great live entertainment.

And there are some fantastic builds here.  We're going to be looking at some of them in the next edition of Prim Perfect.  But my favourite is the SLCN studio.  If you look closely, you'll see some resemblance to our wonderful SL5B build - and that's not so surprising ... when we relaised we only had a day to create it,  the magnificient team of Jeremey Ryan of Barefoot Homes & Designs and Dellybean North of True North Designs, while the interior was firnished by Maxwell Graf of Rustica and the gardens were landscaped by Anhayla Lycia of Treesong Designs.

The Relay continues till 10 am SLT on Sunday, and the builds will only be up for a very short spell so come down to heroes NOW!!!  Explore the sims - and make sure that you donate to join the fight back against cancer!

On a whim I decided to join Mike for yesterday's event and I thought I might share some of the experience here. First off was Elitist Death Squad, who once again delivered a short but extremely funny show (bible quotations included), but like so often, their technical riffs drowned in the horrible settings that were made by the first sound technician. When Man Made Suicide fired up their instruments, the sound had miraculously gotten worse (I have seldom seen that it got worse over the course of an evening). After a few (not so nice) suggestions by the band, the sound guy ran for the hills and a replacement took over. Finally somebody who knew what he was doing took over the helm and the sound started to be a bit better (although the terrible setting of the speakers did not allow for an immense improvement). I did not see much of MMS because the sound was really too terrible to stand.

Assorted Nails, a band from Freiburg, but with a Luxembourgian front man managed to stir up the stiff crowd and it started to feel like a real metal event. Both Scarred and Cleanstate delivered an impressive show (no surprises here), but due to all the delays, they played for a half empty room. The event was ok, and the beer was cheap, but next time they should try to find a sound technician with some experience in metal. Furthermore, they should have positioned the loudspeakers in a way that it would have been possible to actually hear the singer, while standing in the front row.

I hope they will repeat this event while keeping the above mishaps in mind and all should go well. Pictures can be found here.

It seems like it was just last month since I started doing this blog and I really enjoyed it. My wanderings for the last year has been covered here, now that it already reached this far, I 'm gonna keep this updated as much as possible.

I started this blog last July 9, 2007 for the purpose of blogging(Of course moron!!), to develop my writing skills(hopefully, it did) and because some of my friends are also blogging(haha! poor imitation).

For the first year of it's existence, The Endless Wanderer has produced 35 articles/post and reached more than 4,000 hits(yeah it's not that much), and I would like to thank the ones(including you!) who spent their time visiting and reading this site, ARIGATOU GOZAIMASHITA!!!!

(NC)—The behavioural disorder Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) has been recognized and treated since 1902. However, it is only in the last 20 years or so that research has demonstrated that it is a neurobiological disorder with far-reaching impact on children.

Originally it was believed that ADHD was a condition that children would eventually outgrow. We now understand that ADHD is not caused by poor parenting, poor teachers or schools, or family problems, but due to chemical differences in the brain. It is not surprising, therefore that as many as 60 per cent of children diagnosed with ADHD will continue to have symptoms into adulthood if not properly treated.

Despite increased awareness and identification of the disorder, many children are not provided with optimal treatment that provides continuous symptom relief. It is important to remember that ADHD is a disorder requiring treatment, not a set of behaviours requiring controls. Sub-optimal treatment can have serious consequences for children such as a lack of friends, accidental death, injury, sexually transmitted diseases, substance abuse, criminal activity, and causing marital difficulties for their parents.

Research indicates the greatest improvement in symptoms is seen with a combination of counselling and medical treatment. For many children and their families, ADHD diagnosis provides a welcome explanation for their difficulties and leads to appropriate treatment.

All medications currently approved to treat ADHD belong to a class called stimulants. A number of new investigational ADHD treatments offer great promise and in the future Canadians will have more choice in ADHD treatment.

and i was thinking, wouldn't it be nice to go back and attend the event and see everyone again? seniors, juniors, teachers, teammates, and even people you know existed but didn't really get to know them. i kinda loved the atmosphere, especially when everyone just crowd together and sing the hc songs, sway to the mass dances and just chat with friends. an event to celebrate mid-autumn festival, but more importantly, provides a neat place to catch up with classmates. too bad i'm here, so far away from home.

i haven't been back to jc for 2 years. the last time i went back was maf 06 if i'm not wrong. and i haven't been back to anderson for i-forgot-how-many-years. they said the outdoor court will be furnished with an indoor sports complex and i realised i haven't even seen the newly upgraded campus. hmm, time really flies.

that day, i was chatting with friends and we were talking about our school songs. i realised i couldn't even sing my jc school anthem for goodness sake. i mean, i can still hum it but the lyrics were taking a toll on me. and because i've only learnt it in jc2 (due to the merger), you can't blame me for not remembering how to sing it. if you don't believe me, look no further.

now you know why i still struggle to remember it. i don't deny that i can only read and understand less than 60% of it. and that's only the first verse. -_-'' but if you're feeling a lil' nostalgic about hc days, you can find heaps of familiar songs here. i found my favourite college song "我要唱一首华初的歌" here too. and it reminds me of 黄城, maf, orientation etc. it's a really nice song written by the famous alumnus 梁文福. somehow, i feel really proud of hc although i'm not the super enthu kind back then.

and speaking of orientation, i chanced upon the orientation video for my year. and i realised every video will include things that the cohort can identify with. oh well, the one thing i will remember about orientation is that everyone was wearing different uniforms for the first three months. and my class was rather unusual because it was not heavily dominated by tchs boys or nanyang girls, but a mix of rv girls and dhs boys. the rv uniform which i have no idea why it's called a pinafore. till now, i still think it's more of a dress than a pinafore. oh well, i digressed.

anyway, i don't know why but i have a sudden urge to wear my uniform again. this time round, i promise i will wear it nicely with the drawstring neatly tucked, or the belt for my pinafore, um, not so loosly hung at the hips.

well, school days were fun. very fun indeed. and i'm glad school's starting tmr, even though i can wear whatever i want and there's no uniform.

even though it's not hwa chong, or anderson anymore.

Conclusion = Guys are stupid wtf.

After that was dinner at Summer Steamboat which cost RM20 for an all-you-can-eat fare. Except that by the term "all you can eat" they really mean "all you can force youself to telan without vomiting" cause the food wasn't good. By any standards. Again, the guys kinda enjoyed it cause they think "cheap + full = satisfaction".

I stress, guys are stupid.

After dinner, I rushed back to Subang cause we were heading to Sri Hartamas for a few drinks.

Yah, so rushed was I that I actually changed my shirt in my car right outside Shun's house. Damn tak tau malu edi la.

The place was called "Decanter" and it was really this sorta dingy little place where young people (I stress, this is NOT an uncle bar) went to fag and drink and hang out.

The beer was pretty cheap at RM29 a jug. It did taste a little watered down, tho. Oh well, more water equals less alcohol equals longer time to getting drunk.

We played some card and dice games and I don't know why the hell I was so swei cause I lost almost every single round wtf. One hour into the session and I was already tipsy.

So much for UK alcohol training pft.

And because I refused to drink anymore (I get really red and fugly when I drink too much ugh), Shun became my tanker.

And I kept losing.. and she kept drinking..

Til she ended up really KOed and had to puke TWICE.

Lol. Thank goodness the guys are seasoned alcoholics so they had plastic bags aplenty in their cars.

Because we were too drunk to go home, we stopped by at the 24hour McD's to sober up.

But we locked Shun up in the car cause she couldn't move a muscle wtf.

All in all last night was pretty fun! Except for the fact that I went to sleep after 5am and my mum woke me up at 12pm shouting, "Going out for lunch in 10 minutes ah! 10 minutes ah! Faster get ready ah!" Argh damn annoying!

Experts believe that our nighttime dreams deal with concerns, worries, or events that we experience during our waking hours. A study done in 2003 speculated that about 50-percent of people have work-related nightmares.

In brief, dreams are like moves that streams through our minds, directed and produced by our subconscious. Dreams can help solve knotty problems, or simply give voice to ongoing issues. Some dreamers even implant a before-bed suggestion to dream a solution to a specific problem, like “tonight’s dream will help me overcome my problem with Jack.”

The connection between dreams and our subconscious has been speculated on for centuries. In fact, Aristotle theorized that there is a definite connection between dreams, emotional needs and waking experiences. However, in order to take full advantage of our nighttime movies, we need to keep dream journals that record as much detail as can be remembered.

To fully understand our dreams, experts like Carl Jung and Ira Progoff, believe a series of dreams must be examined, not just a single night’s images. To assist in the interpretative process, the following steps are suggested:

1. Date and time your dream. You may find that the dreams you have just before waking have different themes than those right after going to sleep. When you date your dream, don’t forget to include the year.

2. Title your dreams, like The Monkey Attacked the Cow, Airplanes Explode over the North Pole, or Jack Won’t Stop Pulling My Hair. Over a period of time, you’ll probably find recurring themes, like dreams with spiders, or plane crashes, or being chased.

3. Briefly note the day’s events. If you write down any irritations, worries, angers, or heightened emotions you had during the day, you may be able to see a clear correlation between the day’s events and your dreams.

4. Record your dream in as much detail as possible, including the emotions you experienced during the dream, AND the emotions you experienced in recording the dream. Feel free to illustrate your dream, either through a drawing or photograph.

5. List the important keywords from your dream. These might be words like love, hero, flying, snakes, puppies, peace or death.

6. Interpret the dream. Without using devices like a dream dictionary, try to interpret what you feel the dream was about. Was it about being trapped, breaking free, venting strong emotions, taking a journey, or?? There is no right or wrong answer—so allow yourself the freedom of speculating on a meaning.

7. Look for recurring themes. Once a month, look back through your dream journal, searching for repeating patterns. If you find one, your inner self is trying its best to give you an important message. Don’t forget to look for patterns in your list of important keywords.

Today, however, I wish to talk of time-limits. Dr. Horrible is a website I feel obligated to mention. I'm one of those Whedon fans (yes, those) and I couldn't bear to think that one of you hadn't yet seen it. You won't all like it, but if only one of you does, my mission is a success. You only have until the end of today to watch it before it disappears into the forbidden sea of 404.

Also, The Dark Knight won't be in theatres forever. It demands the love of the peoples. Seriously, the audience in my town went nuts at the ending. There was cheering and clapping for a good couple of minutes. It was one of those movies worth watching with a crowd.

Also, it took 15 years, but finally Mark Hamill has been dethroned. I consider Ledger to be the definitive Joker; he has followed the comic roots back to the seed of Frank Miller and has allowed it to fully blossom. This is the most accurate portrayal of the villain that's ever been done on film and you should consider yourself fortunate that you get to watch it.

Seriously, Ledger ended his stay with us on an excellent note and only now do I realize what has been lost.

But...Ugh! I hate posts about my personal goings-ons. It's so boring, you know? Let's face it, those of you who would watch Dr. Horrible likely have already. And your opinion of the Dark Knight will not be persuaded by such a lonely blog, whether you have no interest or you love it.

The only real news is that the Business is For Sale. Game Haus really has worked out as a business, but it demands far more time and money than I could possibly give at this point. I hope it changes hands and remains in the area for all you geeks in the area. As for myself... I'm compelled, as a salmon is to swim upstream; I must return to the video game industry as a creator and not as a retailer. I just can't help it. It's like fate or something. If anyone out there is interested in picking up this fledgling retail outlet, let me know. I was never in it for the money, so you'll get a pretty good price.
It'd be a shame if I had to flat-out close it, but I simply cannot ignore that Siren's song.

Anyway, I'll see you guys on Monday. I WILL write about Wagyan Land, even if I have to kill myself to do it. I hope that's just me kidding around again. We'll see. :(

Creative Writing Tips –

Our plotting stage is our testing area.

Everything in the plot should be tested for its effectiveness before we put in into our stories. If you believe something in your plot could be better, make it better.

Figuring everything out in your plot will save you time rewriting later.

So how do you test your plot?

Start with everything that has gone into it.

For example...

• Are the events interesting?
• Does your plot contain problems for the character to solve?
• Have you given your character a goal?
• Is the conflict strong?
• Is the resolution of the conflict interesting?
• Is the character interesting?
• Is the setting of the story interesting?
• Will the incident or situation be interesting to your readers?
• Etc

Make a list of what your plot contains. Comb through it carefully and tick off each item. If you find that some things need to be worked on some more, work on them.

I know to some this might be tedious work, but…
