That black hole that was going to eat the Earth? Forget about it, and keep making the mortgage payments — those of you who still have them.

A new particle accelerator, the Large Hadron Collider, scheduled to go into operation this fall near Geneva, is no threat to the Earth or the universe, according to a safety review that was approved Friday by the governing council of the European Organization for Nuclear Research, or CERN, which is building the collider.

“There is no basis for any concerns about the consequences of new particles or forms of matter that could possibly be produced by the LHC,” the safety assessment group wrote in the report.

Whatever the collider will do, they said, nature has already done many times oversummary.

The machine is designed to speed protons, the building blocks of ordinary matter, to energies of seven trillion electron volts, then crash them together to produce tiny fireballs, miniature versions of the Big Bang.

Some critics argue that CERN has ignored or played down a risk that the collider could produce a black hole that would swallow the Earth or create some other dangerous particle.

The safety group, however, pointed out that cosmic rays have produced equally energetic collisions with the Earth and other objects in the cosmos over and over again. But the stars and galaxies endure.

Until body gives out, I will deal with the demons that come with being the "non-offending parent." I will beat myself up for not pushing harder for an answer when the first Doctor mentioned suspected sexual abuse.

They have a long list of about twenty such claimants but they believe they were all untrue claimants as they could not fullfil their aspirations so they have declared them untrue in retrospect.

The Christians are also waiting for the Second Advent or return of Jesus (whom they consider as God)

The Muslims believe that Jesus was only a true prophet of God who will descend from the sky a second time as a Muslim and he will destroy and kill all non-believers of the world, an extremist view.

So, simply by your saying that you are true Jesus and others are false will not solve the problem for the peoples.

Then there are other nations waiting of the return of heir religious leaders i.e. Hindus, Buddhists, Sikhs, Zoroastrians etc; waiting for their religious leaders to return and reform the world which is in a dilemma and seeking the right path.

The question is so important for the world.

If you are a busy person, kindly send me, if possible, e-mail addresses of ten such persons of a firm faith who believe that you are Jesus so that I can discuss this issue with them and arrive at an impartial criteria from the scriptures of all these nations so that we believe the true Jesus/Christ or reformer of the world religions.

The Jews have a long history of rebelling and sinning against God, and because of their disobedience and disrespect, selfish desires for deliverance from Roman oppression, instead of deliverance from sins, they denied my advent the first time I came to the earth. That being said, they are still awaiting their own concept of Messiah, instead of seeking and pleasing God to have the truth revealed to them. Those who have denied me, the first time I came to the earth, are condemned already and thus, their expectations will remain unfulfilled. God doesn't bow to the will and desires of men, but has created a plan to redeem mankind from their sins, and the Jews have denied this plan of salvation.

No, the Muslims believe that Mohammed was the only true prophet of God and that I was merely a holy man sent from God. They do not recognize my purpose or plan. They have no aspirations of my return, but believe that all should follow the words of Mohammed and all who refuse are unbelievers and should be destroyed.

Of course, just "saying" that I am the only begotten Son of the Father would not "solve" the problems for all peoples, but then again, I never said I would. But as I stated before, evidence for who I am is found in obedience to every word that I spoke in the gospels, as well as fulfilling the prophecies of my second advent, which I have completely fulfilled the first and have fulfilled numerous prophecies of the second advent, with the rest to be fulfilled shortly. I prophesied in my first coming that only a few would be saved and most would reject and deny me and be condemned, so all of those who do not believe in me, will continue to have problems until they are destroyed, because they are condemned, as stated in the prophecies for these end times.

Actually, the concept of a return of a "Messiah" for these other false religions is a modern concept, just recently added to their theologies, attempting to be a part of this great event. Buddhists don't even believe in God, and Hindus believe in numerous gods, so which one would they expect to return?

Well, clearly you are under some misconception that I must prove myself to you and the world. You also are under some false impression that I have returned for ALL peoples in all religions, for which the scriptures clearly state that I am not. If you knew the second coming prophecies, you would know that I am not here to prove myself to mankind, nor here to reform any other religion,  but here to JUDGE all mankind according to their faith in me and their obedience to my words from the first advent,  thus they must prove themselves to me, if they want redemption and salvation.  So, you like the rest, who do not yet believe in me, will then have to wait until I rise to be revealed to the world. Besides, there is NO impartial criteria to come to faith in me, there is the truth, righteousness, wisdom, prophecies, knowledge and scriptures that state clearly of my objective, purpose and events as planned from the beginning.  I am NOT here to satisfy mankind and their desires, but gather together those who have prepared for my return and whom truly serve God.

The greyish, steel-blue ocean and the matching sky above went on in all directions for miles and miles, only broken by the sudden chunks of ice that floated solemnly with the currents, only to drive away, to disappear and become a tiny, cold drop in the still rapidly growing oceans.  There was nothing but the ice, the skies, the winds and the grey, bottomless sea. It went on in all directions.

It was peaceful.

The dark, brown island stood up from the sea, looking as if someone had dropped a large pile of brown rocks there, only to forget all about it. It stood out, dark and lonely, as a mythological backdrop for a forgotten epic about ages long gone. The island smelled of salt, tare and creosote. The rocks that the entire island consisted of were about a big as a hand, all brown and all ice-cold.
At the top of the island, a few yellow straws managed to cling on tight to the hostile rocks, tenacious indeed, fighting a never ending war against frost, salt and winds. From there one could see the entire patch of land. It wouldn't take a man more than a day or two to walk around it, yet he wouldn't find anything but the never ending beach of rocks. He would suffer from madness after a month. The freezing winds would claim his toes after a couple of days. And even though it is said that Sisyphus was indeed a happy man, there would be nothing for him to rely upon on this last living place on earth. Because the last living place on earth was dying.
A man gets so lonely he gets sick, or so it is said, yet there are a handful that are able to stumble around on rocks, to be all alone, constantly freezing and bleeding from their fingernails and feet from sheer frost. There are kinds of madness or geniality that can keep a man going forever. And some men can survive on nothing but salt, rocks and freezing seas. I am such a man. Let me tell you a few things.

None of this nor the rest of the grimness on the front page today will matter a bit, though, if two men pursuing a lawsuit in federal court in Hawaii turn out to be right. They think a giant particle accelerator that will begin smashing protons together outside Geneva this summer might produce a black hole or something else that will spell the end of the Earth — and maybe the universe.

Scientists say that is very unlikely — though they have done some checking just to make sure.

The world’s physicists have spent 14 years and $8 billion building the Large Hadron Collider, in which the colliding protons will recreate energies and conditions last seen a trillionth of a second after the Big Bang. Researchers will sift the debris from these primordial recreations for clues to the nature of mass and new forces and symmetries of nature.

But Walter L. Wagner and Luis Sancho contend that scientists at the European Center for Nuclear Research, or CERN, have played down the chances that the collider could produce, among other horrors, a tiny black hole, which, they say, could eat the Earth. Or it could spit out something called a “strangelet” that would convert our planet to a shrunken dense dead lump of something called “strange matter.” Their suit also says CERN has failed to provide an environmental impact statement as required under the National Environmental Policy Act.

Although it sounds bizarre, the case touches on a serious issue that has bothered scholars and scientists in recent years — namely how to estimate the risk of new groundbreaking experiments and who gets to decide whether or not to go ahead.

The lawsuit, filed March 21 in Federal District Court, in Honolulu, seeks a temporary restraining order prohibiting CERN from proceeding with the accelerator until it has produced a safety report and an environmental assessment. It names the federal Department of Energy, the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory, the National Science Foundation and CERN as defendants.

According to a spokesman for the Justice Department, which is representing the Department of Energy, a scheduling meeting has been set for June 16.

Why should CERN, an organization of European nations based in Switzerland, even show up in a Hawaiian courtroom?

In an interview, Mr. Wagner said, “I don’t know if they’re going to show up.” CERN would have to voluntarily submit to the court’s jurisdiction, he said, adding that he and Mr. Sancho could have sued in France or Switzerland, but to save expenses they had added CERN to the docket here. He claimed that a restraining order on Fermilab and the Energy Department, which helps to supply and maintain the accelerator’s massive superconducting magnets, would shut down the project anyway.

James Gillies, head of communications at CERN, said the laboratory as of yet had no comment on the suit. “It’s hard to see how a district court in Hawaii has jurisdiction over an intergovernmental organization in Europe,” Mr. Gillies said.

“There is nothing new to suggest that the L.H.C. is unsafe,” he said, adding that its safety had been confirmed by two reports, with a third on the way, and would be the subject of a discussion during an open house at the lab on April 6.

“Scientifically, we’re not hiding away,” he said.

But Mr. Wagner is not mollified. “They’ve got a lot of propaganda saying it’s safe,” he said in an interview, “but basically it’s propaganda.”

In an e-mail message, Mr. Wagner called the CERN safety review “fundamentally flawed” and said it had been initiated too late. The review process violates the European Commission’s standards for adhering to the “Precautionary Principle,” he wrote, “and has not been done by ‘arms length’ scientists.”

Physicists in and out of CERN say a variety of studies, including an official CERN report in 2003, have concluded there is no problem. But just to be sure, last year the anonymous Safety Assessment Group was set up to do the review again.

“The possibility that a black hole eats up the Earth is too serious a threat to leave it as a matter of argument among crackpots,” said Michelangelo Mangano, a CERN theorist who said he was part of the group. The others prefer to remain anonymous, Mr. Mangano said, for various reasons. Their report was due in January.

This is not the first time around for Mr. Wagner. He filed similar suits in 1999 and 2000 to prevent the Brookhaven National Laboratory from operating the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider. That suit was dismissed in 2001. The collider, which smashes together gold ions in the hopes of creating what is called a “quark-gluon plasma,” has been operating without incident since 2000.

Mr. Wagner, who lives on the Big Island of Hawaii, studied physics and did cosmic ray research at the University of California, Berkeley, and received a doctorate in law from what is now known as the University of Northern California in Sacramento. He subsequently worked as a radiation safety officer for the Veterans Administration.

Mr. Sancho, who describes himself as an author and researcher on time theory, lives in Spain, probably in Barcelona, Mr. Wagner said.

Doomsday fears have a long, if not distinguished, pedigree in the history of physics. At Los Alamos before the first nuclear bomb was tested, Emil Konopinski was given the job of calculating whether or not the explosion would set the atmosphere on fire.

The Large Hadron Collider is designed to fire up protons to energies of seven trillion electron volts before banging them together. Nothing, indeed, will happen in the CERN collider that does not happen 100,000 times a day from cosmic rays in the atmosphere, said Nima Arkani-Hamed, a particle theorist at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton.

What is different, physicists admit, is that the fragments from cosmic rays will go shooting harmlessly through the Earth at nearly the speed of light, but anything created when the beams meet head-on in the collider will be born at rest relative to the laboratory and so will stick around and thus could create havoc.

The new worries are about black holes, which, according to some variants of string theory, could appear at the collider. That possibility, though a long shot, has been widely ballyhooed in many papers and popular articles in the last few years, but would they be dangerous?

According to a paper by the cosmologist Stephen Hawking in 1974, they would rapidly evaporate in a poof of radiation and elementary particles, and thus pose no threat. No one, though, has seen a black hole evaporate.

As a result, Mr. Wagner and Mr. Sancho contend in their complaint, black holes could really be stable, and a micro black hole created by the collider could grow, eventually swallowing the Earth.

But William Unruh, of the University of British Columbia, whose paper exploring the limits of Dr. Hawking’s radiation process was referenced on Mr. Wagner’s Web site, said they had missed his point. “Maybe physics really is so weird as to not have black holes evaporate,” he said. “But it would really, really have to be weird.”

Lisa Randall, a Harvard physicist whose work helped fuel the speculation about black holes at the collider, pointed out in a paper last year that black holes would probably not be produced at the collider after all, although other effects of so-called quantum gravity might appear.

As part of the safety assessment report, Dr. Mangano and Steve Giddings of the University of California, Santa Barbara, have been working intensely for the last few months on a paper exploring all the possibilities of these fearsome black holes. They think there are no problems but are reluctant to talk about their findings until they have been peer reviewed, Dr. Mangano said.

Dr. Arkani-Hamed said concerning worries about the death of the Earth or universe, “Neither has any merit.” He pointed out that because of the dice-throwing nature of quantum physics, there was some probability of almost anything happening. There is some minuscule probability, he said, “the Large Hadron Collider might make dragons that might eat us up.”

Yesterday, we were reminded that as we celebrate our Lord's ascension into heaven, we have opportunity to focus on the comforting truth of Christ's rule at the Father's right hand. We were reminded how Christ rules all things for us even when we have to bear a heavy and painful cross in this life.

On this, the Festival of the Ascension of Our Lord, we are reminded of two more reasons to celebrate Ascension--Christ's promise to be with us to the very end of the age and his promise to return on the Last Day just as he departed, which motivates us with urgency to go out as his Gospel witnesses to the ends of the earth.

As you celebrate our Lord's ascension today, here is a selection on those very reasons from Prof. John P. Meyer's discussion of Augsburg Confession, Article III in his Studies in the Augsburg Confession. [By the way, for those unfamiliar with this book, these selections were originally part of a series of articles from 1940-1946 in The Northwestern Lutheran (now known as Forward in Christ), the Wisconsin Synod's magazine for laypeople. The articles were put into book form for use in the Augsburg Confession course at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary. It is a relatively easy read with bottomless theological depth!]

The same Christ shall openly come again.

When Jesus ascended into heaven before the eyes of his disciples, after a cloud had hidden him from view, they stood there as though rooted to the spot, wistfully looking after him. They realized that they had seen him with their mortal eyes for the last time, and their hearts were overwhelmed by the thought.

Then there stood with them two men dressed in white who said unto them, "Men of Galilee...why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven" (Ac 1:11).

This same Jesus--and not another. This same Jesus--in whose person two natures, the one truly divine and the other truly human, are wonderfully and inseparably conjoined. This same Jesus--with the same heart still flowing over with his rich love toward poor sinners. This same Jesus--still engaged in the same work of redemption.

There are different phases in his work. The first required his personal presence here on earth in the state of humiliation. He had something both to do and to teach (Ac 1:1). He had to suffer and die in our stead as the Lamb of God most holy, and he had to proclaim that now the kingdom of God is at hand.

The second phase of his redemptive work is now in progress while he in the state of exaltation is sitting at the right hand of the Father, reigning over all creatures and sending forth his Holy Spirit. During this second phase he is still on earth, though not in visible form. He gave his promise, "Surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age" (Mt 28:20).

For the duration of this second phase, he has conferred the great honor on us that he appointed us as God's fellow workers (2 Co 6:1). We are helpers of Jesus Christ in his great work of saving the world! Who is equal to such a task? (2 Co 2:16). The Holy Spirit is inseparably united with the word of the gospel. Where the gospel is, there is also the Holy Spirit; but where the gospel is not preached, no Holy Spirit will be poured out. Jesus committed the gospel to us. He commanded us to preach it to all creation (Mk 16:15). We are to proclaim it not by word of mouth only; we are to be living monuments to its saving power also by our holy living, being not conformed to the pattern of this world but being transformed by the renewing of our mind (Ro 12:2). Yes, he has even deigned to elevate our suffering to be an effective factor in his kingdom and assures us that it is a gift from him not only to believe on him but also to suffer for him. (Php 1:29).

The end of the second phase will be reached, and the third phase will be upon us when the same Christ shall come again to judge the quick and the dead.... Today we wish to ponder a little more on the reaction Christ expects to produce in us by announcing the coming of the third phase.

Christ's return for judgment marks the end of time, the end of the present world. Then also all gospel preaching will come to an end. Whoever has not heard the gospel by then will never hear it throughout eternity.

We know how earnestly Christ desires to have all men saved. He willingly died on the cross to save them. Should not this same mind be also in us? As Christ was actuated throughout his state of humiliation by that one urge, to save sinners, should not we also? What is the value of all earthly possessions when compared with a soul's salvation? What is the importance of one's personal comfort beside the eternal fate of a soul? What, though we suffer much and must even lay down our life, if through our sacrifice a soul can be brought to heaven? If the love which moved Christ moves us only a little, we shall feel ashamed to attach our hearts to the things of this earth in even the slightest degree; we shall gladly sacrifice all in the interest of gospel work.

Nor shall we waste any time. We know that Christ will return and put an end to our work. But we do not know when he will return. He did not know it himself, and he did not lose any time brooding over the question. He left it entirely to his Father. But he faithfully went about his Father's business. He conscientiously redeemed every minute of his time. He worked while it was day, before the night came, when no one can work (Jn 9:4). Should not we do likewise?

And we remember that through our service Jesus would send his Holy Spirit into the world to sanctify men. The gospel is the vessel which contains the Holy Spirit. Should we then not be very careful in handling the gospel? We bear in mind, it is not the force of human knowledge and understanding (and of having a sevenfold Ph.D) through which the Spirit comes--nor is it human art and oratory, nor is it numbers, nor organizations. It is the gospel, the gospel alone, the gospel in all its simplicity, that conveys the Holy Spirit. Must we then not bend every effort to present the gospel in its fullness and in its purity to the world, just as Jesus entrusted it to us?

"Why do you stand here looking into the sky?" the angels said. This same Jesus shall come again. Let us then get busy with the strength the Lord has given us, and under his gracious protection let us preach the gospel to every creature so that on his return he may be pleased with the harvest of saved souls.

I never found anyone who listened to Missouri's lousy governor (no)Talent's press conference on his decision not to run again for governor. I didn't start watching it on TV until it had been on for about 10 minutes. And the questions weren't audible, just his answers. He looked either under the influence or, or like he had already been into the ChoolAid. (ChoolAid because the stuff they had a Jonestown massacre shouldn't be confused with the tasty kid's drink/dye stuff. And the kid's drink manufacturer shouldn't be offended that some of us use it to dye yarn and my neighbor's son used it to dye his hair when he was 12.) Maybe several glasses before the press conference. Governor Talent giggled before, during and after each answer. Would of been cute if he were a three year old girl, giggling so much. I watched for almost a half hour, but all he would do is giggle and claim he achieved what he set out to and there was no reason for him to run for a second term. And he has achieved in making Missouri a 4th world country. Go GOP! Bizarre. I am in some quarters getting a bit paranoid. But it was just a little to close to the "we have to destroy everything so we can have rapture" rattle that I have been hearing spew from Dobbs, Hagee and the other end of time cults. Okay, now that's out of my brain. Strange, "okay" wasn't in the site's dictionary.

Fard Muhammad to his student, Elijah Muhammad, referred to and titled, The Supreme Wisdom the Nation of Islam continues to teach its followers that the present world society is segmented into three distinct categories. They teach that from a general perspective, 85% of the world’s people of all races and faiths are the deaf, dumb and blind masses of the people who are easily led in the wrong direction and hard to lead in the right direction. These 85% of the masses are said to be manipulated by 10% of the people who are referred to as the rich slave-makers of the masses of the people. Those 10% rich slave-makers are said to manipulate the 85% masses of the people through ignorance, the skillful use of religious doctrine and the mass media.

The third group referred to as the 5% poor righteous teachers of the people of the world who know the truth of the manipulation of the 85% masses of the people by the 10% and that 5% righteous teachers are at constant struggle and war with 10% to reach and free the minds of the masses of the people.

The Nation asserts the ending of the West began in the 1930s with Muhammad’s coming. Whites were granted an extension, however, and have thus maintained their rule.

Ultimately all the times, dates and prophesies of these movements demonstrate the coming of the same thing, respectfully, the same time.

“It is the blessing and gift of God to live in the era when imperfection is being rooted from the earth,” Baal said.
