News has started to creep out about the massively anticipated sequel to one of the best PC games ever, with Deus Ex 3 now confirmed as a prequel to the first and monstrously significant game.

Originally created by Warren Spector's Ion Storm team, the widely acclaimed first game told the tale of technologically augmented secret agent JC Denton as he unravelled a conspiracy that reached through the highest levels of world government.Negative reaction to the second game however means that many are watching Deus Ex 3 closely in case it falls into the same trap - especially since Warren Spector and his original team have no connection to the project which is now being developed at Eidos Montreal.

Details on the third game in the series are still a little sketchy, but PC Zone has managed to get the scoop on a few things and we know that the game will definitely be a prequel to the original Deus Ex.

The game will apparently be set in 2027 and players will be cast as Adam Jensen, a security guard at a lab specialising in the first generation of bio-tech augs. Adam's life is thrown into chaos though when a black-ops team slaughters everyone in the lab using a last resort containment plan that you actually designed.

Eidos Montreal have promised to stay close to the ethic of the original game too, offering plenty of different routes for players as well as the ability to customise weapons with scopes, silencers and mods. The stealth system is also being completely updated to rely on a cover-based system and not a shadow-based system; you're no longer 100 percent invisible if you're standing in the shade.

Eidos has confirmed there will be at least twenty augmentations in the game too, ranging from the ability to punch through walls and grab enemies on the other side to a Doctor Octopus-like ability to grow tentacles from your spine to help you climb up and down buildings.

Controversially however, Deus Ex 3 is going to adopt a recharging health-system similar to that seen in Call of Duty. Let us know whether you think that's a good or bad thing in the forums.

Nice

Our friends from Ripten.com have gotten their hands on a new trailer from Halo Wars.

It’s funny, as the trailer can’t be stopped or replayed, and in order to view it again you’ll have to reload the page. Still, the trailer looks nice, and if what they're showing is actual gameplay footage - then we're really in for a treat. You can view this trailer here.

Gametrailers.com have another new Halo trailer out, titled World Exclusive Field Trip to Harvest Trailer, which is longer and of higher quality and you can view it here.

Four Twenty-something year olds packed their backpacks and started their way to Silang, Cavite last

Four Twenty-something year olds packed their backpacks and started their way to Silang, Cavite last September 8, 2008.

Here’s a sneak peek of how our respite from reality went:

Part 1: From the City to out of the City
7:30 a.m. – Kriska, Jay-r and Me met up at Kamuning Rd
8:00 a.m. – We arrived at Metro Point Mall, Pasay to meet with Roxanne. She arrived some 30 minutes later.
8:40 a.m. – We started walking to the Bus station…
9:00 a.m. – We were still walking to the Bus station…
9:30 a.m. – Upon seeing The Heritage Hotel, Jay-r knew something was wrong. It was either the station moved or we went to the wrong direction. Lou-Ann (temperatures and temper rising…) hailed a cab and decided to go back where we started

We were able to get to Tagaytay City Crossing by 11:00 a.m. Roxanne stopped for a short bio break at the Philippines’ Happiest Bee while Lou-Ann was twisting the arms of the Trike Drivers. A few minutes later we boarded the tricycle and traversed the National Highway to Silang.

Part 2: The yuppies getting lost. Again.
Jay-r: There goes Ming’s Garden
Lou-Ann: Well it says here that its after that. Manong do you know where (she shouts in the air to the driver who then says it’s the other way)
Kriska: Wait, let me call her (dials her phone) I can’t hear if its ringing.
Roxanne: Where is it?
Lou-Ann: Manong, can you pull over? Lets regroup and think

(…after 10 minutes of texting and gesturing directions, they all boarded the tricycle. They went down a steep decline at the right side of the road. They went straight…straight…straight…yes that’s how many straights there are. Then when one of them couldn’t contain the feeling of being lost, pulled out her phone and called the owner. The owner said they weren’t really that far. After a few more straights, they arrived)

Part 3: Haggling after the arduous journey
Lou-Ann: How much is the fare?
Manong: 200
Roxanne: What!? 200!?
Manong: It was far, we took many stops and turns.
Kriska: You mean 200 from each of us?
Manong; (evil twinkle in his eyes)
Kriska: C’mon lets split this
Roxanne: Manong I have a proposition. We pay you 150 now then you take us back to the City for some marketing then you take us back here all for 400!
Manong: (thinking this girl must be insane) that can’t be. If you want 2 trips additional, that would be 200 for each trip
Jay-r: Lets just pay him for this journey. Let’s think of other trips later.

Part 4: Casa Teresa

Once inside…

(In Chorus) oooh…wow! Nice! This is so cool. Pretty! Cheska and Rachel will be sorry they missed this!
(more steps upstairs were heard) Lookee here!
The place is perfect!

Part 5: Silang Public Market - Shake mo TV mo

Things to buy

- Barbeque Sticks - Matches
- Uling - Ampalaya
- Sugar - Ketchup
- Milo - Chicken
- Meat - Milo
- Rice - Viand from the carinderia
- and Roxanne’s special request: Puto

We boarded the Tricycle for one bumpy ride to the market. The new manong (friendlier and more helpful one) gave us directions how we were supposed to go back. We went inside the wet market and were able to find this fabulous mini grocery where we bought 90% of the things we needed. After that we went around the meat section and bought chicken and meat for the barbeque. Roxanne was insistent about the puto so she practically asked every stall for it.

On our way to the carinderia, a troop of men (one with a camera and the other with a microphone) blocked us and asked for an insane request

Guy 1: Ate, Kuya we are from the rebranded ABC 5. Our relaunch will be tonight. We’d need people who we can film saying the new catch phrase
Lou-Ann: (more than happy to oblige. This could be her 5 seconds to fame) Cool! To say what?
Guy 2: This (opens the manila paper), SHAKE MO, TV MO
Jay-r: Okay! C’mon Kriska and Roxanne.
Roxanne / Kriska: Nooo! (They were pretty busy trying to hide behind whatever)
Lou-Ann: C’mon this would be fun!
Roxanne / Kriska: Nooo! (still the same efforts)
Guy 1: Okay, this is how you do it (explains how the entire filming would go. After a few seconds…) Ready?

Jay-r and Lou-Ann were quite happy with their first TV appearance as a couple. Roxanne and Kriska were just happy they never got a part of it.

Part 6: The Dinner and the cat who stole it

Menu:
Barbeque ala Fons
Egg Salad ala Kiki
Roxanne’s Pineapple
Lou-Ann’s Rice

Cast:
The four of us
Kuya (the caretaker’s brother in law)
Wiswis (and her kittens)

Scene 1:
The four of us took turns in setting up the outdoor dinner. One went inside, the others had their backs on the food when suddenly…we saw that Muning got a hold of 1 barbeque stick! (we set aside 3 – based on Lou-Ann’s advise of possible rabies contamination. But Jay-r eventually ate it.)

Scene 2:
We just had our fill. Everything tasted really good. We were sharing our stories when Kuya suddenly appeared from nowhere (how in the world did he get in? New Resulotion: Lock all doors). Kuya joined in the banter. Seeing that he wouldn’t leave, one after the after stopped talking. Kuya got the hint.

Part 7: The morning after

A few days prior to the trip, Lou-Ann told Roxanne and Kriska that since it was going to fall on a Sunday, they should have a short devotion because they couldn’t go to church. The two of them agreed. So on Sunday morning after breakfast, the four of them gathered at the living room. Jay-r lead the devotion.

Highlights:
- Jay-r sharing about God
- Kuya trying to barge in the house

Part 8: Homeward Bound

Everybody wants to be known. The advent of online communities made it possible for people to introduce themselves all around the planet. A guy from India may have best buddies in England while Japanese girls could have cliques from the land down under. People who are unknown then are quickly becoming popular because of today’s technology.

There are also reality shows promoting man’s pursuit to be identified. People would do crazy things just to be noticed, and we are doing it today on national TV. It’s like everyone wants to be noticed. We all want to be recognized. One’s identity becomes dependent on how one is identified. Why is this so? Do we have that deep need to become known that our tendency is to gather as much attention as possible? Is this just the present tend that everyone is following at the moment?

I think it is safe to say that all of us want to be known in some degree or another. Not everyone would be as famous as Brad Pitt or as popularly searched in the web as Britney Spears. But can we really achieve such longing? In this global society we are now in, can we really stand out amidst all the others who want to do the same? As I write this blog, I too may have that hidden desire for my voice to be heard, for my thoughts to be considered, for name to be acknowledged.

However I recall an individual who willingly lowered himself from his public distinction in order for another person to emerge from anonymity. He clearly stated that he must decrease so that this unknown man could increase. What could have driven him to do such a thing at the expense of his own recognition? Yet to this very day, the man who did this is quite famous and his name is always ascribed to the one whom he had willingly supported to become above him. The man was John son of Zechariah also known that time as “The Baptizer.”

Because of his life, we now know the most famous individual that had ever lived on this planet. I guess the way up is always down. Rather than wasting one’s time getting attention from as much people as possible, why not devote it in making the most famous man become known even more. By the way, the person I am referring to is none other than Jesus Christ and I would like you to know Him…

September was the start of the monthly gathering of yuppies and bums alike.

"Bowling... makes the people... come together ... (YEAH!)
Bowling... makes the bourgeoisie (ABY)... and the rebel (PAO)..." - Madonna

The event was to be held (initially) @ SM Megamall's Bowling Center as Josiah had inquired two days prior to the gathering. We were expecting 10 free lanes that night even though a scheduled bowling event was expected.

Much to our surprise, all the lanes were filled up and we had to find an alternative. So we took it upon ourselves to rush to the nearest bowling alley and pray that we would find available lanes.

Guided by the star of Senator Villar's Mall, we were led to our "manger" (sans the farm animals) and was able to find the place we are to hold this event that would be remembered in the pages of history.

The group was divided into four teams. They are as follows:

[…] "The city is meant to be communicative, interactiv, self-critical, and ultimately self-forming, or self-scaping. It is a city that changes in time. Continously. A city that engages with individuals as a possible collective. A city that wants to manoeuvre between these possibilities. But now, as a next step, the question is how to model this Evolutionary City?" Winy Maas, MVRDV/DS, Spacefighter Introduction 2006»

So tonight was our 4th young adult coffeehouse at Calvary Lighthouse. We had a great band come out and perform, Seventh from Adam. They were really awesome and talented. You should check them out on MySpace or their website. We also had two comedians perform, Justin Hall and Mollie Sperduto. They were real funny and this was the first time we had comedians at our coffeehouse. PRAISE GOD - we had the biggest turn out yet - 59 people came out tonight to Emerge. We were so excited, and we are looking forward to the next one on August 22nd. To keep up to date on all the happenings at Emerge Coffeehouse, and for future musical and comedic acts, check out our website at www.emergecoffeehouse.com!

This week has been pretty much a duplicate of last, with me spending most of my time at Calvary working on the new FUEL house. PRAISE GOD - the pastors of our church have decided to put a 20 foot addition onto the building. This will increase our sanctuary size to fit approximately 150 people. GOD IS SOO GOOD! Keep checking back for future updates on the FUEL house.

Check in this weekend because I will update this site extensively with a new post and pages. I will add an opinion-type page for issues that I need to "vent" on - LOL!

As always, keep adding comments and feedback! It it so encouraging and wanted!

Watching my daughter grow into a young woman has been quite a process. As she has gotten taller the delight on her face has been matched only by the triumph in her voice. "I'm almost as tall as you, Mom! I come up to your shoulder!" Fast forward six months and she reached my nose. At her most recent doctor visit for her school physical she stood at 5'4" - just two and one-half inches shorter. How she beamed and strutted! Last night as she stood washing dishes at the kitchen sink, I had to ask what she was standing on. Turns out she was flat on the floor!! I can't believe that it was only a few years ago my Dad hoisted her onto that same counter so she could eat a popsicle, and even then her head didn't touch the cabinets. Incredible - how did it happen so quickly?

Yet that is not all that has changed. Besides the physical growth, somehow there has been a subtle transformation from the child to the young woman. No longer do I look outside to see her playing in the mud, hunting bugs and lizards. Barney? That's kid stuff. Blue's Clues? C'mon, mom, I'm not a kid anymore. Crocodile Hunter? No, thanks. She'd rather watch Darcy's Wild Life or So You Think You Can Dance. She wants her hair straightened and "chunked" with color. Her fingernails remain clean and are growing. The best surprise she received was a manicure kit from Bath and Body Works. Her personal tastes are starting to emerge. I wanted to buy her a new bed to replace the squeaky day bed she's been using for the last several years. My idea - a captain's bed with storage space underneath. Her idea - romantic, antique cream-colored twin bed with silver accents and frills. Never in a million years did I believe this would happen to my little tomboy.

At her age, I was babysitting for toddlers and my own siblings. I was a latchkey kid, free to roam the army base we lived on, as long as I came in when the streetlights came on. Yet in this day I hesitate to leave her alone even while I run to the local Publix just two miles from the house. I cannot imagine letting my dear girl walk the half mile to the stop sign on our road unless she takes at least two of the dogs. It makes me wonder about the thought processes my own mother went through. I do know that she often expressed some exasperation over my antics and attitude. "I hope you have ___ children just like you!" she would say. The number would depend on my age and the level of irritation she felt. Thank God that wish was never fulfilled!

As I changed, my relationship with my mother changed, and I see that process beginning now. Cooking lessons have started in earnest and heart to heart talks about girl issues occur while cooling off in the pool. It is really nice to see her blossoming and developing into her own person. Another violet to savor.

Well two things that have finally happened.

First is that I'm moving out on my own by myself not rooming with anyone like my last epic adventure with Aprilly the Pirate Hooker (I'm not being mean I swear, ask her!!). I'm moving into an old department store known as the Montgomery Fair, then as I was told was a Gayfers (remember those stores?) and then for I don't know how long it was an old empty building. Well in the past year they've been renovating this building and getting them ready to be converted into lofts. Well they're almost done to where I can move in. I hope to move in within a week of this posting. Anyone wanna help? The Lofts at Montgomery Fair or Montgomery Fair Lofts (I'm not sure which is official) is being maintained by Foshee Managment.

Here is a lovely (aka crappy picture) shot of my loft on one side:

And here is a video (I had to upload video to myspace cause youtube didn't convert to well, if you don't have a myspace then you can still watch it, so watch it and make fun of me).

The Second thing thats finally happened is that I have a full website now, www.guyeatsoctopus.com. It's done, but with ongoing improvements. If you have any comments/suggestions/critiques about it on how I might improve it or if it just blows, tell me! I like comments good or bad, helps me out.

This past few days did suck for me though. Tuesday night I left work after working on my site around 10pm'sh and went to Wendy's on Madison Ave (next to the BK) and got a "chicken" nugget combo (nuggets, fries, drink). Well the nuggets were bland, watery and just not that great. Tasted as thought they were dropped in the grease for not the ful amount. Now the fries were just horrible, tasted almost as if they were once really greasy, greasy hardened into a gelatin state and then were warmed up again. Tasted like shit! Hands down worst meal ever from Wendy's. I used to go there all the time (not to that location) and get food and it was good. Well next day I woke up feeling like absolute hell and didn't go to work. Was still feeling crappy yesterday (thursday), when I breathed in my chest was hurting. I went to work and then it was getting worse so I went to the Doc-In-A-Box. I was there forever! I need a doctor! They gave me meds for my stomach (to use when I needed for nausea and cramping) and I ended up just taking some Tums and as the night went on I felt better.

EMERGE. Last night was also my second EMERGE event I went to. It took place at my new home, The Lofts at Montgomery Fair. I had a good time, it was a bit warm though in the main hall, warm and muggy. Met some new people and saw some friends. Thats where I was able to take the pictures and video was when I went to this event. Should check out and join EMERGE if you're in the Central Alabama area.

Well thats it for now, updates to come once I get moved in and take some pix of my new place when I'm settled!!

Or IPA to its friends...

I've just been listening to Linda Creanor's Keynote from the recent Emerge online conference (23-25 June 2008). Linda was talking about the JISC funded LEX project and I think that the methodology (IPA) that she describes might be just what I am looking for to generate that elusive user input for PERSoNA.

As its fundamental starting point IPA adopts an experiential (phenomenological) focus (the participant as expert) upon which the researcher imposes their own interpretive process.

The principles of IPA are that it is an inductive approach (bottom up rather than top down); that it does not test hypotheses and a priori assumptions are avoided; it provides opportunities for participants to tell their own stories, in their own words, and in as much detail as possible; it aims to capture and explore the meanings that participants assign to their experiences.

A successful analysis is:

Interpretive (and thus subjective) so the results are not given the status of facts

Transparent (grounded in example from the data)

Plausible (to participants, co-analysts and general readers)

“I see a generation…Rising up to take their place…with selfless faith.”
Thes

"I see a generation...Rising up to take their place...with selfless faith."

These lyrics are from the song Hosanna by Hillsong United. Last night, we had our first Emerge worship service at Calvary. Emerge is an up and coming young adult ministry at Calvary Lighthouse in Lakewood, NJ. What makes this ministry unique is that so often, young adults (18 to 30 somethings) are often over-looked by the church. Teens graduate high school, go to college, and feel alone. Often, there is nothing geared towards them in the church. Many of them, even those who were raised in the church, will leave because they feel alone. In a time where many life questions need to be answered, many young adults are searching for encouragement, answers, truth.

A close friend of our church, Darren LeBlanc, from Shrewsbury came and led worship last night. With about 20 people in attendance, it was an awesome time of entering God's throne room. He brought his band with him, which was amazing.

Timm and Megan Ziegler shared last night. Megan leads our young adult group and Timm leads our youth ministry. Such a wonderful couple who really have a heart for this generation. I appreciate them more than they possibly know.

Emerge is not specifically for the young adults at Calvary Lighthouse. I invite you to come out and check out our coffeehouses on the 2nd and 4th Friday's of the month. We have local artists and comedians who come in for entertainment, refreshments and coffee all night, $5 cover charge. It is an amazing time to get to know others in your generation. Others who may be going through the same things that you are!

I think we’re meant to laugh at Fisherspooner. The thing is, there’s a touch of the thrilling about ‘Emerge’, tinky-tonky synths and headlong bounce-around looking for a tune notwithstanding. It sounds like it might be wincingly cutting edge while looking fantastically naff at the same time, and – hey – that’s something we all aspire to, right?

Anyway, they burned brightly for a picosecond then suddenly everyone – yes, even the NME – realised they didn’t care a stuff about them after all. Casey Spooner changed his image with the weather, but all to no avail; the world decided that speed-freak Human League cast-offs were no longer the thing. Electroclash, we called it. Or they called it. Someone called it. Now it’s bleedin’ everywhere, only without a name. That ‘80s revival happened long after we gave up trying.

Junior did a spacey sway to the chopstick synths and lost interest by the time the vocal crept in. Satire? It’s in the rudest of health.

I'm gonna walkthrough the process of installing gentoo on other destro.

It requires, patients, little bit knowledge about Linux.

Prepare a partition for Gentoo

Make a separate partition for gentoo, you can do partition with gnu parted.

$ sudo parted

Lets say you have following partition table before you install gentoo,

(parted) p

Disk /dev/sda: 80.0GB
Sector size (logical/physical): 512B/512B
Partition Table: gpt

Number Start End Size File system Name Flags
1 20.5kB 210MB 210MB fat32 EFI system partition boot
2 2048MB 57.0GB 55.0GB hfs+ Customer
3 67.4GB 67.9GB 500MB linux-swap
4 67.9GB 80.0GB 12.1GB ext3

use print free to print free space also,

(parted) print free

Disk /dev/sda: 80.0GB
Sector size (logical/physical): 512B/512B
Partition Table: gpt

Number Start End Size File system Name Flags
17.4kB 20.5kB 3.07kB Free Space
1 20.5kB 210MB 210MB fat32 EFI system partition boot
210MB 2048MB 1838MB Free Space
2 2048MB 57.0GB 55.0GB hfs+ Customer
57.0GB 67.4GB 10.4GB Free Space
3 67.4GB 67.9GB 500MB linux-swap
4 67.9GB 80.0GB 12.1GB ext3
80.0GB 80.0GB 950kB Free Space

In the my partition table you can observe that i have 10.4GB Free Space starting from 57.0GB to 67.GB.
(parted) mkpart gentoo 57.0GB 67.4GB

Where, gentoo is just a parition name, followed by start location and end location of the new partition.

Now, again have a look at new parition table here,

(parted) p

Disk /dev/sda: 80.0GB
Sector size (logical/physical): 512B/512B
Partition Table: gpt

Number Start End Size File system Name Flags
1 20.5kB 210MB 210MB fat32 EFI system partition boot
2 2048MB 57.0GB 55.0GB hfs+ Customer
5 57.0GB 67.4GB 10.4GB gentoo
3 67.4GB 67.9GB 500MB linux-swap
4 67.9GB 80.0GB 12.1GB ext3

heh, gentoo parition is set.

Now make a file system (ext3),

$ sudo mke2fs -j /dev/sda5
mke2fs 1.40.8 (13-Mar-2008)
Filesystem label=
OS type: Linux
Block size=4096 (log=2)
Fragment size=4096 (log=2)
636480 inodes, 2536261 blocks
126813 blocks (5.00%) reserved for the super user
First data block=0
Maximum filesystem blocks=2600468480
78 block groups
32768 blocks per group, 32768 fragments per group
8160 inodes per group
Superblock backups stored on blocks:
32768, 98304, 163840, 229376, 294912, 819200, 884736, 1605632

Writing inode tables: done
Creating journal (32768 blocks): done
Writing superblocks and filesystem accounting information: done

This filesystem will be automatically checked every 35 mounts or
180 days, whichever comes first. Use tune2fs -c or -i to override.

Lets, check with parted if the file system is successfully created.

$ sudo parted
GNU Parted 1.7.1
Using /dev/sda
Welcome to GNU Parted! Type 'help' to view a list of commands.
(parted) p

Disk /dev/sda: 80.0GB
Sector size (logical/physical): 512B/512B
Partition Table: gpt

Number Start End Size File system Name Flags
1 20.5kB 210MB 210MB fat32 EFI system partition boot
2 2048MB 57.0GB 55.0GB hfs+ Customer
5 57.0GB 67.4GB 10.4GB ext3 gentoo
3 67.4GB 67.9GB 500MB linux-swap
4 67.9GB 80.0GB 12.1GB ext3

All set go, my gentoo parition is ready. By the way, you can use Ubuntu's Swap parition for the same.

Mount the new gentoo parition,

$ sudo mkdir /mnt/gentoo

$ sudo mount /dev/sda5 /mnt/gentoo

Get Gentoo Stage3 tarball : Using a Stage from the Internet

$ cd /mnt/gentoo

You can get Stage3 tarball from here

http://www.gentoo.org/main/en/mirrors.xml

Select nearest server from you. I feel Netherlands is nearest to India. So, i got from here http://mirror.muntinternet.net/pub/gentoo/releases/x86/2008.0_beta2/stages/ (i strongly recommend you not to use this link, get the latest release Stage3 tarball)
Directory structure for Stage3 tarball : releases > x86 > latest_version (Ex: 2008.0_beta2) > stages > Download file which has this format - stage3-x86-GENTOO_VERSION.tar.bz2 (Ex: stage3-x86-2008.0_beta2.tar.bz2)

Here is the Direct link : http://mirror.muntinternet.net/pub/gentoo/releases/x86/2008.0_beta2/stages/stage3-x86-2008.0_beta2.tar.bz2 ( as i said it is always recommended you not to use this link, get the latest version of stage3 tarball ).

Make sure, you download stage3 tarball to /mnt/gentoo directory. Then extract tarball,

# tar xvjpf stage3-*.tar.bz2

It'll take a few seconds to extract. Read the tar manual page for tar options, Make sure you don't miss any options from above.

Gentoo Portage

Also download gentoo portage snapshot from the mirrors,You can find it in the snapshot folder (http://mirror.muntinternet.net/pub/gentoo/snapshots/)

Download portage-latest.tar.bz2 file to /mnt/gentoo.

Extract the Portage to /mnt/gentoo/usr ,

tar xvjf /mnt/gentoo/portage-latest.tar.bz2 -C /mnt/gentoo/usr

make.conf

Set CFLAGS, CXXFLAGS

CFLAGS="-O2 -march=nocona -pipe"
CXXFLAGS="${CFLAGS}"

also add these lines to make.conf
MAKEOPTS="-j3"

VIDEO_CARDS="i810 vesa"

INPUT_DEVICES="keyboard mouse synaptics evdev"

Chrooting

Before Chrooting into gentoo,
Copy DNS info
# cp -L /etc/resolv.conf /mnt/gentoo/etc/

Mount proc
# mount -t proc none /mnt/gentoo/proc

Mount All Devices to gentoo
# mount -o bind /dev /mnt/gentoo/dev

Also, add these lines to make.conf file

GENTOO_MIRRORS="http://gentoo.cites.uiuc.edu/pub/gentoo/ \
                http://gentoo.osuosl.org/ \
                http://gentoo.chem.wisc.edu/gentoo/"
SYNC="rsync://rsync.gentoo.org/gentoo-portage"

Now enter into the new (Gentoo) Environment.

# chroot /mnt/gentoo /bin/bash
# env-update
>> Regenerating /etc/ld.so.cache...
# source /etc/profile
# export PS1="(chroot) $PS1"

Update the portage tree...
# emerge --sync

emerge gentoo-source

Apply mactel patches to the kernel, if you are using MacBook.

And the rest of the things are similar.

Interestingly, this was filed in launchpad as bug.

--

the animal produced by "apt-get moo" doesnt really look like a cow:

gentoos cow looks much better:

perhaps we could adopt mouth:

I think this does not give up much of Debians identity, while looking much better. :D

--

Being a fan of Gentoo and its derivatives, this adds to proof that Gentoo rules! :)
