Quando leggo che White (presidente UFC) rilascia una dichiarazione mi aspetto sempre qualcosa di esagerato e di fuori luogo e in un certo senso non mi delude mai.

Although, the two are not blood related, and were not even introduced until their teens, the anger runs deep between them, with them seperating ties after a dissagreement between training philosophies and the future of Frank's career.

To be honest, this is one fight, I can't imagine anyone would want to see, despite as EliteXC puts it, the classic "Cain vs. Abel" scenario. Look for this yawner sometime next year.

Mad props to Dave in Manchester NH for throwing his cash on Pertuzelli on my advice.  I don’t know what’s worse, this fight or the horrible announcers.  I’m pretty happy Kimbo got dropped cuz he acts way to hard for someone thats totally unproven in MMA.  His entourage is silly, his past fights are pathetic and I’m totally sick of him.  He didn’t even tap gloves with Petruzelli at the beginning.  It must really suck being the King at barekuckle backyard fights and getting to the big leagues and looking like a loser.

Pero el fin de semana todo se fue al carajo. De repente un tropezón inesperado hizo que Kimbo Slice perdiera su mito en menos de 14 segundos. Ese fue el tiempo que un hasta entonces desconocido Seth Petruzelli (que disputaba el combate gracias a la lesión horas antes del que tenía que ser el rival) tardó en tumbarle y en hacerse famoso. Con él, Internet ha enloquecido. En You Tube no paran de pinchar su proeza. Además, a través de la red, están circulando unas fotos con Petrizelli en pose muy muy gay. Dopo le dichiarazioni di Seth Petruzelli e Ken Shamrock che hanno dichiarato che gli era stato esplicitamente richiesto di non impostare il match a terra per non danneggiare Kimbo Slice, tutto il mondo MMA, dai tifosi ai media considerato anche l'interesse che ruotava intorno all'evento hanno chiesto a gran voce chiarezza.  La Florida State Boxing Commission non si e' fatta attendere ed ha aperto ufficilamente le indagini preliminari per scoprire se effettivamente e' avvenuta una "frode sportiva".

Lo ha confermato Alexis Antonacci responsabile stampa del Department of Business and Professional Regulation: "Abbiamo creduto che fosse il modo migliore di agire anche se ancora non abbiamo elementi concreti"   ha dichiarato Alexis Antonacci "Ma dato l'interesse in materia, abbiamo pensato che l'unico modo per sapere la verita' fosse aprire un'inchiesta cosa che abbiamo appena fatto"

"Procederemo in un modo molto convenzionale cercheremo di indagare sui fatti , ascolteremo tutti i possibili testimoni e addetti ai lavori, soprattutto questo chiederemo a tutti la versione di quello che e' successo".

The one notable event worth mentioning was the meltdown of Jason Guida, brother of Clay Guida. After watching Jason fail to make wait and never getting his opportunity to fight to get into the house for the Ultimate Fighter this summer, this fight would be his redemption. However, he was dominated for the majority of the fight. At one point, he lost his mouthpiece at a crucial time in the fight. Referee stopped the fight and a several minute search was conducted for it. They tried to give him a new mouthpiece and he swatted it away from the ref. Ref threatened to DQ him, but the original mouthpiece was found at the same time, washed off and the fight resumed. Guida was then pounded on and was up against the cage with his hands up, but not doing anything defensive. His opponent just continued to tee off on him, not necessarily connecting with everything, but again, Guida did nothing and the ref finally stepped in. Guida then shoved the ref, so I'm not so sure we'll see Guida again in EliteXC.

Florida To Investigate Kimbo Fight

Michael Wilbon (the gentleman to your right) has come out and called Kimbo Slice a fraud and the event fixed, on Pardon The Interruption yesterday afternoon.

"That was a more phantom punch than Ali had to knock out Liston in that fight in 1965," Wilbon said of Petruzelli knocking Kimbo to the canvas. "Kimbo Slice, your boy, is a fraud."

Wilbon's on-air partner Dan Le Batard then said, point blank, "Are you saying it was fixed?"

Wilbon replied, "Yes."

He then went on to compare MMA to Pro Wrestling saying, "It was fixed. Wrestling was fixed, I loved it all my life. It was fixed." Wow.

I truly don't think anything official is going to come of it. Florida has already stated that they believe no wrong-doing occurred (even though it did), and they're simply opening this investigation to get fans to stop calling and sending in official complaints (good job in getting that .pdf out there, Jared!). They're not going to put any effort into this whatsoever.

It doesn't matter. The damage has been done. When folks like Jim Rome start talking about you fixing fights, you're going to be viewed as guilty. It doesn't matter if you aren't guilty in the least; people are going to assume that you are. And while seeing EliteXC as a company fold was something that would have given me a perverse pleasure before Seth Petruzelli "shocked the world", now it's just something that needs to happen. Companies that give mixed martial arts a bad name shouldn't be allowed to do business.

Arlvoski tornerà in palestra la prossima settimana di relax dopo Vegas in questo week-end. Se si combatte su Fedor Affliction della carta di gennaio, ci sarà una partita perfetta.

"Devo migliorare il mio pugilato", ha detto. "Voglio trovare con lui, ma devo essere pronto per il clinch, per il wrestling, per il Jiu-jitsu, quindi ho un sacco di lavoro da fare".

ELITEXC video intervista con Andrei Arlovski

“It disgusts me,” White said. “I’ve been busting my (expletive) for 10 years flying all over the planet to show everybody what a great sport this is and what amazing people are involved in it. Then CBS throws this guy who fights at people’s barbecues on the main event because they’re trying to compete with us, and he gets knocked out in (14) seconds by a guy who didn’t win ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ and couldn’t fight in the UFC. Then the guy turns around the next day and says, ‘The promoters actually paid me to not go to the ground with this guy. They paid me to stand up,’ which I’m pretty sure is illegal.”

It's pretty obvious White is steamed, and who can blame the guy, he will turn around and bash his competition whenever possible, whether or not they have commited an illeagal activity or not. Overall though, it does hurt the credibility of the sport, and its a shame that this is the most coverage MMA has received in the National press all year.

Now granted that Nick Diaz does not come off as the most humble individual - at least in the public eye - it baffles me why a fighter feels they have the right to dictate who they fight as a title holder. No matter the opponent, as champion, the title should ALWAYS be defended by the best. If an offer is turned down for prime time events because of financial (and contract) differences, is completely ridiculous.

It doesn't appear that the two get a long very well anyways but is no reason to tell an employer the job description will not be fulfilled. Some MMA fighters could use a lesson in etiquette, self-respect and professionalism. When an individual has the title of the best, people will do what it takes to make that untrue. Be humble about one's accomplishment(s) and always show respect. If you're not showing respect to your opponent for personal reasons, then pay respect to your dojo and remember you represent your corner.

Noons stripped of martial arts title

K.J. Noons of the Big Island was stripped of his EliteXC world lightweight championship on Friday night.

Jeremy Lappen, head of fight operations for the EliteXC organization, said Noons has been reluctant to defend the championship against California's Nick Diaz.

"We are stripping K.J. of his championship belt for refusing to defend against Diaz,'' Lappen said. "It's a very unfortunate situation but we cannot have belt-holders who refuse to fight the top contenders. We want champions who will fight anyone, any time, any place. That's the mentality all champions should have."

Noons defeated Diaz last November for the lightweight (160 pounds) title. In Noons' most recent bout, he defeated Yves Edwards to defend the championship in June at the Blaisdell Center Arena.

According to Lappen, Noons has twice turned down offers for a rematch against Diaz.

"I don't understand why he would turn down a chance to be a headliner on CBS on Oct. 4," Lappen said. "Personally, I do not think it was a smart career move, but I'm sure he sees it differently. K.J. has two more fights remaining on his contract, so we are still looking forward to having him fight for us again soon, but not as our world champion.''

Noons has stated previously that he was unhappy with EliteXC because he was getting paid less per fight than Diaz, even after he beat Diaz.

Noons was raised in Kailua, Kona, but now trains in San Diego.
