Humanity will finally tire of the need to evacuate their bowels, deeming it "gross" and "completely unsexy."

Scientists will be commissioned to create foods where every part of the food is used by the body when ingested, thus eliminating the need to eliminate. Drinks of the same criteria will be created shortly after.

Without the need for a toilet anymore, people will convert the smallest room in the house into a departure and arrival bay for their particle transfer machines, the most popular form of transport of the time.

by Mike Caro
If you were asked to name things that comprise the universe, which ones would go at the

by Mike Caro

If you were asked to name things that comprise the universe, which ones would go at the very top of your list? Tough question, right? Everything is part of our universe, whether it's a physical object or an emotion. Galaxies are part of the universe. So are black holes and peanuts, toothpicks and battleships. So are feelings of anger and of contentment.

Gee, the more I think about it, the more I realize how many choices you have. There must be more than a hundred. When itemizing all the things that make up the universe, it's hard to decide what you might list first. But if you're like most typical Americans, one thing almost surely will be among the first five things that occur to you. What is it? OK, I'll tell you, if you really want the answer, but you're going to feel really stupid for having to ask.

Near the top of almost everyone's list of things that comprise the universe is this: Strategy for poker tournaments. Don't feel bad - I know you meant to say that. Everyone has a mental block now and then. Anyway, just the other day, I was thinking about this important piece of the universe. And it occurred to me that there exists a popular tournament concept that's completely wrong!

A terrible tournament concept.
The incorrect concept is: You should almost always seek to eliminate opponents in a percentage-payoff tournament. The thinking is that the more players you can get rid of, the closer you are to the money. After all, if prize money will go to only the top eight finishers, then if you can eliminate all but eight players right this second, then guess what? You're in the money!

For this reason, most serious players believe that it's worth a sacrifice to eliminate an opponent. And, actually, that's theoretically correct. But what players don't seem to realize is that often the sacrifice they should be willing to make is a very small one. In fact, the adjustments you can correctly make in an attempt to knock a player out of a tournament in the early stages are so insignificant that they should rarely affect your decision. That's important, and I'm going to repeat it: Early in a tournament, you should seldom change your strategy in an attempt to eliminate an opponent. Let's straighten out the misconception once and for all.

Not long ago, I'm in a seven-card stud tournament and, by the second round, one player - I'll call him Tim, because that's what everyone else calls him - has experienced such misfortune that he commands less than $200 worth of his original $1,000 in tournament chips. I have somewhere around $600 remaining. The betting limits are currently $40 through 4th Street and $80 after that. Tim finds himself heads-up against me at the river. The pot is small. At this point, he has $150 in front of him and decides to make an $80 wager.

The opponent, an extremely knowledgeable player with a charming disposition - OK, it was me - thinks and decides to call. On the showdown the bettor has a pair of kings and I have tens-up.

Some second guessing.
Immediately, the woman to my right starts complaining nonstop, "How could you let him survive? Why didn't you raise and put him all in? He's going to come back and beat you. You could have knocked him out of the tournament!"

And the dealer says, trying to lighten the tension, "Maybe they're friends." I know, you think that was an inappropriate remark for a dealer to make. Some players would have gone ballistic hearing those words, but I never let things dealers say annoy me. They have tough jobs and once in a while things tumble from their lips that don't sound right. Happens to all of us.

I just reply, matching the dealer smile for smile, "Well, Tim does look like he'd make a good friend. Maybe he'll be nice and not bluff me in the future. Favor for favor, if you know what I mean."

My attempt at friendly sarcasm wasn't satisfying the woman on my right. "You had an obligation to knock him out of the tournament. It's not fair to the other players when you play soft."

Of course, I hadn't played soft at all. In fact, I had almost not called the bet. If I hadn't, then the player would have had hundreds of dollars more in tournament chips, rather than the $70 I had left him with. Had I raised in an attempt to knock him out, I would have risked almost a full $80 bet ($10 short) in a situation that barely justified a call. Looking back I figured that I would have lost three out of four times had I made a similar call forever.

If I assume that my opponent would have always called and my handicapping is correct, that means that for every four raise attempts, I would lose $70 three times and win $70 (eliminating the opponent) once. That translates to a loss of $140 every four attempts or $35 per attempt. What this means is that I would need to sacrifice $35 on average if I made an attempt to eliminate this opponent. Of course, there are other factors to consider: The raise might cause Tim to fold a better hand and Tim might not call the raise, among others. But let's just assume Tim is always going to call my raise and that I'm a 3-to-1 underdog. That way, we can simplify and accept the $35 projected cost as valid in order for me to make my point.

So, let me ask you a question: Would it have been worth $35 to me to attempt to knock Tim out of the tournament? Remember, that is the cost of the attempt, not the cost of eliminating him. By my prediction (although he would have lost, as it turned out) I would have won only a quarter of the time.

The woman to my right certainly must think it was worth $35, because she continues her critique, "You wrote that you should always do everything possible to eliminate people, and then you have the chance and you don't do it."

"I see your point," I respond as politely as possible. "But you might have me confused with someone else. I don't remember ever writing that."

The truth about eliminating opponents.

The truth is, you should seldom make this type of raise with anything but a major advantage, especially if it will cost you a significant portion of your stacks. Even if you have a great deal of chips and your opponent has only a few, it is not incumbent upon you to put that player all-in in hopes of eliminating him. Also, it is not required that you make a "courtesy" call when you have a large stack and your opponent puts himself all-in for a pittance. The later it is in the tournament, the more beneficial it is for you to eliminate opponents. Early in a tournament with, say, 201 players remaining, there is very little value in taking the worst of it in an attempt to knock out an opponent.

You need to ask yourself this question: How much will this sacrifice cost me? Let's say it's $35 in tournament chips, as in the previous example. Then ask yourself how much you will gain from eliminating an opponent. Wait! This is tricky. In simple (but not precisely accurate) terms, you will actually gain on average about 1/200th of the value that eliminating this player will have to the entire field of competitors. In other words, whatever eliminating this player adds to the expectations of all players, you - being only one of 200 then remaining players - will profit only the same as everyone else will. So, here's how it appears: If it's costing you $35 in chips, then the value of eliminating this player right now needs to be at least $7,000 (200 times $35). But, wait! Since I'm only going to succeed in eliminating Tim once in four similar raises, the value of eliminating him needs to be four times as large as my sacrifice. That means, the value to the entire field of players of eliminating Tim right now needs to be $28,000 in tournament chips. You read it right.

You might see this better if you think of it as costing $140 to eliminate Tim. That's because on average, it will take four similar tries, each costing $35 in sacrificial money, to get him out. Since 1/200th of $28,000 is $140, and that should just about balance your books.

If you're beginning to suspect that the value of eliminating Tim cannot possibly approach $28,000 in a tournament that has roughly $100,000 in total chips, I'm glad. You are seeing how silly this sacrifice-to-eliminate opponents advice can be in early stages of a tournament.

Now it becomes clear why the advice to always try to knock out opponents is bad. Most players sacrifice too greatly in their attempt to send opponents home early. The logic I've just presented is not quite pure, though. Small stacks often benefit more than large ones when an opponent is eliminated. This is easy to see at the final table, because small stacks move up in money position when they might otherwise have been eliminated.

One of the best things that can happen to all remaining players is for two opponents with huge stacks to collide and one be eliminated. You then face the same number of opposing chips, but you have fewer opponents to contend with. Contrary to the opinions of some, this does not make it harder for you to win a tournament. Your chances of winning first place are about the same with $10,000 vs. two players each with $45,000 as vs. one player with $90,000. In each case - ignoring other minor factors which I've discussed elsewhere - your chance of winning are about 10 percent. That's because you have 10 percent of the chips. Of course, your chance of taking second place are much improved against the single opponent - in fact your chances are absolute. That's why you want big stacks to go to war. It's also why - when you have a lot of chips - you do not want to go to war with another big stack.

Won't you feel silly if they beat you?
The big argument players give for wanting to eliminate an opponent is: "They might come back and beat you." So what? They also might come back to beat somebody else. Besides, they're more likely to beat you if you call and lose, because then they have more chips to build from and to attack you with. Why is it so much more tragic if a person you might have eliminated comes back to beat you then if someone else knocks you out of a tournament? When you're out, you're out.

There is no logic to the popular eliminate-players-at-all-costs advice. The only factor that matters is whether sacrificing your normally profitable strategy in an effort to eliminate an opponent will add or subtract from your expected payoff.

In the late stages of a tournament, where fewer players share large benefits when a player is eliminated, it's often worth making some sacrifice. In the early stages, it isn't. That's the simple truth. You may not like the sound of it, and it may run contrary to everything you've heard before. But it is the truth, nonetheless.

At last, that great agent of Satan, Mickey Mouse, has been revealed for all to see. We have all long expected that such beings as Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck and Elma Fudd are secret agents working for Satan.

How better off would we be if these characters had been eliminated years ago? Surely legislation must be passed to outlaw these characters, with shoot on sight allowances being made for gun owners, especially in the United States. If all gun owners were allowed onto the streets to take out any Mickey Mouses, Donald Ducks, Elma Fudds and all other such characters, how much better would we all be?

No more gherkins to haunt us as we eat. No more fear of our burgers being swept off by a hamburgler! No more large Grimace-like creatures to scare children!

The Melbourne Storm have been criticised for months, even years, over the various tackling methods that they use. These methods have included the infamous grapple tackle, the chicken wing tackle and wrestling coaches to assist the Storm in tackling. With all of the controversy about the Storm and their tackling methods the Storm have largely ignored the warning signs and now are likely to suffer the consequences.

The Storm’s captain, Cameron Smith, tonight faces the NRL judiciary to answer for a grapple tackle in which he made ‘unnecessary contact with the head or neck’ of Sam Thaiday in last weekend’s elimination match with the Brisbane Broncos.

If found guilty, Smith faces a ban of two weeks, which would of course include the Grand Final should Melbourne defeat the Cronulla Sharks this weekend. If Melbourne is eliminated this weekend, the suspension would include the Australia v New Zealand World Cup opening match.

My tip would be that Cameron Smith will be suspended and will pay the consequences of ignoring the many warnings that have been sounded concerning the tackling methods of the Storm.

The video below, while not great, does show the tackle on Sam Thaiday:

After loosing to the New Zealand Warriors last week, the Melbourne Storm were facing elimination if they lost in tonight’s game against the Brisbane Broncos. The winner would be through to play the Cronulla Sharks next week in order to reach the Grand Final.

Last night saw the Warriors survive to fight another day and they will play the Manly Sea Eagles next week in order to reach the Grand Final.

Having trailed Brisbane all night, right through until the final seconds of the game, Melbourne managed to capitalise on a Brisbane mistake and score with only seconds to play. Melbourne had fought back from 12 – 0 down at half time to be trailing 14 – 12 with only seconds to play.

Somehow, having made it back deep into the Brisbane half, the Storm managed to score a try giving them an amazing 16 – 14 victory.

Earlier in the second half it appeared that Melbourne had scored a miracle try to hit the lead, only to have it disallowed and for Brisbane to be given a penalty instead. Replays suggested the ruling may have been correct, though the replays were in no way conclusive.

Brisbane were of course shattered by the late try, having already been convinced that they were about to win the game and progress to the next match. But it wasn’t to be and the season’s best team marches on and a possible defence of last year’s premiership title is still a possibility.

The following is an excerpt from Hot and Cold Diseases (c) 2008 by R. G. Heft. Hot and Cold Diseases is a blend of traditional Chinese, Ayurvedic and Western medicine and is based on the author’s personal and professional experiences, including the questioning and counseling of 30,000+ people. Western medical authority does not scientifically recognize either medicine. It considers them more opinion than fact despite the fact that two billion plus people practices them.
Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) is a common digestive disorder with the following symptoms: abdominal bloating, pain, gas, nausea, mucous in the stools, constipation, diarrhea and or anorexia. It tends to attack women, twice as much as men and is also known as intestinal neurosis, mucous colitis and or spastic colitis.

IBS is generally caused by poor diet. Low protein, low fat (milk, yogurt, cottage cheese, ice cream, etc.) and high carbohydrate diets (pasta, bread, salads, tropical fruits, juices, smoothies, cold drinks, etc.) in the extreme, tend to (a) dilute and weaken digestion, acid and enzymes, reducing nutrient absorption while increasing waste products that adhere to the walls of the large and small intestines and (b) weaken the intestinal muscles that push food and fluids, allowing food and waste to accumulate in the small and large intestines, producing digestive disturbances.

.

Many women tend to eat low protein, low fat (soft dairy, beans, nuts and seeds) and high carbohydrate diets. Protein and fat build and fuel all structure and function. Low protein and low fat, in the extreme, tend to weaken all structure and function, including digestion and elimination. Too many carbohydrates (fruit, vegetables and grains), in excess, tend to dilute and weaken digestion, acid and enzymes, producing bloating, gas; loose stools, diarrhea and or constipation.

One of my customers (health food store) was suffering from IBS. Her daily, weekly symptoms were abdominal bloating, gas, loose stools, constipation, headaches and swelling (her arms and legs were swollen twice their size). I diagnosed her condition as a cold and damp spleen. She was eating a low protein and low fat diet in addition to salads and juices (too cleansing). The coldness of her diet had overwhelmed her spleen producing the aforementioned symptoms. I recommended the middle, building diet, spices as well as reduction in cold foods and cold drinks. Week by week her condition got better, hotter, stronger until nine months later when her symptoms rarely appeared. The swelling in her arms and legs also disappeared. She was very happy. A year later, her symptoms came back. She was still worried about her health and had gone to see a nutritionist who had recommended golden seal (9 capsules a day) which is a cold and bitter herb. I had originally diagnosed coldness as the cause of her condition, which she re-aggravated once she started taking golden seal. I refused to sell her any golden seal.

The middle diet, meal plan (1/3 protein and fat, 1/3 grain, 1/3 cooked vegetables, fruit, spices,. tea, etc.) adjusted accordingly is recommended. Those with high cholesterol, high blood pressure, cirrhosis, etc. can eat more beans, nuts, etc. while reducing meat, eggs, cheese, etc. For more info please read Chapter 2 (Way of Food) on this blog.

Bran is the hard outer layer of grain and can be milled from any cereal grain, including rice. Bran is particularly rich in dietary fiber and omegas, and contains significant quanitities of starch, protein, vitamins and dietary minerals.

Rice bran is a by-product of rice milling and it's known to contain antioxidants. It's known that a major rice bran fraction contains tocotrienol, gamma-oryzanol, and beta-sitosterol - all of which may contribute to lowering the plasma levels of various paramenters of the lipid profile. Rice bran also contains a high level of dietary fibers.

Most dietary fiber products on the market are psyllium-based, and most produce carbon dioxide and methane in the intestinal tract which can cause bloating, gas and discomfort. The stabilized rice bran found in Rice Fiber Plus is a "friendly fiber" promoting "regularity, alleviating occasional constipation while helping one's body digest food more quickly and easily." Rice Fiber Plus may help to promote normal elimination and regularity, healthy weight management, and normal blood sugar levels.

The Khmer Rouge Tribunal (KRT) last Friday established an anti-corruption committee in the court to

The Khmer Rouge Tribunal (KRT) last Friday established an anti-corruption committee in the court to avoid criticism by nationals and internationals.

Sean Visoth, head of administration, said to officials he would resign if the corruption was found in the ECCC. But observers have not been convinced by his announcement as now the corruption allegation has not been addressed.

Tribunal spokesman Reach Sambath told reporters the anti-corruption committee is head by Judge Kong Srim, head of Supreme Court Chamber, and Helen Jarvis, head of public affairs.

“H.E. Sean Visoth stresses he wants to solve it. From now if any corruption is found, he will step down. He has sacrificed his life in this kind of work to get effectiveness and justice for people,” Reach Sambath said.

The anti-corruption committee establishment followed subsequent corruption allegation though independent auditors have not discovered any graft, Sambath added.

Reach Sambath said of any offences imposed for those commit corruption, “As we know, we have to respect law. Judge Prak Kim San said those who give someone bribe are wrong. Those who receive bribe must be ready to be imprisoned. You Bunleng said that those who take bribe to someone must be dismissed and those who receive bribe must be punished.”

Youk Chhang, director of the Documentation Center of Cambodia, said the public will resume reviewing the effectiveness of the anti-corruption body in the tribunal.

“The most important thing is that we have to monitor the body’s activities and what measures the body has taken. Thus, both outcomes and legacy are depended on the body’s efforts, based on their own destination,” he added.

The UN-joined tribunal has been proceeding for over two years. The corruption allegation inside the administrative subsequently emerged. Recently, the UN Development Program has frozen Cambodian staffers’ monthly salaries for the month of July 2008 due to a new corruption allegation which has undermined the tribunal.

Keo Thyvuth, chief of personnel, was removed from his position and transferred back to his office of the Council of Ministers.

The trial of Kaing Guek Eav, alias Duch, is expected to begin in September or October as his case file is completely investigated. But it is concerned over budgetary crisis that may result in the delay of the planned trial of former Khmer Rouge leaders.

Donors have not yet brought more money to the tribunal because of the corruption allegation.

Observers say the U.S.-based Open Society Justice Initiative (OSJI) was directly critical of the corruption inside the tribunal, but Sean Visoth dismissed it and refused to cooperate with OSJI.

Instead, now Sean Visoth announces to fight against the corruption, establishing a so-called anti-corruption body headed by Judge Kong Srim and Helen Jarvis.

Sean Visoth’s last Friday announcement involved in the anti-corruption body is more likely that the court is totally ravaged by corruption.

Former KR leaders are condemned for killing some 1.7 million people during their reign from 17 April 1975 to early January 1979.

Five jailed and trial-awaiting former KR leaders and those most responsible for include Nuon Chea, former president of people representative’s assembly; Ieng Sary, former deputy prime minister in charge of foreign affairs; Khieu Samphan, former head of state; Ieng Thirith, former social affairs; and Kaing Guek Eav, alias Duch, former chief of Tuol Sleng prison.

Civil societies’ officials and Cambodian people inside and outside the counties want the defendants’ trial to be held soon in order that they reveal the crimes committed.

The ageing and seriously ill leaders could die before going to trial if the court is delayed. Ieng Sary suffers from urinating blood and Khieu Samphan suffers from high blood pressure. Both of them are most often taken to Calmette Hospital.

The Body Beauté offers a program with five basic elements to help you achieve a flat tummy without surgery. The five elements are re-balancing the body's energy; improving circulation; detoxifying and cleansing the blood; improving the body's ability to eliminate waste; and, finally, toning and firming. "Fat is just toxins that have built up in the body," explains Deborah McCamie, owner of The Body Beauté.

Deborah explains that re-balancing the body's energy is like moving a fallen tree out of a stream. The water on one side of the fallen tree is dirty and stagnant while the other side's water is running clear and free. That's what happens when the body's energy is blocked. Deborah has over 120 treatments available to use in her customized approach to each client's needs, including the use of specific exotic oils that are massaged into the skin to detoxify the blood and improve circulation.

Detoxifying, improving circulation and elimination are at the core of the program. After several sessions, the regimen turns to toning and firming. "Toning and firming without doing the other things first, is like putting wax on a dirty floor," says Deborah.

A recent client of The Body Beauté is Luanne Zabytko, a new product strategy manager for Zeneca and a pharmacist by training. Luanne was always bottom heavy with thick thighs and hated swimsuit season. Luanne's personalized slimming treatment was a combination of sea algae detoxification from off the southern coast of France, lymph drainage treatment from Italy, The Body Beauté's exclusive electronic exercise treatment from Germany, a customized low-fat eating program and lots of water.

Luanne lost 20 pounds and 20-1/4" off her waist, hips, and thighs.

"I'm the lowest weight I've ever been in my adult life. I used to be busting out of size 14. Now I wear a size 8," she says. "and I feel better than I've ever felt. I have more energy and a much more positive outlook. The biggest serendipity is that I do not suffer from any PMS symptoms anymore."

Deborah McCamie Beaute can get you a great body, too!

I’m extremely fascinated by how people miss the point with books such as Machiavelli’s T

I'm extremely fascinated by how people miss the point with books such as Machiavelli's The Prince or any of Robert Greene's books (i.e 48 Laws of Power or 33 Strategies of War). At the very least, being open about liking such books would raise eyebrows. At the very worst, it would make people question your morals or lack thereof.

It is not at all a bad thing to understand how to deal with malicious people whom are out to get you. Rest assured that there are people who not only are not considering your benefit but are working against your benefit. Why should we not learn the tools that would allow us to address such people so that we eliminate them as threats and prevent others from taking their place?

Elimination does not mean death. It doesn't mean breaking the law. It involves using any of the available tools to take away power, influence, connections, etc. Who wouldn't like to neutralize a threat without having to physically hurting anybody? Let me provide an example. Last night, I was watching a DVR recorded episode of the A&E show The Cleaner. In order to deal with a client's wife's painkiller addiction, Banks (the main character) set up his plan so that each of this woman's sources of painkillers would be removed. First, with her husband's permission, all of her accounts were frozen; thus, severely reducing her income to purchase a new supply. Then, Banks and a female team member set up an appointment with a doctor that she used as a regular supplier. Banks made it clear to the doctor that they knew what he was up to and explained to him that, under no conditions, was he to further supply the client's wife. Finally, Banks, posing as a federal agent, walked by the woman's friends (the client and her friends were involved in a suburban painkiller ring) and let his badge slip out. He opened up his wallet-case so that the women could see the badge-making them think that there was law enforcement surveilling them. In rolling out this plan, Banks and his team targeted her finance and isolated her from her allies. Essentially, they were starving this woman of drugs. Nobody was hurt or threatened. No explicit threats were made. Rather than use direct confrontation, Banks used an indirect approach.

The point that I'm making is that we so highly value a direct approach that the indirect approach is looked down upon. If in a streetfight, the fighters stand toe-to-toe and exchange blows. What about taking an indirect approach by slowly breaking down the body (attacking weak points on limbs or using jointlocks/holds) so that, when taking the direct approach, then less blows would have to be used to quickly end the fight? I look at things like this-do what is necessary to quickly end a fight. However, even before waging a direct battle, the opponent must be broken down so that they don't have much fight left. Work on their psychological mindset, remove/demoralize allies, sever supplies. These are just some of the tactics to wil set up an opponent for the final knockout-the coup de grace.

I'll leave you with this quote. Scrooge McDuck said on the TV cartoon Ducktales, "Work smarter, not harder."
