EB Games, this rant is for you.

I like the concept of trading and buying used games.

However, I hate when those games don't have their instruction book. I hate it even more when used games don't have their instruction booklet or their original case. Sure playing the game is the best part. But I also like displaying my games, and I like reading the instructions (usually while sitting on the toilet... I know, TMI my couch sipping a nice civilized cup of cappuccino).

You can picture my horror stricken face while browsing used PSP games in one of the Ottawa EB Games stores today, and seeing about half of the used games don't have cases or instructions. That's not even the worst part. I find it downright silly that the store doesn't give a discount for games that are in the cheesy EB Games makeshift cases. I mean used games are usually only about $5 cheaper anyways, so if the game is missing its aesthetic appeal, why buy it for the minimal discount?

I can't imagine EB Games pays people the full trade-in value for games without instructions or cases -- I wouldn't know because I always take care of my cases and instructions -- so why sell them for full price?

Just seems like a rip off.

Oh, and as a postscript and disclaimer, I have had issues with EB Games in the past.

There is a new enemy for the modern gamer, and that is a fellow gamer. Its not limited to a person

There is a new enemy for the modern gamer, and that is a fellow gamer. Its not limited to a person in particular, but we all have one of the following that we know, and secretly want to beat with a PS3 on the head uncontrollably.
Where brotherhood and companionship there is now gamer points to be won by simple picking off and destroying the person who had your back a few missions ago. Sure it's ok for him to kill your character, but you know the second you do the same to him/her, its hell to pay. it makes you want to unplug your headset and disconnect the live connection. Followed by blocking them on whatever your im'ing service of choice is.
Moving on, there is a new kind of predator, it's no longer your bank account telling you have insufficient funds for that new system or game. Its the person behind you who is waiting to get their grubby hands on what you possess most, not only to afford it, but purchase excess than you think you could ever need. They are also going to a rent free home, a fridge full of food, and air conditioning/warmth. This enemy is the living-at-home gamer.
The next is one we can't deny we know. Its the video game section/store employee. Don't think that just because you get paid to sell stuff we probably know more about then your bullshitting sorry ass, that it makes you all mighty game expert. The game I asked you to save for me I just saw about 10 seconds ago given to some hot guy or girl. And yeah that broad on the other side of the aisle who only knows how to spell her name cuz its on her credit card, does have bigger tits than me, and more expensive clothes, her brain cant handle what you're telling her about that game! Dont waste your time and effort, shes probably going to text her friend about how lame you were! And speaking of tits, just because I have them and a pink Gameboy, doesnt make me less of a gamer than you, in fact, I see you only have about 3000 gamer points, while I have about 45,000. Oh so now you're interested cuz I play games, thanks for the gamertag, don't expect to be added. Finally, fuck you and your little name tag, your goofy shirt and disgusting snug face.

I'm spent, I hope you can share some of your own stories. :)

Continuing from my last entry on Wii Fit. After camping the ToysRUs site for that one Wii Fit they

Continuing from my last entry on Wii Fit. After camping the ToysRUs site for that one Wii Fit they were selling every hour yesterday, I finally managed to get one. After a brief celebration, they emailed me several hours later and said it was backordered. WTF. Then why the hell were you playing that stupid stupid 1-Wii Fit-every-hour game and wasting people's time? Urgh. That's just false advertisement/scamming. And I had already opened my copy up 'cause I thought it was finally settled.

Well, this morning, while checking the Wii Fit tracker I noticed that Amazon had it for sale. Ordered one immediately then called my friend who then ordered one. Canceled mine after that (as well as the stupid ToysRUs order) once I got confirmation from my friend. It's actually cheaper than ToysRUs and doesn't seem to have that stupid 2-3 day processing time too. Though it looks like the one sold on Amazon is actually being sold by Target, which is also selling a Wii+Wii Fit+Wii Wheel+Sports Pack+rechargeable batteries bundle for $400, which is kinda decent, except for the Sports Pack (and the wheel's useless if you don't get Mario Kart).

My friend ended up getting Wii Fit through Craigslist this morning after making the order though. Craigslist prices actually aren't that bad either. The lack of shipping and sales tax makes the lower-end prices comparable to ordering it online. Gamestop/EB Games preorders should also be released pretty soon if people are still looking for it.

Anyway, since the Amazon/Target deal couldn't be canceled, my friend will have an extra copy, which you may find for relatively cheap next week on Craigslist. :P

Well, I have been needing a new game for a little while now after finishing Assassins Creed, and I decided to pick up Turok. I had a cousin who played all the way through the game and thought that if he could spend the time playing through it then it must be worth playing. So I ran over to my local Eb Games and laid down $52 dollars. To get to the point: the game is horrible.

After installing the game I found out that the CDs are using copy protection, no CD-Keys or anything, just the infernal SecuROM copy protection. Now if I didn't know how to circumvent this protection the game would have been unplayable, as the game will not even load. (to do this enter cmd into the run command to open a command prompt then type rd /s "%APPDATA%\SecuROM" and then enter y to the question that comes up)

Once you finally get the game to load and start the game, you are presented with a cut scene and a short training session then you are put into the game world. Upon entering the first actual area, you notice that the graphics look like they are 4 years old, nothing spectacular in any fashion. As you continue to play through you notice that the character animations are terrible, and are choppy (even at high FPS). After a few enemy encounters you notice that the enemies AI is so bad that you can kill someone right beside them and they just stand around. I even encountered times where I was standing right in front of the enemy and they didn't see me at all. Guns also float when they should be laying on the ground. To top off terrible game design when I went up or down a ladder, enemies would just appear in places where I killed them before, they didn't come from anywhere, they just appeared.

The only saving grace for this game is that the story so far appears to be interesting and present in the game, which all single player games need. While I realize that my 52 bucks was poorly spent, I will still try to play this game all the way through. I would only be more choked if I tossed the game aside and my hard earned money along with it. Do yourself a favor and skip this game.

I have recieved word today from EB Games that the strategy guide for GTA IV will not be avaliable for the night of the release. As there as been a printing error, the guide will be released on May 5. However, anyone who wants the guide can pre-order it on the night of GTA IVs launch and still get the 20% off deal that they normally offer.

On another note, anyone who pre-orders Race Driver GRID (and MGS4, though that is a PS3 title) will get 20% off those titles in done on the night of the launch.

EDIT: I've noticed through trackbacks on the hits of this story that people from all over the world have read this article. I need to clarify that this is in Australia only, not worldwide, to my knowledge.

By Dimorphic

With Grand Theft Auto IV being the biggest game release since Halo 3 EB Games Australia have confirmed that all stores across Australia (bar WA and those with smaller pre-order stocks) will be opening at 12:01 am on the 29th of April for a midnight release of the game.

EB has also confirmed with me that they will have some excess stock that are not pre-orders for customers that want to buy the game at the launch but have not put a pre-order on the game.

Also for those that are still hunting a Limited Edition make sure to head down to your local store for the release because as with Halo 3 there will no doubt be some cancellations of LE pre-orders.

One week from today guys! Be sure to check Dimorphic360 for my impressions and later a review of the game as well as all the news leading up to the launch.

I lucked into an awesome deal at EB Games. I went there to trade in some old GCN and DS games towards a new copy of Guitar Hero III (the old disc got scratched to the point that it doesn't play after a toppling XBox incident) and left with both that game and a pre-order of GTA IV for only $60.

They had a deal on where trading in 3 games got you GTA IV for free. For some odd reason, an old GCN game, a DS game, and the damaged copy of Guitar Hero III all counted towards that. With my remaining GCN game and $60, I then bought a new copy of Guitar Hero III.

That's basically a $140 value in premium games for $60, taxes in. Pretty sweet, if you ask me.

Now I just have to wait until April 29th to bask in the next-gen GTA goodness. Game on.

Under the Radar - Two Games Well Worth Playing

Every so often there is a game that comes out that slips in under the radar. Often these games look

Every so often there is a game that comes out that slips in under the radar. Often these games look and feel every bit like their big budget brother games but just don't have the marketing department like EA. These two games are very worthy individuals and should be played as such.

The Witcher is a fantastic RPG made by CD Projekt Red, set in a fantasy world reminiscent of the middle ages. You are a Witcher: a outcast of society and known for their legendary monster hunting skills. The game earns a mature ESRB rating, and it is very well deserved. From drinking yourself stone drunk to nudity and fornication to language your mother would slap you for, this game has it all. Medieval Mass Effect anyone?

This is a full on RPG and will have you brewing potions just to survive, as potions is the main focus in the game, as opposed to weapons and armor in the majority of games in this genre. Each potion you brew is made from hard alcohol and herbs that you have collected from plants in the game and will affect you so. Battles become a game of selecting the right potions for the job, without drinking so many that your toxicity become detrimental.

All dialog throughout the game is spoken, creating a living breathing world for you to play in. You need to be careful about what you say in this world as your choices could come back to haunt you. I know my choices did - I never got laid by the lady I worked so hard to get to know! The storyline is amazing and is surrounded by many amazing dynamic characters.

If you like mature RPGs do yourself a favor and pick this one up it was well worth the 50 bucks I paid for it.

The second game that you should treat yourself too if you haven't played it yet, is S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl. Nobody is really sure what it stands for and if it is even a acronym for anything at all. The game is written by a Russian company called GSC Game World and published by THQ. Like the title suggests you are somehow involved with Chernobyl after the nuclear meltdown that made it famous. The beginning of the game shows a short video of the events leading up to the game although they don't quite tell you who you are and why you are here. All you know is that you have arrived in the zone and are to learn the mysteries of it and of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. tattoo on your arm.

The game is a well rounded shooter with lots of weapons at your disposal, but it plays like an RPG variant of an FPS. You will spend a lot of your time exploring the zone and meeting the people in it, ones not affected by the radiation and the ones who are. Many places and situations in the game are very creepy in nature and will have you closer to the edge of your seat with each new adrenaline rush. The RPG portion of the game will have you collecting money, guns, ammunition, armor and radiation suits. Radiation suit you ask? Well parts of the zone still have pockets of radiation in them, and found within theses pockets are artifacts that boost certain aspects of you. Collecting and trading these artifacts is a important part of the game.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R Shadow of Chernobyl can be had at EbGames and GameStop for $30 dollars right now and is well worth it. The story line is original and the ending is a great one. Also note that a prequel to S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is in the works and is known as Clear Sky. The current release date for the prequel is Q2 (Quarter 2) of 2008.

By Dimorphic

I recently had an interview with the Tweed City EB Games Franchise manager Brent Grigson (who has since left the store and taken up a position in the Australian Army) about the claims from the gaming community that EB were greedy offering the ESA for the Xbox 360 just to make a quick buck and are now caught out because of the unreliability of the early 360 SKUs. You can read the story below which I have written in journalistic 'hard news' form, which you would find in a newspaper or news website for a university assignment, but as it is very much relevant to Xbox 360 and the community I thought I'd post it here as well.

Many consumers are unhappy with EB Games no longer offering replacement consoles in line with their extended service warranty, instead refunding all warrantys purchased and cancelling the initiative.

There has been criticism from the gaming community over the cancelling of the warranty, with many calling EB greedy for offering the warranty to make a quick buck and cancelling it after the hardware problems the Xbox has became apparent.

When asked about the claims, Tweed City franchise manager Brent Grigson said “I don’t think so. We tried to do the right thing by our customers, giving them more security with their purchase. It ended up that EB was losing out, so we ended the warranty but still refunded our customers their money.

"We are no longer able to take broken consoles as per our agreement with Microsoft, we are only doing as we are asked by them.

"I love the 360 as a gaming console, you look at the library of games out at the moment on the platform and say to yourself 'that's the console I should get', but with the problems the hardware has you have to re-think that standpoint.

"The good news is that the new Pro SKUs and Elite SKUs have a much lower fail rate and are a more reliable console but you have to wonder if the damage done by the earlier fiasco will come back to bite Microsoft."

Microsoft has responded to the hardware troubles, extending their first party warranty from the stock one year agreement to three that covers all general hardware failures resulting in a red ring.

Well while i was sick over the past week i thought this game was way more difficult then i thought. i never knew a Fever could make your mind so messed up where you can not do anything. the reason why i am saying this is because. i remember posting on the blog about how i could not beat the 2nd boss in the game how it was so hard. well i picked up the game a few days later and i beat the 2ond boss with out even getting hit once it was just so simple it was unbelievable. the 2ond boss actually becomes one of the normal guys you just have to battle out of no where and fight like 4 - 5 of them at once. well after i picked up the game again because i was thinking it was impossible to beat the 2ond level i ended up beating the whole entire game with out a problem i am actually mad because the game was so easy because it was a GREAT game make sure after the 1st boss battle in the game where you are fighting one of the Persian guys where you get your first magic iferet or what ever its called go threw the dungeon door on the right because you get to screw two Lesbians that part is pretty fun i probably took about an hour out of the game just doing that cause it was fun made me wanna get Leisure Suit Larry - Love for Sail. Again and do the code where you see all nudity. so actually i was going to tell you guys that the game is a 6 and a half hour game but now that i am thinking about it and that i screwed around on that game screwing the lesbo's and putting the game on Pause so much that its probably a 4 and a half hour game took me 6 and a half hours to beat it but i am one of those people who have to look at every nook and cranny because i mite be losing something i need in the game. so its pretty short and pretty easy.

so would i suggest for you guys out there to buy this video game NO. too short Great game but too short go buy it used from your local Game Stop, Eb. and return it once you beat it cause you can actually return used games at game stores "14 days money back and 30 days to exchange"

so i am all better from that shitty cold, finally it was a horrible one and hoping to do something soon because i am dying to go some where i feel like i am turning into a leper that has to stay inside of his house so no one gets a glimpse of him but oh well thats life i guess.

If you're planning on buying Super Smash Brothers Brawl (coming out on March 9th) then you should Reserve your copy. For those of you clueless about what I'm talking about, reserve means to place down say about $5.00 at your local game store for the game then you pay the rest later. So basiclly what you are saing when you give that money is "I'm gona payfor this game early so that when it comes pout, there will be a copy saved for me, and I won't have to wait another 5 weeks for the next shipment of Smash Bros. games to come in." if you do this...GOOD JOB! Chances are, since Smash is popular, it will sell-out very soon.

The following stores are some good places to reserve or buy games:

     Gamestop ( www.gamestop.com )

     Ebgames ( www.ebgames.com )

     Amazon (www.amazon.com )

Or any other game or toy store (search at www.google.com )

Take these words of advise......RESERVE SMASH. OR YOU'LL REGRET IT!!!! Trust me It's the right thing to do.

An article in todays Sydney Morning Herald has EB Games chief executive Steve Wilson refuting the rumours that Microsoft and EB were in a dispute over $10 million of faulty Xbox 360 Pro consoles that Microsoft were unwilling to take back. "It's 99 per cent bullshit really," Wilson said in a phone interview. He states that reason that no Pro's are avaliable due to high Christmas period sales, also saying that the Wii and the DS are sold out. You can still buy an Arcade or Elite SKU. Full article below.

Retailer EB Games has hosed down reports suggesting that a spate of hardware defects with Xbox 360 video game consoles were straining its relationship with Microsoft.

A chat transcript published on the popular gaming blog Kotaku purportedly showed a high-ranking EB Games employee saying the retailer had $10 million worth of defective Xbox 360 consoles for which Microsoft refused to reimburse it.

"There have been threats of EB dropping the Xbox range all together," the transcript read.

The report quickly spread throughout the blogosphere and gaming forums lit up with discussions on the issue, before EB Games finally set the record straight late this afternoon.

"It's 99 per cent bullshit really," EB Games chief executive Steve Wilson said in a phone interview.

Wilson said EB Games had to recall and replace its stock of Xbox 360 units in the middle of last year, but that was an isolated "hard drive batch problem" and all defective units had been returned to Microsoft.

Also in the middle of last year Microsoft said global hardware problems with the Xbox 360 could lead to $US1 billion in repairs and extended the warranty on the console to three years. The admission came after millions of customers worldwide were forced to mail their consoles back to Microsoft for repairs.

Microsoft would not reveal the cause of the "general hardware failure" issues but said Xbox 360 consoles shipping since the middle of last year should not be defective. Gamers have termed the issue "red ring of death" due to the red ring of lights that show on the face of malfunctioning units.

Wilson said EB Games had experienced high returns due to the red ring of death issue earlier in the Xbox 360's life, but the number of defective consoles had declined since Microsoft announced the extended warranty.

"Even when we had the batch problem six months ago, we were talking about a couple of thousand units," Wilson said. "$10 million is 25,000 units - that's a ridiculous number."

In an interview published on a Seattle Post-Intelligencer blog this month, an anonymous Microsoft employee who has "worked on the Xbox 360 project for many years" said about 30 per cent of all Xbox 360 consoles failed early in their life.

The same blog recently broke the news that Halo game developer Bungie would part ways with Microsoft, a full week before the official announcement was released.

"MS was so focused on beating Sony this cycle that the 360 was rushed to market when all indications were that it had serious flaws," the Microsoft employee purportedly said.

"The design qual[ity] testing was insufficient and incomplete when the product was released to production. The manufacturing test equipment had major gaps in test coverage and wasn't reliable or repeatable. Manufacturing processes at all levels of suppliers were immature and not in control."

One of the main causes of the red ring of death was overheating, the employee allegedly said, and the likelihood of this occurring increased when playing system-intensive games or if the console was placed in a hotter environment. This could explain widespread issues in Australia.

Three EB Games stores contacted today said they did not have any Xbox 360 Pro consoles in stock but did have the other Elite and Arcade versions. The lack of stock has been used by some blogs as confirmation of the alleged spat between Microsoft and EB Games, as the Pro model was said to be the most defective.

But Wilson said this was just a coincidence and the stock shortage was due to high sales over the holidays.

"If you go into our stores now you can't buy a Wii, you can't buy a DS, you can't buy a Pro 360, but you can buy an Elite or an Arcade 360," he said.

That's right, a new "very black" look. As Dark said below, he's workin on a banner. I did the same thing he did yesterday. I went to my local Game Stop to pick up Call of Duty 4 and reserve Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Burn Out Paradise as well. The only difference is I already have Assassin's Creed and I got a guide for Resident Evil Chronicles. You might be thinking, "Why the Fuck would you need a guide for a rail shooter"? I looked at it in the store and it shows you where all the key documents are aka what shit to shoot at while your fighting for survival to find items to unlock for levels of play etc. My favorite thing about the guide is they print a lot of the back story behind these new side missions that were unknown before Chronicles. Including printing documents you find in the game so you can read them yourself! As for Assassin's Creed, I did beat it the other day but the repetitiveness of the game kept me from playing it again to get all the flags. Maybe another time..

Hell I'm not the only one who sees this, see Zero Punctuation's Review:

As for CoD4, Dark got surprisingly farther than me but I've been busy trying to get PMod to work but still no progress there. Hell I got new models I still have to add to the old SVN that people are submitting but I may keep forgetting. Hell I'm doing this blog post and I'm at work right now! >:O

The people who work at Gamestop and EB Games are assholes. I'm convinced it's in their job description.

I go to video game stores maybe once or twice in the span of a whole year. EVERY damn time I go, I get retarded snide comments from the clerk about how my game selection is sub-par or something that makes me want to reach across the counter and strangle the bastard.

I was buying a down-level version of a game, for argument's sake we'll call it Resident Evil 2. It’s not, but we'll call it that for argument's sake. It was an early PS2 game anyway. So I bring it to the register and I expect the usual. The guy looks at the game and frowns and says, "you know they're coming out with Resident Evil 6 in like a week right?" I look at the guy and read his name on the cheap piece of plastic pinned to his shirt. "OK steve" is all I say. He says "OK man, I just wanted to save you the aggravation of playing something so old when something better is coming out really soon." Of course he's saying all this with an air of "I've forgotten more about video games than you'll ever know in your lifetime" I kid you not, we go back and forth like this for 2 minutes. He has yet to even touch the register. It got so bad and I was getting so aggravated, I literally had to say, "I don't care Steve, can you please just sell me this game!?" He finally rings up the game and I pay for it.

I wonder if they get health benefits or a 401k, oh wait its GAMESTOP!

Another thing I've come to expect is them trying to sell me a membership to some gaming magazine which will get me discounts on games that I buy there. I always answer with my same routine: "I only come in these stores maybe twice a year, so no thanks" He comes back with some BS logic like: well if you buy a game once a month you wind up saving $60 in a year. I respond "wow is that including the $15 I have to spend for the stupid subscription, and the fact that you only "discount" me $2 for the $20 games and $5 for the $60 games?" His superior smirk disappears from his face as he hands me my game and says "have a nice day"

Future GameStop/EB Games asshole employees

This year's trip I was looking for one of my favorite games: "Katamari Damacy" to give as a gift to my niece and nephew. I've already purchased it myself and given it as a gift to my girlfriend too. (Seriously it's a really fun game!) so I've purchased it twice already HERE IN GREELEY. Much as I hate to say it, it winds up being cheaper at GameStop or EB Games than if I bought it online.

The Shit!

I was in the neighborhood and on my way back from work, so I went to the EB Games in Greeley in the same area as Circuit City. I looked for a little bit and didn't find it. the guy working at the time seemed genuinely polite when he asked me "is there a game I can help you find?" I decided to give him a chance and asked if he knew if they had any copies of Katamari Damacy. Suddenly the guy changed to an asshole. NO KIDDING right in front of me! He says "Oh THAT game. . . it's a rare one, you probably won't find any copies around here, my best advice to you is to buy it on the internet." I decided to test his so-called knowledge and asked "so you don't think GameStop will have it either?" he scoffs and says "GameStop will have an even less selection than we do." OH! and one of the last things he tells me is that I should expect to pay $50 for it even used. "for Katamari Damacy?" I said. "Are you sure?" He scoffs again "I'm positive."

So I decide to go across Highway 34 to the GameStop that's in the same shopping area as Target since that's where I bought the two previous copies. What do you know? they have THREE copies of the game and they're all marked for $14.99 each. I guess when the loser at EB Games says "around here" that means the area around and surrounding the store. But not ACROSS THE F***ING STREET!
I had to laugh as I was leaving GameStop. I notice that the receipt paper has a watermark on it. What do you think it shows? GameStop and EB Games logos! Are you telling me their inventory isn't somehow cross-referenced with each other?! We have no choice but to rely on the "infinite video game knowledge" of the douche bag "workin' the register?"

Killing me softly with his mad "fat" corporate knowledge.

Wow. DDR Universe 1 and 2 for the XBox 360 is/are awesome! My legs are killing me and I feel that this could be my new workout fad. I need to lose weight badly and hopefully this will be a fun and encouraging way to keep me exercising. Scott and I played it for just a little while tonight and I've already made significant improvements in my scores! W00T!

I also have to say that Ebay is my new favorite way of selling things. Scott traded a bunch of video games in at EB Games and received quite a bit of trade-in credit for them. They do not take old Playstation games; however, the gentleman at EB told us we had some very valuable games and to go online to sell them. The first game we looked up was going for over 50 dollars! AND IT IS 10 YEARS OLD! So, I'm now addicted to watching our ebay account to see how many people have viewed our items and see if anyone has bid on them. I think seven days is too long for an auction, but Scott says that it will give people time to find our items. Whoever said "patience is a virtue" was an idiot!

Have a good night! How's that for two blogs in one day? I'm pretty proud of myself!

That is the question. Video gaming in Australia is by no means a cheap habit with each ‘hit

That is the question. Video gaming in Australia is by no means a cheap habit with each 'hit', per say, setting you back at least $70. With games in Australia still being $30-$40 dearer than the American counterparts regardless of how strong the Australian dollar is against the US these days, buying all the new releases can be hard. Gaming franchises the country over have implemented a policy where you take your old, no longer played games and trade them in toward any item in store. It used to be any item in store or cash but these days it is only the former.

Electronics Boutique (now trading as EB Games) was the trend setting company here. They were the first to accept trade in's. However as time went on EB's pricing for trade value became unfair with some games fetching only $5. Now stores like JB Hi-Fi and GAME also accept trade in's and also have fairer prices than EB. These stores also have trade in deals, for example on the launch of Halo 3, EB Games had a deal where if you traded in three Xbox 360 games you would get a standard edition copy of Halo 3 free. They also have deals regarding consoles where you trade in an Xbox 1 and 10 games for example and get a 360 for $200.

This is all well and good but the question here is, is trading in games worth it and what alternatives are there?

This is all down to personal preference of course. Having the option to trade in old software and hardware for credit towards new software or hardware is a nice option to have and trading is certainly faster than trying to sell through a private sale but with the ever expanding eBay trading games in for most of the time less than half their original retail value may not seem so attractive. It is true that you can sell almost anything over eBay, so if you had a copy of Lost Planet that you were looking to get rid of (EB currently values this as $17 trade in) you could easily pick up $30-$35 over eBay. Postage and time consumption comes into play here and trading is seen as the easier solution.

You could however be a collector of video games and it is always nice to have a large library of games as well as always have the option of going back to any of them on a rainy day, but if you haven't touched a game in over a year I think it may be time to use it toward something newer, that you will use, will play.

As I said before however, it is all down to personal preference. Trading games these days is part and parcel with the industry and anyone can trade in there (under 18 needs a parent or guardian) which is the one big selling point it has over eBay. No credit cards required, so you can walk in and walk out in less than 10 minutes.

But consumers in this day and age are becoming more savvy and will not continue to trade in their games that they paid originally upwards of $70 for $10 or $20. Pricing points need to be looked at, they have the right idea with the trade in deals but individual credit needs to be increased because it is coming to the point that trading just isn't worth it.
