<title><![CDATA[Saudades de Stefan Bellof]]></title>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><a rel="attachment wp-att-107" href="http://gpinsider.wordpress.com/2007/09/01/lembrancas-de-stefan-bellof/honda-pode-deixar-f1-em-2008/" title="Stefan Bellof"><img src="http://grandprixinsider.wordpress.com/files/2007/08/bellof.thumbnail.jpg" alt="Stefan Bellof" /></a>  O ex-piloto de F1 e campeão mundial de esporte-protótipos grupo C de 1984 <strong>Stefan BELLOF</strong> tinha todo o potencial para despertar a fascinação dos alemães para o automobilismo como o fez Michael Schumacher nos anos noventa. Bellof faleceu aos 28 anos no dia <span style="font-size:12pt;font-family:Georgia;">1º</span> de setembro de 1985 em um acidente em Spa-Francorchamps.</p>

<p>Um fenômeno no kart, Bellof passou pela Formula Ford vencendo dois títulos e na F3 só não foi campeão por adentrar o campeonato já em andamento.</p>
<p>A estréia na F2 aconteceu em 1983 com vitória em Silverstone, algo inédito na história da categoria, e a festa na mídia alemã realmente aconteceu quando Bellof venceu a segunda etapa também, e em frente ao público de casa em Hockenheim.</p>

<p>Logo ele conseguiu vaga na Porsche, algo inusitado visto que a equipe de fábrica só contratava pilotos com certa experiência e maturidade. No final de 1983 ainda recebeu convite de Ron Dennis para seu primeiro teste de F1. Presente no mesmo dia: Ayrton Senna. Ambos impressionaram, ambos não aceitaram a proposta de um contrato de longo prazo.</p>
<p>Em vez disto o empresário de Bellof, o dono da equipe de F2 Willy Maurer, negociou uma vaga na Tyrrell onde Bellof correu em ’84, sendo o pódio em Mônaco o GP mais memorável de uma temporada cheia de problema políticos para e equipe, e ’85 com o V6 Turbo da Renault finalmente estreando em meados da temporada.</p>

<p>Depois de vencer o título dos pilotos no mundial de marcas o companheiro Derek Bell, Bellof deixou a equipe da Porsche principalmente por causa de attritos com Jacky Ickx. O belga já tinha uma longa história de sucesso na casa e bateu o pé, já que ele se concentrava no contrato com a Porsche, mas Bellof estava atrás da carreira na F1.</p>
<p>Bellof não aceitou ser diminuido pelo veterano e deixou a equipe de fábrica para correr na equipe privativa do suiço Walter Brun. Bellof queria provar que ele compensava a diferença que os 956 de fábrica tinham contra os carros dos clientes da marca de Zuffenhausen.</p>

<p>E foi com esta atitude que Bellof, sempre arrojado e esbanjado talento e domínio do seu carro, arriscou uma manobra no dia 1 de setembro de 1985, em cima de justamente o Jacky Ickx na entrada da Eau Rouge.</p>
<p>Era mais que a satisfação de mais uma de tantas manobras arrojadas, sempre bem sucedidas e que fizeram a fama de Stefan, que ele procurava naquele momento. Era a determinação de desmoralizar o ex-companheiro de equipe perante o público de casa do belga. E desta vez a manobra não funcionou, porque o outro não cedeu.</p>

<p>As duas Porsche colidem a mais de 200 Km/h fundo da Eua Rouge. Ickx roda e bate com a traseira, Bellof não tem a mesma sorte, a Porsche dele bate de frente nos guard-rails que não tem como amenizar o impacto, pois estão encostados em muro maciço do barranco.</p>
<p>Stefan é socorrido de olhos abertos, mas em estado grave, a morte é declarada ao chegar ao Hospital, a Alemanha chora por um herói de 28 anos, que já estava com contrato assinado com a Ferrari e um futuro promissor pela frente.</p>

<title><![CDATA[2007 F1 World Championship: almost over!]]></title>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>It's been quite a year. McLaren attacked and fined by the FIA claiming they had access to Ferrari secrets - an Oxymoron if ever there was one. Revelations from Ferrari that things are only illegal when they are, err, discovered to be - so the illegal floor they used to gain an aerodynamic advantage with when winning in Australia was, err, not <em>really</em> illegal... hmm.</p>
<p>We had a new circuit layout at Spa - previously one of the world's most interesting, and feared, circuits of the year. Now the circuit has been totally neutered with the effective removal of the La Source hairpin and the construction of the Eau Rouge bypass and unsurprisingly Spa subsequently produced one of the year's most boring races because of these changes. Bernard, really!</p>
<p>For all the controversy though, we have had one of the closest years of racing ever. With just one race to go, we have three drivers who could all walk away with the Championship tomorrow. That would have been impossible during the Schumacher era - not because of Schumacher's on the track talent, which itself was prodigious when not under pressure, but because he always got contractual number one status, something that is actually illegal under the rules. It was never tested though despite many team mates, including both Johnny Herbert and Eddie Irvine, having confirmed this on record by saying there was no true sharing within the team. For instance, MS could take their car data and use it for himself, but they were prevented from using his. Rubens Barichello famously described himself as "Driver 1b" after he eventually realised which way the cookie always crumbled.</p>
<p>Ironic that this weekend the <strike>Max Mosley</strike> FIA <a href="http://fifthdecade.wordpress.com/2007/09/20/mclaren-max-mosley-the-man-from-ferrari-and-renault/">witch hunt against McLaren</a> demanded that an FIA scrutineer should sit on the McLaren pit all weekend to "ensure fair treatment for Alonso". This is after Alonso's outburst at the last GP in China where after qualifying he could not accept that he was beaten by rookie Hamilton, instead throwing a hissy fit and ripping a door off its hinges in the McLaren motorhome and shouting to the press that he had "received unfair treatment" which is his standard response to being beaten fair and square.</p>
<p>Of course, Alonso is dead against this. He has publicly said that he "doesn't think such a move is necessary." Of course he doesn't. If he is beaten this weekend, which seems not unlikely, he will not be able to claim he only lost because Hamilton got better treatment than him! Hoist by his own petard... but so Mediterranean. I've beaten people like that before: they can never accept someone else is better. And Hamilton is way better.</p>
<p>So, will Raikkonnen regret leaving McLaren? Will Alonso regret joining? Ron Dennis will probably regret signing him, the world's most expensive ever driver. Ferrari will probably regret their control of the FIA was so openly demonstrated this year. Max Mosley will probably come to regret many of his actions this year, not least of which will be his childish and self-belittling public attacks on three times World Drivers Champion and Grand Prix winning team chief Sir Jackie Stewart (now retired) when <a href="http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/63169">Mosley reportedly described dyslexic Stewart as a "certified half-wit" while at a lunch with journalists</a>.</p>
<p>The only man to probably have no regrets this weekend will be Hamilton. He may have been white hot molten iron previously, but he has now passed through the F1 mill of deceit, intrigue and politics, coming out as weapons grade forged steel. His reputation, at least, is secure.</p>
<p>And as Nietschze said "That which does not kill me makes me stronger."</p>

<p align="justify">Lo que no puedo hacer es empezar a hablar cada vez de lo que dicen los demás. En la salida intenté mantener la posición. Vi que Massa bloqueó un poco los neumáticos y tuve la esperanza de poder adelantarle. Pero luego se recuperó bien y no pude conseguirlo.</p>
<p align="justify">Luego <strong>intenté abrirme por la curva para tener una buena salida</strong>. <strong>Vi que Lewis iba por fuera</strong> y que<!--more--> <strong>en vez de soltar utilizó todo lo que no es circuito</strong>, lo que es para seguridad, <strong>utilizó la escapatoria de asfalto para seguir a tope y logró emparejarse conmigo</strong>.</p>
<p align="justify">A partir de ahí pensaba que tarde o temprano iba a dejarme pasar. Pensé que iba a soltar antes de 'Eau Rouge' para dejarme pasar y por eso seguí a tope. <strong>Puede que en la tele parezca espectacular, pero dentro del coche no fue nada del otro mundo</strong>. No hubo que hacer nada. Son cosas de la física y de la lógica. <strong>Si vas por fuera en 'Eau Rouge' tienes que soltar</strong>.</p>
<p align="justify">Sé que <strong>por desgracia esta salida va a ser mañana el tema de conversación</strong>. En Spa siempre hay problemas en la primera curva, que es de 180 grados. Esta vez estábamos más juntos que en otras carreras, en las que a lo mejor hemos arrancado segundo y cuarto o primero y tercero. <strong>Hemos tenido la mala suerte de que en la tele se viera más de lo que fue.</strong></p>
<p align="justify">Si estás a demasiados puntos necesitas ganar carreras y además esperar algo de los demás, como les sucede a los Ferrari, que necesitan ganar y esperar a que nosotros fallemos. <strong>Tengo la suerte de estar en una posición en la que dependo de mí mismo</strong>. <strong>Si sigo acabando delante del líder en las carreras que faltan puedo llevarme el gato al agua</strong>. Ha pasado la primera de las cuatro finales, pero quedan otras tres.</p>
<p align="justify"><strong>Kimi no está tan lejos.</strong> Hay que pensar que todavía quedan muchas carreras. Si cualquiera de los cuatro tenemos algún abandono se puede decir adiós al campeonato. <strong>Hoy ha recortado cinco puntos de una tacada</strong>. Estar a once puntos de mí a falta de tres carreras no es tanto. <strong>Hay que intentar ganar carreras, sobre todo cuando llegamos a circuitos favorables para nosotros</strong>.</p>
<p align="justify">Esto ha ido un poco por rachas. Al principio parecía del campeonato que <strong>t</strong>odo salía bien, a mitad parecía todo iba mal, y ahora parece que tenemos el viento a favor. <strong>Hay que tratar de aprovechar esta racha</strong>, esta tendencia de la clasificación. En la siguiente carrera hay que darlo todo otra vez.</p>
<p align="justify">Unas veces todo sale bien y otras sale todo mal. Francamente creo que en <strong>las seis o siete últimas carreras he tenido bastante suerte</strong>, he tenido todo de cara. <strong>En las nueve primeras Hamilton hizo nueve podios y ahí la suerte la tuvo él</strong>. En Mónaco incluso se tocó cinco o seis veces con el guardarraíl y acabó segundo... Ha sido un poco más por suerte y espero mantenerla yo hasta el final.</p>
<p align="justify"><strong>Todos los Mundiales se deciden por detalles</strong>. <strong>En 2005 se decidió por la poca fiabilidad de los McLaren-Mercedes; en 2006 se decidió por lo que pasó en Suzuka, cuando Michael rompió el motor.</strong>.. Y este año, a falta de tres carreras, no se puede hacer pronóstico alguno, ni acercarse. Cualquier cosa que se tuerza en un gran premio te puede hacer decir adiós al campeonato y eso nos puede suceder a cualquiera de los cuatro. <strong>Ojalá que no sea a mí</strong>".</p>
