This isn't a totally healthy recipe, there is sugar and chocolate chips in it, but I have changed the recipe around enough where it is a healthier recipe. This is a kid and husband friendly recipe that they will love. My kids looked forward to zucchini season just for this bread. With Easter in a few days, it is a great recipe to take to a family gathering. It makes one large, or three small loaves and freezes well. I got this recipe from a friend 22 years ago when my son was born. Zucchini bread and a glass of milk is healing on many different levels for a new mom!

Zucchini Bread: One and half cups of whole wheat flour, 1teaspoon cinnamon, 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg, 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg, 1/2 teaspoon baking soda, 1/4 teaspoon baking power, 1 cup sugar, One and a half cups of shredded zucchini (do not peel), 1 egg, 1/4 cup of unsweetened applesauce, 1 cup mini chocolate chips. Mix the wet ingredients in a mixer, then fold in the dry. Add the chips last. Pour into a bread pan, or three small bread pans and bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes (shorter for the smaller pans) or until a toothpick comes out clean.

Hi everyone,

With the Easter holiday coming so early this year, we had to get out some Easter Recipes, especially Easter Ham Glaze and a few others coming in the next few days. Stay tuned to our latest recipes by subscribing to our RSS Feed. Or we've recently set up the Latest Recipes menu in the Recipes section of our site. There you can view the 7 newest additions to the site and see a button for those recipes rolling through the RSS Feed (hint: you can click on it to sign up!).

I'd also like to discuss glazing hams before the holiday officially arrives, which is a popular tradition in many households who celebrate Easter. Usually the ham is cooked to whatever family tradition passed down to the chef du jour, and is one that has been used for a long time.

While I don't propose breaking family tradition of course, it'd be very easy to change up your style instead and throw some pizazz into that family tradition. How do you ask? Simple, we'll show you some tried and true methods for your old favorites and some new ideas for those of you bold enough to change it up!
