The GX-20 is robust enough for taking quality pictures in wet, sandy or dusty conditions. The special water-resistant and anti-dusting body sealing protects 72 different parts and the advanced Dual Dust Removal System included in the GX-20 also removes problematic particles from the sensor, resulting in perfect, blemish-free pictures with minimum effort on the part of the photographer.

With the one-touch RAW button, built into the GX-20, RAW file shooting is made simple and instantly available to users even during general JPEG shooting. The RAW files can be checked on the LCD and then be directly converted to JPEG format via the built-in converter.

With the GX-20, continuous shooting at 3 fps (frames per second) is possible; up to 9 fps; giving the user the best chance to get a great picture.

The GX20 boasts a 14.6 mega-pixel image sensor, which offers the photographer a sharper image with richer colours for a truly compelling composition. With its powerful built-in Optical Picture Stabilisation (OPS) technology, the GX-20 prevents blurred pictures by shifting the CCD to counter any movement of the camera’s body. Either you love digital and hate film, or you hate digital and love film. However, film and digital both have strong points that should be considered before ruling out either of them.

As an adult I have had more than my fair share of folks wondering whether I was gay or straight. I'm straight, but just barely. And by 'just barely' I mean that I do not tend to exhibit a sufficient quantity of those characteristics and qualities that so many Americans consider to be signs of straightness. But ask me if I care.

I've seen the sorts of men that those 'qualities' and 'characteristics' produce and I'd rather have none of it. I'm happy with who and what I am: a straight guy that can be and often is thought to be gay. I've come to think of it as a compliment.

One, remember that everything between you and the sun will be a silhouette. Whether it is palm trees, a human form or a man-made structure like a pier, you can use these to your advantage. If composed carefully, they can help make a run-of-the-mill sunset picture into a stunning sunset photograph. Two, look for the colors and cloud formations to continually change. Sunsets happen really fast when you are photographing them. It's as if the clock has sped up, so you have to work quickly. But you won't realize this is happening, especially the color changes, until you get back to your computer and edit the photos. So shoot a lot of pictures, you can always delete the extras later. Three, shoot handheld for maximum mobility. I often see photographers using tripods to shoot a sunset, but it isn't really necessary most of the time. I almost never use a tripod because it limits my movement. I like to be able to quickly move up, down, left, right or way over there. Also, sunsets are very bright. After all, you are shooting directly into the sun. Finally, keep shooting until well after the sun has set. If you stop too soon, you are likely to miss the grand finale, and it is usually awesome.

Many clients of mine in the past have asked me how do I get my prints to sell. First I give them the slew of tips and tid-bits I have learned over the past decade or so and then I usually dwell on niche marketing. Niche marketing is different than finding your niche and trying to capitalize on it. Niche marketing is the practice of targeting a specific market for your goods. Since as artists and photographers we have an endless supply of product in the form of prints and usually have a place to have those images printed (if you do not have a lab that does your printing check out my website FinerWorks which specializes in printing artwork and fine art photography for artists and photographers), it behooves us to focus on where to sell your prints. If you have read some of my previous advice about getting your work into galleries, a lot of the same principals apply. First make some prints you can show, the second is to focus on that niche.

One of my favorite recommendations came to me  when I was getting lost in the halls of a hospital. A family member was being treated and I took a wrong turn (or perhaps a right turn in this instance) which led me down a series of hallways decorated with large giclee prints of beautiful black and white prints printed on what appeared to a be a nicely textured fine art paper. While the photography was decent the impact of seeing all the wonderful prints had a certain calming and luring effect. I could not help but stop and admire some of the work.

Once I finally made my way out of the building it dawned on me that why not suggest this to some of my clients. A little further researched yielded that many medical facilities such as hospitals, clinics and retirement homes  are eager to decorate their walls. Some , especially new hospitals are eager to decorate their halls to get away from the stale antiseptic look usually associated with medical facilities. Many are also looking for work that reflects either some theme (say children in a pediatrics section) or local attractions that hi-light familiarity in a tasteful or artistic fashion. Some will also be looking for general imagery such as wildlife and landscape.

While I won’t go into detail as to how to best display your imagery such as size, type of frame or what information about you should be displayed I will say that it is not only a chance to get some decent exposure but also a chance to sell your work. Sometimes an intial investment will be required so that those that make the decisions can see a sample of your work m the fashion it will be displayed but if you thoughtfully seek out these sort of contracts it is not difficult to walk away with a nice paycheck at the end of the day.
