<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Any health care professional needs the skill to communicate with hearing impaired patients. Health care providers need an understanding of deaf culture as well as being familiar with the different ways to communicate with a hearing impaired patient. Some basic signs are imperative for health care providers.</p>
<p>Class is taught by Gibby Cates, nurse-midwife, with over 20 years experience in nursing. The class will meet on June 4, 2008 in the Tyner Auditorium at SHRS, cost is $35.  Call 864-592-4900 for more information.</p>
