BUTTERWORTH: Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has challenged his detractors to name the people who allegedly benefited from his position when he was deputy prime minister and finance minister.

“There was no such thing. If you know of the people who benefited, you should identify them. Do not just make claims,” he said.

The PKR leader, who is contesting the Permatang Pauh by-election, was asked to comment on his involvement in bumiputra policies when he was in the Federal Government and the award of projects without tenders.

Speaking to reporters during a break from his morning campaign yesterday, Anwar said bumiputra youths did not have any problem embracing a multiracial philosophy.

This is consistent with our goals towards securing a Parliamentary majority and forming a new government within this year.

This decision is the right decision for Malaysia.

The nation now faces some of the greatest challenges it has encountered since gaining independence. The UMNO-led Barisan Nasional government has mismanaged the economy and steered the nation towards a catastrophe. It has allowed the integrity of the justice system to fall into deeper infamy. It has stroked the flames of racism and driven a wedge of mistrust between Malays, Chinese and Indians, while thoroughly neglecting the needs of the indigenous peoples of
Sabah and Sarawak.

Anwar Ibrahim has articulated a vision for Malaysia that has brought hope to the people. He has the experience and intelligence to reinvigorate our economy, and the charisma and integrity to unite the Malaysian people and restore credibility to our institutions of governance.

I will continue to serve as president of Parti Keadilan Rakyat and as chairperson of the Yayasan Aman (Peace Foundation).

Very troubling reports have been published, which reveal the existence of a medical report of an examination done by a doctor on Mohd Saiful Bukhari bin Azlan a few hours before Saiful lodged a police report that he had been sodomised. The medical report apparently shows that there is no evidence that he had been sodomised by anyone.

Such reports raise some very serious questions that require immediate answers:

(1) Are the police in possession of such a medical report?
(2) Was the doctor concerned interviewed by the police and was he detained for any length of time?
(3) Is the doctor concerned facing any form of intimidation and if so, by whom?
(4) Is there a medical report by another doctor that either confirms or contradicts the first medical report?
(5) If it is true that the medical report exists showing a lack of prima facie evidence, what then could have been the justification for the vigorous actions taken against Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim as well as the public call by the authorities for his DNA sample?

The answers to these questions are of paramount importance, as they bring into focus the integrity of our law enforcement system.

These latest disclosures regarding the investigations into the sodomy allegations are not the only ones to raise questions that need answering. There is, for example, also the issue of P. Balasubramaniam's abrupt "disappearance" that has yet to be satisfactorily explained. No one can deny that the circumstances of his first and second statutory declarations are highly unusual. All these show a pattern of events that cause much disquiet to right-thinking members of the public.

The Malaysian people are deeply troubled. A country that truly believes in the rule of law should not be faced with so many disturbing developments and unanswered questions.

The credibility of the Malaysian justice system as a whole is therefore at stake. The integrity of professionals, be they doctors or lawyers, must never be interfered with. The public must be left in no doubt that the criminal justice system in this country will not be misused or abused. There must be nothing less than an open and thorough investigation into these cases. This calls for the courage and professionalism of all those involved to do the right thing no matter the consequences. And those who have shown such courage and integrity must know that they live in a country where it is safe to do so.

The latest addition reports that in April, AiG served CMI with a lawsuit in the United States trying to stop the legal action in Australia--even though one of the two contracts AiG is trying to enforce specifies the law of the Australian state of Victoria as the governing law and forum. CMI will be defending itself in the U.S. against the new action."

The date of the lawsuit trial has yet to be set up and all ready these two corrupt organizations are setting the stage for a major downfall of their own organizations and ultimately the so-called modern creation movement brought on by their mentor, the late, not-so-great Henry Morris.

Many people detest Fox News, but here's a real, real, real good reason to really detest Fox News even more and settle for CNN! Like SC, I, too watch Fox News and have the mute button as well. Honestly, there are some channels on TV that's not worth watching and it looks like Fox News will be one of them! More and more channels are airing just garbage like on TVLand, MTV, GSN, Nickelodeon, and Cartoon Network and it looks like Fox News may now be one of them. It's like, whatever happened to good ol' fashion programming we grew up watching, like C.O.P.S., Smurfs, He-Man and the Masters of the Universe (80s' and 2002 version), and Voltron (the true blue original, not that 3d crap World Events Productions should've never made)? Oh well, at least there's Youtube, Hulu, Joost, and DVD boxsets of old favorites to be content with.

KUALA LUMPUR, JULY 4 (Bernama) -- Private investigator P.Balasubramaniam Friday retracted all statements that he had made about Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak's alleged involvement with Mongolian Altantuya Shaariibuu in his statutory declaration dated July 1.

"I wish to retract the entire contents of my statuutory declaration dated July 1 2008. I was compelled to affirm the said statutory declaration under duress," he said in his new statutory declaration dated Friday.

Speaking through his lawyer, M.Arulampalam, Balasubramaniam told reporters that the statements contained in his previous statutory declaration was inaccurate and not the truth.

The new statutory declaration states:

"I wish to expressly state that at no material time did (Abdul) Razak (Abdullah) Baginda inform me that he was introduced to Altantuya Shaaribu by a VIP and at no material time did Razak Baginda inform me that Datuk Seri Najib had a sexual relationship with Altantuya Shaaribu and that she was susceptible to anal intercourse.

"At no material time did Razak Baginda inform me that Datuk Seri Najib instructed Razak Baginda to look after Altantuya Shaaribu as he did not want her to harass him since he was the Deputy Prime Minister.
