Mengenai kelanjutan post sebelumnya, tokoh2 HM kayaknya mesti dipending dulu deh, soalnya lg mikir juga sifat karakteristik tokoh yang lain, sedangkan yang keluar malah ide lain yg udah ngantri, cuma nunggu yg satu ini. Karena kelamaan ya udah yg laen aja dulu, post HM ditunda dulu ampe gw tau betul karakteristik yg laen secara mendalam.
Btw, gw mo cerita nih.
Adobe Photoshop CS Anyar (Baca: Creative Suite Three Extended):
Proses inisialisasi berlangsung cepat cuma sekitar 6 detik. dalem hati ya iyalah, interfacenya sederhana banget, dan spek komputer gw intel core 2 duo 2GHz, RAM 2GB, HD SATA (baca: lumayan bertenaga gitu loh :P ).

Groups of Adobe InDesign users have created communities around the World dedicated to sharing and growing within the InDesign environment. Themed meetings revolve around topics such as Transparency Effects and Applications, XML for Designers, and Text Control and Styles. The groups present in a variety of delivery methods, from informative lectures to Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? styled games. InDesign User Group members are often the first to see and experience new products, such as the recently released Creative Suite 3. Whether new to InDesign or an expert user, IDUG meetings are a valuable resource for learning, experiencing, networking and sharing all things InDesign. Join or visit a group near you; get information or sign up online at www.indesignusergroup.com.
More than you think! Due to my working almost every day over the last few weeks, I have saved enough

More than you think! Due to my working almost every day over the last few weeks, I have saved enough to buy some of the toys... ahem, tools... that I am going to use with my business. Now, originally, I had this pretty good idea how I was going to approach my website initially. I had decided to get an Ecommerce hosting package from 1&1; they cover setting up the financial portions of your site as well as providing you with templates to build the pages. Then, after my profits reached the level to warrant upgrade, I was going to go to a scratch-built webpage and all. However, after talking with my dad (who is a 1&1 customer), I realized that it would be cheaper in the long run to start off with a custom webpage. So... it looks like the official site should be up and running by October-ish.

To do this, I needed some fairly hefty design tools (ala Adobe Creative Suite 3 Web Premium), which was $499.99 academic priced. I saved and I saved, and now I am the proud owner of graphic design software so powerful that it gives you goosebumps. And, thanks to a cash investment from one of our subscribers (you know who you are... and I am eternally grateful for your generosity) I was able to also afford a Wacom Intuos3 (http://www.wacom.com/intuos/6x8.cfm). If that isn't enough to make you make you wet your pants, I don't know what is. So yeah, I just spent like $900 in the last 2 days, but my buyer's remorse hasn't kicked in yet (haha). Much too excited...

Other than that, not much else is going on. Still not totally sure if I'm going to be able to get any designs into production by mid July, but I'm going to try. It really depends on how much capital I have available at that time. I should say that I have at least 1 or 2 designs finished, I just need to make sure that I can afford to produce them. My dad is getting somewhat closer to finishing our basement, and that will give me my production space. I've got most of my equipment picked out, and every day I'm discovering more products that I can design/produce. Man, I so can't wait! I've got ideas out the wa-zoo! The issue I'm running into now is how to address the sale of jeans and such over the web. As I have been informed by the various females in my life, trying on a pair of jeans before purchasing them is vitally important... probably up there with talking, congregating in the bathroom, and owning more shoes than days of the week. So, I'm stuck with a bunch of cool jean ideas and really no way of selling them, because I lack a physical location. I guess that part of my business will have to wait until we expand. Ah well. Of course, you guys could also just buy thousands of my products so I can afford to buy a building...

Finally, the subscriber ranks are growing (albeit slowly) for this blog. We're up to 11 regular subscribers and an average of about 5 views a day. Tell your friends and family so that together, we can conquer the fashion world and put Omaha on the map as the new center for trendy and cutting-edge style *cue end of shameless self-promoting plug* Kidding aside, my hearty thanks to those of you who are regularly keeping track of what's going on and offering me feedback. I really appreciate all of it. It's encouraging to me to see that there are other people out there who are supportive and look forward to seeing me get this business off the papers and into reality. It does wonders for one's confidence.

A lot of people were, and probably still are, drooling over Adobe’s new cavalcade of updated p

A lot of people were, and probably still are, drooling over Adobe's new cavalcade of updated programs in the third edition of their Creative Suite. We were lucky enough to snag a demo copy of the master collection at work and I'm testing out most of the programs for when we upgrade to Leopard. The disks were $29 or so, but that saves the trouble of having to download over 10 GB of crap from one set of servers. Makes my head hurt just thinking about it. The suite is nice, and thusfar mostly bug-free. Here's a breakdown of what I have taken out on the road for a spin.

Unfortunately our administrator prior to our current guy didn't keep up with technology trends as much as Tony and I do, so needless to say accounting was shocked when we walked in with a quote for $40k to upgrade all the computers and load them with the new OS and productivity software. They nearly shat themselves.

ADOBE ACROBAT 8

Already a better fit that our previous version of Acrobat 6 - yes, we missed a version and broke a cardinal sin of computing. Shame on us. Integration with Office 2004 is seamless. No more hunting for that elusive PDF Printer to save a Word file as a PDF. Yes, you can tell it to print and save as a pdf from there, but having a button to do that is so much better. Acrobat 8 is a great solution if your company has a multitude of forms to go through online. Adobe has built in collaboration solutions to Acrobat so that people can draft and edit work done in a PDF and even send automated emails containing the PDF to be edited. Definitely noteworthy in the world of GTD.

ADOBE BRIDGE

I don't use this program that much, but maybe I should. With all of the websites that I work on, I find it easier to just go look on the server through the local mount on my dekstop rather than keep up with the meta data in Bridge or Apeture (which is another wonderful application for you hardcore photographers out there with a Mac - yes, it's an Adobe app). Bridge would be very useful, however, if you were the photographer of a project and had a ton of photos to keep track of from a certain shoot, or if you are the OCD type that can't bear to delete any photos because you might need it in some obscure way 20 years down the road.... you never know, right? Right? Right.

The app itself, like all the other CS3 apps, got a nice facelift. For those of you that use Apeture, Bridge is a slimmed down version of your favorite program. The upside - not as much of a memory or cpu hog. Metadata can be used for virtually any aspect of a photo you can think of. I haven't tinkered with it enough to know if you can add Smart Albums to automatically add photos based on metadata tags, but that would be nice.

For instance, say you take 200 shots of the company picnic and you are in charge of putting the album together for sale or blackmail purposes. Load all of your photos in Bridge and start categorizing them according to the metadata - 09/07/07, Company Picnic, Bob from Accounting drunk and chasing people with a spatula yelling Hallo! My name is Inigo Montoia! You killed my father, prepare to die! Ok, extreme example, but the baseline is that you can add anything that will help keep track of your photos. And later, just search for something easy: Bob drunk picnic returned 67 results. Go Bob.

ADOBE DREAMWEAVER

This is my bread and butter. Being a web designer and developer, this is a MUST HAVE. Other people have their preferences for other web editing tools but Dreamweaver tops the list for me. I have yet to find another editor that I prefer to this. The biggest edition to DW8 is the Spry Assets panel - dynamic content focused on javascript and CSS to make your site move more toward Web 2.0 - and it's pretty. All the times you've had to search the net for a collapsing menu that you like? Gone. How about a tabbed section for a gallery page? Gone. It's all included. For each Spry asset that you include, DW8 creates the appropriate .js and .css files in a separate folder. What's better is that as new assets are made, new files are made as well. No digging through one gigantic stylesheet to find one element. The code also makes sense, and the commenting is beyond amazing. There will be no question as to what something in the code does - it's like having a man page for every element. To see some great Spry examples, visit Adobe Labs.

ADOBE FLASH

Here's a touchy subject among web developers - to flash or not to flash? No not in the trenchcoat sense! We're talking about the movie-like content you see so many times in banners and annoying iPod nano ads. Like everything else on the web, Flash has its place. For photo galleries, you can't go wrong. Make an entire site in flash just because you can and you think it looks cool, probably not the best idea, bud. Flash takes longer to load on a page and can either help or hurt your efforts, so use wisely.

The interface and timeline is the same as Flash 8, and there aren't many major improvements that I can see right off. The Actions tab has been improved to hold more than one element in its history, so switching back and forth from button to button to make sure the code matches up won't be an issue. If you have a request for a high-end website and dynamic content, a tasteful flash banner/nav menu can go a long way. Just don't go overboard.

ADOBE ILLUSTRATOR

Vectors, vectors, vectors, vectors! Look at any new web 2.0 tutorial and I guarantee that somewhere you'll see a vector in a logo or somewhere in the mix. Life becomes easy again and pixelation is a thing of the past since a vector is basically a mathematical map of all the coordinates in an illustration. If you are working in Creatives or logo design, this is definitely a tool for you.

ADOBE FIREWORKS

With the birth of CS3 came the death of ImageReady. We have numerous requests from Realtors to make animated gifs of their property shots, and of course we comply. ImageReady was a fantastic tool for importing multiple photos as frames for a gif to be saved for the Web. Now, Photoshop can sort of do the same thing, but it's somewhat of a hassle. Plus, once you save the gif and close your file in Photoshop, you can't go back and edit it. Fireworks, however, is much easier to use for animated gifs and will reopen a file in all its framed entirety in case you forget a photo. Definite props.

ADOBE PHOTOSHOP

The fat-daddy of them all. All hail the King of photo manipulation and graphic design. The best image editing app out there bar-none. All of your favorite aspects of Photoshop CS2 with some added extras, mainly focused on aesthetics. The tools toolbar has been slimmed down to 1 column, and your attribute windows - text, brushes, history, actions, etc - are also in a 1-column set on the right side of the canvas. Full-screen mode gives the toolbars a hard black background and blocks out anything behind so you can concentrate solely on your current project/tutorial. Processing time for droplet actions and batch processing is literally cut in half.

Since the day I upgraded my PC to a Windows Vista Ultimate PC few issues were always on with my syst

Since the day I upgraded my PC to a Windows Vista Ultimate PC few issues were always on with my system. During the installation of Vista itself, I faced my first Genuine® Windows Error Messages - one that I don't remember now.

Anyhow, my Vista experience wasn't bad. I enjoyed the migration to Vista more than my migration to Windows XP. And so it went on. In the past seven months, I installed a horde of softwares, tools, games, what else and what not; uninstalled the ones I didn't use much or the ones that were there for hobbies sake everytime I ran short of HDD space. So that's that. Somehow, a few problems became a fixture. These were:

Internet Explorer 7 used to crash the moment it was launched.

Nero 7 Trial never progressed after the "Ask Toolbar" selection.

I could not burn DVDs. No matter what tool I used, I would get some error.

To add to this, yesterday morning my Adobe CS3 Design Premium license failed. The software asked me to reinstall the product or contact my IT Administrator. Frustrated, I uninstalled my CS3 installation and attempted a reinstall on which I was requested by CS3 to insert the CS3 Media in the drive, which was already there. And now I was scared that I am in for some mighty trouble, involving a lot of my time.

Anyhow, it had to be solved.

So I started with my research, fired up FireFox did some Google search and came up with references of two tools - the MSI Installation Database Clean Up Utility (msiccu.exe) from Microsoft and the CS3Clean.exe utility from Adobe.

Installed the MSI clean up utility and ran it. Boy! I was amazed. So many applications I had already uninstalled were still listed there. I selected them all and uninstalled them. Next ran the CS3Clean.exe with the option 4 selected a couple of times and voila! my CS3 setup was good to go!

Spent 4 hrs in total and solved the CS3 issue. Also, my Internet Browser works wonders now (not that I use it, yet). I could not install Nero 7 but I have installed the Nero 8 Trial. Bah! I need moneh!

Somehow, I cant burn DVDs yet... No possible error - maybe its time to restart my system :D

Oops I almost forgot to do that. Sure, I should do it now. He He... But the MSICCU tool is recommended to every windows user... geez.. you'll be shocked, if you've been using your system for a long time.

Also, my system is working far faster than it was working earlier...

And this is just In:

I volunteered for a responsibility at college and took the help of about 10 friends in the industry working in HR profiles to complete a document layout. Finally the college students utilizing the extra-ordinary "beliefs" of students from the senior batch and some 2-3 years work experience holding students from the junior batch have completely redrawn the aforementioned document. So much for having professionals with about 7-10 years of industry experience. What scares me is - I forced these people to compromise with their important business schedules to help me, now if they genuinely enquire about how their efforts have helped me, what do I tell them?

Anyhow, these are just my woes from a non-existent meritocracy, and there is no dearth of people cribbing against the system (like minded people :D).

Could you make out what the post heading was all about?

I need help.

Staremo a vedere.
