 I have a cat.  A psychotic cat.  A cat who will not let me go into the bathroom by myself.  I think she's afraid that I'm going to somehow hurt myself.  Which actually brings up a funny story. 

One day I went into the bathroom with a cat underfoot, and I asked her (yes, I talk to my animals) if I needed supervision.  She looked at me as if to say "of course you do."  I proceeded to to step into the garbage can.  I said ow, my husband laughed hysterically. 

Anyway, when I do close the door all I hear at the door are furious, furry beatings on the door.  Since my husband works during the day, I can usually do everything that I do in the morning with the door open.  This appeases the cat, and doesn't freak me out when I hear the noises at the door.

So, one day I'm in the shower minding my own business.  The cat had been in the bathroom with me when I got into the shower, therefore I expected her to be there when I got out. 

Yeah, she was still in the bathroom with me.  Hell, she was in the shower with me.  And she appeared to have no problems with getting wet.  I on the other hand, did have a problem with a cat sitting in the shower with me and staring at me.  Maybe I need to learn to shower with a swim suit on? 

Whoever says that cats don't like water, is a liar and must meet my cat.

I love my cats. But sometimes I wonder about those balls of fluff and claw.

Example, my cat Queenie. Normally, I don’t let cats in my room because I have breakable stuff. I changed my mind because we still have a mouse or two running around. Anyway, I was sleeping when she apparently caught one and jumped up on my bed with it.. She wanted to give me a gift. A gift of a dead mouse. When I noticed it, I just about jumped on a chair and squealed in terror. Yeah, on occasion I act like the girl I am.

Eww. At least I didn’t lay over or sit on it. Thank the heaven for little blessings, I guess.

As much speed as I could muster at 12 in the morning, I stripped everything off my bed. I am washing every single bed item I can.

Note to cats: If you want to give your human a gift, we prefer chocolate.

Cranky cat

 Vijay, our adorable 2-year-old DSH, has developed this habit of attacking guests to our house. For the first 18 months, he was more than happy to sleep or play in their company but now - almost on sight - his whole nature changes. He hisses, swipes, and when he gets the chance, separates the guest/s from the rest of the party and launches a full scale attack. The second the guests have left our unit, he's back to normal.

We've changed his diet slightly, from red meat at night to chicken and fish and it seems to have made a slight difference - but just when you think he's OK, he'll take a chunk of skin out of a guest.

Short of drugging him when we have guests - which is something we really don't want to do - our only option is to lock him up with his toys and food in the laundry. 

Does anyone out there have any ideas?
