First major SCWC*Irvine update

The SCWC*LA 6 (in Irvine) -- maybe we should just call it "Lirvine" -- area of the site has just been updated. Got some exciting new folk aboard as well as many regulars in rotation. Plenty more still to be announced, of course, however I'm soliciting suggestions for topics and genres anybody's interested in. Please post 'em here.

One little FYI is that due to Andrea Portes' unfortunate inability to attend SD22, she's back to make up for it. Hopefully this time I won't douse her with a magnum of champagne. I prefer to save that for Sally when she's wearing a linen pant suit.

CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

For consideration as a speaker or poster presenter, please email abstracts to abstracts@allislandenergy.org ASAP. Decisions about participation will be made on the basis of abstracts, so please ensure that sufficient detail is included. There is no fixed limit on abstract length, but a minimum length of 500 words is recommended. Full papers are accepted at this stage. Abstracts can be submitted as MS Word or Abobe PDF documents.

Successful applicants will be notified shortly afterwards.

Thanks for coming along to the Challenge of Sustainability 2008 and making the day a success! The conference drew over 60 attendees and we are already looking forward to the Challenge of Sustainability 2009. Thanks especially to our speakers, sponsors and organisers.

HOW TO GET TO DUNDALK IT (DkIT)

The three main early morning public transport options to Dundalk are:

Bus Eireann from Dublin/Dublin Airport/Drogheda (see printed timetables)
Mathews Bus from Dublin/Drogheda (see printed timetables)
Irish Rail from Bray/Dublin/Drogheda (see printed timetables)

A detailed map of the DkIT Campus and information about getting to DkIT is available here. More information to follow.

Those attendees who may be looking for a car-share to Dundalk can feel free to post offers of or requests for transport below. No responsibility at all is taken by the organisers for these arrangements but we will do our best to monitor all posts!

SOLAR ENERGY SOCIETY OF IRELAND MEETING

The Challenge of Sustainability 2008 will host a meeting of the Solar Energy Society of Ireland (SESI) on Friday June 20th 2008. More information will be published together with the programme of the conference soon.
