I have doing a lot of thinking again and that has confused me to the core .

i hate situations where i cant decide , where I cannot think of what to do in the future .Guess future is my greatest fear ...I am scared to face the days ahead , as the thought brings u face to face with the  uncertainity of life .

sleepin a lot (almost the whole day)

writing good code (which no body else can write ...)

read novels and prob write one in the future (the uncertainity looms large here ...)

Every summer I have a CD that I listen to relentlessly. I play them so much that come August, I can't stand to listen to it one more time. But I like that, because then whenever I do get around to listening to it again, I can only think of is that summer. In 2005, it was Coldplay's X&Y, 2006 was Nelly Furtado's Loose, 2007 was David Gray's New Day at Midnight and this summer was a mixed CD of John Mayer songs. Now despite the fact that I have a set CD for each summer, there are two songs that will forever be my summer songs: Bob Seger's Night Moves and Fleetwood Mac's Gypsy.

Whenever I hear a Bob Seger song all I can think about is how I want to have sex in a car, but specifically Night Moves, because it's a classic and all about teenage nookie. VH1 played that music video a lot when I was a kid and my mom always used it as an example of what I wasn't allowed to watch, but of course I did. And as soon as I was able to figure out what Night Moves was all about, I fell in love with it. There is something so innocently sexy about it. I never got to have sex in a car in highschool, or college for that matter, so this song always makes me want to live out my frustrated teenage dreams. Can't you just see yourself driving down some country highway, pulling over and turning this song up really loud and going at it? I know I can. Who wants to make this happen?

Fleetwood Mac's Gypsy is very much a favorite of mine. I've always had a thing for Fleetwood Mac, how can you deny the awesome voice of Stevie Nicks? Gypsy will forever remind me of driving home at 4 am down empty streets in Cary. The street lights running down Penny Road slightly resemble a landing strip at an airport, so they felt like they were guiding me home as I blasted Gypsy with the windows down. Summer always treated me well there.

I'll listen to these songs year round, but come summer, they stick out; they're quintessential.

But for right now, well, I'm in a Bill Withers mood, so he and I are off to build those sandcastles in the sky. Have a fantastic weekend. <3 Shro

My favorite song is actually the lead track, Life in Technicolor.  It's instrumental, rich in sound and it's building, driving melody resonates within me.  This is the kind of music I like to listen to.  Words can simply mess up a song sometimes.

Other than that, I give the entire CD eight thumbs up out of ten.

I know that some people think that it's a bit of a cop out to do cover songs to backing tracks, but I always find a use in everything I attempt in music. I really want to improve my production skills. It's ok to record all the right bits for your song, but if the mix isn't produced properly, then all that work means very little.

I've recently been trying to match the vocal production in the last few songs, to the original songs. I think it's made a big difference in the result, and it's teaching me how to produce my own voice in relation to the different types of music.

I've used a vocal boost on this one. Plus low to moderate plate reverb in the verses. Chorus and a heavier plate reverb in the chorus.

Here it is. Viva la vida.

My total video views have done it! They've broken the quarter of a million views. All of this within a year of posting my first video. At the last check, the number stood at 254,512.

Oh! I could talk about Viva La Vida.  That's a pretty good album, from the snatches I could hear over the sounds of food cooking in the kitchen.  My mom has fallen in love with Coldplay and finally (finally!) decided to buy the CD.  I swear, it took her weeks (has it even been out that long?) to finally buy it, although, in her defense, it was hard to find for a while.

Anyway, it's pretty good.  Very strange, but hey, that's Coldplay.  Some songs would be very, very mellow and slow and relaxing.  And then, all of a sudden, here comes this faster song (nowhere near Dragonforce-fast, mind you, but fast for Coldplay) with what I can only identify as an electric guitar (Coldplay?!? Electric Guitar?!?) and it makes for a very pleasant and eclectic album.  Very experimental in my mind.  My favorite song is still the title song, "Viva La Vida", but it's the only one I've heard in it's entirety.

Hey, not bad for nothing to say.

I'm liking this. The biggest thing I've done today is to get off my couch, grab my wallet and purchase tickets to the upcoming Beck concert online. Yeah! So excited about this. Tickets were not too bad, either. The end result was a $100 hit on my wallet for two tickets, one of which is for a friend who will be paying me back. That's more than I can say for Coldplay, G and I wanted to go but quickly reassessed the situation after finding out that two tickets (after fees, etc.) would cost us $250. Holy crap. $250!!!! You're kidding me. I can think of several better things to do for $250. Really. Come on Coldplay. Give your fans a break here. But I digress...

The real point here is my robe-ness (is that a word?) at what is now 2:56 pm in the afternoon. I'm honestly rarely lazy, so we'll see how long this lasts before I burst out of my robe, start behaving like a tornado and begin to drive G crazy complaining about feeling worthless for lack of doing anything productive today.

Why do I feel this way? Why do I so often feel compelled to constantly be "getting things done" and "keeping things in order"? Why can't I just relax in my damn robe and eat munchies and watch bad movies without the inevitable self-annoyance that always creeps in just when I'm finally getting around to genuinely relaxing?

Hopefully, today I can. I'm giving it my all, and if I do absolutely nothing at least I can say I did this little blog post. I only wish I had a pint of ice cream in the freezer...or some cookies.

Roofus up there brings up some good points. In terms of hip-hop, there are some wasteful-ass dudes. Look at broke-ass Scott Storch. And he used to use this as his Christmas cards:

And dude is white, so in hip-hop, is the problem minorities don't know how to manage money or is it the nature of the beast? Side question: can a minority become wealthy without being labeled a sell-out (whiter)?

They released their new album, Viva La Vida. Have downloaded 2 songs from their album, and both are awesome. The guy, Chris Martin, their lead singer, has an awesome voice. And his wife, the talented and beautiful Gwyneth Paltrow, is a lucky woman. It's like having Madonna as your wife :) Then there's this band, NickelBack.

Their lead singer, Chad Kroeger, has great vocals as well. A true rock star's vocals. This song by them, Rockstar, is totally kickass. I couldn't believe I didn't have it on my hard drive. Just downloaded it, and got all grungy :)

Next week's going to be very eventful. Karan's coming back, Kanav's coming back, Kabir's coming back - The three Ks. Ritish and all would be coming back as well. Then the week after that or something, I go to Delhi, and FINALLY get my new phone. Meenu's leaving for the US on 11th, so that means approx. 2 1/2 months alone at home with Mom and Dad. I need to make the most of this time though, cause when she comes back, the BIG sis is going to accompany her back, and well life's going to get tougher. Jiju is not coming sadly, that's a let down. I am pretty sure that next year, before I go off to college or join work, I am going to visit them in the USA. I definitely deserve to go abroad, what with all the excitement I have always had to go to the USA and the UK. Now that Kanav and Karan are going to be in London and maybe Gupta would be studying there as well. I am guessing it's going to be a lot of fun. My preferences keep changing everyday about what college I want to go to. Now the list reads

moi, j'ai assisté à quelques spectacles, mais j'en ai manqué plus d'un auquels je tenait, comme charles aznavour et nofx. stars et feist, au parc de la francophonie a été une véritable fête. le groupe de soft rock romantique stars nous a adoucit avec ses ballades et ses hymnes à l'amour et à la vie, tout en nous lançant des fleurs. les chansons your ex lover is dead, calendar girl, ou set yourself on fire on rendues le public fébrile. feist, la charmante et sympathique chanteuse, connue pour sa chanson 1234, entres autres, nous a tous conquit en cette soirée du 5 juillet. déjà que je l'admirais et que j'appréciais franchement sa musique, elle m'a fait frissonner avec ses douces ballades tout droit sorties de son coeur, comme the water ou so sorry et ses chansons plus dynamiques, comme my moon, my man, mushaboom ou i feel it all.

le 7 juillet, je suis allée sur les plaines voir flower power, groupe du québec qui fait des reprises des succès des années hippies et du mouvement peace and love. allant de california dreaming de mamas and the papas, à revolution des beatles, aux doors, en passant par pink floyd, les rolling stones et bob dylan. même si je n'était pas née, l'énergie d'un temps de révolution, de manifestations, de musique psychédélique m'a parcourue et j'ai adoré l'expérience.

j'ai également assisté au spectacle de bonjour brumaire et dumas, au pigeonnier encore une fois, ce fut une soirée magique. je ne connaissais pas bonjour brumaire, mais j'ai été renversée par leur simplicité et leur talent. bien que le public était peu nombreux, la prestation intime fut excellente. dumas, quand à lui, ouf! je ne connaissais que peu son répertoire. mais la folie, l'énergie et le dynamisme singulier dont il a fait preuve m'ont complètement mise par terre. moi qui pensait que dumas n'était qu'un chanteur de musique douce pour matantes, j'ai reçu l'une de ces gifle! runnings blancs aux pieds, il s'est démené toute la soirée pour nous faire vivre une superbe expérience, mais il n'avait même pas à le faire, c'était conquis d'avance. le public était à ses pieds! avec fougue et intensité, il nous a interprèté ses chansons les plus aimées, comme les secrets, j''erre, vénus, au gré des saisons, alors alors, ou tu m'aime ou tu ments. à couper le souffle, tout simplement.

finalement, je me suis gâtée en m'offrant une soirée punk à souhait, avec les français guerilla poubelle, xavier caféïne et les vulgaires machins. l'atmosphère était gonflée à bloc, révoltée. xavier caféïne vint réchauffé la place déjà brûlante avec ses chansons pop-rock. les notes de la fin du monde fut bien des heureux. quant aux vulgaires machins, qui détiennent un public fidel et adhèrant à leur cause, l'heure était aux retrouvailles. puit sans fond, aimer le mal, cocaïnoman, être un comme, compter les corps furent, pour ne nommer que ceux-ci, des hymnes dénociateurs entonnés en coeur par les fans, poings en l'air, révolte dans les yeux. on sentait un fort goût de justice.

bref, mon expérience personnelle de cette année fut mémorable. pour 20$, j'estime que ce n'est pas cher payé pour tant de diversité et de qualité.
