“I think the best way to go about a bully is to go directly at him.”

Mr. Gibbs makes this comment in referring to Bill O'Reilly of Fox News. The Obama campaign feels they are being bullied by O'Reilly.

http://thepage.time.com/2008/05/15/gibbs-bill-oreilly-is-a-bully/

It is interesting in light of the bulling, threatening, and attacking tactics of the Obama campaign and its supporters and surrogates.

I guess Barack Obama's communications chief's advice maybe stolen from the Larry play book. After all, Obamanots and Obama blogonots and surrogates such as Andres W. Lopez, Public Citizens Litigation Group, Daily Kos etc... have tried to bully me into submission for a couple of months now. Funny, I keep going DIRECTLY AT THOSE BULLY'S, and have been from day one.

Mr. Gibb's, can I ask if you would advise your candidate to face me directly, face to face without his teleprompter to speak from? Come on, you people talk about not having anything to hide, you are transparent, you represent a "new" type of politics. What are you, Axelrod and Obama scared of?

Mr. Gibbs, did Barack Obama decide to go directly at Donald Young? You remember him don't you, the gentleman who was killed in December 2007 after informing me he and Obama were intimate with each other?

What about Barack Obama smoking Crack Cocaine in November 1999? Is Barack bulling people to get out of having to address this?

This breaks down the Obama Bullying real well I think

Two years after Megan Meier committed suicide Lori Drew, age 49, was indicted for her alleged role in Meier's death.

In an earlier blog I wrote:

In 2006 a Missouri teenager hanged herself after being rejected by a 16 year old boy she met on MySpace. Well, at least that’s what she thought. The reality was the “16 year old boy” was really the mother of one of the girls former friends.

The motive? It seems the mother was allegedly trying to exact revenge on Meier, who had allegedly dissed her daughter. This sick, twisted and childish choice took and emotional toll on a young person who was emotionally vulnerable and cost her - her life!

The earlier blog is presented in full here.

According to a CNN report -

Drew faces up to 20 years in prison on charges of conspiracy and accessing protected computers to obtain information to inflict emotional distress.

The indictment, which was filed in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles, accuses Drew and others of registering on MySpace as "Josh Evans" and using the account to lure Meier into an an online romance.

Authorities have previously said that Drew set up the account to find out what Meier, who lived in her neighborhood, was saying about her daughter.

Lori Drew of O’Fallon, Missouri, was named in a four-count indictment returned this morning by a federal grand jury. The indictment charges one count of conspiracy and three counts of accessing protected computers without authorization to obtain information to inflict emotional distress on the girl who,
because of juvenile privacy rules, is referred to in the indictment only as M.T.M.

After approximately four weeks of flirtatious communications between “Josh Evans” and M.T.M., Drew and her co-conspirators broke off the relationship. Within an hour, M.T.M. had hanged herself in her room. She died the next day. “This adult woman allegedly used the Internet to target a young teenage girl, with horrendous ramifications,” said United States Attorney Thomas P. O’Brien. “After a thorough investigation, we have charged Ms. Drew with criminally accessing MySpace and violating rules established to protect young, vulnerable people. Any adult who uses the Internet or a social gathering website to bully or
harass another person, particularly a young teenage girl, needs to realize that their actions can have serious consequences.”

MYSPACE RULES: It seems that to become a member of MySpace, individuals are required to submit registration information – including name and date of birth – and have to agree to certain TOS that regulate their use of the website. Among other things, the MySpace TOS require prospective members to provide truthful and accurate registration information; to refrain from using any information obtained from MySpace services to harass, abuse, or harm other people; to refrain from soliciting personal information from anyone under 18; to refrain from promoting information that they know is false or misleading; and to refrain from posting photographs of other people without their consent. The indictment alleges that Drew and her coconspirators violated all of those provisions.

The indictment, while not a conviction, alleges that the defendant - Drew - did commit a crime. Characterized as "cyber-bullying" the actions that have not been disputed show a pattern of abuse and a clear violation of the terms of MySpace.

Ron Meier, Megan's father, watched television newscasts announcing the indictment and was overcome with emotion

"It's a a good day," he said. "It’s an awesome feeling.”

He said now he expects the Drews to feel some of the pain and suffering "that I’m going to feel for the rest of my life, not having Megan here."

COMMENTS:

Ron Meier's comments are understandable. However, every choice has a consequence and healing can't truly take place until the negative emotions are dealt with. Revenge, hatred, anger - whatever is felt may be justifiable on one hand. Yet, emotions that have a negative base will not move one forward. They are not the foundation for positive results.

As a speaker to youth and parents alike about social networking - mostly MySpace and Facebook, etc. - I have the opportunity to help folks understand how to effectively us the tools without becoming a victim of them.

The Meier's have suffered a terrible loss - a senseless loss - yet, across the board there were more people involved in what took place than just Megan or Drew. As parents, if we want to protect our children, we must understand the playing field of social networking and help to monitor what is taking place and bring understanding and order to MySpace and other forms of internet communication. It is too easy to take on a role that can have a terrible consequence.

Every choice has a consequence. Lori Drew and others will soon be finding out the consequences of their actions. No - there is nothing that can be done to bring Megan back. However, the choices that are made now can bring meaning and value to her death.

For now, teen ethics speaker - Chuck Gallagher - signing off...

Okay, I'm exaggerating! The girl was wearing something... just not very much of it.

I bet the answer to the question wouldn't surprise me but I heard several comments about her mom. Where's the daddy of this girl? I guarantee you he's not in the picture! I have four daughters and ain't no way in hell, they would've walk out my house looking like that.

Then there's this quote from the forum at the Ocala Star-Banner forum:

ATLANTA GA. May 15 2008 A warrant is out for the arrest of a Grady Hospital social worker in the theft of a set of rings from a young woman who died in the emergency room at Grady Memorial Hospital.
Police have said that they have surveillance tape showing Tacoma Jawara, 54, with a property bag. Officials arranged for him to surrender in the case Wednesday but he did not. They are looking for him right now.
Katherine Armstrong, 35, died after she was involved in a car accident on I-85 near Flat Shoals Road. Her husband said records showed Armstrong was wearing her engagement and wedding rings in the emergency room but after that they disappeared.
"Either some staffer stole those rings from a woman who just died in that room, or perhaps they were so negligent in the care of personal belongings that someone else just wandered in," said her husband, Alan Armstrong.
Alan Armstrong said Katherine had designed the rings herself and there were no others like them.
Atlanta police investigated and said early Wednesday they had identified a suspect. When officers went to Grady Wednesday to make an arrest the suspect had called in sick.
Officials said Jawara was the social worker working with Alan Armstrong.
The rings have not been recovered. Authorities said Jawara has said he does not have the rings. Jawara's daughter has called police and said he had a family emergency and had to move from his Buckhead apartment.

At this point, it looks as though he has chosen to run, an officer said.

A Mattapan man returned to the scene of a crime and found himself again charged with theft, police said.
Tarus L. Veal, 35, of Mattapan and Rodney L. Martin, 56, of Roslindale were arrested Sunday after Veal stole merchandise worth more $500 from the Kmart store on Grossman Drive, police said.
Police had arrested Veal for stealing three bottles of perfume from Kmart on Jan. 28.
On Sunday, Veal was a passenger in a Buick LeSabre that officer Robert Joseph stopped on Union Street after receiving a description of the vehicle from store security personnel.
Both Martin, who was driving the car, and Veal had default warrants for larceny and other offenses, police said.
Veal had six warrants for larceny, drugs and assault and battery. One warrant was for the earlier Kmart theft.
Veal also was charged with larceny of property worth more than $250. Store security told police that he was the only one to enter the store and steal the merchandise Sunday, police said.
The stolen items were not recovered.

ROSWELL, Ga. May 15 2008 -- Federal agents and local police raided a Roswell home where they found copy-cat drugs were being made.
Sources at the U.S. Postal Inspectors Office confirmed to Channel 2 Wednesday there are two federal arrest warrants for Chris and Jennifer Navoy, the couple who live in the home.
Roswell police Lieutenant James McGee said Tuesday the operation sold HGA, testosterone and copy-cat versions of Cialis online and through mail order, netting an estimated $25,000 to $30,000 a day.
The home on Sentinae Chase Drive was raided Tuesday.
Agents told Channel 2's Jodie Fleischer they got a tip three or four months ago and once they started investigating they realized it was much more far-reaching than they first thought.
Property records show the couple bought the home in Roswell two years ago for $745,000.
"I think it's hard to believe in a quiet suburban neighborhood. You never expect this kind of activity to be going on, literally right next door," said neighbor Brett Buckwald.
Neighbors said they didn't know much about the couple's past. Channel 2 found that Jennifer Navoy was a licensed physical therapist and Chris was a registered nurse when they lived in Florida.
Channel 2 found the couple has operated at least two Web sites with Online ordering for various chemicals. One included the disclaimer that the substances were for research purposes only and were not for human consumption.
The specific charges have not yet been released.

JACKSON TOWNSHIP OH Jasmine D. Henderson, 18, of 3115 W. Tuscarawas St., Apt. 1, was arrested Friday on a felony count of robbery, according to jail records. Police said she was involved in a shoplifting incident where the security officer was punched in the face at Macy's at Westfield Belden Village mall

APPLE VALLEY CA— Two men were arrested after leading deputies on a high-speed pursuit after stealing a trash can-full of electronics from Super Target Tuesday afternoon, officials said.
The chase began at about 2:15 p.m. when Super Target employees called the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department to report two white males were filling a trash can with electronics and were putting them inside a Honda Pilot, officials said.
Apple Valley station deputies chased the vehicle at speeds exceeding 60 miles per hour westbound along Highway 18, according to sheriff’s officials. The two men doubled back and bailed out of the car near Highway 18 and Jacarilla Road, officials said.
The men ran north, but were quickly apprehended at gunpoint by deputies. No one was hurt during the pursuit.

Sioux Falls SD A robbery call this morning at the Sioux Falls Target ended with the arrest of two men, not for robbery, but for shoplifting.
Sioux Falls police Lt. Steve Haney said the two men stole about $400 in electronic equipment from the store and then fled in a car about 8:20 a.m. There were no weapons or threats used in the theft, he said.“They had a cigarette lighter that they were trying to use to burn off the security devices on the merchandise,” Haney said.Employees were able to provide officers with a description of the men, he said.Police are still trying to confirm the men’s names, Haney said.

Carlsbad CA.Carlsbad police are reporting a break-in at the JCPenney store in the Plaza Camino Real Mall. The report came in at 4:12 a.m., a dispatcher with the Carlsbad Police Department said.
Another JCPenney was burglarized in Escondido Wednesday and the store has reported at least 9 other burglaries throughout the state and a loss of $2million in fine jewelry.
Authorities are at the store. It is not known yet what, if anything was taken, or if the break-in is related to the other crimes.

Bridgeton NJ Douglas J. McBride, 19, of North 4th Street, was charged Friday with shoplifting. He was released on his own recognizance

MIRAMAR FLA. Shoplifting suspect nabbed: A security officer at the Wal-Mart at 1800 S. University Dr. told police he saw a man put DVDs into a portable file container at 4:48 p.m. April 24. He said he followed the man to the garden department, then called police. Officers questioned the man, who said he was protecting the DVDs from the mulch and soil he was about to buy. Officers arrested him anyway after a records check showed multiple cases of larceny

Albany NY An illegal immigrant accused of shoplifting at a Queensbury Wal-Mart is expected to face deportation. 21-year-old Juan Carlos Jimenez-Lopez is charged with petit larceny for stealing a $7.97 necklace from the store on Upper Glen Street. Jimenez-Lopez, a native of Mexico, currently lives in Whitehall, and is in the county illegally. He's been released on an appearance ticket and U.S. Border Patrol Agents are now investigating.

Miramar Fla. A loss prevention officer at the Wal-Mart at 1800 S. University Dr. told police she recognized an alleged repeat shoplifter when he came in about 4:25 p.m. April 25.
She said she had not been able to catch him before, but April 25 looked promising when she said she saw him stick a man's watch down the front of his pants in the jewelry department.
At the clothes rack, he allegedly removed four pairs of work pants from hangers and found room for them in his pants.
When he walked past the registers without paying, the security officer and her manager were behind him.
As he drove away in a maroon Dodge van, they noted the license plate, which was registered to a Miami Gardens address.
Miami Gardens police said they found the truck at the address but the shoplifter was not home.
When Pembroke Pines police officers drove the Wal-Mart personnel to the truck, they identified the work pants in plain view in the truck.
The suspect's mother opened the truck for the officers and said her son had gone out the back door when the Miami Gardens officers were knocking on the front door.

In answer to the comment (3.) of a blog reader to "CNN Weaning Kiran's Fans?," this author thought that an additional post might be helpful. He basically indicated that the "off the cuff" remarks of Kiran Chetry, John Roberts, and Kyra Phillips as to the length of Kiran's maternity leave were in jest; that Kiran was in hog heaven with greater news resources at CNN vis-a-vis FNC; and that Kiran would rather be at work with "adults" than stay at home with her children.

Generally, "off the cuff" remarks tend to reveal the truth. Kiran told John Roberts that she would be back before he had a chance to miss her (maybe, a few days) after Roberts told the viewer that it would be about two weeks. Later, Kyra Phillips, Kiran's sub, mentioned that she would be there for about two months. Now that a month has elapsed and no mention of Kyra filling in for Kiran Chetry has been made in the last three days (as Kyra or John did usually), it is no stretch to wonder if Kiran has reconsidered and decided to stay at home with her beautiful children for the near future. As to news resources, FNC can compete ably with CNN with its network of partners, such as SKY and WSJ. In re rather being at work, Kiran is a genuine family person and the allure of her two children must be strong. (For some conspiracy theorists, Kiran's Sparty hosted by CNN/US prez Jonathan Klein's wife and her high profile features in InStyle and OK! Magazine could be seen as a secret sendoff.)

His intelligence community pointed that out not me. The NIE has pointed that out and what are you talking about, is he going to fire Condi Rice? Condi Rice has talked about the need to sit down. So his first two appeasers are Rice and Gates. I hope he comes home and does something.”

Way to go Joe! I know you've said you don't want to be Secretary of State, but you should think about it.

If any other media outlet reported on this, I probably wouldn’t waste my time chewing them out

If any other media outlet reported on this, I probably wouldn't waste my time chewing them out. But when CNN publishes a story about someone calling another person "sweetie" (read it here), and attempts to pass it as "serious" news, I begin to wonder what the hell is going on?! With all the catastrophes going on around the world, with all the wars, natural disasters, falling cranes in NYC, police abuse of power, racism, and the ever worsening economic situation of this country, CNN finds the time to go after Barack Obama for calling someone sweety!

Now, I understand that some may find that a little derogatory, and I can accept that-- though I don't think it is. Many people who commented on that article said they had the same habit-- and seriously, who hasn't slipped up and called someone they shouldn't have honey, hon, babe, sweetie, darling etc. before? My point is, It might not be right, but it happens UNINTENTIONALLY! AND he apologized!

And WHAT in the world is wrong with the people who use this as a basis on whether or not to vote for him?! I thought we had thinking people in this country. If you don't want to vote for him, base it on his policies damnit, and not on the fact that he called some lady sweetie!

This is clearly the most outdated question anyone can ask, yet Mike Gilbert is releasing a book entitled "How I Helped O.J. Get Away With Murder." In the book, Gilber claims, among other things, that O.J. admitted killing Nicole Simpson and Ron Goldman. Click here for a lengthy tv interview with the author, if you still care.

Today I have the luxury of time and relaxation. After walking (yep, that’s right) my daughte

Today I have the luxury of time and relaxation. After walking (yep, that's right) my daughter to daycare, I returned home and swept out the garage. I finished at 9:30am and have the entire day ahead of me. I digress. As I was sitting on my bed checking my e-mail, I discovered that CNN was discussing how women make mistakes with regard to healthcare. This does not apply to soft-spoken women alone; in fact strong women like me have a hard time demanding the care that we deserve.

This article at CNN discusses resources for various health issues that women face. Dr. Christine Northrup shares a few gynecological resources. I hope that the media continues to reach out to female consumers and remind them to be proactive and empowered in their health choices.
