<p>People are calling 4Story a World of Warcraft clone, and I can't completely deny that.  Some elements of 4Story deem reminiscent of WOW and also the Final Fantasy mmo.  However the same thing can be said for a lot of mmos (and the whole mmo genre itself is a clone of table top gaming).  Anyway, I don't care.  Currently 4Story is moving into the second "pre-open beta", whatever that means.  There are three races to choose from and six classes.  Also players may choose from three nations, which allow for "dynamic war" over ownership of various territories.  Currently the game suffers from a little lag, nothing that would interfere with game play however.  Overall I consider this game alright.  It seems some features haven't been rolled out yet and once the game enters it's final phase perhaps game play will be more appealing.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Nun geht es Schlag auf Schlag. Endete Anfang der Woche erst die Family &#38; Friends Alpha, so begann heute Morgen die offizielle Closed Beta. Also alle mal die E-Mails checken (Spammordner nicht vergessen), ob ihr zu den Glücklichen gehört und einen Betakey erhalten habt, denn diese sollen angeblich seit heute verschickt werden.</p>
<p>Schauen wir mal fix auf den Kalender: Mitte Juli. Gehen wir von einer 2-3 monatigen Betaphase aus, so haben wir dann Ende Oktober, ggf. Anfang November. Somit halte ich ein offizielles Release spätestens im Dezember für realistisch. Zumindest was die Aussage seitens Blizzard betrifft „ein Addon pro Jahr“, wäre hier Wort gehalten worden. Wenn auch mit Jahr dann das Kalenderjahr gemeint war und nicht ein Jahr im Sinne von zwölf Monaten.</p>
<p>Interessant ist das neu vorgestellt Archievement System. Für Guild Wars Spieler stellt diese Neuerung einen alten Hut dar, denn dort gibt es das System schon ewig. Über dieses System habt ihr die Möglichkeit Hunderte von Titeln zu erlangen. Bereist ihr also z.B. die ganze WoW Welt, bekommt ihr den Titel World Explorer: <a href="http://static.mmo-champion.com/mmoc/images/news/2008/july/ssAchievements3.jpg">http://static.mmo-champion.com/mmoc/images/news/2008/july/ssAchievements3.jpg</a></p>
<p>Laut Ankündigung sind hier Titel sowohl für PvP als auch PvE sowie Berufen und Events geplant. Guild Wars hat dieses System auf die Spitze getrieben, so gibt es dort für fast jede Mob-Klasse einen Titel. Als Beispiel: Ich laufe durch die Gegend und sehe ein Bär (nein, nicht Nighty), nachdem ich ihn getötet habe, erscheint eine neue „Quest“ im Titel-Menü: Töte 10 Bären für den Titel: Bärenschreck. Nachdem man diesen Titel erlangt hat aktualisiert sich die Quest mit dem Update: Töte 50 Bären für den Titel: Bärentöter. Danach muss man alle Bären dieser Welt töten (mindestens aber 150) um den Titel Grandmaster of Bearslaying zu erhalten.</p>
<p>Insgesamt also ein lustiges Gimmick, was gerade für Reputationsfreaks interessant sein sollte (gell, Groll und Kroesus?). Ich werde mich hierbei auf wenige, seltene PvE Titel beschränken.</p>
<p>Ferner wurde der Frisörsalon eingeführt, wo man seinen Style ein wenig verändern kann. Das ist gerade für uns eitlen Blutelfen eine interessante Sache um modisch schick und gestylt immer in den Instanzen auftreten zu können. Muss ich mich wenigstens nicht mehr bei Brutallus schminken und kann mich dann aufs Heilen konzentrieren (wirft mir Nighty ja immer vor).</p>

<p>Wie ja an anderer Stelle angesprochen, haben folgende Änderungen auch den Weg in die Beta gefunden:</p>
<ul>
<li>Hit Rating, Critical Strike Rating, and Haste Rating now modify both melee attacks and spells.</li>
<li>Spellpower:<br />
o All items and effects which grant bonuses to spell damage and spell healing are being consolidated into a single stat, Spellpower. This stat will appear with the same values found on items which grant “increased spell damage and healing” such as on typical Mage and Warlock itemization.<br />
o For classes which do not heal, they should see no change in the character sheet other than new tooltip wording.<br />
o Healing characters will see their bonus healing numbers on the character sheet decrease, however, all healing spells have been modified to receive more benefit from spellpower than they received from bonus healing, with a net effect of no change to the amount healed by their spells. Some talents have had to be rebalanced to accommodate this change, but the amount healed will remain roughly the same. In addition, some talents will provide only healing spell power.</li>
</ul>
<p>Last but not least: Hier noch mal die derzeitigen Priester Änderungen, worauf ich aber noch mal separat eingehen werde.</p>
<ul>
<li>Circle of Healing (Holy): Now works on any targets in the caster's raid, and is now a &#34;smart&#34; heal and chooses the lowest health targets to heal first within it's range. Also now has a 6 second cooldown. Also no longer will heal summoned Snakes from Hunter's Snake Trap.</li>
<li>Enlightenment (Discipline): Now also gives 1% spell damage and 1% heal per point.</li>
<li>Focused Will (Discipline): Now increases healing effects on you by 3/4/5%, down from 4/7/10%.</li>
<li>Force of Will (Discipline): This talent now increases your spell damage by a flat amount, rather than increasing your spells by a %. (Now increases school %, rather than selected spells damage %). In other words, your spell damage gained from this talent is now reflected on your character sheet, rather than the skill tool-tips.</li>
<li>Holy Fire: Cast time reduced to to 2 seconds, down from 3.5. Damage increased roughly 60%. Duration for the damage over time effect reduced to 7 seconds, down from 10. Holy Fire now has a 10 second cooldown.</li>
<li>Improved Inner Fire (Discipline) - Now also increases the bonus healing on your Inner Fire spell by 10/20/30%.</li>
<li>Improved Shadow Word: Pain (Shadow) - Now increases damage done by your Shadow Word: Pain by 5/10%, but no longer increases the duration of your Shadow Word: Pain.</li>
<li>Levitate now costs 3% of base mana.</li>
<li>Lightwell (Holy): Cast time reduced to .5 sec, down from 1.5 sec. Charges increased to 10, up from 5. Now breaks from any attack that hits you for 30% or more of your total health. Cooldown reduced to 3 minutes, down from 5.</li>
<li>Mind Control now has only one rank and costs 12% of base mana.</li>
<li>Mind Soothe now has only one rank, costs 6% of base mana and has no max target level.</li>
<li>Mind Vision now costs 3% of base mana.</li>
<li>New Talent: Improved Spirit Tap (Shadow) - Gives you a 50/100% chance to gain a 50% bonus to your Spirit after gaining a critical effect chance from your Mind Blast or Shadow Word: Death spells. For the duration, your mana will regenreate at a 25% rate while casting. Lasts 8 sec.</li>
<li>New Talent: Twin Faiths (Discipline) - Increases your damage and healing by 1/2/3/4/5%.</li>
<li>Pain Suppression (Discipline): Cooldown increased to 3 minutes, up from 2.</li>
<li>Power Infusion (Discipline): Cooldown reduced to 2 minutes, down from 3.</li>
<li>Psychic Scream now costs 15% of base mana.</li>
<li>Searing Light (Holy): Now also increases the damage of your Holy Nova and Penance spells.</li>
<li>Shackle Undead now costs 9% of base mana.</li>
<li>Shadow Focus (Shadow): Now a 3 point talent, down from 5. Now also reduces the mana cost of your Shadow spells by 2/4/6%.</li>
<li>Shadow Resilience (Shadow): Now reduces physical damage taken by 2/4%, but no longer reduces the chance to be critically hit by spells.</li>
<li>Shadowform (Shadow): Now has an innate 30% threat reduction. Now has a shapeshift UI.</li>
<li>Silent Resolve (Discipline): Now a 3 point talent, down from 5 points.</li>
<li>Spirit Tap (Shadow) - Talent reduced to 3 points, down from 5. Now also leads into &#34;Improved Spirit Tap&#34;</li>
<li>Wand Specialization (Discipline) has been removed.</li>

<p>Concerto Gate just ended it's closed beta phase, with an open beta looming some time in the distant future.  The game is a standard mmorpg.  Go one quests, level up, etc.  I'm not sure quite what to make of the game yet.  My first impression is that it suffers from a lot of hype from the community and fails to deliver.  However, the closed beta was extremely crippled.  No jobs, most quests are bugged, I'd die after 10 minutes.  So it's preposterous to render a verdict on the game at this point.  However, I can say the turn based battles are pretty solid and seem to succeed where other games fail.</p>

<p>Bugs Rider is currently in closed beta.  Therefore the community is pretty small right now and currently game play data is not saved to the servers, which means your progress is lost whenever you close your client.  All that aside, I really like it.  Once the game opens up fully I think Bugs Rider will be a very good game.  It reminds me very much of Gunbound, you are given a series of machines to pick from each with different styles of attack.  Stages are divided between matches and missions.  Missions feature typical fast-paced shoot 'em up action.  An open beta announcement hasn't been made yet, but GameNGame usually has a fast development cycle.</p>

<p>Personally, I didn't care for Aeronauts.  My biggest problem with the game is that it is slow to start and when you actually get past the tutorials and into the more juicy game play you have to go back and play the tutorial stages over so you can get enough experience to play the next missions.  I suppose this wouldn't be so much of a problem if the community was a little bigger and you could play more dogfight matches, which allow you to fight/compete against other players, but right now the community is pretty small and you can't count on getting your experience that way.  Other than a few odd localization quirks, I found Aeronauts to be an interesting game.</p>

<p>My opinion of NeoSteam is that it is another game suffering from over-hype.  It sounded great.  I really really wanted to like it, but I could only stomach about 20 minutes or so.  The game is still in closed beta, so any problem could be fixed before the game is officially rolled out.  My two biggest problems are that the graphics seemed unforgivably jaggy to me and that there was practically no explanation on how to do anything or where anything is.  This is particularly unforgivable in this case as there is no explanation of factions or classes, which are somewhat essential to game play.  Regardless, hopefully this particular issue will be fixed by official release time.</p>

<p>My impressions of Stone Age 2 can be summed up in one word: "blah".  For me there seemed to be a large amount of hype surrounding the game, but after playing it I can safely say that I am disappointed.  When you start the game you are allowed to determine your character's elemental affinity, this in turn determines your starting creature/pet/monster/whatever.  After that you can catch any monster you want, however you can only use a certain number of monsters in battle and this number increases every five levels or so.  You have to keep monsters happy by feeding them and not dying very often, a happy monster performs better in battle and learns new skills quicker.  Battles are random and turn based, occurring around every twenty steps or so for me.  Characters are given access to a "den" which they can decorate, use to store items, store monsters, and breed monsters.  My biggest complaint is that there really isn't very much concrete information about game play at this point.  I don't know anything about monsters, what abilities they have, etc.  Which means I have no actual reason to capture one other than it looks cool (or less stupid than the others).  I don't know what the overall story arc of the game is supposed to be.  Am I just walking around fighting because I have emotional issues with animals?  But I suppose all that can be excused by the fact the game is still in closed beta.  This random battle system, however, is awful.  I hate random battles in mmos, and in this particular game random battles get tedious fast.  The file size of the installer is 1GB+, which is a little painful considering the quality of the graphics.  All in all I expected better of this game.  However, Stone Age 2 is in closed beta which means that the game hasn't technically entered it's final phase yet, and most of these problems might be eliminated.</p>

This iteration of Top Speed is coming to us from IAHGames, who can be a little wishy-washy about the terms of their releases.  I wouldn't be surprised if IAHGames charges for Top Speed or initiates an IP block.</p>

<p align="left">Closed beta starts next Friday (Apr. 30th) at 2:00 PM PST, and the only way in is via a closed beta key at <a href="http://www.fileplanet.net" target="_blank">FilePlanet</a> that you can obtain when the beta starts.&#160; Unfortunately, Combat Arms looks fairly intensive as far as graphics go, so it looks like some people with older computers such as myself will be sitting this one out and stick with their Counter-Strike 1.6 or UT2004.</p>

Perchè...facilissimo...mi diverto ed anche molto. Ho scritto anche, molto nei trasferimenti in giro per l'Italia, un pò per la mia sorellina Alex, un pò per alcune persone alle quali mi faceva piacere regalare qualche pensiero ma anche per qualche persona che è meglio abbandonare per strada. Ho installato la beta, che rimane closed, di Age of Conan. Qualche problema iniziale dovuto probabilmente ancora ad un codice grezzo (per questo la NDA non è stata tolta), tanto è vero che sul mio sistema LotRO gira con le impostazione settate su Very High mentre ho dovuto settare su Low quelle per AoC. Altra cosa noiosissima che spero sia dovuta solo alle Server Station sulle quali è collocato il gioco al momento, sono i titanici i tempi di caricamento. Il frequente "zoning", cioè il frequente caricamente delle aree mi ha ricordato Guild Wars. Per ora mi sono impegnato a superare il tutorial iniziale con tutti gli archetipi disponibili. Poi ho sloggato, mancava no troppa poca exp con Miriael per non provare a raggiungere il CAP  LVL...obiettivo raggiunto...Miriael Elf Champion  50. Ora penso di tenere Miriael nella zona deputata al MvP mentre livellerò la guardian visto che ho rinnovato il mio account per altri 3 mesi, i giochi all'uscita fanno sempre un pò cagare e non credo che AoC possa in qualche modo sorprendermi, se poi guardo al passato di Funcom...non posso che sorridere. Spero di riuscire a postare anche qualche immagine e i link come avevo promesso già in un altro post...ma sono letteralmente caduto in come alle quattro del mattino ieri notte. Ora devo finalmente ritirare il tablet pc che ho regalato alla mia sorellina e poi aperitivo per un anticipo di festeggiamenti.</p>

A press release has passed on the bad news that Home will be delayed until Fall 2008. The Closed Beta has been extended through the Summer as well. Disappointed? Yea, me too. But it isn't all bad. Sony plans to expand the number of testers in the Closed Beta. Exact details regarding the registration process have yet to be revealed. At least there is a silver lining to this cloud.</span></span><!--more--></p>
<p style="margin-bottom:0;">
<p style="margin-bottom:0;"><span style="font-style:normal;"><span>Now for some opinion on this topic. I don't find the timing of this information to be too strange following the events of Konami's Metal Gear Online Beta. The sheer amount of demand set the beta back 4 days. That is with Restricted Betas in the U.S. and Japan, coinciding with an Open Beta in Europe. The servers simply couldn't handle the demand and now everyone is disappointed and if you check the US Boards, many are plain pissed off. </span></span></p>
<p style="margin-bottom:0;">
<p style="margin-bottom:0;"><span style="font-style:normal;"><span>Could you imagine if this happened with Home?  Due to Home being PLAYSTATION's wild card, you would not want to have this same type of experience for the user. It is far easier for a game to recover from this type of problem, look at World of Warcraft, but Home isn't a game. Home is a service. Being a service, the amount of time and hype behind the project, and millions of gamers waiting impatiently for it means that Home must not only launch as near flawlessly as possible, but must meet or exceed expectations. Is Sony capable of doing this? Yes. Are you willing to wait to see this happen? </span></span></p>

<p style="margin-bottom:0;"><span style="font-style:normal;"><span>I hope that this is the final delay for this much anticipated service. I was one of the many that were hoping that Home would see the light of day this Spring. My avatar was going to love that Bravia. I also planned on throwing amazing parties. I still do. Don't let your disappointment keep you from enjoying all the PS3 currently has to offer in addition to what is coming.</span></span></p>

I'm not saying that it can't be about Home, but....considering the news it may not necessarily be the star of the show. Then again, maybe we'll find out how to join this expanded Beta.</span></span></p>

<p>IGG has moved Wonderland Online into closed beta.  Currently the game is painfully crowded, though IGG has opened up two new servers.  Players have their pick of 12 characters (mostly girls) to play, each with different strengths, from there players can choose 4 different elemental affinities that determine a character's main skill set.  The game offers a ton of game play systems.  Characters can learn a series of job skills which will net them various items.  The pet system includes a series of predefined pets, you receive a monkey within the first 15 minutes of playing, as well as the ability to capture the majority of enemies and employ them as pets.  Within the first 6 or 7 levels you already have a handful of predefined pets available.  Given that there are so many pet options there is very little room to keep them.  Near the beginning you are given a tent which acts as a house in which to store items and decorate.  The tent is particularly useful as you may open it in any dungeon and rest whenever you need.  The manufacture system is interesting.  Various materials are scattered through out the various maps or available as monster drops.  You can use these items as raw material to build items to decorate your tent, manufacture equips, or construct machines which will allow you to manufacture even more items.  The game also has a compound system, which allows you to combine items to create other items, seemingly at random.  Battles are turn based enemy encounters are mostly random, but enemies do appear on the map screen occasionally.  Overall I find this game enjoyable.  Items collection can be a little tedious, as so many people are competing for the same items.  And, while I understand the need for a limit on the number of pets a person can use I feel that more room should be offered.  Also equips are painfully hard to come by, and acquiring money can be a little awkward.  The game also has a series of in-game cut-scenes, which I felt as little odd.  As far as sprite based isomorphic rpgs go, I feel Wonderland online is definitely interesting.</p>

<p>Eccolo quì, l'invito per la Tech Beta di AoC. L'aspettavo con ansia, perchè probabilmente questo è l'ultimo step prima della realease ufficiale del gioco, che ricordo è prevista per il 20 Maggio 2008. Certo il client di 12.9 giga rende l'attesa per il client davvero penosa e lunga per lo spasmodico videogiocatore. Ora si presenta il problema nemmeno troppo trascurabile, le dx10...che rendono l'esperienza ludica...qualcosa di "diverso".  Fino ad ora questa tecnologia non può prescindere da Windows Vista, l'ultimo capriccioso sistema operativo del colosso Microsoft.<br />
In queste notti è tornata feroce l'insonnia quando si è troppo stanchi per giocare, per essere vigili online cosa mi rimane?<br />
Rimangono le mie parole, le stesse con le quali imbratto spesso queste pagine hanno trovato vie diverse, sono approdate su alcuni space, un pò come succede ai writer...si lascia una traccia...del pensiero nero del mio cuore.</p>

<p>Burda Interactive Communities seems to be moving Floresia in to a larger closed beta.  A smaller closed beta had already been initiated earlier this month, but various game site have started offering additional closed beta keys which seem to target a mid April date.  At first I was worried that Burda:IC was only going to allow European players and IP filter the rest of us, but it seems they have bought the publishing rights to a large portion of the world.  Including North and South America.  The game offers a handful of classes, a pet system, and a ship system.</p>

<p>Monato Esprit has just recently entered closed beta after being scooped up by RealityGap.  This game has made the rounds before, I believe the original English version first surfaced 1 or 2 years ago with GameNGame, however RealityGap seems to be doing well with it. The game administrators, at this point, seem to be genuinely attempting to court their game community via the official fan site and community driven bug reporting.  Currently very little is implemented.  A few quests, a few job classes, a few maps, no shops.  I'm not particularly expecting much at this point, this is a closed beta after all.  RealityGap is attempting to implement a "MetaTix" system which acts as some sort of currency across their different games.  If I had to guess, I'd say this is the beginnings of some sort of cash shop system.  This is a swing in the dark on my part, but they seem determined to implement it across their games even if it impedes their development, which makes me wonder why.  I've played Monato Esprit before, it was fun then and it's fun now.  Once the community picks up and the game moves out of closed beta it will likely get better.  A few things bug me though.  The official fan site is painfully slow to load and the wiki is currently full of link spam (but that can be taken care of easily).  RealityGap's website is written in flash, which makes me want to puke my guts out.  Flash is gross.  Outside of Monato Esprit, RealityGap's other games are... slightly less than epic.  They seem to be flash based card games, point and click games, or clones of other flash games (all of which require MetaTix to play).  I really don't have a problem with that, as long as this aspect of their operation doesn't impede the development of their... more desirable assets.  Assuming RealityGap commits to Monato Esprit we should be seeing the full 6 job classes: Hwarang/Wonhwa, Templar, Clown, Sheriff, Mage, and Cleric; the return of the Fate system, which includes some sort of matchmaking system and a sort of fortune system which changes or enhances various aspects of gameplay; and a much larger world to explore.  I've also heard rumors about a "housing system", which allows a player to purchase some sort of house for their characters, and a job transfer system.</p>

Il gioco rientra nei canoni del filone "estremorientale", ma con un focus particolare nel PvP.  Una tendenza che mi sembra di scorgere nelle linee guida degli sviluppatori asiatici e quella di provare ad interessare anche un pubblico diverso dal loro target usuale, vedo molte più quest e meno "grinding"...diciamo una cultura più "occidentale". Definirei questo titolo un "Action" MMO, quando lo giocate e vi partono le combinazioni d'attacco è un delirio...pensate ai "picchiaduro" per console e forse vi avvicinate al tipo di impatto grafico che questo titolo vi da. Niente di particolare, come avete sicuramente notato, si distingue probabilmente dal mare magnum dei free mmo per la possibilità infinita di PvP in tutte le modalità conosciute e che anche i "fragger" troveranno di loro gusto. Motivi per giocarlo?pochi..se volete un PvP serio...andate su GW. Il titolo NcSoft tra i giochi senza canone mensile rimane inarrivabile per quello che concerne l'esperienza del pvp.</p>
