Deciding on the colours was again decided by looking at many pictures I had taken around the pond in high summer and the way the light reflects on the plants and the blue cedar, when the water lillies are in bloom the colours change dramatically. The blues are beautiful against the dark steel delicas

Are any of you going to the Hobbycraft Show at the NEC? If you are, stop by the Origin Publishing stand, and you will find me demonstrating Friendly Plastic every day of the show. Come along and say hello, or if you want to bring stuff for me to see, or stuff you want advice about. It is lovely to meet people who have shared interests.

I will be demonstrating Patchwork similar to the jewellery below

And loads of other things

This blogging lark has quite a learning curve. OK, so typing in the stuff you want to say is not too difficult, but there are all sorts of complex issues regarding linking, images, widgets, (my sister has a dog called Widget!) blogrolls and feeds that I am still trying to get my head around. One thing I have discovered though is that there are so many other great folk out there blogging away.

Have you ever been (via the internet) down under to Dale Rollerson's blog and her magical web site The Thread Studio? Dale is an expert blogger and posts frequently with loads of interesting things. She is also a tireless (and probably sleepless) individual who does a wonderful job of making interesting textile stuff available to Australia (and the rest of the world).

Chrissie Dayis another unique individual who is a very good friend of mine. She is a colourful character who can be seen on Create and Craft knitting away creating her unique bags and accessories. She is also the author of a number of books on knitting, felting and knitting with wire. Chrissie is irrepressible and very prolific with her projects and writing. I have collaborated with her by making some beads out of FP for one of the projects in her books, and I think there are plenty more ideas that could be mined for the future - buttons, handles, toggles, more beads, closures, and other stuff I can't even begin to think about just now.

Got to go and get started on preparing for the show.
