- Iceberg, Gutenberg, Spielberg... Pra mim é tudo a mesma merda!

Author: Jan Zapotocky
Size: 2651 KB

Quote:
Chinese Practice will not teach you Chinese, it's a program meant to accompany your study at a school. When you come home from class, create new lesson and write down new words and phrases. First practise the last lesson, then open couple of most recent lessons, from time to time open and practise all lessons. Use different modes – let the program display only chinese terms while you translate into your language or vice versa, or just hear the computer read the terms and repeat it. Highly recommended thing to do is to print out list of Chinese phrases, carry it with you and try to read it everytime you have a free minute.

Quote:
Since the purpose of the compilers of this dictionary has from the first been that of assisting fellow students, it will not be amiss to offer a few words of suggestion as to its use, having in mind especially the needs of those who are beginning the study of Chinese characters.
The book is meant to be suggestive rather than exhaustive, so its purpose will not have been achieved if many are not helped by it to pursue inquiries far beyond what is offered here. The six thousand odd characters given will be found, however, to cover quite thoroughly the ground traversed by most writers.

The Languages of East and Southeast Asia

Author: Cliff Goddard
Publisher: Oxford Univercity Press
Year: 2005
Pages: 332
Format: PDF
Size: 3.53 MB
ISBN: 0–19–924860–5

This book surveys the languages of East and Southeast Asia from the perspective of general descriptive linguistics, and explores the ways in which language, culture and history are intertwined. My goal is to provide an accessible resource for students and teachers of linguistics, language studies, and Asian Studies. I have tried to use plenty of concrete examples throughout, drawing on little-known minority languages as well as the major national languages of a dozen countries. To help linguistics students consolidate their knowledge and skills, there are exercises with solutions for each chapter. Though readers who are not studying linguistics may wish to skip lightly over sections of certain chapters, most of the book should make sense and be interesting reading for those with a minimal background in linguistics, and little or no personal knowledge of any East or Southeast Asian language.

Quote:
The name of the book, "The Spoken Language of Western China," indicates pretty clearly the scope of the work. It is difficult to draw a line between what is spoken and what is written only. Many phrases used by scholars have been rejected as too " bookish/' but, on the other hand, nothing has been regarded as too common for insertion. The work contains 3,786 characters, 112 duplicate characters, 191 words without characters, and 13,484 examples, including 401 proverbs. The examples have been taken in every case from the lips of the natives. No phrases of foreign origin religious or otherwise have been collected, as students can easily obtain such from other sources.

Eu sei, estou super ausente.
