Friday

A very circuitous combi route brought us to the Soyuz bus stop, and we boarded the bus for Cañete. From there we took a few combis (Cañete to Imperial, Imperial to Lunahuaná) to get to Lunahuaná, a quaint little town running along a river and nestled against a few mountains and cerros. As it was early Friday morning, we were the only tourists there and the town was clean, quiet, and empty. There, rented bikes and took first a hillside dirt path that led to a pista (highway) which we followed for supposedly 15 kilometros. It was a beautiful, beautiful ride. Imagine, cruising along a highway expanse under the sun, empty except for the occasional combi or moto, passing hand-built houses and always with mountains on either side. The sky was huge and cloudless. At one point the highway sloped down the left side of a green cerro, and we coasted the entire way with the Río Cañete coursing wide, rocky, and glittering on our left, and the sun shining through tall reeds and on patches of farmland beyond. We arrived at a bridge with a beautiful view of the river and the mountains, and from there we went on our canotaje excursion (read: we canoed). February is the peak season for canoeing, so when we went the river was very low and the rapids were okay. Not as fun as Maine, but much, much better than the Delaware. But the water was refreshing and it was an enjoyable ride. Cost: 50 soles.
Afterwards, boarded a bus to Chincha because according to LonelyPlanet we'd find Afro-Peruvian dancing in the El Carmen district at night. Unfortunately, we came at the wrong time. We got to a crowded Chincha at night and left directly for El Carmen, and we realized as we were passing a dead quiet countryside (kind of eerie) that we made a mistake. El Carmen was dead quiet. Went back to Chincha disappointed and feeling lost, and decided to get our senses back over dinner. The three of us split a huge-ass pizza (delicious), and decided to go to Pisco.
Watched the worst movie of my life on the Soyuz bus (an American one about gangs-- terribly made, terribly acted, but so loud that you couldn't help paying attention). Arrived at Pisco around ten thirty and took a cab straight to Hostel Los Incas Inn, a very clean and tidy hostel. Chill, sleep.

Saturday

Woke up early to catch the tour of the Islas Ballestas, but the docks were closed due to inclement seas. Headed off subsequently for the Reserva Nacional de Paracas, a peninsula made up of desert and coast. The two extremes make for a gorgeous combination. Unfortunately due to a sudden massive earthquake that passed through Pisco a year ago, some of the landmarks along the coast had fallen (such as La Catedral; here is the before/after).

The emptiness of blue skies and sand dunes and salt roads ends abruptly when you hit the coast, where the blue-green waters of the Pacific crash over rocks and against vertical cliffs, or wash over dark red sands. It was really something to look at.
We lunched at a little lagoon oasis, where restaurants served up fresh fish and mariscos (shellfish) caught in the Reserva. We sat literally on rocks at the water's edge, and a fleet of fishing boats sat tranquilly on the sun streaked lagoon. Waded a bit afterwards-- cold water felt amazing under the sun.
Lost the cell phone my family gave me somewhere in the Reserve, which sucked. Our taxi driver, who seemed very fond of Danny, took us to the hostel to pick up our things, and then dropped us off at the Soyuz bus station. We left for Lima with 65 cents in my pocket.

Sunday

Back at Lima, went out with Helen and her coworkers to a discoteca in Los Olivos. I thought they were kidding when they said they were going to party from twelve to six, but they weren't. Some reggaeton, a ton of kumbia and salsa, my calves burrrrrned. Slept from 9am to 4pm when I got back to Surco. But all in all, a fun ladies' night (though I'd had more than enough by 3am), and it was really the first night I really got to spend time with Peruvians of my own age (24, close enough). I don't know how they handle these wild lifestyles; dancing to dawn days in a row. Sunday during the day I slept like a log; stayed in and rested.

Budget trip - done. Weekend - bacán.

These three days crammed in a lot bit of everything. It's interesting in these cases to see what sort of things appeal to me most. Sometimes I forget. It's a simple matter of asking, "Do I want to be where I am doing what I'm doing?" At 5am at a discoteca, what do I wish I were doing? Sleeping. Biking along a river through mountains and countryside, where would I rather be? Right where I am.

Un temblor de 3.8 grados de magnitud en la escala de Richter sacudió esta mañana las provincias de Pisco y Chincha, en la región de Ica. No hubieron daños materiales ni pérdidas de vidas humanas.
Según informó el Instituto Geofísico del Perú (IGP), el movimiento telúrico se registró a las 10:17 horas, y su epicentro se localizó a 16 kilómetros al noreste de la ciudad de Pisco.

El sismo se produjo a una profundidad de 45 kilómetros y tuvo una intensidad de nivel II tanto en Pisco como en Chincha en la escala de Mercalli Modificada (MM).

Las autoridades locales de Defensa Civil no han reportado víctimas o daños materiales, no obstante, la población en Chincha llenó las calles ante el temor de una emergencia mayor.

A semanas del terremoto, empezó a rumorearse la posibilidad de un terremoto en los próximos dos años, o tres, cerca a Lima. Para muchos, la lección de este terremoto ha sido prevenir, para otros, ya pasó "el susto". Sin embargo, leyendo microsiervos, publican un artículo "Nubes sísmicas", en el que sospechan - con cierta razón, que puede existir una forma de prevenir los terremotos. Como ellos bien señalan:

El característico aspecto de las nubes sísmicas, en forma línea o de pluma, servirían para indicar la posición y el punto de origen de la falla, y su tamaño tendría relación con la intensidad sísmica y por tanto con la magnitud del terremoto.

Comentan un articulo publicado en kirai, que me parece importante para creer que es el camino correcto. Linkea también a un artículo interesantísmo (también en kirai) sobre los avances en anticipación a los terremotos.

Ojalá este sea un paso en el camino correcto a prevenir estas tragedias.

El valle de Chincha pudo estar poblado hace miles de años por hombres enanos

En la Crónica del Perú de Pedro Cieza de León, hay un capítulo sobre la "Gran Provincia de Chincha con un párrafo que siempre me ha llamado la atención:

"Queriendo saber el origen destos indios de Chincha y de dónde vinieron a poblar en este valle, dicen que cantidad dellos salieron en los tiempos pasados debajo de la bandera de un capitán esforzado, dellos mismos, el cual era muy dado al servicio de sus religiones, y que, con buena maña que tuvo, pudo llegar con toda su gente a este valle de Chincha, adonde hallaron mucha gente, y todos de tan pequeños cuerpos que el mayor tenía poco más de dos codos; y que mostrándose esforzados, y estos naturales cobardes y tímidos, les tomaron y ganaron su señorío; y afirmaron más: que todos los naturales que quedaron se fueron consumiendo, y que los abuelos de los padres, que hoy son vivos, vieron en algunas sepulturas los huesos suyos y ser tan pequeños como se ha dicho."

Si este pasaje es cierto, Chincha debió ser hace cientos (o miles) de años un territorio poblado por pigmeos de un metro de altura, que fueron conquistados por un extranjero y "sus gentes" de forma pacífica, y que poco a poco se fueron extinguiendo, mucho antes de la conquista de Chincha por los Incas.

Sería todo un descubrimiento encontrar tumbas de pigmeos en Chincha para demostrar que Cieza de León no se equivocaba.

Ya pasaron más de tres meses y hasta ahora el gobierno aprista no actúa como debe y reconstruye el sur luego del terremoto que enlutó al país entero. Por ello, en vista que se trata de un derecho, los miles de damnificados saldrán hoy por las calles de Ica para protestar no sólo por la inacción del fracasado Forsur que aún dirige Julio Favre sino porque -en general- el Ejecutivo no actúa con la rapidez necesaria.
Ya pasaron más de tres meses y hasta ahora el gobierno aprista no actúa como debe y reconstruye el sur luego del terremoto que enlutó al país entero. De otro lado, la Cruzada Cívica Anticorrupción de Ica se manifestó en respaldo de la marcha, que implicaría a pobladores de Chincha, Pisco, Ica, Palpa, Nazca y Marcona, según el llamamiento realizado ayer, según señaló Leonel Falcón, dirigente del gremio.
Los pobladores no ocultan su indignación porque a pesar de llegar a los 100 días de ocurrida la tragedia, aún existen personas prácticamente abandonadas, que han recibido ínfima ayuda. Así lo advirtió el representante de la Coordinadora Cívica Regional de Ica, Leonel Falcón Guerra, al señalar que todo el pueblo iqueño se movilizará hoy en respuesta a la indiferencia de las autoridades y la inoperancia del Forsur. 3)Creación de un organismo autónomo para la administración de los fondos de la reconstrucción integrado por ciudadanos y/o instituciones de reconocida solvencia moral a propuesta de sus miembros.

4)Inmediata titilación de predios de los damnificados, saneamiento físico legal.

5)Aprobación de una Ley de expropiación inmediata e inscripción de dominio de los terrenos ocupados por los asentamientos humanos con antigüedad.

6)Cumplimiento de la entrega inmediata de los S/.6, 000 mil nuevos soles y bonos del estado a los 140 mil damnificados SIN TRABAS, SIN CONDICIONES, CON REQUISITOS SIMPLES

7)Por la inmediata apertura del Banco Agrario en Ica, con créditos preferenciales para los Agricultores y a los Micro y Pequeños Empresarios de la Región.

8.)Por Programas de Vivienda para todos los inquilinos damnificados.

9)Por la Reconstrucción Inmediata de la infraestructura de los. Colegios, Hospitales, Universidad y servicios básicos.

10)Por devolución a los maestros del descuento de la Huelga Magisterial de Julio.

11)Por la aprobación de Ley de impuestos a las sobre ganancias mineras, pesqueras y agroindustriales para la Reconstrucción, revisión del contrato de la empresa Shougang Hierro Perú, reposición de los 10 dirigentes despedidos, corte de juicio penal injustamente procesado en el juzgado de Vistalegre y cumplimiento del compromiso de inversión de 120 millones de dólares para la región y el distrito de Marcona.

12)Por transparencia en el manejo de recursos y fondos donados por los países amigos para los damnificados .Sanción a los responsables de actos de corrupción.

13)Ante la indiferencia de los Congresistas de Ica, los damnificados lo declaramos personas no gratas.

14)La donación de cementos LIMA, deben ser destinados a la defensa ribereña del río Ica. ALTO AL TRAFICO DE LAS DONACIONES, INVESTIGACIÓN Y SANCION A LOS CORRUPTOS

Tapi berhubung anak ini makin melanglang buana dan makin membuat saya terkagum-kagum (baca: NGIRI... puasss??!! ;-( ),... dan hampir semua blog membicarakan dia (pasti sama kayak saya... sama2 pada "Kagum" khan ama anak ini??? *sambil muter bola mata*)... akhirnya saya kok kepancing untuk ngomongin dia juga...

Gapapa lah saya terima resiko dihina dina karena ikut2-an ngomongin Idola saya ini... So what gitu loh... sini juga punya kebebasan untuk ngeluarin pendapat toh???!!!...

Saya mulai berfikir... kalo saya bisa kayak dia... (bukan MIUND dodol... maksud saya Chincha Laura)... mungkin saya juga bisa sedikit lebih beruntung kali yach... "pasar" kita demand-nya masih yang model2 bicaranya kayak gini2 nich... Terbukti dengan banyaknya tawaran2 manggung dan main sinetron untuk CHINCHA LAUWRA dan kawan2nya yang sama2 "blasteran".

Yahhh, walaupun secara umur,... sini baru saja memasuki 30-something (APA??...Ya oloh bo'.... udah 30-something yach gue?... sejak kapan???.... kok gue ga tahu sich???, hakhakhakhak....*mode denial ON*),... tapi khan masih layak buat tampil diTIPI...

Compare to Chincha Laura.... kalo ibarat ayam.... dia kalo digoreng dagingnya masih kurang enak, masih "berlendir"... kalo saya.... hmmm... Jauh lebih "Gurih".... trus kalo diibaratin bunga.... Seumuran Chincha mah ibarat bunga yang masih kuncup... belum begitu menarik, dan tidak bisa menjanjikan akan menghadirkan bunga yang sedap dipandang mata atau tidak.... masih mistery dech.... beda sama saya.... Perempuan2 seperti saya ini.... "A smart-sexy-30Something-looks younger-women"... ibarat bunga... sedang mekar2nya dech... The Shamans of Peru - Ceremonial Chants, Icaros, and Music

This unique set of recordings documents a collection of ceremonial chants and Ayahuasca icaros on CD.

Tracks 1-3 San Pedro ceremony held in Puruchucu, at the head of the Rimac valley. The ruins of this sacred site or huaca date back to pre-Inca times and have been accurately reconstructed. Setting the scene for the ceremony, three musicians play replicas of pre-Hispanic instruments. Alonso del Rio says: ‘while keeping to their original tuning, we have explored the instruments musical possibilities to give an idea of what the music could have been like in pre-Colombian times. The melodies came to us through the ancestral memory evoked through medicinal plants like San Pedro and Ayahuasca’. Instruments: the ceramic notch flutes of the Chincha civilization, Nazca panpipes or ‘antaras’ with their special tuning similar to Oriental scales, and Nazca drums.

The Mesa Nortena is a particular ceremonial tradition best conserved in the region of ‘Las Huaringas’, high and remote sacred lakes in the northern Department of Piura.
There are probably only a few good maestros who continue this ancient tradition in Peru today. The rest simply work with the externalities of the mesa, while giving their clients minimal doses of the visionary San Pedro cactus. Originally more importance was given to the medicine, which must be in the organism of the participants as well as the maestro for the power to flow. The mesa then served to intensify the power of the plant.

An altered state is needed to enter the symbolic world of the objects on the mesa (the word refers to the altar as well as the ceremony itself). The abundance of macerated plants, perfumes and smells employed in the mesa function to move the feelings associated with one’s memories. At a deep level, sensations are translated into vibrations which the medicine brings to consciousness so that associated hurt and pain can be ‘re-membered’ again and a new attitude can emerge.

The singado, or absorption of macerated tobacco juice through the nostrils involves another power medicine which is used to intensify the San Pedro at regular intervals. The instruction from the maestro to pour up the left or right nostril reflects the notion of duality found in shamanic disciplines all over the world: masculine and feminine, hot and cold, upper world and earth, expansion and contraction, flowing and stagnant. Illness arises from one of these polarities loosing equilibrium. The word singado comes from the Quechua word singa meaning nose and is perhaps an Andean notion of Pranayama!

Also audible in the following two mesas 4- 5 are the clicking of chontas, or black bamboo sticks used for cleansing people’s auras and the spraying from the maestro and assistants’ mouths, of perfumes and plant macerations over the participants.

The tendency to commercialise a tradition is inherent in urbanization and seeing things for their utility and business. For example mesas are sometimes held so that lawyers win legal battles. Piles of documents are laid on the mesa so that the power works on them and they win their case. In this way a shamanic ceremony is degraded to folklore. We can try to reconstruct the original tradition to how it was in pre-Colombian times and remove the images of Sarita Colonia and the other saints, crucifixes, photos etc., which have accumulated throughout the centuries and evolved the mesa into the mestizo tradition which survives today. Left behind are the ancient stones, magic plant brews and the enchanted waters of the lakes of Las Huaringas, being the original elements, which have survived underneath.

Track 4 Mesa with Alejandro Sanchez. Maestro Sanchez lives in Comas, a distant suburb of Lima which began in the 1960s as a shanty town. It is surrounded by impressive parched stony desert hills. The maestro’s house is at the end of a road near the cemetery and overlooks this immense settlement from where he draws his clients. Sanchez was born in Sondorillo near the legendary sacred lakes of Las Huaringas. At age 11, while still at school, he seemed to have perceptions and to be able foresee things accurately. His astonished teachers thought he was having hallucinations and called for maestro Florentin Garcia. Later Alejandro became his apprentice and learned from him the secrets of plants.

The strangeness of these ceremonies can be seen as part of the ‘trappings’ of rituals in general. Strangeness serves to trick the rational mind so that it will not interfere with the subtle processes taking place in the subconscious. When we are fully awake, things can indeed seem strange… ‘people are strange, when you’re a stranger…’ as the song by The Doors goes. A part of healing is recovering the lost gift of perception, the feeling of being alive again.

Track 5 Mesa with Leopoldo Vilela who was also born near the celebrated Las Huaringas in Radiopampa, an extremely cold place at 3,500 meters altitude. He was 90 years old and in very good health at the time of this mesa which was also held in the ruins of Puruchucu. At three years old he was sent outside to look for herbs for his mother who was suffering from a stomach ache; there he knew he would become a curandero. He used to watch his father who was clairvoyant and assisted people in his community to find their animals when they were lost. He used tarot cards and looked into bottles of aguardiente (firewater) with grains of corn of different colours at the bottom

Don Leopoldo improvises sessions for groups and individuals, which may continue for hours. These are full of idiosyncrasy, and characterized by warmth, dedication and playfulness, which is quite touching at times. The seemingly endless sequence of bottles of tastes and smells and other procedures are often extremely weird while his inadvertent remarks and caresses on his guitar (of his own manufacture) often provoke smiles and laughter in all present.

Human beings have an instinctive awareness of other people’s conscious states of mind. When another person, a shaman, is authentic and spontaneously creative in the moment, this has the power to focus the mind, stopping it from verbalizing and rationalizing. A sense of pure wonder is evoked.

Track 6 Closing calls. The conch shells or pututus, still used in Andean communities today, are handed down from the Incas who obtained them from the Caribbean. They are used for convening meetings and ceremonies.

Tracks 7-9 Shipibo icaros of Mateus Castro, a shaman living outside Pucullpa in Yarinacocha. The arts of the Shipibo, especially textile designs, are closely related to ayahuasca icaros. The words of the chants are symbolic stories telling of the ability of nature to heal itself. For example the crystalline waters from a stream wash the unwell person, while coloured flowers attract the hummingbirds whose delicate wings fan healing energies etc. You might see such things in your visions but the essence which cures you is perhaps more likely to be the understanding of what is happening in your life, allowing inner feelings to unblock so that bitterness and anger con change to ecstasy and love. To awaken from the ‘illusion of being alive’ is to experience life itself.

Tracks 10-16 Dona Cotrina Valles was born in Agua Blanca, Department of San Martin. She apprenticed herself to a maestro in 1979 and later came to live in Iquitos with her husband. Today she lives alone with her children. It is very unusual for a woman to be a shaman in urban situations although they do exist amongst indigenous peoples. Amongst other limiting beliefs, it is thought that women break taboos as they are unable to take dieting seriously because of demands from their husbands and that when they go shopping in the market they will have contact with menstruating women or people who are mal dormida, (ie. a person who has been making love all night).

The diet is a vexed question in the city as the temptations of rich spicy food as well as sex are greater than in the rainforest. As all shamans will tell you, Dona too, says that sex is bad. The ‘mother plant’ loves you and if you make love to another person, you are being unfaithful to her. For this reason it is often said that Ayahuasca is jealous, and if you do not respect her, she makes you ill instead of healing you. You will also not be able to see any visions. The ill effects from not respecting the diet are called cutipa and range from a sense of trauma and stress to skin problems.

Dona’s chants are sung in Spanish and Quechua, as also are the chants of Javier Arevalo which follow. Both Dona and Javier are mestizo shamans, that is to say their ancestors moved to the Amazon from the Andes, rather than being indigenous to the Amazon as the Shipibo are. The melodies of mestizo icaros have an Andean structure and are sung partly in Quechua, a language of the Andes.

Track 17 Despacho to Pachamama in the ruins of Pisaq. A despacho is an offering to the Earth Goddess, Pachamama, which nurtures all life on earth. The ceremony symbolizes the reciprocity of nature and speaks back to her saying ‘we understand the message and we have the same attitude’. The word despacho was mistakenly translated into Spanish after the Conquest as pago, meaning payment, to imply a satanic pact with dark forces.

As each participant made their contribution to the despacho convened by the Shamaness Doris Rivera Lenz ‘La Gringa’, Kike Pinto, played pre-Colombian instruments. The first piece is a Harawi from the Department of Cusco played on a quena, or notch flute, made from the wing bone of a condor. This little melody has been handed down from Inca times, thanks to its incorporation into Catholic mass in Colonial times. The second piece is a Haylli from San Pedro de Castas, Department of Lima, played on a ch’iriqway, or antara (panpipes), made from condor feathers. The melody also has pre-Hispanic roots and has survived in a form played on the chirisuya, kind of oboe, of probable Moorish origin. This track is ended with some calls on the putu, or conch shell.

Kike Pinto is a lifetime musician and researcher of traditional Andean music. He has recorded several CDs and is curator of his own Museum of Andean Music in Hatunrumiyoq, Cusco.

Tracks 18-26 Javier Arevalo comes from Nuevo Progreso, a community of 50 families on the Rio Napo. Many generations of his family before him were shamans and already at 17 years old he knew this was his future. However when he was 20 his father died from a virote (poisoned dart in the spiritual world), sent by a jealous and malicious brujo (sorcerer) in his community. Soon after he began his two-year retreat in the rainforest with his maestro grandfather, dieting many plants, later to become his ‘doctors’. During his time in the wilderness he realised that it was better to leave God to punish the brujo who killed his father, and he decided to be a healer not a sorcerer.

There are several different kinds of icaros, at the beginning of the session. Their purpose is to provoke the mareacion or effects, and, in the words of Javier, ‘to render the mind susceptible for visions to penetrate, then the curtains can open for the start of the theatre’. Other Icaros call the spirit of Ayahuasca to open visions ‘as though exposing the optic nerve to light’. Alternatively, if the visions are too strong, the same spirit can be made to fly away in order to bring the person back to normality.
There are icaros for calling the ‘doctors’, or plant spirits, for healing, while other icaros call animal spirits, which protect and rid patients of spells. Healing icaros may be for specific conditions like manchare which a child may suffer when it gets a fright. The spirit of a child is not so fixed in its body as that of an adult, therefore a small fall can easily cause it to fly. Manchare is a common reason for taking children to ayahuasca sessions.

Tracks 18 Llamada de mareacion in which the spirits of various healing plants are called, here the huacapurana, a tall tree with hard wood, whose bark is used for arthritis. Huacapurana is also used as an arcana, or spirit to protect the body. Also the remocaspi whose bark is used to reduce fever and cure malaria.

Las tragedias se olvidan cuando dejan de ser noticia. Pero quienes las sufrieron, siguen conviviendo con ellas.

Estas son fotos de Ica, Chincha y Pisco, localidades afectadas por el terremoto del 15 de agosto de 2007. Las tomamos hace menos de dos semanas. El gobierno promete ayuda, los alcaldes se la reparten, pero quienes verdaderamente están haciendo algo por la gente, sin buscar el beneficio personal, son las Asociaciones y ONG's.

Si quieren ayudar, la primera ONG en llegar al lugar del terremoto fue Ayuda en Acción.

Hoy se necesita, sobre todo, ladrillos que reemplacen el adobe, trabajo, y alimentos comprados en el sitio para llenar las ollas populares.

Después del terremoto ocurrido el 15 de agosto en Pisco, Perú, me quedé muy preocupado por un amigo que vive en Chincha. Un buen tipo que se ha casado hace poco y que ya tiene dos hijos.
Lamenté mucho no tener más medio de comunicación con él que su correo electrónico. Sin embargo, apenas pude le mandé un mensaje a su buzón, sin la esperanza de que me conteste a la brevedad.
Pero cuán grande fue mi sorpresa después de una semana: me conecté al msn y lo encontré. Chateamos un buen rato y me contó lo triste que era la situación allá, lo difícil que era pernoctar al pie de las pocas cosas que aún tenían con el miedo de que te asalten por la noche o de que se caiga la última pared en pie. Seguramente esa escena podría desesperar a cualquiera. Pero Edwin, mi amigo, me contó todo más como una anécdota que como una catástrofe. Me dijo que habían recibido mucha ayuda, de parte de la Iglesia y de otras entidades, y me contó que sentía muy bendecido porque no había fallecido nadie de su familia, y porque había sido una gran oportunidad para ayudar y servir a los demás.
Por eso cuelgo esta foto (tomada por cdellafiora), porque demuestra que a pesar de la adversidad hay cosas que aún florecen. ¡Excelente foto!

Lo ocurrido el pasado miércoles 15 es una verdadera tragedia. Van más de medio millar de muertos y la cifra sigue subiendo. ¿Y dónde? Pues en el mismo lugar donde hace cinco años ya hubo un fuerte terremoto que dejó también víctimas. No hay duda de que aparte de pensar en nuestros familiares –que espero para todos, estén bien– nuestros pensamientos están con toda esa gente –incluidos miles de niños– que sufre tanto en estos momentos: sed, hambre, frío pero sobre todo miedo y desesperación. Desde aquí sólo puedo sentir impotencia de no poder hacer mucho. Ni siquiera donar sangre puedo.

Pero felizmente aún podemos creer en la solidaridad. Son muchos los países que se han apresurado en enviar su ayuda. En lo que a mi me compete, puedo decir que España también lo ha hecho. En realidad ha sido de los primeros, como siempre. Mucha ayuda desde muchas partes del mundo y desde Lima misma. Empresas, cuentas en los bancos y como no, los bomberos, los primeros en estar en los lugares difíciles. Quiero además darle mi ánimo y fuerzas a mi suegro que no ha dudado en preparar ya su viaje a Pisco para ayudar a la gente que trabaja con él llevándoles frazadas, carpas y bolsas de dormir. Me ha contado que ha tenido que postergar su periplo unas horas para evitar los problemas de los buses en la región.

Espero de verdad que esta pesadilla termine. El Perú es fuerte y seguro que ese pueblo iqueño sabrá levantarse como siempre y reconstruir todo. Ánimo y mucha fuerza.
