I've saved and now tossed out a fair amount of stupid shit in my life.

Some of said stupid shit brought me back to my senior prom.

So come with me on a ride to the halcyon days of 1981.

Bob Marley had recently died of a bad toe and Super President Ronald Reagan was courageously catching bullets with his powerful chest of justice.

We were still 3 long years away from Ah-Ha.

My girlfriend CK was a year behind me (most people are) and had stolen my heart by having sex with me.

Then out of the blue she selfishly decided to go on the trip of a lifetime to Paris France.

It was a 6 week, school sponsored exchange trip leaving me destitute and on my own in favor of worldliness or somesuchshit.

Right smack in the middle of my senior prom and graduation

The nerve!

Sour as I was, I lobbied that I should be allowed to date on the side in order to procure an acceptable substitute prom date.

And she fucking went for it!

Unreal!!

She musta been up to some real nasty shit.

That or I was just a self-centered dick and she truly loved me, felt badly and was placating me…behaving maturely.

In the true spirit of the event I handed out applications stolenborrowed from my employer, The Sheraton Tara Hotel where I was a valet.

I handed out about a dozen of these….this move was so awesomely nervy for someone of my poor status that somehow no one told me to fuck off.

In the end I pawned through them and did some call backs ultimately deciding that being in the same school, these candidates wouldn't suffice.

Promoting from within' would not do…..meaning:

A)   I wasn't going to have any fun.

B) I was going to have lots of fun, word would trickle back to CK and then I wasn't going to have any fun.

So being the fucking pioneer that I was, I outsourced.

The hot hostess at the Sheraton Tara restaurant who we'll call, Don't Flatter Yourself Steve heard of my dilemma.

She tossed common sense out the window quicker than white people toss trash at roadside Native Americans and volunteered her sister.

Her kid sister Kathy was also in a relationship but was restless...this may work yet.

Don't Flatter Yourself Steve brought Kathy by work one evening so that we could meet/check each other out.

Kathy liked me because "He looks like Al Pacino in Serpico."

I liked Kathy because she told me she wanted to bite the buttons off of my shirt.

WE HAVE A WINNER!

And so began our brief affair.

But back to CK.

She was the first real love of my life…..we'd been steady for a year and I wanted nothing more than for her to be with me at what I considered a big if not lame rite of passage.

But there was something wrong….little by little trusts were compromised……feelings hurt….our relationship was withering.

And being the spoiled puke that I was, I felt that her trip was yet another betrayal.

But I dug her, hated to see her go and committed to re-commit upon her return from France.

And I did, dropping Kathy like RFK….quickly and in a hotel kitchen.

She ran back into the arms of her boyfriend who immediately inseminated her.

Nine months later they had a baby girl and were married shortly after.

Meanwhile, CK and Stevieboy were quickly taking on water.

I had started college and our relationship was over, only I didn't know it.

Things reached a boiling point when I raised my suspicion that she was interested in some douche that was on her school wrestling team.

She was appalled at my lack of trust and accused me of being domineering and jealous.

And then she started to date the douche that was on her school wrestling team.

I briefly basked in the thrill of my spot-on perceptiveness.

And then I was fucking devastated.

We spent the next 3 months on and off using up what little there was left in our sputtering relationship until at last it ran dry.

It ended poorly.

As a result for the next year or so I was the shitmost, cold-hearted, miserable boyfriend/date to anyone unfortunate enough to encounter me.

I drew a lot of complaints.

All were met with an unsympathetic, "take it up with CK."

CK married the very next guy that she dated which left me feeling…I don't know how that left me feeling.

I guess kinda honored that I was in an exclusive club of two but sorta guilty that I had jumped in ahead of "the one."

CK, I'm sorry.

If ever we meet again, I owe you a trip to Paris (I'm speaking figuratively. That's not going to happen.)

As for Kathy's now 26 year old daughter…......

Vous vous rapellez donc de ce merveilleux conte d' une petite fille qui au lieu d' appredre ces lecons se met a rever. J' adorais . Petite je regardais cela en boucle... Meme que ma mere me dit qu' elle  trouvait drole que je preferais cette histoire aux autres. Ben aujourd' hui j' apprends qu' il a été ecrit par un drogué et je comprends maitenant toutes les allusions a la drogue.Imaginez ma tete quand j' ai reregarde le film avec un autre point de vue et que j' ai compris completement autres choses....

Quand vous voyez une chenille qui fume un narguillé, Alice qui mange des champignons ou des gateaux puis qui recontre des personnages qui lui disent de ne pas s' asseoir n' importe ou parcequ' il y a deja des gens alors qu' ils ne sont que deux,qui chantent un JOYEUX NON-ANNIVERSAIRE, puis qu' Alice rencontre un chat qui apparait, disparait, on comprend beaucoup beaucoup de choses et mon enfance a vole en eclat sous mes yeux....

Et j' ai compris que plusieurs dessins animés faisaient subtilement la même allusion. ET la je me pose beaucoup de questions..

Ou plutot Shaggy. Pourquoi est-ce qu' il est le seul a comprendre Scooby-Doo? Qu' est-ce qu' il y a dans ses " Scooby Snack" et Pourquoi parmis les autres membres c' est seulement Shaggy qui les prend? Pourquoi est-ce qu' il a toujours des illusions? Et Pouquoi il a toujours faim?  Pensez-y....

Et oui!! Qu' est qu' il y a dans la fameuse " Potion Magique"  qui rend si fort??Pourquoi on nous a jamais dit ce qu' il y avait dan cette " Potion" ??  Pourquoi tant de Secrets huh??

Puis toute une communauté qui repose sur la dite " Potion" d' un druide... Ca rappelle etrangement l' epoque des Hippies ou il y avait un chef qui preparait l' herbe avant de donner a ses adeptes...

We live in Todmorden - and run our website from here too.

It's a small market town in the Pennine hills on the border between Lancashire & Yorkshire. The market is one of its major assets.

Thursday is flea market day, with a mix of regular traders & one off stall holders having a clear out or raising money for charity.

We try to get there most weeks, trawling stalls for potential H is for Home stock. We've picked up all manner of things over the years - from 200 year old chairs to 1960s lamps.

Some traders know what we like now and draw our attention to things they've got or will soon be getting hold of.

After the secondhand stalls have been scoured, there's a great place to stop for coffee - it has an unbelievable choice of teas & coffees all on display on their shelves... with homemade cakes and doughnuts to boot!

Also on the inside market are a florist, greengrocer, cheese stall, biscuit seller, haberdasher, butchers, bakers, but alas, no candlestick maker! Having said that, there's Dawson's - a great, traditional hardware stall that never fails to have that little brush or screw that no one else seems to stock. They, no doubt, have candlesticks... and the candles that go in them too!

The market has at least 4 different butchers - everyone has their own regular or favourite. Ours is Paul Standsfield whose stall greets you as you enter through the main doors. He is Fudge's firm favourite too as he'll always throw in a nice, big beef or venison bone for him.

On other days of the week, the outside market has the usual range of food, clothing and homeware stalls.

Special mention has to go to Alexander Gourmet Med, a Mediterranean food specialist who's usually there on a Saturday. The owner is extremely passionate & knowledgeable about everything he sells. He knows where it was made, which family made it, the methods they used and what makes it unique. We buy great olives & other antipasti, honey, chocolate, coffee, olive oil and balsamic vinegar. He's an endless source of birthday & Christmas presents!

We hope you get the chance to visit one day!

Every artist needs a few objects that are loved deeply for no discernible reason other than indulgence:  a little, chipped milk pitcher that is creamy white with a crisp, commercial litho flower printed onto it -- or an empty bottle of St. Dalfour that catches and distorts the light and whose pretty blue French label has a busy design -- or a cheap brown flower jug from Target covered in white "balloons" -- or a blue tinted pear-shaped water bottle -- or a multi-pronged bud vase from Portugal that one found at a thrift store.  People called it "still life" when you paint this stuff -- but in reality it's a whole world.  You paint the world-as-you-know-it, you paint yourself, and your soul.  And you paint the stuff too, of course!

Non, non.... Vous ne revez pas. Ce n'est pas le tournage du remake de la grande evasion, ni un documentaire sur la chasse aux taupes mais bel et bien l'etat actuel de ma si jolie petite cuisine. Je me dis que ça faisait bien longtemps qu'une tuille ne m'etait pas tombé sur la tête...J'en ai la larme à l'oeil de savoir que je n'ai plus d'eau "pour une durée indeterminée" comme on dit ici...Bref rappel des faits depuis hier matin:
Le problème: Fuite d'eau dans mon immeuble, au 9° etage. Action: Tout casser sottement étage par étage en commençant bien evidement par les etages les plus hauts. Objectif: Trouver au plus vite la provenance de la fuite mysterieuse. Strategie: application à la lettre de la loi de la pesanteur. Effet: pas d'eau dans l'appartement pendant X temps ( sur une base semaine). 

Ca c'est du plan strategique!

Congrès de l'ABF à Reims : Mise en sommeil autour d'une chimay bleue..

Après un an de bons et joyeux services, ce blog va prendre du repos et peut-être passer la main à d'autres joyeux drilles qui continueront ce qui s'apparente (pour nous) à une oeuvre de salubrité publique.

Et donc bientôt sur vos écrans, Couvillencoul 2, le retour. Avec bien sûr des droits de diffusion dans le cercle de famille et au delà.

Actuellement, nous débutons la phase de mise au clair de Musiko.
En quoi cela consiste-t-il ?

Concrètement il s'agit de faire le tri dans toutes les idées qui bouillonnent dans nos cerveaux farfelus de musiciens-geeks :
1. Dans un premier temps il s'agit de faire un brainstorming (on pose toutes les idées en vrac)
2. Puis de trier afin d'en garder les idées intéressantes !
3. Après quoi, le plus dur : on passe de l'idée au fonctionnel. Il s'agit d'imaginer comment on va s'y prendre pour mettre en place toutes ces idées, si elles sont faciles à mettre en place, la façon dont on va les mettre en place.
4. Par la suite, nous créons le plan du site : sa hiérarchie, les sections et leurs contenus, les relations entre ces derniers. -C'est à ce stade que nous en sommes aujourd'hui-
5. Ceci fini, nous nous fixerons une idée du design mise sur format papier. Cet aperçu nous permettra pendant le développement de fixer certaines contraintes à respecter.

Puis viendra la phase de développement...

Nous à Couvillencoul, après une longue étude sur le terrain, menée avec abnégation, on aime bien le Sanglier qui fume (Charly sur Marne), chez Jeannot (Etouvelles, près de Laon) et l'Auberge de Villequier (près de Chauny).

A quand une généralisation de ce type d'infos pour parcourir la France au rythme de sénateur des bibliobus ? Mais que fait donc l'ADBDP ?

à la recherche de choses nouvelles et pour me déconnecter un peu de mon ordinateur , j'ai pris le livre qui me semblé être le plus dure, de notre bibliothèque personnelle, un chef d'oeuvre de la littérature russe il parait. Dés les premières lignes j'ai pris conscience que sa n'avait rien avoir avec LA TERRE ET LE SANG de Mouloud Feraoun, ou LA FIN D'HIER de Benhedouga.

Je  me souhaite bonne chance j'en ai au moins  pour 5 ou  6 mois avant de le finir, peut-être plus avec ses 442 pages, bref je me suis lancée un défit c'est de lire quoi qu'il puisse arriver, un peu de culture ça n'a jamais tuer personne.
