People do ask me why I'm interested in Body Modification. They doubt that body modification has forensic implications, aside from a minor aid to identification. But, no!

Fri May 16, 10:20 AM ET Reuters
OTTAWA (Reuters) - A Canadian man who asked his lover to carve a heart-shaped symbol on his chest during a rough sex game almost died when she accidentally pressed too hard and punctured his heart, a newspaper said on Thursday.
The Winnipeg Free Press said the 25-year-old woman had been sentenced to three years' probation after she pleaded guilty to assaulting the man in February 2007.
The 24-year-old man was initially given little chance of survival but made a full recovery and is backing the woman. Both had been drinking heavily and engaging in rough sex when he asked the woman to carve the symbol, the paper said.

Story HERE:
I think the bit about drinking heavily really does have significant forensic implications. Also, this is Winnipeg, aka Winterpeg. Hey, I lived in Maine for four years. Some things seem like a good idea mid-February, when they're really not. I know this from bitter experience.

warning: just typing out what i'm thinking. not a vent post or anything... pretty boring in my opinion

i'm getting an industrial piercing on saturday, before or after my convention staff meeting. for those who do not know what an industrial piercing is, it's basically two cartilage piercings connected by one long barbell. i'm excited, but at that the same time really, really, REALLY nervous. i've never had an actual piercing before (without the piercing gun) so i don't know how i'll handle it. i'll have to suck it in though, since saving face is all i want to do nowadays anyway. my mom is taking me and she disapproves of it, but i guess she figured it's better than getting a lip piercing (she wouldn't allow it, so i opted to beg for an industrial instead).

now that i think about it, i don't think i'll ever get that lip piercing i wanted so much a few months ago. it's not so appealing as it once was when i was so intent on having one. it just goes to show how my feelings are so fickle about it. i actually weighted the pros and cons, and the cons' importance heavily outnumbered the pros (not to the mention the fact that all of the pros were purely superficial and poser-ish).

well anyway, another reason why getting an industrial is not such a good idea is healing and cost. it costs $70 to get one where i'm going (i plan to use the $5 off coupon to piercings $45+ but also plan to tip $5 so i added that in there; they're known for being so most hygienic piercing shop in the area so i decided that i'd rather pay that much than risk an infection... however, my possible negligence may also lead to an infection so who knows). but i also have to account for the cost of crap like sea salts to clean the damn thing. and about healing - apparently it's a huge bitch. i heard it hurts like hell during the first few months.

i dunno. i'll probably get it anyway, just because i want it to be my final piercing.

To those of you who already saw this pic on Facebook or my blog in spanish, bare with me. A couple of weeks ago, I got me an itchin' for another piercing. At first, I had opted for a ring around my cartilage, but I chickened out. It didn't hurt as much as the one in my eyebrow, but the pain is inevitable, and is part of the point of going through with it. "Enjoy your pain", that's what a piercing artist said to Lorena once. I agree: "enjoy your pain".

EDIT: D'oh! I totally forgot to mention that we now have a new Main Store on Juicy: Juicy 150, 133, 24

New body shape at Mela's created specifically for Laqroki's Mima line. This exotic beauty boasts realistic and sexy curves as well as a pretty face that stands out from the crowd.

Niki went a little nutso a few weeks ago making all kinds of body jewelry for herself. The result is a bunch of fun body piercings with realistic texturing. Pricing ranges from 35L to 125L, with colorpacks that'll save you as much as 50%.

Flickr is being stupid so Tasha seems to have given up on trying to get all the images on there, so here's but a sample of what you'll find at the store:

Okay, I think that's enough photos lol. You can see more at the shop. Nikita's actually got even more body jewelry stuffs in her inventory, but apparently SL's asset servers were misbehaving this past weekend so she threw up her hands in disgust and stopped working on uploading vendor textures and rezzing ads. Keep on the lookout for future announcements from us regarding linked sets and whatnot. ;)

Visit our brand-spankin' new mainstore at the lovely, beachy Juicy sim. ^_^

So, I’d like to open this blog with my thoughts on a rather controversial issue - body modific

So, I'd like to open this blog with my thoughts on a rather controversial issue - body modification.

Just today I read a slightly outdated article posted on a Michigan blog (the article can be found at http://blog.mlive.com/annarbornews/2008/03/the_body_is_the_medium.html) discussing body modification. I must say that I was rather inflamed by the dear psychologist's opinion that those who choose to modify their bodies are mentally unstable. I find this extremely insulting - I personally have streched earlobes at a size of half an inch, and I'm fairly certain that I'm completely stable. Personally, I believe that one should be able to alter one's body as they choose - it is their body, after all. Body modification is, to me, the most expressive form of art availible to humans. I've heard many people, when inquiring about why I do such things, say, "If God had meant us to have holes in our ears/images on our arms He would have given them to us/painted them on us Himself,". Well then, I happen to have a counter arguement - if He hadn't intended for to have them, would He have created the materials for us to have them? No. Now, personally, I don't have belief in God, but it seems to me that if there is one and He didn't want us to go around modifying our bodies in the way we do, then He would have given us the chance to make the materials and supplies necessary to modify ourselves.

To be quite honest, I find most forms of body modification attractive. No, I DON'T find three inch large holes attractive, but I DO find one inch holes and septum rings attractive, along with eyebrow rings and tattoos. Is that so wrong? There are people out there who find feet attractive - do we constantly attack them for their interests? I think not. What about those who obsess over hands? Leather? Latex? There are odder fetishes than tattoos, I think, but it seems only those people are constantly assailed by unwelcome opinions. When I'm at the mall, school, grocery store, wherever, I am constantly bombarded with "Why do you hurt yourself by stretching your ears?" Personally, I get rather tired of that after the first two or three times per day. I have had adults, not young children, come up and, without so much as a 'by your leave', pull back my hair to look at my ears, tug on my plugs/tunnels, or even yank on them - hard. While I'm fairly certain that no cultures find that in any way anything but rude, I do know that it is certainly not acceptable in American culture. And, insult of all insults, when I become indignant and inquire (politely, of course) as to why the hell they're examing my body without asking me, THEY become the victim! As though it's THEIR right to come up and freely examine me as they please, without even asking! I find this to be extremely irritating, and I have actually slapped someone once or twice.

I do have plans for further modifications. Once I am 18, I intend on getting at least one tattoo, several piercings, and beginning the process of stretching my ears out to one-and-a-half inches. Yes, I am aware of the potential social consequences. Yes, I am aware that it might impair my ability to get a high paying job later in life. But do I care? Yes, to some extent. But otherwise, no. I don't want to work for someone who can't see past my strange exterior to the person who is a hard worker. The professions I wish to follow don't really care about how you look, but how well you perform. Guitarists are measured by skill, not looks. Audio engineers are hired by studios that care about results, not looks. Body modification is an art form, one of the highest. The body is a canvas, ready to be painted into a beautiful, living work of art.

But, please, for the sake of others akin to myself - hold your goddamn tounges and hands in place. For don't we often say to our children, "Look with your eyes, not your hands," ?

Follow your own advice.

ITALIA, dag for dag.
Dag 1: Lido Di Cammaiore, shopping
Dag 2: Firenze, shopping
Dag 3: Pisa, det skjeve tårn i Pisa
Dag 4: Assisi, hvor vi besøkte munken Theodor
Dag 5: Roma, shopping på Terminini
Dag 6: Pubcrawl i Roma, spanske trappen (Kunn: Katharina, Stine, Madelen og meg som dro)
Dag 7: Fridag i Roma, shopping på Termenini
Dag 8: Kjørte til Lido De Jesolo
Dag 9: Venezia, det sier vel seg selv

I recently wrote a paper on Internet Communities and Deviance, regarding how membership in such a co

I recently wrote a paper on Internet Communities and Deviance, regarding how membership in such a community can contribute to the eventual deviance of an individual as that person gradually assimilates the values of the community; while having normally undesirable behaviors "normalized" by a supporting, deviant, community.

I'm looking forward to posting it for you, dear Internet, but given the ongoing debacle that is the debate regarding the veracity of my work, I'd rather not post it until I have the all-clear on the work for good, just in case the prof opts to run it through the internet looking for duplicates.

Regardless, I had another addendum strike me regarding the topic, something I wish I'd had a chance to add to the paper before submitting it - the norm-breaking effect of the desire for fame, and the constant push against boundaries in real culture and on the internet.

Within any community, the desire to stand out amongst the membership is a common desire, and is, by it's own nature, achieved by exceeding or excelling in some manner when compared to the norms of the community. In time, this desire to exceed and excel leads to a gradual progress of both eventual achievement and the norms of the community. Take wealth, for instance. Initially, being a Millionaire was a spectacular thing; and our society regarded highly those who reached such a point. Over time, however, the number of millionaires grew. It normalized, to an extent, and with every new millionaire achieved, such a feat became a little less special. Then, new heights were achieved. Someone amassed a fortune of 10 million dollars. Suddenly, there was a new achievement to accord, and combined with the increasing number of single-millionaires, a new bar was set. Being a millionaire almost stopped being the goal so much as it became 1/10th of the goal; being a millionaire became mundane.

Amassing wealth, however, is hardly deviant. But the attention garnered through excesses of wealth is akin to the attention garnered through excesses of debauchery and flesh, those of deviance and sin and the unnatural. Once, see, tattoos were the provenance of sailors and natives, they were unique and unusual and worthy of attention - the tattooed man or woman was a frequent attraction at sideshows and the like. As, however, the culture and the skills spread, it took more and more tattoos, and increasing complexity of the artform in order to render the tattooed individual unusual enough to warrant attention. Piercing, too, has undergone this gradual progression towards normalization, as increasingly unusual piercings start of as unusual and exotic, then become vogue, then finally, mundane, as the body-modification tribe migrates onward to the increasingly exotic and unusual. Towards the new.

This is the nature of celebrity on the internet - it rewards the strikingly unusual, the eccentric, the deviant. Those that are more different than the others gain attention, and the rest merely become more voices shouting hollowly into the faceless mob. Those driven by a desire for fame online are driven to ever-increasing heights and depths in order to stand out from the crowd - it is only by showing exceptional talent that one may innately stand out from the mass, and those without talent but retaining the drive for fame have only one recourse remaining to them; deviance and debasement, and in order to stand out in such a path, they needs must be more debased, more deviant than those before them in order to gain the attention they desire.

When tempered by the understanding that much that is notable online is the captured representation (photos, videos, and audio) of something occurring in the real world, it immediately becomes apparent how one's desire to stand out online can easily lead to real-life deviance; that is, one must be deviant in real life in order to have material by which they may stand out online.

The other genuine problem with the internet in this context is that the individual is not merely competing with the marginally-motivated geographical neighbours to them, but by the much more motivated and content driven internet communities; that is, to continue the body-modification theme, the level of "exceptional" when compared to an individual's geographical neighbourhood, say their city, their town, may be minimal - a few tattoos and a couple of atypical piercings should be sufficient to stand out from the majority, after all, not the entire city is interested in body-modifcation. However, the internet is communities of like-minded people, and extended to the real world in metaphor, how well would those "few tattoos and a couple of atypical piercings" lend an individual to standing out if their entire city or town were dedicated to body-modification? Not at all, is the answer, for those few modifications become minimal, the norm, amongst such a community, and thus, membership in an online community dedicated to like interests leads to deviance simply by the nature of the standards established within the community for what is exceptional. Without the internet, "competition" of this order would not be accessible to individuals only exposed to "normal" society.

The man who grew a finger

By Matthew Price
BBC News, Ohio

In every town in every part of this sprawling country you can find a faceless sprawling strip mall in which to do the shopping.

Rarely though do would you expect to find a medical miracle working behind the counter of the mall's hobby shop.

That however is what Lee Spievak considers himself to be.

"I put my finger in," Mr Spievak says, pointing towards the propeller of a model airplane, "and that's when I sliced my finger off."

It took the end right off, down to the bone, about half an inch.

"We don't know where the piece went."

The photos of his severed finger tip are pretty graphic. You can understand why doctors said he'd lost it for good.

Today though, you wouldn't know it. Mr Spievak, who is 69 years old, shows off his finger, and it's all there, tissue, nerves, nail, skin, even his finger print.

'Pixie dust'

How? Well that's the truly remarkable part. It wasn't a transplant. Mr Spievak re-grew his finger tip. He used a powder - or pixie dust as he sometimes refers to it while telling his story.

Mr Speivak's brother Alan - who was working in the field of regenerative medicine - sent him the powder.

For ten days Mr Spievak put a little on his finger.

"The second time I put it on I already could see growth. Each day it was up further. Finally it closed up and was a finger.

"It took about four weeks before it was sealed."

Now he says he has "complete feeling, complete movement."

The "pixie dust" comes from the University of Pittsburgh, though in the lab Dr Stephen Badylak prefers to call it extra cellular matrix.

Pig's bladder

The process he has been pioneering over the last few years involves scraping the cells from the lining of a pig's bladder.

The remaining tissue is then placed into acid, "cleaned" of all cells, and dried out.

It can be turned into sheets, or a powder.

How it works in detail

It looks like a simple process, but of course the science is complex.

"There are all sorts of signals in the body," explains Dr Badylak.

"We have got signals that are good for forming scar, and others that are good for regenerating tissues.

"One way to think about these matrices is that we have taken out many of the stimuli for scar tissue formation and left those signals that were always there anyway for constructive remodelling."

In other words when the extra cellular matrix is put on a wound, scientists believe it stimulates cells in the tissue to grow rather than scar.

If they can perfect the technique, it might mean one day they could repair not just a severed finger, but severely burnt skin, or even damaged organs.

Clinical trial

They hope soon to start a clinical trial in Buenos Aires on a woman who has cancer of the oesophagus.

The normal procedure in such cases is often deadly. Doctors remove the cancerous portion and try to stretch the stomach lining up to meet the shortened oesophagus.

In the trial they will place the extra cellular matrix inside the body from where the portion of oesophagus has been removed, and hope to stimulate the cells around it to re-grow the missing portion.

So could limbs be re-grown? Dr Badylak is cautious, but believes the technology is potentially revolutionary.

"I think that within ten years that we will have strategies that will re-grow the bones, and promote the growth of functional tissue around those bones. And that is a major step towards eventually doing the entire limb."

That kind of talk has got the US military interested.

They are just about to start trials to re-grow parts of the fingers of injured soldiers.

Skin burns

They also hope the matrix might help veterans like Robert Henline re-grow burnt skin.

He was almost killed in an explosion while serving in Iraq. His four colleagues travelling with him in the army Humvee were all killed.

He suffered 35% burns to his head and upper body. His ears are almost totally gone, the skin on his head has been burnt to the bone, his face is a swollen raw mess.

So far he has undergone surgery 25 times. He reckons he has got another 30 to go.

Anything that could be done in terms of regeneration would be great he says.

"Life changing! I think I'm more scared of hospitals than I am of going back to Iraq again."

Like any developing technology there are many unknowns. There are worries about encouraging cancerous growths by using the matrix.

Doctors though believe that within the so called pixie dust lies an amazing medical discovery.

A leading plastic surgeon today dismissed claims that a powder made from a pig's bladder caused the regrowth of a man's fingertip.

Professor Simon Kay, professor of hand surgery at the University of Leeds, said the claims by the US company that developed the powder were "junk science".

Lee Spievack, a hobby store salesman in Cincinnati, Ohio, has claimed the treatment stimulated the regrowth of his right hand middle fingertip, which was severed in 2005 by the propeller of a model plane.

Spievack, 69, described the powder as "pixie dust". It was developed by ACell - a company co-founded by his brother Alan, a former Harvard surgeon.

Within four weeks of using the preparation, he said his finger had regained its original length, and four months later "it looked like my normal finger".

But Kay, consultant plastic and hand surgeon at St James' University Hospital, Leeds, said Spievack's injury did not look to have been serious from studying before and after photos.

"It's a ridiculous story – absurd and over-egged in the extreme," Kay said. "It looked to have been an ordinary fingertip injury with quite unremarkable healing. All wounds go through a repair process."

ACell, the company behind the claim, said it had already used the extract of pig bladder to treat ulcers and other wounds, and to help regrow cartilage.

The powder was mostly collagen and a variety of substances, without any pig cells, said Dr Stephen Badylak, a regeneration researcher at the University of Pittsburgh and scientific adviser to ACell.

He said it formed microscopic scaffolding for human cells to occupy, and emitted chemical signals to encourage those cells to regenerate tissue. The signals did not specifically say "make a finger" but cells picked up that message from their surroundings, Badylak said.

"We're not smart enough to figure out how to regrow a finger," Badylak said. "Maybe what we can do is bring all the pieces of the puzzle to the right place and then let mother nature take its course.

"But we are very uninformed about how all of this works. There's a lot more that we don't know than we do know."

Kay said there was "no evidence" that ACell had manipulated the regenerative capabilities of the human body.

"There's no clinical evidence to support the claims," he said. "It really is junk science.

"If you could regenerate body parts like this, your first port of call would be a serious science journal like Nature because it would be a Nobel prize winning revolution."

British scientists have led the way in research into genetic treatments that could enable humans to regrow limbs damaged by accidents or surgery and allow patients to recover from wounds without scarring.

A charity, the Healing Foundation, which funds research into pioneering scientific techniques, set up a 25-year project in 2005 with the University of Manchester to advance the understanding of wound healing and tissue regeneration.

The Healing Foundation Centre aims to unravel the genetic quirks that allow certain amphibians, such as frogs and salamanders, to recover from severe injuries by generating fresh body tissue. By identifying the genetic mechanisms involved, the researchers hope to develop medical treatments that do the same in humans.

Professor Enrique Amaya, a tissue engineer at Manchester University and leader of the project, is investigating the regenerative capabilities of frogs. Frog embryos share the human embryo's ability to heal wounds without scars in a matter of hours. Frogs can also regrow appendages.

My goal was to get the job done with no hope of reconstruction or re-attachment, and I wanted some method that I could actually bring myself to do. I did experiments with animal legs I got from a butcher. It’s lucky I thought of that, because some of my early attempts were total fuck ups and would have ended up with a damaged hand which might have had to undergo years of painful reconstruction, and worse yet, no amputation.

Body Integrity Identity Disorder is a condition where a person has the desire to amputate one or more of their healthy limbs. It's one of those things that, not having it, is a little difficult to wrap your mind around. More so the fact that although some of the sufferers are willing to "fake" being an amputee with prosthetics and other equipment others actually cut off completely healthy limbs. This interview on the Body Mod Ezine site is with one such person. "Jason" faked an accident in order to get rid of his offending right hand and has been pretty happy with the results. A little strange, but I guess if the guy is happy, healthy, and not causing anyone any trouble then more power too him.

Saturday 19th April

I had a truly excellent birthday! The morning of my birthday I spent with Kester. He woke me up all excited and pulled my present out of its hiding place. He got me an 8 gig MP4 Walkman player and a new set of headphones. Kester had already put my music onto it so I could play with it immediately! Also on there is an amazing video that Kester and Thlayli had made with a birthday message on it.

Then, unfortunately, Kester had to go to work. Then I spent the rest of the day with my family. Most of my cards etc were at my parent’s house so I got to open those when I got there. I got some gorgeous cards featuring bunnies, kittens and handbags. I also received an amazing card by a fab girlie! It was hand made and featured a mermaid at the beach!!! So cool!!!

Then I went over to my Nan’s and had a great chat with her (I don’t do this enough!). Then two of my sisters came round with a gorgeous little boy in tow. I’m a very proud aunty!

For my birthday dinner we ordered in a curry, they made me a chicken-free tikka masala to order and it was lurvely! Although in typical Kirsty fashion I managed to spill loads of rice all over the floor, oops!

After dinner was time for my cake. It had ladybirds on it hooray! My Mum said she tried everywhere for a cake with mermaids, fish or rabbits on but couldn’t find one anywhere. But my ladybird cake was great!

Sunday 20th April

Kester and I stayed in bed being lazy until early afternoon until we finally decided to get up and go out for a Sunday lunch so we could spend the time together that we missed on my birthday. Then we searched several garages to find the recently released St. Trinians DVD. I loved the film when I saw it at the cinema and already bought the soundtrack so I had to buy it. I used some of my birthday money to pay for it.

Monday 21st April

Today I had my most recent tattoo appointment. First of all my oscar was finished and, wow, he looks just gorgeous! When he was all finished a start was made on my anchor which is on my chest, between my boobs. Definitely the most painful session to date. When I next go back I’ll get it finished but I can already see how amazing the final result will be!

Also there is now a piercer at Midnight Tattoo so I spent some of my birthday money and got my conch pierced. It ached for a period of time afterwards but it’s a piercing I’ve been waiting several years to finally get!

An excellent 3 days!

Shannon Larratt, the creator of BMEzine.com1 wrote a great article called “Does God Hate Your Tattoos?” several years ago. I visit BME often, and I read this article before I decided to get a tattoo. Shannon is not a Christian himself, but he did a little research and presented a few findings that are worth thinking about:

The Bible does not ban body modification.

The Bible makes it clear that God wants some people to be modified.

Body modification was common in biblical times, from simple (piercings) to very complex (eunuchs2).

After doing some of my own research, I got my first tattoo in November, 2005. I decided to have the Hebrew word, Sh’ma, written on the inside of my left wrist. Sh’ma is the first word in this passage of scripture, and also the word used to identify this scripture as well as a couple of other passages3:

Deuteronomy 6:4-9
4Hear, O Israel: The Lord is our God, the Lord alone.* 5You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might. 6Keep these words that I am commanding you today in your heart. 7Recite them to your children and talk about them when you are at home and when you are away, when you lie down and when you rise. 8Bind them as a sign on your hand, fix them as an emblem on your forehead, 9and write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates. (NRSV)

The Sh’ma is a declaration of faith, a pledge of allegiance to One God. I bound these words, in a very corporeal way, as a sign on my hand. I see the sign daily, and it is an affirmation that there is One God, and my life is wholly dedicated to serving the One.

I want to continue my journey in body art with a large tattoo of stained glass on my upper arm. Specifically, I want the design to follow that of the sanctuary at Meadowbrook United Methodist Church, where I grew up. The imagery of my human body being a sanctuary for God is very meaningful to me, and the art itself is beautiful and sentimental. It probably won’t happen any time soon, mostly because I just don’t have the money to invest in such a project right now.

Has your faith ever led you to body modification? What kinds of artistic expression have you used to explore or share your faith?

Vaya con Dios, amigos.

The Judge

1) BMEzine.com is a community that encourages the safe and informed pursuit of body modification. BME is an acronym for “Body Modification Ezine” and is pronounced “be me”.

2) Eunuchs are men who have been castrated. Some of them removed their penis. There are still men today who choose to modify themselves in this fashion.

3) Deuteronomy 6:4-9, Deuteronomy 11:13-21, and Numbers 15:37-41 are collectively referred to as “the Sh’ma”.

Its Monday here, so off to work i go - and to update at long last!

I was finishing and handing in an essay last week - the first essay i've written in several years, and i didn't try as hard as i could have, but i am reasonably confident that i will get a C at least, which is all i need. And now it is mid-semester break, YIPPEEEEEE!!! lol just had the bestest weekend, with no study hanging over my head, complete freedom to do whatever. It was great.

What else has been happening? Well, i got my tongue pierced on the 4th of April. Piercing and tattoos are things that you either totally get or you don't. I totally do. I had my tongue web done a few months ago (don't know what that is? Look under your tongue - its the flap that connects your tongue to the bottom of your mouth) which is a bit of an unusual piercing and quite fun to play with, but it is also really hard to keep clean. So i got that removed and got a much more standard tongue piercing instead. Yes, it hurts a wee bit, but much less than, say, biting your tongue by accident. The worst part is really the aftercare, coz your tongue swells up majorly for several days and its hard to eat. Fortunately i was well-prepared with mashed potatoes, icecream, soup and smoothies! My tongue looks much more normal now and i'm looking forward to getting the bar changed and getting some acrylic balls (much less likely to damage your teeth/gums.)

Summer is finally coming to an end here, it was the best summer in ages for people who like that sort of thing - i am not a summer person myself, i like my computer tan! In fact the sun here is quite dangerous, there is not much of an ozone layer over New Zealand so you get sunburnt really fast and we have high rates of skin cancer. Stay inside i say! ...anyway, the air is getting cooler and we are having a proper wet and windy day today which is the sort of thing i just love.

i might write more later, but for now, FINALLY the photos of the Inebriated Bunny Hats! The pink one is mine, and the brown one is he first attempt at my friend's one that i did in the wrong stitch (hence the massive ears.) The model is Mr Brown, who is a Famous Bear - if you ever saw that recent film of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (Narnia), you may remember the part where Father Christmas appears with gifts for the children? And when he opens his bag of goodies you see a big teddy bear head poking out - well, that was Mr Brown! I bought him from a teddy bear shop that i used to work at, and some folks from the movie set came and borrowed him from the shop to use in the film. He is a very level-headed bear though, and hasn't let fame affect him at all. he is also huge and perfect to cuddle those times when you just need a hug.

Update on the Lily Lolo quest -

I got a reply from them in my junk folder and accidently clicked 'mark as unsafe' which deleted it. I emailed them again, explaining I am a few shots short of the bottle (not literally). I got another very quick reply, which said that their current supplier cannot provide a FCOD, but that in June they are switching to a contract manufacturer because, amongst other things, they will have a FCOD.

I'm not sure whether to wait till June to see what happens, or buy from them now anyway, given that they soon will have a FCOD. I emailed them back saying as such.

Update on the titanium mavericks of DOOOOM aka microdermals:

They are shit.

In more eloquent terms, the one without a disc blew up to gigantic proportions (probably a blood blister) then settled down again. However, the skin is very purple and you can actually see the outline of the jewellery under my skin. That to me, is not a good sign, like my skin is paper thin or something.

The other one nearest my sternum still refuses to go completely back under and is all in out like the hokey kokey. I think I'm gonna bite a (slow) bullet. I'm very busy at the minute with university and fun things like funerals and helping my parents not look like BRITS ON TOUR for their 25th wedding anniversary hols to Antigua. I have virtually no free days to cart up to Sheffield, fall at Thou Art's door and yelp 'I don't want those two anymore, take them out and give me enough topical anaesthetic to kill a badger when you do it!' But I need to, soon. I'm scared though, it'll hurt like a mother.

Also, I'm putting together a post on (mostly Brit) print design on etsy.com, so yeah, lots of pretty pictures soon.

Yesterday was my tattoo appointment.

Firstly I think I should explain the nervousness I expressed in my video more thoroughly as to avoid confusion. With almost every single part of the development of my tattoo designs and modification projects I am a complete control freak. Due to this I've always loved the idea of coming across a custom drawn tattoo design that I think is gorgeous but not necessarily part of my overall project. It is this that I see as a sort of therapy; a temporary release from my anal retention and controlling side. This excellent design that I am going to get is an anchor that Alex drew and what is even better is that an anchor connects beautifully with my mermaid project. So while I love the design I was nervous because that little bit of control was taken away. I was nervous but they were positive nerves.

I couldn't decide whether I wanted to get the anchor yesterday or an Oscar (fish). I have a list made up of the order I want to get my tattoos in and these two images are tied so I asked which one Alex would rather do that day and we went with the Oscar.

And my oh my is it gorgeous! Currently unfinished but it already looks absolutely amazing! Oscars almost look like fire is smoldering under their scales and this comes though in my tattoo. Once again I just couldn't be happier!

Jeg er söt med pannelugg, derfor har jeg bestemt at jeg skal klippe pannelugg igjen. Hva tror dere? :*

Idag har vært en sløv dag. Sov til klokken var litt over halv 12. Gikk på skolen klokken 1245, men var ferdig igjen klokken 1400. : ) Var en tur i byen, fikk fikset stoff til den toppen jeg skal sy. Skal poste bilder en annen dag av det som allerede er ferdig. Venter forresten ennå på svar fra H2, make up artist linja.

Jeg har funnet ut at jeg vil ha snakebite, igjen. Sist gang jeg hadde det var de ganske langt fra hverandre, og tror jeg skal ha de litt mer inn mot midten denne gangen. Kanskje det blir fint?
