Chunx, a disembodied head that speaks, thinks, but apparently doesn't require oxygen to stimulate brain cell activity, is smuggled into the United States from Venezuela in the womb of a pregnant woman. Now there’s a new one for INS, but never fear! Airport security suspects something is amiss and forces Chunx’s smuggler to have an ultrasound. The woman becomes distraught and in true Alienesque fashion, rips her stomach open to reveal CHUNX (the character, not last night’s dinner). Of course, you’ll want to hurl Chunx if you’ve made it this far. Let’s think of other fun sentences with the name Chunx, for example: Silly vampire, Chunx is for zombies. But I digress.

Meanwhile, Blud, whose very name implies that he is as dense as a slab of concrete, must see hoards of zombies walking toward a common destination before he suspects something is amiss in his world. The zombies lead Blud to the vampires [yawn] who are set to battle the zombies who follow the evil Chunx. I think there were werewolves imbedded in the story somewhere, too, but they were hard to see in all the stringy body parts and blood.

The artwork is passable but so full of blood and Gutz that it becomes an offensive assault on the senses. It is violence merely for the sake of violence, the story is wretchedly passé, and the writing positively puerile (Heads up, Clive Barker fans, have I got a comic for you!). Anyway, save yourself Chunx of money and stay away from the City of Others!

Последниве денови во Грција беше актуелизирано прашањето за легализацијата на хомосексуалните „бракови“. Формата под која тоа најверојатно ќе биде изведено подразбира договор со кој ќе се регулираат односите и обврските на двајцата „партнери“. Ваквиот договор de jure ќе има статус на замена за институцијата брак... Целава оваа приказна ме стави на мисла за една работа – колку всушност ваквата „легализација“ на хомосексуализмот им „одговара“ на самите хомосексуалци?

Која е воопшто поентата во „легализацијата“ на гревот? Привлекувачката, задоволувачката сила на гревот (особено на блудот, под кој, како негова екстремна форма, може да се вброи и хомосексуализмот) во голема мерка се состои токму во неговата „настраност“ (тоа не се однесува толку на „забранетоста“, колку свесноста на човекот за отклонувањето од „нормалното“ кое се случува при починувањето на гревот). Би можело да се рече дека „сладоста“ на гревот е токму во тоа – да се прави неприродното и неприфатеното... Точно поради тоа и идејата за „легализација“ на гревот изгледа самата по себе противречна – со избришувањето на хомосексуализмот од листата на девијантни однесувања како да се избријшува и причината која повеќето хомосексуалци ги натерала на тој начин да се „ориентираат“. Просто хомосексуализмот станува дел од здодевното секојдневие! Човек ем греши, ем не го гледа тоа и згора на се пак му е – здодевно. 100% загуба!

Се вели дека „ѓаволот не сака задоволни грешници“. Врвот на ѓаволската „уметност“ е ем да не натера да згрешиме, ем од тоа никакво задоволство да не почувствуваме. Тој сака да не натера да станеме „ревносни“ во гревот, па дури и тогаш кога се мачиме како „грешни ѓаволи“, или полудуваме од униние и кога јасно гледаме дека точно гревот е тој што нè убива – сепак „стоички“ да останеме во него! Мислам дека нешто слично може да се каже и за прикаската со „хомосексуалниот брак“. Идејата е ем да се продолжи со чинење на гревот, при што истиот тој грев ќе биде „растеретен“ од својата „грешност“, а со тоа и од задоволстввото (колку и тоа задоволство да е прелестно) кое гревот го причинува...

Growing up is a lot about learning your families values and beliefs, you make it to Jr/Sr High (for some later) and the weirdness amps up and you realize just how differently others were raised from you. This weirdness is a confrontation and a revelation. Your upbringing is your foundation and you begin to build upon that foundation.

The Christian upbringing can lead to an esteemed view of oneself, this is the religious aspect that clamors with the disciple inside (Christ did not espouse or build within his disciples a belief in themselves or their own goodness, “Apart from Me you can do nothing.”). Religion, in the sense of a man striving for God on that man’s own terms of what God “truly wants” battles very much with the understanding that disciple = follower (one who follows, learns, obeys and loves Christ).

Kels and I have also discussed piety. Piety can be a chameleon, stalking as a “prayer concern”, attacking as “hard love” or perched as “an observer”. Piety gone wild can taint your perspective and sour your listening skills. This is a life-long battle, a strand of the inherited depravity. You see it when it turns on you, but you often over look it when it is you turning on others. (This is not to say that sin should not be called sin)

Jesus esteemed piety, he said, “Unless your righteousness exceeds that of the Pharisees…” But, why did the Pharisees have so much trouble with Him? He called their piety for what it was, SELF-righteousness. Christ came “to do the Father’s will.” Christ told His followers, “Follow Me.”

I fight for consistency but often ping between extremes (piety vs. debauchery). At the end of the day, the desire is for Christ, the path is directed by His Word, and it really boils down to Love God on God’s terms (not yours, not mine, not anyone’s but His).

Princess Bible pointed out that no matter what may happen in life, Jesus has the same control over all situations.  I thought this was a little odd for a devotional aimed at preschool girls, but it was a great point.  It's so true, we run around like the world is collapsing and where is Jesus?  Probably napping!

I know, he never sleeps...but the truth that Christ can speak a word and the world comes into existence, demons leave a man troubled by legions, a girl gets up from her death bed and the waves stop (just to name a few).  We've recently embarked upon a few intimidating paths and it was good to be reminded of the power of Christ.
