Lets face it, we want July to end. For all the nice (in theory) weather and breaks to various locations around the globe it's a somewhat empty time of the year. Sun, sea and sand isn't really much of a substitute for trudging towards the City Ground in the pouring rain, armed with a programme and burger (both of which so pricey you might as well have gone to Harrods) , all the while praying that Forest at least throw in a respectable performance.

Well, it's not in my bloody book anyway.

The new season is now tantalisingly close and after the delirium and surprise of last seasons final day we can be forgiven for wanting to get started again as soon as possible. Aside from Euro 2008's reminder of just how far away England are from even coming close to winning a major tournament there has been little to get even remotely excited about. When hearsay along the lines of "a Jehovah's witness just told me he saw Fonzie in the City Ground car park!" is enough to make you spend all day desperately checking the Official Site for a photo of the world's coolest delinquent sporting a Forest shirt you know you've got problems. He didn't sign either.

It's fair to say any loose crumb of something even vaguely resembling excitement will do, anything to keep yourself entertained during a season devoid of entertainment. Even this yawnsome article was written in an attempt to kill some worthless minutes as we build up to the new season. The emergence of pre-season doesn't help that much either, it's still like waiting for Nicky Eaden to finish the 100 metres. As the anticipation builds time slows...it almost makes you wish that you could buy a Tardis at your local car dealer.

Of course there are some who remain apprehensive about the start of the new season and it's hardly surprising. It's going to take more than a last day promotion to sway some doubters who, perhaps understandably, remain in entrenched in a mire of negativity and cynicism. It's fair to say the realisation that there aren't any 'easy games' on paper anymore would be enough to provoke a deep seated sense of unease in the most dedicated of optimist. Indeed, the opener against a team who were two divisions above us last season will prove a stern test of our credentials.

Slight negativity aside however, who cares? What does it matter if Reading currently have more proven Premiership players in their squad than we do? Who cares that for the first time in what seems like eons we won't be favourite for every game? The truth is we won't know anything till the season starts and that's what we all want at the end of the day, the start. It would signal an end to this useless speculation on our chances, an end to nonsense rumours hatched in a futile bid to keep us all entertained and, most importantly, an end to all this bloody tedium.

The fans are ready, I just hope Forest are.

Dear Bloggers Who Write Letters To Inanimate Objects,
Here’s the deal. It was probably cool

Dear Bloggers Who Write Letters To Inanimate Objects,

Here's the deal. It was probably cool and witty the first fifty or so times it was done. Now, all it is is annoying and unoriginal. I'm not at all wanting to take away from your love of whatever random object you feel the need to write a letter to, I'm simply suggesting that you find a better, perhaps unique way of expressing your affection.

Letter writing is already at an all time low due to our incessant use of all things electronic, but it's purely salt in the wound and kicking the man when he's down when you waste and mock such a classic, timeless form of communication.

I'm sure your coffee or suspenders or favorite pair of scissors or whatever will fully understand, and perhaps sigh a big "Finally... phew." when they open their respective mailboxes to discover them empty of your foolish praise, and they can get back to doing the activity they were created to do; cutting paper into beautiful shapes, holding pants up and making the wearer appear exceptionally cool, and caffeinating blood streams and alerting minds.

Sincerely, and with complete respect to your creativity and writing abilities,

9

......................

My Girl just text me, "I think I fell in love with you all over again last night."

That was good to hear after the week we've had. I've shared some of our troubles and issues and such, but it's always good to know that we can both dig in and handle and work through those times.

We had a "date night" last night, something we've been trying to do at least once a week. It really has helped us to stay connected in our busy, somewhat separate, lives.

A few weeks back I guessed that she was taking me to the zoo as my surprise. Well, I was right on with that guess. But not only did we go to the zoo, we rented a Swan Paddle Boat!

That's obviously not us, some picture I hijacked from the web, but that is exactly where we were. I even saw a tiger swat a bird out of midair and eat it. It doesn't get much more awesome than that for a day at the zoo.

Last week we watched the fireworks together. We were supposed to meet up with friends and hang on their boat, but they bailed, the jerkwads. But, we made the best of it with our night together.

We watched the fireworks from Belmont Harbor. It was kinda like this:

...only at night, and without that guy, and with lots of other people. But the fireworks are depicted extremely accurately.

And that brings us to last night, and a bit of a topic for discussion, if we may?

I cooked us an incredibly delicious meal. In fact, all of my meals are incredibly delicious, in my opinion.

We then had a martini at home before walking to my neighborhood lounge, Relax Lounge aka The Pharmacy. (which I'm sure you'll all be googling, so I'll help you out with this)

While enjoying our drinks, conversation turned interestingly toward sexual matters, past relationships, attractions, and all sorts of fun, good, deep conversation.

Eventually, the conversation became very intimate about us and our sex, which obviously turned me on, and lucky for me, her as well. We knocked out our drinks extremely quickly and ran home.

We than had incredible, fantastic, mind-blowing, bloody sex.

Yep, that's right, she's on the rag. Hanging with Aunt Flow for the week.

With any other girl, sex during this time was out of the question. In fact, I was appalled and gagging at the thought of it. But, I've been "educated" about such matters, and at this point it doesn't bother me at all.

I am aware of how much of a taboo topic this is though, with many ideas and views.

All I know is my Girl gets super horny while she's having her period, and I always am, so what's a little blood gonna hurt? Nothing.

Now, the first time, I was definitely freaked out. I expected to pull out with gallons of blood dripping from my manhood, and was surprised to not find much at all.

Plus, she's a bit, well, tighter?

I'm sure a portion of your are completely grossed out by this, but I'm sure some of you dear readers are on my side and understanding about this.

I don't know, maybe there's an unspoken rule I'm breaking by talking about such things.

.....................

In other news, my sister's coming to visit this weekend, which is gonna be great times fifty. Anyone up for a barbecue on Saturday?

I titled this blog post this because tonight I watched the UFC fight for the first time tonight.I have to admit that this is really not my cup of tea, but after while I started to enjoy it? I dunno, it's weird. I don't like fighting and blood and shit at all, but somehow I actually got into it. The rules really suck, because Rampage Jackson definitely should have won in my opinion but Forest did because of his silly soft kicks. Haha. Again, I know nothing about fighting, haha. For once, something I have no explanation for. I watched the event in East New York at my good friend Mel Honore's house (band member of up and coming band Pora! Pora!) and I actually had a good time. I had never been to East New York and it was truly an experience. Hahaha. Abe, also a band member of Pora! Pora!, was so into the fight that he wanted to actually fight afterward, it was hilarious. I took a few photos with my camera phone. haha. I'm a cornball, I know. Now we're heading to a party (random) and I plan to have fun.

bye nerds,

Okay, this video I ran across today brings back all sorts of wonderfully painful memories. Wonderful, because of a fun Newbies' Night with several youth workers that were part of our great volunteer team at the time (probably four years back or more)... terrible, because this was the evening that a student had unknowingly stepped on my horribly swollen toe (swollen from a drum set's ride cymbal falling onto it lengthwise just a few days earlier) and releasing a pool of "bloody mess" inside my sock and shoe.

This video details the unveiling of my toe back at the house, along with several of the team members that had followed us back home to watch. Gross, I know!

BTW, the reason that I stumbled across this today was that my good friend, Brandon Cannady, who filmed and edited this little masterpiece became a daddy to two twin girls earlier this afternoon. Congratulate Brandon here.

Take a gander at this here ridiculously extensive screening schedule for ten days of cranium-cleavin

Take a gander at this here ridiculously extensive screening schedule for ten days of cranium-cleavingly diverse cinema at the at the 12th Puchon International Film Festival. Watchables on offer include Yoshihiro Nishimura's completely bananas-looking Tokyo Gore Police (do yourself a favour and watch the trailer here; it's NSFW unless you're in a very open-minded workplace), a Gregg Araki retrospective, buckets and buckets of Asian genre movies, and a screening of Al Adamson's obscure kung fu/secret agent potboiler Death Dimension starring Jim "Black Belt Jones" Kelly, Harold "Odd Job" Sakata, and George "That one James Bond movie that no one ever seems to have seen" Lazenby.

(Almost in the vicinity of ironic, then, that Death Dimension was originally advertised with the tagline "The One Movie James Bond Himself Would Go See!" Somehow I picture ol'JB sipping vodka martinis in Monaco while responding to some lusty femme fatale's question, "Tell me, Mr. Bond, do you enjoy the cinema?" with a terse, "Not at all - I've got much better things to do in the dark," and not "Cinema? My dear, there is no cinema! There is only the Death Dimension!)"

Apparently Death Dimension (1977) is a different movie from Black Samurai (1978), even though both star Kelly and both apparently involve some sort of freeze bomb. I wouldn't be surprised if one reused at least a little bit of footage from the other; director Al Adamson, who foisted upon the world such multi-title stock footage purees as Horror of the Blood Monsters (aka Vampire Men of the Lost Planet), Blood of Ghastly Horror (aka Fiend with the Electronic Brain), and Dracula vs Frankenstein (aka Satan's Bloody Freaks), was notorious for such environmentally responsible filmmaking techniques. The admittedly none-too-reliable imdb has The Freeze Bomb listed as an alternate title for both Death Dimension and Black Samurai!

In David Konow's amusing Schlock-O-Rama: The Films of Al Adamson, the director's associates recall with some confusion the fact that he always acted as if he were 'getting away with something.' The only thing that confuses me is why they were confused - after all, the guy made a good living recycling the same footage over and over and not only managed to con people (like me) into shelling out perfectly good money for utter schlock, but into doing so several times since the stuff was listed under so many different titles! (Konow himself acknowledges this in an amusing introduction in which he recalls going to see Horror of the Blood Monsters at a drive-in unaware that he'd recently seen the exact same movie on TV under a different title.) Currently out of print, Schlock-O-Rama is worth tracking down, as are Adamson's Vampire Men of the Lost Planet and Dracula vs. Frankenstein if you're in the right mood.

Wandering back to the point, Legend of the Seven Bloody Torturers is screening as part of the Fantastic Short Film 5 program. The only non-Korean movie of the pack, Torturers screens alongside several shorts including the 20 minute comedy (I assume) called The Obese Family. Sounds pretty amusing: "Bong-ja's family goes to their father's funeral. Her father's coffin doesn't close because of his huge belly," but I'm slightly disappointed that the family doesn't appear to be all that obese, at least not by North American standards. They're definitely going to have to beef things up for the inevitable American remake. I should note that this is one of those festivals where they put the director's picture up with the summary and the guy looks fairly intense, so I'm going to stop right now and keep my gentle ribbing of TOF to a minimum.

Anyway, Legend of the Seven Bloody Torturers screens Mon July 21 and Thu July 24 at 11am at the Primus Cinema Sopoooong 8. More info here.

I'm most of the way through with Brian Ruckley's gritty, low-magic fantasy novel "Winterbirth," and I'm surprised how well this novel has pulled me into the story. Usually my fantasy tastes tend toward the weird and magical realism end of the spectrum, but Ruckley's got real talent, and so here I am singing the praises of this grim epic fantasy.

This is the "Godless World," meaning that the gods deserted humanity to its devices ages ago, and while most of the men of the various Bloods have accepted this - along with the rule of a power-hungry High Thane - as part of this pitiless world, a few rebellious Bloods have adopted a dangerously apocalyptic theology called "The Black Road," and are intent on conquering the land in its name.

"Winterbirth" is the first part of a trilogy, and If you like your fantasy novels bloody and political, rejoice: this is going to be your new favorite series.

Legend of the Seven Bloody Torturers is having its international premiere screening in the Fantastic Short Film section of The 12th Puchon International Festival of Fantastic Film. The festival runs from July 18-27 in Bucheon, South Korea, apparently home of both the Puchon Robo Park and the Korean Comics Museum!

Into this mecca of grooviness will enter two other Canadian shorts: The Laundromat directed by David Jacombs, summarized thusly in the program: "A young woman, driven to the limits of sanity, finds refuge in an empty laundromat as the city is overrun by ravenous creatures." Nothing quite so rundown and seedy as an empty laundromat, ravenous creatures or no - and it's a world premiere to boot. Also screening is Rodrigo Gudino's The Facts in the Case of Mister Hollow. This new short from the Rue Morgue founder and director of The Demonology of Desire and The Eyes of Edward James features Julian Richings of The Tracey Fragments, Cube, and Wrong Turn and looks pretty impressive from a visual standpoint.

I had been working on this piece for a while. It took me forever to finish the character and after it was done I didn't feel like working on the background. So I took a break... and then the break got longer and longer. I couldn't figure out what to do with the background and I also had to work on other projects more important at the moment. I think most of my problems in this piece were mainly due to lazyness.

So earler this week I decided to finish this piece and move on to other stuff I have in mind.

"Confined" is part of a 4-5 piece set named INSANITY.

INSANITY~(4-5 piece set)
- is the behaviour whereby a person flouts societal norms and becomes a danger to himself and others. - poor health of the mind

"Confined" is about being trapped with no real escape causing an apparent sickness of the mind.

PS:this post is about suicide banker not suicide bomber.

it happened at local time around 11am yesterday on 18th of june 2008

Suicide marks the new city-ness of miri. As a city becomes more and more developed, more suicide cases. Just look at Tokyo, London and New York. So with this case, it means that miri is more developed already( by least, the stressed level is more ‘developed’ already) [positive thinking la]

condolences to the family of this man and all that are affected including colleagues and family. as for the people that owe him money....... well......

Anyhow following the suicide, comes rumours, because there are we humans , haiz, that’s our nature. In addition, we have 40 plus aunties, and 60 plus apeks, that are champs at gossiping and spreading rumours,as for me I am good at spreading the peanut butter on breadpiece, oh yea. opps got carried away .....okay ,back to the suicide guy.

Rumours fake or facts:

1. he works at banker manager and suicide
2. he works at RHB , and is in charge of car loans besides office work
3. he is a old man that works the higher floors of pelita tunku

4. he have twin sisters which he informed before he kill himself

5. he have twin daughters which he left behind

6. he committed suicide because of job stress

7. he committed suicide because he wants to break the guiness book of records, the first man to suicide by jumping of skyscraping building. ( not really tall building to be skyscraping , but ‘skyscraping’ enough to kill you if you jump of it)
8. he suicide because he is the boss of pelita tunku and business is bad after boulevard, parkson and imperial mall came along.

9. he accidentally fall while cleaning the window at the 11th floor

10. he jump of rooftop of pelita tunku.

11. he fell off 11th floor accidentally

12. police suspects suicide but maybe he’s pushed down by somebody ( watch too much CSI or forensic files)

13. he committed suicide because of the fuel hike

14. he committed suicide because he can’t find a parking space in parkson

15. he committed suicide because he lost/owe a lot of money from euro 2008 bookie-illegal gambling

16. he committed suicide because his wife refused to have sex with him

Although women are twice as likely to attempt suicide then men, men are twice as likely to succeed in suicide. Well, you gals can be shop for longer hours than men or communicate your emotions better than men, but men can commit suicide better.Hurrah!!That is one thing to us men can be proud of, …. I think.

words of truth:

“ all humans aim to achieve happiness , even those that chose to hang themselves” (I forgot who said this already)

suicide is merely escape. studies have shown that many suiciders that survived their attemp suicide said theyt regret but they just somehow caught up in the moment to end their lives. treasure your life. Try to resolve that issue. Find support from family and friends. Quit your job. Take a vacation. See a psychiatrist Nothing’s too overwhelming. If you still think that suicide is the only way you want. Then at least, bestow your inheritance to me lah. Don’t waste. Your family look at your things also reminded them of your death, which makes them even more sad. So might as well, give it to me. i shall take on such burden for the better of humanity.

Many people : waseh you say untill lidat, not scared he come find you ah? If he find you what are you going to say to him?

Stephentong : i will say to him " eh, how you know I live here wan. You so lihai ah. Btw, no angpow lah, you want angpow come in Chinese new year. One question why ghost always green green face, btw how you float around and fly lidat. Okay here’s the deal, if you fly me to kuala Lumpur I will pay you RM69.99 just like I pay air asia, can ah? Cos’ if you fly me there no need surcharge and airport tax , cheaper mah."

lets have a minute of silence to pay a respect for him. all are free to pray for his mercy and soul.
if you want to cry , then let it out, dont hold it in ( but if you're in cybercafe , dont lah, paiseh leh, people look look at you , boh bin leh, you ane ane cry cry there)

Father's day has come and gone, and as a daughter I failed to be timely.

Cousins: Nathan 5, Lyndsey 8, and Allison 12; Aunt Connie and Uncle Jeff. These people plus my older sister Connie, younger sister Sally, and I, all had to be fed on fathers day, not to mention my dad. My aunt and uncle had been invited to a wedding, so they dropped their kids at our house for the weekend. Father's day evening they returned to eat and reclaim their offspring.

Meanwhile my mother, who would have been home helping us out, got a call from the hospital. A doctor my grandfather had been waiting to see had finally arrived, and they wanted her there to help discuss my sick grandfather's options.

Connie and I had planned to buy my dad a steak, but Connie's college friends were around for the weekend (further crowding our house) and I became a babysitter for Nathan and Lyndsey.

So gift giving didn't happen until yesterday. Last night.

Connie and I were the only two home and had sunk to lying under the dining room table, talking.

"Connie, why are you still talking to me? We need to be getting a steak!"

"yes, oh, yeah, okay. steak."

So we left the house and walked to giant. There we contemplated over which steak was the biggest and most expensive, while at the same time not TOO expensive, but one that was all nice and good. Connie eagerly picked one up and then gasped, "Ewww, blood is leaking all over my hands!" I laughed, she is my sister after all. That steak was not good enough for us, and a different, a better one, was chosen.

After choosing a steak we ventured over to the bakery. I found myself desperately wanting a big fat cookie. Connie wanted peanut butter oreos. My tastes then changed to chocolate covered pretzels. Connie agreed that chocolate covered pretzels are indeed tasty, but she chose to stand by the peanut butter oreos.

Bickering ensued, and in the end all we bought was a giant raw bloody steak.

The walk back home was merry. Very merry, exceedingly merry, to the point where we were loudly singing the country song "Friends in Low Places" with an extreme southern twang.

I only knew the chorus from my time visiting Uncle Bob in Tennessee:

'Cause I've got friends in low places where the whisky drowns

And the beer it chases my blues away, but I'll be okay

Yeah I'm not big on social graces, think I'll slip on down to the old oasis

Oh, I got friends in low places

We shamelessly belted the song, complete with exuberant gestures, and a swinging bag of raw meat.

Looking back we probably appeared very intoxicated, but it doesn't matter, what matters is that dad got his fathers day gift. And tonight we are having steak for dinner.

http://www.skreemr.com/results.jsp?q=Friends+in+Low+PLaces+Garth+Brooks&search=SkreemR+Search

Just make it to the chorus.
