Holi, piya aur bhang: traditional kavita Holi ki

Holi, a colourful festival, it has many beautiful aspects, old life were not so easy and liberal as we have now a days. Earlier holi was also one of the occasion where people used to meet their love on the eve of holi and because of holi. You can find many evidences in old books and records about same. Even old movies used to give an important place to HOLI songs. How hope by now you may have recalled many old holi songs picturized in Indian Cinema.

Today, I am rather trying something on holi again but this time I am trying with braj language ie. one of the traditional language of India. I do not have any command of this language but I wrote few lines below. These lines look more like a "Traditional Song" rather than small poetry.

So what is all about?
It is actually inspired from traditional songs where mostly in holi they talk about the girls waiting for their love to come and meet them on holi. It is infact one of the favourite topic of many traditional poets.

I am not sure if I should post it here or not but reading this in english font will need lot patience and understanding. Read it in rhym and then you will enjoy it.

Bhore bhayee tab se baithi taakat rayee,
Mhare piya ab toh aye,
Mhare ko ab koun bachay haye...
Mhare piya holi khelan aye,holi khelan aye!!

Holi ki aisi saam, liya prabhu ka naam,
Mhare piya ne pila dayi mohe bhaang
Mhare ko ab koun bachay haye...

Mhari naajuk kalai haye,
Bairi Piyan ki hathan mein mudti jaye..

Since this place is sharing my work be it pure Shayarana or be it a try on non-urdu , rather non-hindi but yes its my work so sharing is important. I am myself feeling little confused if it is something post here or not but I liked and hence sharing here.

Today is 14th February:The Valentines Day! Ek Kavita Hindi mein ..

Today is Valentines day, the 14th February, may be a day for lots of excitement for many. There are many stories regarding how Valentines day came in existence, however it is clear that there was a person named St. Valentines. But every year I see different story about the origin of Valentines Day. So in brief from the latest story I came to know about Valentines day, it was that in Rome in ancient times, a king for some reason imposed ban on marriage then it was St. Valentines who was helping people to marry and then he was caught. He used to say that there No Life Without Love. In cell, daughter of the King used to visit him as she was impressed a lot. He was sentenced to death by the king. Both gradually developed affection for each other and then the final day came. Just before his death he wrote a letter to the daughter of King.. the letter has final lines saying :

"Accept the Love of your Valentines"

So,may be I can write a small poem for the above story but in Hindi this time. As always, I am not regular to my this corner on the web. But atleast I should write something on day of love. I wrote on Independence day and few others so should write on Valentines day too.

व्यथा है, एक कथा है, प्रेम की सदैव यही प्र‍था है,
वर्ष बीते अनेक किंतु प्रेम बलिदान ने इतिहास रचा है,
प्रीत रीत उस भले मानस की,आज भी प्रेरणास्त्रोत उंचा है,

कितने राजे आये,प्रेम पंरपरा न डिगा पाये,
कोयल सी इस कूक को, गीदड़बग्घी से न उरा पाये,
कष्ट, पीड़ा की न सीमा,पर न कोई इसे मिटा पाये,

प्रेम दिवस है नाम दिया, संत ने जीवनदान दिया,
पाठ पढ़ाया, प्रेम बिना न कोई जीवन,
प्रेमपथ रोड़ा उस मृत्यु को भी सम्मान दिया,

व्यथा है, एक कथा है, प्रेम की सदैव यही प्र‍था है,
कभी रुप वेलेंटांइस, कभी जन मानस ब्यार,
बहती गंगा मानिंद ये प्रेम कभी न रुका है

So above was my little try, I know there are many who can understand hindi but can't read it so I am typing again in English fonts..

Beete varsha anek kintu prem balidan ne itihaas racha hai,
Preet reet uss bhale maanas ki, aaj bhi prerna srot uncha hai,

Kitne raje aye, prem parampara na diga paye,
Koyal si iss kook ko, geedarbhabki se na dara paye,
kasht,peeda ki naa seema, par naa koi isse mita paye,

Prem divas naam diya hai, sant nae jeevan daan diya,
Paath padhaya, Prem bina na koi jeevan,
Prem path roda,uss mrityu ko bhi samman diya

Kabhi roop valentines, kabhi jan-maanav byaar,

Desh k liye jisne vilas ko thukraya tha,
Tyag videshi dhage usne khud hi khaadi banaya tha,
Pehen k kaath ki chappal jisne Satyagrahe ka raag sunaya tha..
Desh ka tha anmol wo deepak jo “Mahatman” Kehlaya that.

You can use this poem to send via sms on 2nd October ie. the birthday of Gandhi Ji. Infact I wrote it sms only.

I wanted to way something on Independence day but really never completed it. I wrote few lines but now only remembers to complete it. Its still Independence day so I am not really late.
This time, will try pure Hindi so outcome may not be so perfect.

Bharat Maa Tujhe Pranaam

O maa teri hum santaan
Tune jo diya hume ..
Teri har den k liye tujhe Pranaam

Teri hi goad humari palanhaar
Natmastak hum tere
Maa ki mamta apaar

O maa tujhse hai prarthna
Ek sur me hum fir bandhe
Gunje fir ekta ki garjana

Jaise pushp sare ek daal k wasi
ke antarman mein ho sada
deshprem ki bhawna aisi

Kartavya sae naa koi hathe pare
Desh hith desh samman hetu
Nagrik harr ek desh ka aage bare !!

So that was the short simple Hindi Kavita, I wish to write more but seems I am already late and do not want to delay more. I hope readers are going to enjoy it.

Every other day I come up with few interesting lines and wanted to convert them into poems but I am failing in that again and again.

Kaise aage badhe hum jab
manzil hi hamari kahin peeche thahar gayi !
Gazur rahe thae jab uske paas sae..
na usne roka, naa usne awas di, sirf khamosh reh gayi !

The above one are those which I wrote few days ago, there are few others too but as new one comes, old ones lost there charm. Today I am thinking to complete above one ie. add something in them. So lets try:

Lets discuss that when one can write a good poem?
--> When he is just sitting to write a poem as per the given need like an professional poet given an assignment.

or

--> When he is so much deep into emotion that all it turns in to words... ?
I feel, none of above can get best out of that poet. Let me tell how, for first case-when one has to write as per need, then can not write at it best because feelings are not really true in that & for second "when one is so much into emotions" then emotion get over the person so much, then I don't think can really write effectively.
So when one can write at best ?
According to me when there is balanced mood ie. person is emotional and yes he has to write a poem then can give best out. How this works, well.. its that person starts writing as he has too, but as he gets into writing then emotions start taking over but can not take over whole as you were not really in emotional state.
So those were my views.
Today, I am thinking to try one, but I am not really in balanced mood, sometimes I find moving towards emotional side or sometimes I feel that I should write one.
Btw, thank you very much that you are still reading.

Word Poetry itself says a thousand of things, whenever you hear it, I am sure you can feel the waves in your mind of soothing words.

Today I have poem which is asking to get "Bezubaan" so that even if there is pain, can't express and because can't express so its intensity will not be same as always. We many times use "Bezubaan" for animals because they can't speak. Even if it is in pain, you can hardly guess it. If you want to feel then put yourself there to understand the force. Literally, Bezubaan means one who cannot speak.

So here is the poem:

Kash hum bezubaan hote,
Naa fir gham yun bayaan hote !!

Kash naa hoti zindagi ki samajh,
Naa fir yun afsaane jawaan hote !!

Kash naa khwahish hoti kuch paane ki,
Naa fir kuch khone k gham yahan hote !!

Gar tod jaata koi ashiyaaN humara,
Fir bhi khoobsurat saare samaan hote !!

Lut Jaati gar Roshni-e-zindagi,
Fir bhi andhere naa yahan hote !!

Toot-te hue bhi be-shubhaah hote !

I happened to compile following poem incidently, found it nice enough to share here.
This is about the problem of all PATIs (husbands) who has to face whole world but still Wives thinks that they are having fun outside and even doubt on them.
This poem is not really in any standard language, it is actually mixture of Hindi-Urdu-English to give it a humorous put ! I hope you shall enjoy it.

Subhah savere roz duty bajani hai, !
Thakaan ho yaa ho beemari ..
Lekin fir bhi hamesha yahi kahani hai, !

Soche kabhi toh, mile usse kuch araam,
Mile kuch rahat in bandishoN se ..
Use lekein fir bhi sada fileN banani hain !

Chilchalati dhoop mein roz usse hai jana,
Lut-ta chaein uss pyari neend kaa..
Lekin logoN ko lage ki mast zind-gani hai !

This one is little more experimental from me, you can see I have tried some poetic sense which may not sound poetic to many but I find it nice. I wrote it when I was not really thinking to write anything. Bass.. Shayarana andaaz ho gaya hai.
The lines below are about the life which when changes then can ruin everything on the other hand its also a phase of life which one may face anytime and can't blame anyone !!

Kitna shaur tha, kitni garmahat thi mahaul mein !
Hass rahe thae woh aur khushi thi hamare bol mein !
Ki ek angraai lee zindagi ne, apni taaqat dikhayi !!
Dhamm sae dhamak dee,achanak Khamoshi Chaayi !!

Chhayi aisi khamoshi ki phir naa koi dastak kaam aayi !
Thamm sae gaye kadam, koi raah bhi samajh naa aayi !!
Nazar lagi kisi-ki yaa ye pehlu ek aur inn rahoN kaa...
Jisne bujha di lau woh jis pe thi kabhi zindagi jhilmilayi !!

एक तन्हा मुसाफिर था,
राहों पे यूं चलते हुये
अपनी ही धुन में ग़ाफिल था

आयी लहर थी कुछ सपनों की,
नए राहें रौशनी उसने भी
देखी थी वहां झलक अपनों की

अन्जान न था वो दुनिया के दस्तूर से,
वो टूटते जज्बो़ से देखे
इन्सानी चेहरे होते बेनूर से

फिर शामिल वो भी था उस जमात में,
बनते जहां कम ही फसाने
पर मिटते ज़रूर चन्द क़दमात में

था कभी मशगूल अपनी ही बातों में,
चाहें हो तन्हा वो लेकिन
त‍ल्लीन था अपनी ही सौगातों मे

आया फिर एक हवा का झौंका,
बनते हुये तमाम एहसास
अलफाज़ को ऐसा उसने रोका

और भी तन्हा दिन,अकेली रातें थीं,
तन्हा तो वो था पर अब
उसकी अपनीं तन्हाईयां भी न उसके हाथों थी

एक बार फिर तन्हा मुसाफिर था,
झूठे हुये सारे माइने
टूट चुका जिंदगी का उसकी नाफिर था

It happens so many times that I am hungry or its time for food and I am sitting on internet, moreover there are then few lines .. few good lines striking in my mind and I want to make some poetry using them. You know that when you have a Shayarana Mizaaj then kabhi bhi.. kahin bhi good lines can strike your mind, either write them down instantly or loose them.
I had few lines in my mind a moment ago but I am hungry also.. also its late and I must take food but in all this .. I forgot those lines..

So I am thinking to write few lines on this situation..

Jab ikShayar ko bhook lagti hai..
Machalti hai tabyat.. jab bhook lagti hai..
Karti hai khilwaar woh mere khayaloN se..
Per Zaruri bhi hai jo bhook lagti hai !!

Dekhiye kitne ajeeb waqt pe bhook lagti hai,
Tasavvur ek behtreen nazm magar bhook lagti hai...
Bhula jaati hai sare piroye thae jo lavz
Lagti hai toh itni shiddat sae bhook lagti hai !!

Soche ikShayar jo usse bhook lagti hai..
Kaise karun Nazar andaaz jo bhook lagti hai..
Chale meri kalam, meri zindagi ki zarurat..
Ji haan.. Bahot zaruri hai hume bhook lagti hai !!

Bole mera andar ka badan jab bhook lagti hai..
Kahna ye nazm baad mein,isse ab bhook lagti hai..
Uthe ab hum, kare kuch bohot Zaruri kaam,

And.. just to tell you all, I am real hungry, shall write it again in Devnagri script after doing such a important work.. ie. Eating !

Pyar ki paimaish ek sms mein

I was asked by my friend to write few lines for him & he wanted to send those line to someone special for him. He simply asked that how can he show that his Love for someone is everything.
I made few simple lines and are below :

Chand lavz hum ukere kaaghaz pe,
K ik farmaish farmai unhone !!
Likh diya naam hi unka humne,
Jo maangi pyaar ki paimaish unhone !!

अब इसे देवनागरी में लिखें तोः

चंद लव्ज़ हम उकेरें काग़ज़ पे,
के इक फरमाइश फरमाई उन्होनें !
लिख दिया नाम ही उनका हमनें,
जो मागीं प्यार की पैमाइश उन्हानें !

So, I will explain it now, here she asked him to write something about intensity of his love for her. So.. He wrote her NAME because for him.. even her name means LOVE, devotion & dedication.. !!

Chubhi hai ek tanz seene mein(Pain poetry)

These days, I am not really finding time to write any poem. I heard that people write when they are sad or disturbed / happy or in joy but with me, if I am sad.. or too happy then I can't write anything. :) Every poem I write is outcome few lines which floats in my mind and then I convert them into a Poem.
Prior to this, there was a nice POEM I wrote but got lost somehow. Someday, I will continue it.

Today, ikshayar is again thinking to write on the pain you feel inside you which appears if something is hitting hard on your heart. Hindi mein.. Seene mein jaise kuch chubhta hai. Title I have chosen is "Chubbi hai tanz seene mein".
Reason of such pain can be anything so lets get started. ..

Hume malum hai ki koi nahi jaanta,
Hume malum hai ki kisi ko nahin shubaah,
Ki Dard hua iss dil mein..
Chubbhi hai ek tanz seene mein, Kisi ko nahi pata !!

Zakhm hua ab gehra, Mili ek hai ek saza,
Gunehgaar bane hum, koi thi nahin khata,
Ki Dard hua iss dil mein..
Chubbhi hai ek tanz seene mein, Kisi ko nahi pata !!

Kisi nae nahin jana, zamane ab aur na sata,
Saans atki hai halaq mein,iss fande ko hata,

I am again with a poem. This time its about JUDAI.. and a most common scenerio where people takes care about someone a lot but the other one always doubts.. that he is not given proper importance. Hence describing feeling first one when things get too messed up.

Aisa hi hota hai...
K jisko jitna sambhalo..
Utna hi door chala woh jata hai !

Yakeen naa aaye ek bargi,
Lekin aisa wakyaa bhi hota hai ...
Rota hai koi tootkar tanhai mein,
Phir bhi duniya mein woh hasta hai ...

Lagta hai jaise mitai thi hasti,
Sab jaise ab hara hua sa lagta hai ..
Jaane kitne wade liye-diye,
Chhootne pe sab bojhil sa dikhta hai...

Aisa hi hota hai..

These two lines are inspired by a news published yesterday in News paper. In that a boy killed his lover because he loved her a lot but she was always having doubt on him. Brief of story was that, boy was fed up of giving proof of his loyalty for her & she was not giving back her same level of affection as the boy was giving.
Well, a sad end to a love story. Anyways, these two lines describe the pain of boy...

Dee jo itni mohabbat, phir bhi di usne ruswai...
Nahi kismat unke yeh ibadat, usse izzat naa raas aayi !!

Today, I am thinking to write a poem on the mood of love. Those moments when you find everything of your love ADORABLE, even complaints, everything is full of romance or rumaniyat.

Yun muskuraya mera dil, Ki tujhpe pyar aaya ae mere dil,
Tuhi toh hai woh mera dil, Dhadkane jiski yahan mere dil,
Mere ankhon mein tuh jhaank, mohabbaat sae zyada mohabbat,
Dil ki woh aag dikhegi tujhe jo hai sirf tere liye ae mere dil..

Dil ko seene mein dabaye rakha per dhadakta sirf tere liye ye dil,
Tera toh naam hai mere iss dil, awaas teri bhi yahan hai iss dil,
Aaaja mere tuh iss dil, ki mil jayen phir yeh do dil,
Tujhko phir na karne dun mein shikwa ki humdono hain ek dil !!

Now you might find it confusing but just read it again with the fact in mind that I am using "dil" for my heart as well "dil" to name my loved one. Now Hope you can see the beauty :).

I hope my reader like reading me. Today, I thought to write something for SMS. Then here is a SMS Shayari which can be used to say that no matter how you play with my feelings, no matter

Kaifiyat yun naa rahi teri ki tuh mere gham mein sharik ho...
Hum jo thae woh rahe ghaafil mohabbat ki ruswaiyon mein !!!

Now I am thinking that why not give little description about two above lines which I have posted ...
In those lines the poet is saying that the whom she loves never understood the truthfulness of his love for her and now according to him , because she is not even able to feel the depth his love then she can't even understand his pain.
Further in next line, poet says (thats me) that , despite of lots of difficulties of love, never realized that there is no value of her deep feelings for her and still the poet was so much into it that he got virtually blind for other things.

NOTE: These are just two lines, nothing personal in them ie. these are not related to my life.

Title of my poems are usually long like movies of Karan Johar :) . But actually I want it to be descriptive as much as possible and also it will be good in for readers to decide to go for it or not though I want people to read my all poem and give their reviews as well suggestions on it.

निम्नलिखित कविता को आगे हिन्दी (देवनागरी) में भी लिखुगां|

So inspiration of this poem is like this..
I had not much chance to travel through railways but recently, I had to drop one of my known one to a railway station, In India its usual in delay of trains and hence this train was on platform for half hour opposed to its 10 mins expected stay. I was talking to that person for half and it was a not so busy station, more over it was late night then.
Everything was crowded & lots of movements because of that but once it left platform...

My poem is all about that ..

Jaa chuke hain sab aur wahi khamoshi chaayi hai,
Pasara hain har oar sannata, tanhai muskurai hai..

Chhoot chuki hai rail,
Chand lamho ki toh baat thi,

kya raunak thi yahaan,
Jaisi Saji koi mehfil khaas thi!!

Ajnabi thae chehre saare,
Phir bhi unse mulaaqaat thi..

Bheji thi kisi ne apnayiyat,
Salam mein woh kya baat thi..

Ek pal thae aap Jaise Kausar,
Ab bachi akeli raat thi...

Chalo ab laut chale yahan sae,
chhoot chuki hai rail
Yeh ab guzari baat thi...

Urte kaghaz,karte bayan,
Inki bhi kisi sae ,
do pal pehle kuch baat thi...

Barr chale kadam,
kanare un pateriyon
kahani jinke roz ye saath thi...

Phir aayegi dooji rail,
phir cheeregi ye sannnata,
jaise zindagi sae phir mulaqat thi...

phir luatenge aur ,
bhari kadmo sae, jaise
koi gehri see baat thi.

Chhoot chuki hai rail,
Ab sirf kaali syaha raat thi.

अब इसी कविता को देवनागरी में लिखा गया है

जा चुके है सब और वही खामोशी छायी है,
पसरा है हर ओर सन्नाटा, तन्हाई मुस्कुराई है,

छूट चुकी है रेल ,
चंद लम्हों की तो बात थी,

क्या रौनक थी यहॉं,
जैसे सजी कोई महफिल खास थी,

अजनबी थे चेहरे सारे,
फिर भी उनसे मुलाक़ात थी,

भेजी थी किसी ने अपनाइयत,
सलाम मे वो क्या बात थी,

एक पल थे आप जैसे क़ौसर,
अब बची अकेली रात थी,

चलो अब लौट चलें यहॉं से,
छूट चुकी है रेल
ये अब गुज़री बात थी,

उङते काग़ज़, करते बयान्‍,
इनकी भी किसी से
दो पल पहले मुलाक़ात थी,

बढ़ चले क़दम,
कनारे उन पटरियों
कहानी जिनके रोज़ ये साथ थी,

फिर आएगी दूजी रेल,
फिर चीरेगी ये सन्नाटा
जैसे जिन्दगी से फिर मुलाक़ात थी,

फिर लौटेंगे और,
भारी क़दमों से,जैसे
कोई गहरी सी बात थी,

छूट चुकी है रेल,
अब सिर्फ काली स्याहा रात थी |
