Els contractes per tenir accés a aquestes revistes s'enduen una part molt important del pressupost de les biblioteques universitàries ja que constitueixen, sense cap dubte, una part vital de llurs col·leccions.

Doncs bé, al meu entendre els bibliotecaris no estem prestant l'atenció que caldria a aquest conjunt del fons de la biblioteca arribant al punt que, o bé no integrem aquests títols al nostre catàleg, o bé ho fem de forma deficient. Fa temps que ho penso i fa temps que mantinc discussions, a voltes abrandades, sobre aquest tema.

Recentment, una sessió formativa sobre MARC21 on els experts no aportaven ni una reflexió sobre com descriure i codificar les diferents versions d'una revista electrònica, essent aquest un tema de màxima importància per guiar als nostres usuaris cap a la 'còpia' adequada i que ens permetria donar un valor afegit real a través del catàleg, em va decebre profundament.

No pot ser que apliquem normes precises a la descripció de detalls irrellevants dels documents tradicionals i no siguem capaços d'advertir als nostres usuaris que la versió de Nature a ca l'editor és molt més rica que el pdf o l'html que trobarà a través dels paquets d'intermediaris que també tenim contractats. I que a més no estem preocupats perquè no ho hem resolt. Ens estem equivocant i potser ja fem tard per redreçar la situació. D'altres professionals faran el catàleg que els nostres usuaris necessiten. Quina llàstima!

Ahir va ser visitada per professors i alumnes i podreu veure'n les fotos aviat (demà passat, per ser exactes). Hem esperat fins avui per comentar-vos l'entrega dels premis 'Favoritos en la red 2008' (vegeu entrada anterior) perquè volíem esperar fins que diariomedico.com publiqués el número especial amb la informació i les fotos del 'evento', i amb uns articles molt interessants. I aquí el teniu, a 'Fotos del día ->Ver más fotos. També han publicat una breu entrevista (Multimedia -> Los medicos hablan: ¿Qué buscan los facultativos en internet) que ens van fer preguntant-nos què aportaven les webs/els blogs als nostres usuaris (i als professionals). Sigueu indulgents...
I avui hem rebut un logo (ells en diuen 'el sello que acredita que vuestra web ha sido galardonada con el Premio 'Favoritos en la Red') que ja veieu afegit a la plantilla del bloc.

Només comentar-vos que l'acte va aplegar a molts professionals del sector, sobre tot editors dels webs guardonats, que el cóctel va ser boníssim, que Madrid està molt net, però, sobre tot, que els redactors de diariomedico van ser molt cordials amb nosaltres i fins i tot ens varen portar amb un taxi a visitar la nova -i fantàstica- seu de Unidad Editorial, grup editor de moltes altres publicacions, i ens varen explicar com editen la versió digital de la seva publicació. Des d'aquí els tornem a donar les gràcies i de segur que ens mantindrem en contacte.

Finalment, donar-vos les gràcies a qui ha fet possible aquesta escapada de dos dies i a tots els què personalment o amb els vostres comentaris a l'entrada anterior ens heu felicitat. Tot plegat ens dona ànims per seguir endavant amb la feina de cada dia.

Des del blog d'Històriadelamedicina.org ens arriba la notícia d'un recurs important per aquells estudiosos de les malalties infeccioses i epidemiologia: Es tracta de Contagion: Historical Views of Disease and Epidemics.

Una biblioteca digital que inclou recursos en accés obert de la Universitat de Hardward i amb continguts també de la Biblioteca Francis A. Countway del Centre d'Historia de la Medicina de Harvard. Inclou diferents seccions: Base de dades amb mes de 5000 pàgines de documentació accessible en línia; Un "Timeline" o Cronologia de fets rellevants sobre història epidemiològica. La pàgina de cerques permet navegar per temes (Texts, Early Printed Books, Manuscripts, Broadsides, Images y Topics/Genres), o buscar per títols, nom, tema o gènere, o tots a la vegada. També admet operadors boleans. Una altra possibilitat interessant és que es pot buscar a text complet. Si s'escriu una paraula o frase el cercador retornarà una lista de enllaços ordenats per rellevància que porta a les pàgines que les contenen.

La biblioteca de Sort ha creado una página web para facilitar toda la información relacionada con la biblioteca a sus usuarios como las novedades o los servicios o el fondo de la biblioteca. Al entrar en la página www.bibliosort.cat los usuarios pueden conocer desde los horarios hasta los requisitos de préstamo o lo que se debe menester para hacerse el carnet. En el apartado Quiosc virtual los usuarios pueden conocer las revistas que va incorporando la biblioteca a diario.

La nueva web de la biblioteca de Sort recibe 3.000 visitas

La página web de la Biblioteca Municipal de Sort ha recibido más de 3.000 visitas desde su estreno ahora hace seis meses. La página tiene un dominio propio, www.bibliosort.cat, está diseñada mediante herramientas gratuitas y permite consultar el fondo disponible y sus novedades, que se actualizan diariamente. La información se completa con un directorio de enlaces sobre el municipio y la comarca.

La biblioteca com a plató de publicitat, cinema i televisió

Vàreu veure en el seu moment el documental Marró: la vida secreta de la bellesa"? Es va emetre dins el programa Colors en sèrie, de Televisió de Catalunya i tots els que heu estat a la nostra biblioteca la podríeu identificar fàcilment al documental.

Això ve al cas per aquesta notícia al web del CRAI on s'explica l'interès creixent per part d'algunes productores i programes televisió en utilitzar la Biblioteca de Lletres com a plató:

"No és cap novetat que les nostres biblioteques es converteixen ocasionalment en platós de cinema i televisió. El que no és tan habitual és que s'hi realitzin moltes filmacions en poc temps, com és el cas de la Biblioteca de LLetres.

La última pel·lícula de Gómez Pereira ha passat per les sales de la secció d'Hispàniques, el Canal 9 ha gravat algunes escenes del documental Jaume I, el rei dels valencians, i el programa de llibres de La 2 Página dos s'ha gravat a la sala Torres Amat.

D'altra banda, el capítol sobre ergonomia de l'estudi del programa Salut de TV3 que s'emetrà al maig s'ha gravat a les sales de Grec i Reserva. També BTV grava les nostres sales de lectura en èpoques d'exàmens.

Altres notícies ja gravades o que es gravaran tenen a veure amb Ramon Llull (TV3), la revista 'Destino' (Canal 33), Al filo de lo imposible (La 2), Gente (TVE), el documental Gaudí per a la TV pública del Japó, etc.

La Biblioteca de Lletres ven o es ven d'aquesta manera sempre que el producte final sigui d'interès. És una opció més del màrqueting a les biblioteques que ens permet difondre més àmpliament tot el seu potencial. "

El escritor Juan José Rodríguez presenta su último libro en Sort

La Biblioteca Municipal de Sort fue el escenario ayer de la presentación del libro Creo que no lo soñé. El autor, madrileño de origen y residente en la capital del Pallars Sobirà desde hace años, expone situaciones cotidianas que nublan nuestra juicio y da soluciones para salir del paso.

Al darrer Butlleti del Servei de Bibli oteques de la UAB "Biblioteca Informacions" s'ha publicat un article sobre la bibliografia veterinària que gestiona la Biblioteca de Veterinària de la UAB. Amb el títol "Fons Veterinari del segle XIX", Vicenç Allué fa una breu pinzellada a les característiques d'aquest fons i els seus elements mes representatius. Confiem que això animi a dinfondre i a coneixer millor aquest fons, encara molt petit pero de gran interes pels historiadors i investigadors.

Manifest per l'increment de les col·leccions de les biblioteques públiques valencianes

«I per tot el manifestat, els sotasignats, associacions professionals vinculades al llibre i a la cultura, des la producció literària i plàstica a l'encontre llibre-lector a les biblioteques, passant per l'edició, la distribució i els punts de venda, demanem a les Administracions implicades que habiliten tots el recursos —econòmics i administratius— perquè puga signar-se i executar-se el conveni entre el Ministeri de Cultura i la Conselleria de Cultura i Esport per a l'increment de les col·leccions de les biblioteques públiques corresponent a 2008 amb la seua dotació màxima de 4.444.142 €, aportats solidàriament entre ambdues Administracions. Considerem que és una exigència legítima de tot el sector del llibre per tal de defensar uns avantatges culturals que estan en perill.»

Biblioteca Pública Municipal de Muskiz: han implementat moltes de les tecnologies de la web 2.0, a banda de realitzar tasques d’alfabetització amb aquestes eines i impulsar la sindicació de continguts.

Biblioteca Universitaria de Sabadell: difon la informació al seu blog i ofereix enllaços d’interès a través de del.icio.us.

—Ara no, potser més endavant...

—És clar que no, però són meus.
