Well nowadays there are things that we all try to look when considering modern furniture. Modern furniture is generally a movable object made of wood, metal and now plastics too, with a unique and edgy design into it. They solve the purpose of comfort, storage, and style too. Today, maximum use of modern furniture is in human comfort, sitting, sleeping or just laying, there are different types of modern furniture to cater each purpose. Earlier movable storage furniture was in great demand and tradition was to use them only. But with stress on style, design and interior decoration, people are now using permanently made closets and shelves fixed with the wall of houses. Modern furniture is also a product of artistic design and often used as a form of decorative art. In other words, it is something that we always have in our home and sometimes something that we aspire to have in our homes. I mean who wouldn’t want modern furniture in their home to have and use.

Now, with the change in time the house is not confined to four walls. But it is the modern furniture’s which dominates. Just as there is house with no members staying. Modern furniture fulfills the emptiness in the house. With beautiful house combination of elegant furniture enhances the importance of the house. It is said that with all of them comes the great value for a home as well. Think of something that has an edge in your home and can find the right holes to fit as well. Most of the time modern furniture comes in demand solely because of the growing knowledge that it has the edge in a modern home as well. It is also quite well known to people to consider it as an investment for the future.

We all know and aware that after working long at office it is the home where one gets peace of mind. It is the home where we can get comfort and feel relaxed after our hectic work schedules. Comfortable and good looking modern furniture’s are helpful in providing peace of mind and relaxation after working aggressively. Modern furniture’s not only give an everlasting and elegant looking but also tell about the nature of man. More social and fashionable a person is more will be his style of living. This collection of modern furniture at home perfectly displays one's style of living. Not only that but modern furniture signifies a lot and some says that it also represents your personality and mood. A lot has to be because it is where we can express ourselves; we can explore styles and design that eventually will be a perfect fit for you home as well.

Like I always say all the time, home is the place where heart of man resides. So, home should be such that it should take men away from all his worries. Rather it should provide him new energy to start new life every day. Modern furniture at house from sofa, dining table, wardrobe, to bed all has its own importance. Though, with change of time new fashion and style of furniture has immerged. Like Antique Living Room Furniture, Modular Furniture, Victorian Living Room Furniture, Rustic Living Room Furniture, Traditional Living Room Furniture or casual furniture, to create home environments that reflect their own individual sense of style and sophistication. Still it is up the home owner to decide on that, there are things that are being considered on this and if you think that you know what you want you can decide on what to have, frankly modern furniture are something that mirrors our personality.

I was on MSN this morning and found this article regarding 12 makeup mistakes that women make. I am sure I have broken all of them at some point..maybe all on bad days. Here is the list for you to check over. Maybe I will see you in makeup jail too :)

(Taken from http://lifestyle.msn.com/beautyandfashion/makeupandskincare/article.aspx?cp-documentid=8621979&GT1=32001)

The Dirty Dozen: 12 Makeup Mistakes You May Be

Making

By Sally Wadyka

In an ideal world, you would have all the various makeup products you want, have the time and money to update them each season and have the skilled hand necessary to apply them flawlessly. But even if that’s not the case, there are simple fixes you can try to help correct the most common beauty wrongs. “Makeup is a wonderful tool to enhance your look, but used correctly, it should never look fake or like you’re wearing a mask,” says New York City makeup artist Jessica Liebeskind. Here, the makeup mistakes many women routinely make, plus how to do it right.

1. Wearing too much (or too little) makeup.
“Your makeup should be time and place appropriate—so what looks perfect for a big evening event shouldn’t be the same as what you put on to go to the grocery store or the gym,” explains Liebeskind. When you consistently overdo your makeup, you run the risk of looking like you’re trying too hard. Toning it down a notch—for a more natural look—will be a better option for every day. On the flip side, Liebeskind cautions against being so afraid of looking fake or overdone that you skip makeup altogether. Her prescription for the perfect minimal makeup: A good moisturizer, under-eye concealer, blush, curl your lashes and add a sweep of lipstick or gloss.
2. Never updating your colors, products or techniques.
Still using the same eye shadow, blush and lipstick shades you fell in love with when you first started wearing makeup? Well, unless that was just last year, chances are you’re long overdue for a trip to the makeup counter. “Just like you pay attention to which jeans are currently in style—and feel outdated if you’re still wearing bootcut when the look is straight-leg—you need to pay attention to makeup trends,” says Liebeskind. That’s not to say that you have to toss and replace all your makeup every season, or that you have to wear bright red lipstick just because that’s what the models were sporting on the fashion runways. You can find ways to make the trends your own (perhaps swapping your circa 1990s brown-toned lipstick for a wine-colored stain if reds are in fashion) so that your face looks as stylish as your wardrobe.
3. Using the wrong color foundation.
You could have beautiful skin and perfect application technique, but if you’re wearing a foundation that doesn’t exactly match your natural skin tone, the results are going to look awful. By picking a shade that’s an exact match, you’ll make it very easy to get a flawless looking face. To find the right one, Liebeskind suggests trying on three—pick the one you think is the closest color match, and also try one shade darker and one shade lighter. Go to the makeup counter with no makeup on, and swipe the three shades in stripes that run from your cheek down to your neck. As you blend each one into your skin, look for the one that blends so effortlessly it literally just disappears. That will be your perfect match.
4. Over-tweezing (or ignoring) your eyebrows.
“The brows are such a central and important feature on your face,” says Liebeskind. “And when they’re well groomed they can enhance your eyes and your entire look.” If yours are out of control, it’s worth the time and money to let a professional take tweezers to them. Get a referral from a friend in order to find someone you know will do a good job. The worst thing you—or a pro—can do is to take off too many brow hairs. “As we get older, the brows naturally become more sparse, so if you tweeze your brows too thin, they might never fully grow back,” warns Liebeskind. If you follow your brows’ natural arch—but clean up the areas over, under and between brows—you’ll find the best shape. Visit a pro for a tune-up every few months and you should be able to keep them groomed on your own in between.
5. Wearing a rainbow of eye shadow shades at once.
Just because your compact came with four or more colors packaged together doesn’t mean you have to paint them all onto your eyelids at once. In fact, Liebeskind recommends using no more than three shades at a time—a medium shade on the lids, a lighter one to highlight the brow bone, and the darkest as a liner for the top and bottom lids. For a simpler, everyday application, you could skip the liner and just use a single light shade all over the lids up to the brows.
6. Not caring for your skin.
All the makeup in the world can’t compensate for skin that isn’t well primed. In order for makeup to go on smoothly and look its best, you need to think about your skin before you start to reach for your foundation or concealer. “If the skin isn’t properly hydrated, your concealer will look cakey, your blush splotchy and your foundation won’t spread evenly,” explains Liebeskind. For dry skin, slather on a rich moisturizer or a face oil before applying makeup. Oily skin will look best if you start by washing your face with a cleanser that absorbs oil and then use a lightweight, oil-free lotion that will hydrate the skin enough for makeup to go on smoothly, but won’t make the skin greasy or shiny.
7. Choosing the wrong makeup for your skin type.
Just as using the right skincare will help your makeup look better, it’s important to be sure you’re using the right makeup formulas to enhance your skin. If your skin is on the dry side, avoid powder foundations and blushes. Creamy formulas will blend better, and if you have any fine lines or wrinkles, a cream will help smooth them over (as opposed to powders which can settle into lines and make them appear more obvious). Normal to oily skin should stick to oil-free liquids and powders. And it pays to reassess your choices every so often to make sure you’re using the right formula for the skin you have now: You may have had oily skin since your teenage years, but if you are now over 40, chances are your skin is starting to shift toward the dryer side.
8. Going to bed with your makeup on.
“If you’re going to take the time to put it on, you’ve got to also take the time to take it off,” says Liebeskind. Leaving your makeup on overnight can clog your pores (not to mention getting your pillowcase dirty), plus, if you’re not removing your makeup, you’re not caring for your skin by cleansing and applying an appropriate night cream. To make a clean sweep: Use a makeup remover pad first to get rid of eye makeup and anything else that might not come off with your face cleanser (like a long-wearing lipstick).Follow with your usual facial cleanser to finish the job.
9. Paying too much attention to one feature on your face.
There’s a fine line between enhancing your favorite feature and overdoing it. “You don’t want to overcompensate so much that instead of seeing your bright, pretty eyes, all people notice is your elaborate eye makeup,” says Liebeskind. The trick is to play up your eyes more subtly and then add a little makeup to the rest of your face. For instance, just because you don’t want to call attention to your mouth doesn’t mean you have to leave it naked. Use a pretty, natural pink lipstick or gloss so that it still looks well-groomed, if not eye-catching.
10. Trying to draw on larger-than-life lips.
You’ve probably read advice from a makeup artist who suggested lining your lips outside your natural line in order to make your pout look fuller. “It’s not that it’s bad advice, but most women don’t have the technique to pull it off without looking silly,” says Liebeskind. A more foolproof approach: Apply your lipstick or gloss first and then take a pencil (in the exact same shade as your lipstick or gloss) and draw a light, thin line just at the outermost edge of your mouth. “The goal isn’t to make your lips look like you got silicone injections, but just to create the best version of what your lips can be,” she says.
11. Attempting to create contours that don’t exist.
Using darker shades of blush to try to brush on an optical illusion of more prominent cheekbones or a less prominent nose is a trick best left to professionals making someone up for photography or film. This is one technique that rarely works in the real world. No matter how skilled you are with the makeup brush, it’s nearly impossible to use dark colors that aren’t glaringly obvious when viewed in person, especially in broad daylight. Focus instead on pretty, soft makeup that plays up your best features.
12. Confusing concealer with cover up.
They may sound like they are intended to serve the same purpose, but according to Liebeskind, there is a big difference between the two. Concealer is what you use under your eyes to disguise dark circles and brighten the skin. It should be creamy in consistency and should be one or two shades lighter than your perfectly-matched foundation. Cover up—which should be used to camouflage blemishes or other flaws—needs to be exactly the same shade as your foundation. In fact, unless you want a treated cover up (designed to help dry up pimples), your foundation can double as your cover up. Use a small foundation brush to dab the product onto the blemish and set with translucent pressed powder.

So, you’re into home improvement and development? Well don’t just look inside of your home to make a considerable amount of change, we should know that it all starts outside your home, and by that I think that you should be making changes for your modern outdoor furniture. The best choice for your outdoor places would be furniture which is made out of teak wood. Note that this kind of furniture is not only ever lasting but as the time passes the wood becomes more beautiful and it is natural material. In starting the teak is nice golden shade color, than later on it turns into silver color, both look wonderful in the garden. If you want to maintain the golden color of teak than there are some cleaners in the market which can serve your purpose or you can use teak oil in the modern outdoor furniture?

<!-- /* Style Definitions */ p.MsoNormal, li.MsoNormal, div.MsoNormal {mso-style-parent:""; margin:0in; margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:12.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-font-family:"Times New Roman";} a:link, span.MsoHyperlink {color:blue; text-decoration:underline; text-underline:single;} a:visited, span.MsoHyperlinkFollowed {color:purple; text-decoration:underline; text-underline:single;} @page Section1 {size:8.5in 11.0in; margin:1.0in 1.25in 1.0in 1.25in; mso-header-margin:.5in; mso-footer-margin:.5in; mso-paper-source:0;} div.Section1 {page:Section1;} -->
/* Style Definitions */
table.MsoNormalTable
{mso-style-name:"Table Normal";
mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0;
mso-tstyle-colband-size:0;
mso-style-noshow:yes;
mso-style-parent:"";
mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt;
mso-para-margin:0in;
mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt;
mso-pagination:widow-orphan;
font-size:10.0pt;
font-family:"Times New Roman";
mso-ansi-language:#0400;
mso-fareast-language:#0400;
mso-bidi-language:#0400;}

If you put modern furniture outside the house than there is no requirement to place cushions on it. The entire structural design of the pieces and the entire plank may be seen when cushions are not put. And if you really want comfort than you can put cushion and still the look of the modern furniture is the same. In considering teak you can find a lot of variety and I have seen different benches made of teak and they look amazing. Teak wood is very dense as compare to the other woods and you will find different quality and grades of teak modern furniture and the most important thing is that how it is made. The weight of the wood also makes huge difference. So it's always better to buy modern furniture from good store which are certified. Because thinking about what it can do to a home is really great. Now considering your outside modern furniture is really important, especially when doing it in a good place.

Having good modern outdoor furniture is very important because when any guest or any visitor will come, he or she will see the outside furniture first and it give good impression when you have good furniture. When you are planning to buy some good modern furniture for garden or yard few things you should remember that is when you are placing modern furniture in the outdoor it is expose to the entire climate changing, so it's better if you select the modern furniture accordingly. Look for it that the modern furniture front of it has been taking initiatives that it is nice modern outdoor furniture. Thinking that modern outdoor furniture has gone lengths in home improvement is thinking relatively big for it. Remember that the improvement of it is all up to you, the home owner.

Even though we all know that you will find expensive modern outdoor furniture and it is not feasible to change or replace furniture every year, so you should take special care of it and cleaning should be done regularly. You should follow the instructions of the manufacturer for keeping it long lasting. Many people prefer second hand and used modern furniture, so you do not get the proper instruction how to maintain it and in long run the modern furniture lost its charm but you can maintain it because cleaning is not that difficult task Always think that modern outdoor furniture can really help your home stand out.

I just had dinner with a friend of mine who I see a few times a year. The poor bastard spends all year in Paris (boo hoo), where he teaches and is working on an advanced degree. I'm concealing most of the details to protect what little innocence he has. Well, between seeing R and having just gotten back from the road, I'm thinking about trips past, particularly what I saw. I'm not, by any stretch of the imagination, a photographer, but at least you can see the world through my untrained eye.

The last time I was in Paris, I had the good fortune of witnessing the presidential election that thrust Sarkozy into office (a good decision on the part of the French people). I got to go to an election night party (which was awesome) and generally feel the vibe of a world capital on election day. It was beyond exhilirating.

Oh, the poster above translates (as well I as I can) to: "We won't survive this ... and you won't any more."

I always have adventures in Paris. Every time I step onto the streets, which is where I feel very much at home, something cool happens. I'll see something interesting, have a wild experience or just get some great fucking writing done. i wrote my article for Boink magazine, which seems like it was published so long ago (before I hooked up with XBIZ, let alone AVN). I remember the cafe vividly; it was right around the corner from the Intercontinental Hotel in Place de l'Opera, where I was staying (on my first trip).

Here are some shots of the campaign signs from the hotly contested Sarkozy/Segoline (I hope I spelled that correctly) bout. It was insane! The first one? "Together, anything is possible." (again, to the best of my limited abilities)

The way they scratch the eyes out just shows a level of brutality-- and commitment-- that we just don't see here. Some see it as degrading. I call it true democracy in action.

Written over Sarko's face in the campaign posters to the right is "ETAT NAZI." That's a pretty powerful statement. These signs, if I remember correctly, were up in Montmartre. I spent a good week in that part of town and absolutely love it. In a way, it felt like my neighborhood, the Upper West Side. So, the next time I go to Paris, I'll probably stay in Montmartre again, though not at the same hotel.

Okay, enough of the politics. It's not really my thing anyway. I want to move to the crazy Parisians I ran into. That's where I had the most fun. For me, Paris is all about the people. I think I'm the only American who loves Parisians, but that's fine with me. I think they are nice, open, polite folks, and I have always felt welcome in their hometown. I've spent about three weeks in Paris over the past few years, and I can't wait to get back. I'm still exploring other places, but the pull of Paris remains quite strong. For now, it'll have to wait, but I do plan to go back soon.

This chick's deal was pretty straightforward. Her favorite storyteller believed in sharing his intimacy. So, she decided to move her bed into Place des Abesses in Montmartre (where I was staying) to share in the dead guy's experience. It attracted weirdos. What a shock ...

Of course, she wasn't the only nutjob. I now introduce you to "the fiancee." A nursing student who is struggling to pay for her honeymoon, she was led around the Quartier Latin by her friends. Those willing to help fund the experience dropped cash into the coffin around her neck.

I guess she wanted to go on a honeymoon pretty damned badly, because this is further than I'd go, and I really don't have a whole lot of shame. I wore a dress to a movie theater once, though.

This is part of the reason why I dig Paris. The people are nuts, but in the happy way. You can walk the streets and always see something.

I thought this girl's project was pure genius. It is equal parts clever, pathetic and entertaining. How can you not donate? I threw her a couple of Euros, adn I got to take a few pictures in trade. So, I think it worked out pretty well.

This wasn't the only picture for which I paid. I liked keeping track of the various beggars around the city, as they seemed particularly organized. On one occasion, I saw about 30 of them gathered outside Gare du Nord (one of the big train stations). It was like they were gathering before their shift.

Hey, even the beggars are unionized!

There was a pretty big concentration of them at the Eiffel Tower, which is the only reason why I found the tower interesting.

The pitch is pretty typical. A girl comes up to you and asks, "Do you speak English?" Regardless of how you reply, she holds a card open. It contains a sob story about being a refugee from Bosnia, the burden of several children, the absence of a husband, etc. Well, I'm not above paying for what I want. For the rich price of EUR2, I was able to get a shot of the card that she uses to pitch. But, when the camera was turned on her face, she became quite upset and tried to hide.

So you still can't kick that whole bed wetting phase, huh?

Well here's your silver lining: It's almost a guarantee that you have the cleanest bed sheets in you apartment complex, as I'm sure you purchase new ones on a weekly basis. Not to mention that you probably buy a new mattress every six months or so, and that says something about your financial status. With buying a new mattress that often the odds of you suffering from sleep related back pain are extremely thin. This will reduce medical visits and insurance co-pays. If ever you can talk a girl into bed, you'll have a valid excuse not to stay and cuddle. If you still feel out of place then go to the pool more often, because we all pee in the pool from time to time. :)

There has been always a debate over 2 different styles especially if the 2 are conflicting styles. Let it be known that Classic furniture has a very dignified, structured look and feel to it - think of the millions of dining chairs with the ubiquitous straight back, four straight legs and cushioned seat. Classic can be defined by, well classic. These chairs are have dominated dining rooms all over world for decade upon decade, virtually undisturbed by modern notions of furniture design because of their sturdy structure and ability to stack away any extras for emergency use later on. People love to take on classic furniture in which has been one of the well known types of furniture there is on the market. There is no question about it and it is very well known of course. Noted that the Classic and traditional styles have some advantage throughout the years because there are some who wants to stay classy and have that vintage look as well.

For Modern Contemporary design, it is known that essentially means any furniture designs that have been created since the Second World War, is the modern take on a human necessity. Designers who followed the classic, traditional era of design are now and have been tempted to open up the drawing board to very new and different ideas. Modern contemporary furniture has styles hat are really eye-catching and the designs are really good. It is the natural progression of any professionals, particularly in the art and design world; contemporary furniture certainly has caused a great deal of debate and even though this is not always pleasant it has at least introduced artistic devotion to many households and individuals who may not have had such insight otherwise. It is still one of the well known furniture out there.

It is really known that the real goal of modern contemporary furniture designers is to break down the structure that past designers had relied on for countless years. Other people have given their taste a chance to have a different take on modern furniture. Given to the fact that instead of purely filling a functional purpose, modern designers realized that furniture pieces could not only be constructed as load-bearing structures, but as artistic, almost whimsical works that happened to serve a purpose but were perhaps thought-provoking as well. Modern contemporary furniture has that certain vibe that it brings to a home. Although you have some stuff to consider regarding this furniture class most people still choose this over classic, because mostly on the trend.

It is widely known that designers of contemporary furniture felt that their designs were more reflective of modern society than their outdated classical predecessors; for some people this held true however there are still plenty of classic furniture buyers who are loath to adopt newer models of their functional structures. Buyers depends their choices and decision by solely looking at what’s hot and what’s not. Those who have latched onto the idea of modern contemporary furniture are thought to generally be the sort of people who are also very interested in art and literature; while this is often true the fact is that many people have purchased contemporary furniture individually because a certain piece caught their eye. Make it known that it is something that always seen when taking on modern furniture decisions.

The party was admittedly thrown in poor taste. My roommate and I had stocked the fridge with rows of two buck chuck, a few plastic jugs of vodka, a bottle of rum, and an old Dewar's I knew no one would touch. No one under the age of 35 touches Dewar's except me. The music looped over itself and maybe, just maybe, there was some Cheap Trick.

I remember things. I do.

I remember the spilled drinks, the dog running under my bed and mauling his small body into a pillow. I recall the two-hour porno that happened to come on around 2am, the boy in the plaid shirt lunging towards my roommate, the skunky smoke spilling out under the doors, the lines being carefully cut on glossy-covered cookbooks. I remember everyone leaving save one. I remember his crawl on my bed, his lips on my mouth, and the sloppy, lusty attack on my neck. I remember waking up next to a mistake; like when parents don't plan for a child, and they sickly call it a happy mistake.

And the black and blue on my neck? I woke up for a second time and threw myself into the bathtub. I laid out my limbs over the edge of the porcelain and let the water get muddy with soap. Everything was steaming. As the cloudy suds drained out all around me, I lolled my head around and heard a snap. I sprung up to the mirror and pressed my face up close. There was a hicky on my neck. There were fresh cuts on my skin. There was makeup caked under my eyes.

There are no happy mistakes. There are accidents, and there's beautiful luck. Everything in between is just fucking chance.

I can't believe it. This makes me feel very depressed. After all the making fun of my dad for being practically OCD about everything being clean and in place here I am in college starting to do the same thing. Sure I'm usually fairly neat, but I like things to be slightly messy just so my room looks lived in. Now? I have the sudden urge to keep everything exactly in place and whatever isn't is the metaphorical equivalent of a small five year old poking my arm rhythmically going "Now are you annoyed? How about now? Now? What about now?" Ugh, this is awful. Fortunately my room mate's stuff doesn't bother me. I have absolutely no urge to straighten his stuff up. Here, compare.......
Anyway just wanted to voice how incredibly annoying it is to WANT to make your bed every morning...... thanks for the DNA Dad! Lol JJK love you!

I’ve always associated myself with the crashing waves and salty air of the ocean. To find some

I've always associated myself with the crashing waves and salty air of the ocean. To find some peace and old parts of myself I took a trip to the beach. As an added bonus, I forgot to pack her phone number and had almost no internet access. Whatever emails she wanted to send, whatever messages she needed to hear- they would be replaced by space as I revisited the place that had become the anchor for so many of our happiest memories. Leaving her behind had to involve, at some point, a trip to the beach.

The weekend was calm and familiar: card games, long walks, ice cream, and playing guitar on the back porch have long been the staples of my beach vacations. My aunt, who was also down at the beach, noted that it had been awhile since I'd been down here without L and reminded me of the last time we'd all stayed at the beach house together. I had told her, "L and I love the beach so much" yet we never came out of her room or actually visited it that weekend. At that second I looked over at the seat that would have been saved for her, realizing that she wouldn't be socializing with us but hiding in her room... and I didn't miss her.

There is still a hole were she used to fit in my life and I feel it everywhere I walk, like an indentation left on a bed long after someone has woken up and left the building. But this weekend as I spent time with my family, my friends, and my self, I looked at that hole and tried to imagine if the time would be enriched if she was there. "Yes," I'd say, "if she was happy." I realized how much of the pleasure I took in her company was conditional. I loved those happy moments and somehow if we were still going to be building those times I think that I would've wanted to be with her. After catching her in her lies, after catching her with him, I just want to move on. The space left behind her has started to fill in finally, slowly, after almost a year of being emptied, filled, and emptied again.

Like stretching a unused muscles, it isn't a completely comfortable process- lunch at our favorite restaurant didn't bring tears or sadness, only sandwiches, but sleeping in the bed I used to share with her did. Ordering ice cream alone was hard but still pleasant- so much so I decided that it had to happen a second time. So much of the beach town landscape has changed- new bookstores open, old restaurants gone or moved- that it helps me to focus on this as a transition, the standard passing of time rather than the end of the world. Like the tides of the ocean, people come in to your life then slowly roll out, leaving the sand of your soul altered.

While shopping I accidentally pulled out the old photograph of her that I kept in my wallet- one she had printed out on cheap paper and given to me almost five years ago. She's smiling, wearing a black dress, and a holding a cat so black that he fades into the dress till his eyes look like buttons on the dress. I stuffed it back inside, avoiding it. Is there something telling in the fact that my latest wallet had no place to put a picture so that it was easily seen- so much so that I had forgotten I'd even had it?

One friend has long pressured me to do something symbolic to address the end of my relationship with L, something firm that would show it. He reminded me of how when he decided to go back and finish college he shaved his head. Everyone noticed something was different and it gave impetus to the change. Tonight was my night for that.

I avoided the beach itself all weekend until last night, focusing on enjoying my favorite relaxing spots around the town. As the sun began to fall I drove out to the ocean, my last chance to see it before leaving in the morning. The air was salty and the tide was rolling out, and a few campfires were lit by lifeguards celebrating the end of the day. I pulled the picture of her out of my wallet and stared it as I approached the beach she had loved so much.

I remembered the first time I brought her here, a winter day too cold to swim- she was in a hooded sweatshirt and sandy blue-jeans. She leapt out of the car excited, jumping up and down like a hyperactive toddler, smiling. We had often talked about going swimming in the ocean and making love in the evening and, though we had almost tried once or twice, our courage had always failed us. Instead we'd eat sandwiches or donuts, depending on the time of day, and play. Playing- innocently, without the pain, was something I don't think we could ever have anymore. The picture, having outlasted two wallets, had now lived beyond the relationship itself.

I bent down as the tide rolled in and pushed it to the bottom of the shallows, I couldn't see it as the water pulled it out to become part of the ocean. I didn't cry, I didn't have time to let that out, but I savored the moment and felt it- the wind, the water, the sadness, the regret, the love for her. It didn't magically change me the way baptisms are supposed to- there is now a hole in my wallet matching the hole in my life where her picture had stayed hidden. But, like my friend shaving his head, it helped somehow- I had done something. Letting her picture drift out to sea- it honored the ocean that I loved so much and it honored the time we spent together, I let her go out of my life like an old dead king- loved, adorned in treasure, dead, and burning- drifting on the oceans and dancing with ghosts.

All dirty minds are requested to shut down and reboot in safe mode. Because, the night that just passed was the first one of its kind in my life and misconceptions may be waiting to arise. This being an integral part of the lives of many students, i got the opportunity to enjoy a night out, a first one at that! The situation was perfect and so, was planned before hand. And for those of you who are wondering who that girl in a single guy's life is, let me brief you; I am not yet fortunate to have it. The night out was with a childhood male friend of mine.

My parents left for a small pilgrimage on Saturday evening, which marked the beginning of a small but glorious time of being the acting king of my home. I was tired by helping my parents with the preparations for the journey and so called it a day pretty early. Sunday, which was my younger brother's birthday, started off with me giving him the first birthday wish at midnight. All was fine and the rest of the day was uneventful.

My friend who was supposed to come by 9pm, was held back at his home because of the rains. He was unsure of making it to my place even if the distance was 1.5 km only. After half an hour of anxious wait, the rain subsided and he made it. Now, nothing was prepared for the night. No drinks (strictly non-alcoholic). No chips. No American Pie (uncensored movie :P )(which is our common hot favorite) :( .

Slight drizzle persisted and we decided to brave it to go and get something for the night. My brother was sleeping inside the locked house while we both were walking like zombies in near-freezing cold. The bakery nearby had a promising look, but it turned out to be an exhibition of empty shelves :( . Moreover, the bakery-wala didn't keep stock of Pepsi or any of its products (we are Pepsi Bhaktas :D ) Another store was left to try out and to our displeasure, he too didn't stock Pepsi. We had to be contented with an absolutely warm 2ltr Sprite.

The rain started lashing out again and we were stuck. With no other choice, we started running back in the rain like Jerry and the canary being chased by Tom :D. Both of us had our own problems with running in rain. If i slow down, my slippers become slippery and if he speeds up he might tumble, again, for the same reason. I took the advantage and ran in the rain leaving him behind and was jubilant midway when he sped past me. That idiot had used his brain at last and ran bare footed, carrying the slippers by hand :D .

Reaching the door of my home felt like finishing a marathon :D . For the rest of the night, we had to adjust without the chips and had to wait till the warm-drink underwent a transformation into a cold-drink in the refrigerator. The movie upon which we consented after some argument was Tomb Raider 1 (which won over Jab We Met, Dhamaal, iRobot etc,.) After finishing it, our eyes begged for some solitude and urged us to sleep. It was just 1 am and not very late. But still, the show was closed and the bed was calling. Moreover, we were supposed to go for swimming early next morning (which we did, after all this!)

The night out.

I don't think i can come out further about this, but there are a second and a third night to come. :D And the stock of movies is good, too. Just hoping to make the most of it. Azeem-o-shan Shehen Shah... apun ka ghar ka!

PS : Pic taken while sitting in front of PC and watching the movie. Picture courtesy : Self timer in my mobile cam :)

There is another importance to this day! It was this day last year that i took the delivery of my bike. I still remember finishing off the first 100 kms on day one. And now, one year later, the reading is 8004.6 km, after changing each of a clutch cable, a rear brake cable and the rear tube once. Hoping to ride more than 10k km in the next year :D .

Monterey Twin Bed (shown below) is their most popular design. The optional Box Trundle for the twin bed adds extra sleeping for cozy spaces and other matching pieces are also available. This line is hand finished per order and White Glove service is available from Bellacroft. White Glove Service is very important with handcrafted furniture because it is transported on a furniture moving truck, rather than a regular mass delivery truck. It is handled with care, set up in your home to your specifications, and the packaging is discarded by the delivery team. Bellacroft offers this unique service for only $99.

What's the month of July, but the month that Stephan came into our lives two years ago. Hard to believe that he's already two, time sure does fly!

I've been neglectful of this blog and apologize for that. Next month I'm going to do NaBloPoMo and I think I'm going to post here. Yep, every day for the whole month of August. So stay tuned folks.

Back to the present. Stephan's had a great month! He's been showered with love and many gifts and while there have been some annoying transitions forced upon him he's held up pretty well.

At the beginning of the month we discovered his crib was recalled and began the nightmare process of fixing that situaion. This involved filling out an online form, taking apart his crib and transitioning him to sleeping on his mattress on the floor, waiting a week and a half to get the packet from Jardine, sealing up the envelope full of bolts, sending it off, and now waiting for our voucher to arrive so we can purchase a new crib. During this process Stephan began showing an interest in the full size bed in his room. Wanting to sleep there for naps and at bedtime. He napped there twice, but we were hesitant to have him sleep there at night without a bed rail to keep him from rolling out. Now that we have a bed rail he's adjusting to the change in his room and is hesitant to sleep there. We are hopeful that in time he'll want to sleep there and are not wanting to force the change on him. Time will tell. We are thankful that we have decided not to rush out and buy a crib. Nothing at BRU seems to be right and are hopeful that once the voucher comes we will find something that works for us and our budget before it expires. The blessing in disguise is that whenever baby #2 comes along there will be a brand new crib for him/her.

Birthdays are always fun celebrations and in the midst of all the trauma drama of the crib fiasco Shephan has enjoyed a wonderful month full of family, friends and fun.

Our "gift" to him was more a toddler pacification device for our road trip to Santa Fe. So in addition to his iPod Shuffle we also found him a guitar. No plastic electronic device for him, he'd know it wasn't the real deal and ignore the thing wanting daddie's. Thankfully we found an inexpensive real guitar designed for young children, maybe not as young as Stephan but it's small and came with large pics that are easier for him to hang on to. A wonderful activitiy for him to do with daddie and a great way for him to learn how to treat a guitar.

Other fun things that have been part of his month: a small wading pool that fits on our deck out back so he can go swimming, a battery operated bubble blower that provides bubble fun even mommie can appreciate, new veggie tales tunes so we have more than ten songs to listen to, the new set of Kohl's Cares books by Eric Carle, his birthday party and several fun presents.

That last one deserves a bit more attention. We had a wonderful party at Sarah's house. He's comfortable there since he spends several hours a week playing while I work during the school year. And the best part is that they have a BACKYARD! So we found a day when his two friends could both come and play, brought his favorite foods (mac'n'cheese, hotdogs, strawberries, apple juice, 3 Musketeer bars & homemade ice cream), and had fun playing in the pool and opening presents.

The loot included wooden blocks & binoculars coursesy of his friends Jeyda; the Veggie Tales worship cd, washable paints & nesting blocks from his friend Kayla; Mr. Potato Head (who underwent a return to become Mrs. Potato Head since he already had the Mr.) & parts to make a Potato Pirate from Uncle Dan; and a snuggly bear, Courderoy book, fire station (with working garage door) & Leap Frog amazing alphabet entertainment device from his nana and papa. He's been enjoying everything!

Previously he'd also recieved a gift from his great-gram, great aunt Charity & cousin Joy, a bear from B-a-B that we promptly named Firework due to his patriotic fur and Stephan's newfound love for fireworks. Grammie sent some cash and Stephan picked out a new bath toy, a pengiun that squeaks and squirts water, and a USA Olympic rings t-shirt for Firework.

He's one blessed kid, and I'm one blessed mama. There are always ups and downs, but he's a wonderful boy and I'm more often than not amazed that he was given to me. So that's enough for today, we'll see you again soon .... well, maybe in August anyway :)

Okay, just to make this the longest post ever, here are some pictures for your enjoyment ...

When choosing modern furniture, which is more important, form of function? Well there are a lot to be considered on this note seriously because you a lot of different views and different takes on this issue. I think function is more important, while most votes are for form. Well all probably agree that if you can possibly have both, that is the best of both worlds. We do have several pieces of modern furniture in your home that look esthetically beautiful, but are not as efficient in their function as I would prefer, so I’m probably listened to about as much as most men are on this topic. The argument is more like chicken or egg kind of a topic in which you really don’t know which is which. The problem for most is that there are sometimes things to really consider and the fact that many have considered this issue as a hot topic, knows where this lead will.

Personally, in spite of my leanings toward function, I’m going to depart from my usual sensibilities; straddle the fence and say, it depends. Well, for me it depends on exactly what you are trying to accomplish with your decorating choices. Take a good look at how you live your life on a daily basis. If you entertain often and have guests over to your home, then you would be wise to pick elegant pieces of modern furniture that show well. If your home is your haven of peace and security away from the hustle and bustle of daily living, then you are more likely to design your home and select your furnishings for comfortable living. At the end of the day your decision will always be the king. Modern furniture does have its pros and cons but it’s all up to you.

Then there’s the choice of none of the above category of people who like clean lines and clean houses and neither entertain nor stay at home much. They tend to do most of their socialization and living outside the home. The contemporary look is the style they tend to choose. Well for most part I think that is kind of a different approach to it, especially considering the modern side of the genre has a lot to really offer to the consumers. I think that more to a fact that modern furniture and its predecessors have gained vast knowledge on making it a hit. Everyone has to have a coffee table right? It usually has form and function. There are times however when form can overshadow function. Then there’s the open style of living. Do you like to have your books showing on the bookshelves or place knick knacks and other decorative elements around the house? If so then you are more likely to have hutches, bookshelves and extra tables to display your decor. A lot really has to be known and concerned on this issue.

Ok, let’s go back to the question at hand. When choosing your home, should you make your buying decisions based on form or function? There are as many schools of thought as there are people, and the only answer I can give you is to decide what works best for you and your spouse. Go to open houses, model homes, home shows and modern furniture stores and discuss what options you like the best. I think that with these decisions at hand you may know if it is form or function. At the end of the day the final decision will be put upon and the modern furniture side of it will likely get an upper hand. Just be sure that you know what you want, and what you want does comply on what you need. Modern furniture will hit it on high note as you move on for sure.

Ryan is almost 3 and a half. Up until yesterday he has always slept in a crib.

He never tried to climb out, but to say he is a little rowdy would be an understatment. We always figured he was safer enclosed in a crib.

We also delayed it a little because my wife was on bedrest for several months before Molly was born, and then Molly was born. No sense in introducing any more change than necessary.

For the last several weeks, my wife and I discussed whether or not he was ready. A few weeks ago, we definitively decided we weren't ready, so we sent the bed to be stored at her parents house.

Last week, we began discussing it again and thought it might be a good idea.

I am not sure what causes toddlers to go through weeks of insanity, but it is something that should be studied. He seemed to just go crazy, almost like he was possessed. The most recent spell has been so intense, I started checking him for his birthmarks to make sure we brought the right kid home from our trip to West Virginia.

He stopped listening. Even better, when he heard us, he would look at us, laugh and continue to do what we were telling him not to do.

Bed time has always been a challenge for Ryan. Once he is asleep, he is good until morning, but it can take up to an hour and a half for him to settle sometimes. During the most recent bout of insanity, he was doing head stands and somersaults in his crib.

Based on that behavior, we again decided to delay the big boy bed. But then, we decided things can't get much crazier, why not stick him in a big boy bed. It has safety rails, so that should keep him in when he is tumbling around. Since he is such a great listener during these spells, why would he ever consider getting out of his bed after we leave the room.

In hindsight, every sign pointed in the opposite direction of this decision. Even our guts were telling us this was a bad idea.

Saturday morning, I made a couple of trips to my in-laws to pick up the pieces of the bed. I let Ryan help and watch me put it together. I thought that might help ease into the change.

Then, it was nap time. The first real test. As my wife and I went over the rules with him for the 50th time that day we exchanged nervous glances. We tucked him in, left his room and went down the stairs.

He screamed out a little, so I raced up. He was sititng on the edge of the bed. He looked ready to jump. I asked what was wrong and he calmly said "Dad, you forgot to leave my door open a little."

I apologized, walked out (leaving the door slightly open, as requested) and we didn't hear anything else for his whole nap. When he woke up, he asked permission to get down. That incidently is rule number 2. Ryan decided the most imprtant tule is not to pee in the bed.

We had no trouble at night, which is when he is usually completely out of control and today's nap went well, too.

I don't know when Megan and I will learn. No matter what change we introduce to them, we always spend time worrying, analyzing and second guessing. Then, we we make the change, it is never an issue. Someday we'll learn to have faith in the kids, until the next big change comes along.

For modern furniture, the one that I always focus is always on the modern sofa. Well for me the things that you have to take aim at are always on the modern sofa. There is so much to consider when you have a modern sofa, because it will be the thing that will focus on, kind of like a centerpiece for a dining table. There is no denying that sofa is probably the most important piece of furniture in any household and as a result, it has the greatest range of styles and qualities available for purchase. Right now, people considerate as a big thing to have their decisions made, modern sofa are always a fixture of class and style.

Remember that as there are many styles, it may actually be easier to first categorize them into either sectional or sleeper types which could be further divided by using the styles of their backs which normally done in four styles: tight back, attached pillow back, loose pillow back and multi pillow back. Because with those many styles, it’ll be hard to choose because options are endless. Possibilities are at there and deciding for the right modern sofa will be a big point for sure. I do believe that if you have a modern sofa in your home, it’ll be much easy for you to decide on what to have on your home, mainly the theme. It all revolves around something so, considering modern sofa as your focal point can be a big decision.

Let me tell you that, tight back sofas have a very firm seat and one must sit upright as they don't have supporting pillow. It is suitable for people who do not have much time as the fabric normally used for this type of sofas is very easy to clean and additionally, there are no pillows to straighten. Attached pillow back sofas have softer seats and backs because the filled pillows are sewn into the backs of the sofas to prevent them to move around. However, as the pillows are permanently attached, it is more difficult to clean and 'hide' if they got stained. The difference is all there for you to see so that you will be able to at least know what you really want on it.

Modern sofas that have loose pillow backs have the same number of seat and back cushions. The back cushions are normally reversible and can be unzipped for re-stuffing and cleaning purposes. The comfort of this type of sofas depends on the quality and firmness of the stuffing of the seat and back cushions as well as the depth of the sofa itself. Remember that the importance of this furniture choices are always depends on the owner itself. Much to a point that you have to make your own decision on how you will make your home better with much improvement, modern sofa can always give big difference on your home and you’ll be surprised it’ll be for the better.

A very good friend told me a long time ago that I cannot “please everyone”. I knew he wa

A very good friend told me a long time ago that I cannot "please everyone". I knew he was right then, and I know it now. The problem is: I hate confrontation. This often makes me a coward - I have a hard time to stand up for others and an even harder time to stand up for myself.

There are three main reasons why I avoid confrontation even in situations where it is clearly indicated. The first reason is that I don't want to hurt others. I don't believe that there are "bad" people, in general I assume good intentions, and even in situations when good intentions are absolutely out of the question I am afraid that I won't be able to confront the person and still stay calm and polite. The second reason is that I am horribly afraid of people judging me. I do indeed want to be liked by everyone - something that seems particularly ridiculous when you consider that I have never been very popular. The final reason for not confronting others is that I am often usure that I am right (in itself a good thing because there are very few topics where one can be absolutely sure of that) and I am afraid of saying something stupid that is based on wrong or insufficient evidence.

Anyways, I am currently in a situation in which I badly need to confront someone and I just don't do it. The someone is my current therapist. I have been doing cognitive therapy with her for almost a year now without any positive results. Worse, I hate to go to appointments - in fact I absolutely dread talking to her. About four months ago I did actually bring up the courage to tell her that this is obviously not working for me and that I don't think it makes sense to see her again (yes, I actually said it that clearly). She suggested a three months therapy break and although I would have much rather gone for a clear cut I agreed - because I did not want to be too confrontational.

This is not the only issue between us. While I think that cognitive therapy is not a good approach for me in general, at least not in it's classic form of thought reinterpretation (I tend to overanalyze everything in the first place and almost compulsively think about the different sides of an issue, so encouraging me to do it even more is not necessarily a good idea) I also do have problems with this specific therapist, and I hardly ever talked with her about them. For one, many of the things she says increase my insecurity, fear, and feelings of guilt. One classic example occured when I told her that on a day when I don't binge and don't restrict I usually eat around 2500kcal. Her comment? "That's quite a lot." A great thing to say to someone with an eating disorder who has a voice whispering to her what an incredible glutton with low self-control she is. (As a note: I did print out a journal article on HAES and how it had better long-term mental and physical health outcomes than dieting. Ialso told her that mentioning dieting to me is a rather harmful. But I did let the 2500kcal comment slip.) Non-eating related, she also told me that I really had to change things when I told her how guilty I feel that I currently live mostly on money that I get from my parents - at 29 years of age. Here the issue is a bit different: Of course I should be standing on my own feet at this point in my life. And some guilt or discomfort with the situation might be a good thing. The thing is, I am clinically depressed, which means for me that I tend to dwell on this for ever - which in turn leads me to feel paralyzed instead of taking action to change the situation. Anyways, there were other instances, but I guess I illustrated the problem.

In addition to failing to confront my therapist there are many other examples where I don't speak up. For one I am very reluctant to say clearly that I am a proponent of fat acceptance. I have gotten better at it, but I still let to many comments go unchallenged. I find the process of picking my fights in itself exhausting. I find it even more exhausting to discuss a topic that I feel passionate (such as FA, but there are many, many more) about in a way that avoids making my opponent feel threatened - or to talk so much about it that they are in danger to die of an overdose of zeal. Making people uncomfortable is to a certain degree a good thing - making people feel attacked, not valued, or bored because you go on and on about an issue isn't for the most part (there are exceptions). Particularly in face-to-face discussions I often come across as aggressive (simply because I have a loud and relatively deep voice for a woman, because I talk very fast in those situation, and because I get animated to a degree that is unusal in my culture). I don't intend this - but how do I walk the fine line of speaking up and making people understand how important the topic at hand is for me on the one hand and keeping it rational and polite on the other?

We are all aware that the bedroom is a unique space in your home that can take on an entirely different look from the rest of your house’s theme. Well I can say that it is a given. It really should be your own personal escape from the rest of the world. When you are designing your bedroom keep that in mind. It’s meant to be a getaway. Meaning it could be an exotic getaway, with a jungle theme or a tropical beach feel, or you could think of your bedroom as a place to escape into the pages of a romance novel, with a sexy boudoir feel complete with canopy modern bed. You may also like the idea of your bedroom being a way to escape the modern world, and choose the theme of an old-time country retreat. None of these are wrong answers. I do believe that for a bedroom, it is always important that you at least own a modern bed to set the tone.

<!-- /* Style Definitions */ p.MsoNormal, li.MsoNormal, div.MsoNormal {mso-style-parent:""; margin:0in; margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:12.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-font-family:"Times New Roman";} @page Section1 {size:8.5in 11.0in; margin:1.0in 1.25in 1.0in 1.25in; mso-header-margin:.5in; mso-footer-margin:.5in; mso-paper-source:0;} div.Section1 {page:Section1;} -->
/* Style Definitions */
table.MsoNormalTable
{mso-style-name:"Table Normal";
mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0;
mso-tstyle-colband-size:0;
mso-style-noshow:yes;
mso-style-parent:"";
mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt;
mso-para-margin:0in;
mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt;
mso-pagination:widow-orphan;
font-size:10.0pt;
font-family:"Times New Roman";
mso-ansi-language:#0400;
mso-fareast-language:#0400;
mso-bidi-language:#0400;}

Well let me tell you a tip, the trick is to hammer down a central theme so the modern bedroom furniture items are of the same style or complement each other. We should be at least aware of those things. You can start with one piece of modern bedroom furniture you are in love with and can’t bare to do without, and then build around it, mostly modern bed comes to mind on this. But also keep in mind that you may want to mix things up down the road and make sure the modern bedroom furniture pieces will do that for you. A room has to have the factors that will affect the overall look of a modern room. The theme is also important as it always gives you the big knowledge on what you want for your bedroom.

Another thing is that you also want to make sure the modern bedroom furniture pieces you choose now are going to be ones you want to use for years to come. You don’t want to change furniture every month or so. The larger modern bedroom furniture pieces you will buy for your room is going to set you back a bit of money, so you want to know you are making the right decision. There are a lot cases where one homeowner will buy modern bedroom furniture and then after a few months change it because he don’t want it or something like that, so be sure you are on the right track on it. One place you do not want to scrimp is on the bed frame. A bed frame that is squeaky or does not support your mattress properly is going to get on your nerves and be a piece of modern bedroom furniture where you focus your anger instead of a place to relax.

To conclude be sure you know what you want. Don’t just go on and pick what’s up in the market. While there is great looking bedroom furniture out there, make sure it will suit your needs. If you have wide walls in the room you can look at traditional dressers, but if you have a smaller room, you may need to look into the highboy category of modern bedroom furniture to find one with the space you need. Modern bedroom furniture can always be found everywhere, so don’t rush on decisions. Be sure that you get what you want and you at least made your mind on making modern bedroom furniture the best fit for your home.
