By Michale Moshier

By now, we all know antioxidants are good for our health and for their anti-aging, regenerative properties. Now, there's another type of antioxidant hitting shelves: Ferulic Acid, which is not really an acid at all but rather a "phytochemical" with potent antioxidant properties. It's derived from wheat, rice, and oat bran and is also found in coffee, apples, oranges, sweet corn and peanuts. Like many of its antioxidizing cousins, Ferulic Acid protects cells from environmental damage and the aging effects produced on the skin and body by living and aging.

Concentrations of ferulic acid can be obtained over the counter within serums, face creams, lotions, eye creams, etc. It works best when used with other antioxidants such as vitamin E and vitamin C – which is why it may be beneficial to tap into things like lotions and creams which already have these components combined within them.

According to reports, consistent use of products containing ferulic acid should improve skin texture, tone and density, and give your complexion a healthy "glow!"

Of course as with any new product, the hype may outweigh the benefits, which is why I encourage people to also focus on anti-aging routines that build from the inside out! When you start getting the vitamins you need, exercising and learning about what you're putting into your body, the results will show on the outside!

I suffer from very chapped lips. Nothing I have found so far has helped. Products will go on and just sit on my lips or it will make my lips start peeling, not a cute look. My lips are so bad, I can't even wear lipstick because it will start drying my lips out and peel off. Very unattractive. I wanted something that really works and not just makes my lips shiny but still chapped and peeling underneath.

A lot of talk has been going on in the beauty sector about this product Jane Iredale's Sugar & Butter lip duo. Supposedly, it's a must have for chapped lip sufferers. This peaked my interest when I heard about it recently and heard nothing but great things about it. Sugar & Butter is a lip exfoliator that works by smoothing and plumping using brown sugar and shea butter. It even diminishes fine lines and feathering while removing dry patches. Sugar & Butter comes in an attractive double ended package that is small enough to fit into your purse or pocket. I haven't ordered mine yet, but I will. If it does like it says, I am hooked!

Anyone else tried this product? What did you think of it? Do you know other products that work great for chapped lips?

I have been unable to write a post since ‘cos I have been kinda weak. But that is over now, Thank GOD.

Well today folks I have decided to make some changes in my blog postings, I would now be posting all my trials and fight with acne on my other blog http://Acnespotfree.wordpress.com so that I can dedicate this one to giving out beauty and health tips that I discover. This would make the blog less congested, don’t you think so?

So today I would like to share with you 2 tips (contain in Sally Freeman’s Ageless Natural Beauty) that would help you maintain youthful and healthy skin. Hope you follow them religiously. It can help you in obtaining that acne free skin that you want.

Here are the tips:

1. Eat your Fruits and Vegetables: Antioxidants are your body’s first line of defense against free radical damage and are usually contained in huge amounts in fruits and vegetables. They are also obtained in some supplements sold at your local drug stores, check out http://www.revitol.com/product/overview/Acnezine_Acne_Solution/?aid=490509. Vitamins A, C, and E, beta carotene and the mineral ‘selenium’ would help keep your skin healthy. A large amount of beta carotene which is converted to vitamin A is usually found in deep green and yellow fruits like carrots. Vegetables that are raw or lightly steamed have the most vitamins. It is therefore important that you do not over cook your vegetables. Fiber, which is an indigestible cellulose material that is called ‘Roughage’ and is contained in fruits, vegetables and whole grains is very essential in digestion and elimination of indigested food which is good for your overall health and also your skin.

2. DO NOT SMOKE: Smoking is a very, very, very, terrible, horrible, disgusting habit. It is especially disgusting and annoying when a person decides that he/she wants to smoke and disturbs non-smokers with the horrible smell. Smoking produces free radicals which are indicating in aging and drying of the human skin. It is also indicated in causing cancer. Inhaling tobacco smoke also constricts your blood vessels impeding circulation that is responsible for your skins’ healthy color and can lead to heart diseases. Nicotine stains your teeth and fingers and the odor of tobacco smoke also clings to your skin and hair. Would someone please tell me the advantage of smoking because right now all I see is disadvantages, disadvantages and more disadvantages? So why would anyone do it?

Well I hope you take to heart what I have written and follow them.

I gotta go, should come back soon with more health tips or might just give tips on how to apply make-up perfectly. I haven’t decided yet. Oh well, we will just have to wait and see.

It’s your girl, Bim nubi saying stay beautifully blessed. Ciao.

P.S: Check out my previous posts to know about my acne treatments and also http://Acnespotfree.wordpress.com to know how I have achieved my acne free face. Love to see you.

It's July and it is HOT. Living in the south has its perks but the summer heat definitely isn't one of them. Yet, the summer weather isn’t the time of the year that you or your face should dread. It’s the time where you embrace flips-flops, sunglasses, and iced-lattes! You shouldn't have to worry about hiding your face under a hat or trying to avoid horrible tan lines. Nope not at all. Instead you should treat your body and your skin with everyday essentials! The best part is that you don’t have to go out and buy any of these things because all of them can be found at home. The fun part is learn how all of these things can nourish and rejuvenate your skin. Good-bye winter and hello summer!

ANTIOXIDANTS:
So what exactly is this? Well antioxidants are such things as beta-carotene, vitamin C and vitamin B which are found in green-tea, grapes, and oranges to name a few. Antioxidants fight against the toxins that are produced by sun exposure, pollution, and stress. So, instead of being solely dependent on sun screen and water to protect your skin, definitely incorporate a cup of green tea or a few grapes in your daily diet.

Speaking of grapes...did you know that they were the main source of anti-aging? Well if you didn't now you do! The active ingredient found in grape seeds is oligomeric procyandin (OPC) which helps strengthen blood vessels to allow skin to look tighter and healthier. It also helps with the circulation of the blood and helps remove toxins outside the body. Wow, so much power from such a small piece of fruit. Next time...I am definitely buying grapes with the seeds still intact!

ICE:
It is no surprise that we use ice to heal up a swollen ankle but ice is definitely a great way to get rid of the bags under our eyes. The coldness of ice constricts capillaries which forces blood and redness away from the skin's surface. What a wonderful way to stay cool but at the same time get rid of those annoying bags.

WATER:
H2O is definitely a MUST! It makes up sixty percent of our body weight. When your body is sufficiently hydrated it shows through your skin. Drinking lots of water and applying any moisturizing where water is the first ingredient can reduce signs of aging, wrinkles, and inflammation

JUICE:
Summer weather can definitely leave you parch but that does not mean you have to only drink water. Juice from oranges, grapefruits, lemons, and limes offer more than a tasty cold beverage. These fruits contain fruit acids that break bonds that hold together old cells. So, instead of having to deal with harsh facial scrubs to get rid of old dead skin, drink up your favorite fruits!
Now summer can be fun again :-)

Do you know that skin cancer is the fastest increasing form of cancer in America? The danger of the sun's ultraviolet rays is definitely no light matter, for not only does these cause beauty hazards like premature skin aging but also cause serious conditions in our health. This is why many experts and health professionals highly advise us to stay away from the sun. If it can't be helped at times, we must apply sunscreen protectors, wear shades, and bring umbrellas to ensure that we have all the protection we need.

More than protecting ourselves, however, we must also be aware of the most dangerous hours to be under direct sunlight. In the northern hemisphere, the danger hours are between 10 am to 4 pm, but most especially around noon time to 3 pm. If your kids like to play outside during these hours, make sure you make them play inside to protect them against the long-term damages and health risks of sun exposure. Do you know that today, even 20-year olds get skin cancer?

Even when the weather is slightly overcast, remember that the sun's ultraviolet rays are still present and protection is still needed. Of course, it is much better to completely avoid getting in the sun during the danger hours. But on the days that you just need to, be armed with all the protection you need.

[caption id="attachment_62" align="alignleft" width="300" caption="Marie's Virtual "after photo""][/caption]

This seems to be a highly debated topic right now so I wanted to jump in and provide a visual that may allow you to decide for yourself. Yesterday, I met with a client of mine and did a face to face makeover using our new mineral products. We took before and after photos for my portfolio. Here is Marie's photo BEFORE

[caption id="attachment_60" align="alignleft" width="300" caption="Marie's before photo"][/caption]

There is a new feature on my web page that allows you to upload your own "before" photo and then try different colors and even hairstyles! We decided to have a little fun with it. We uploaded Marie's before shot and then we proceeded to select the same colors that I selected for her to see what it would look like. But we took it a step farther in selecting her a new hairstyle and hair color. Below is her "after photo"-

[caption id="attachment_61" align="aligncenter" width="225" caption="Marie's actual face to face "after photo""][/caption]

I believe that the tools for using the "Virtual Makeover" are fantastic! It can be used for clients that live out of my geographic area, or even for someone who never purchased from me or intends to. The service is free and available to everyone. You get to save your makeover and go back as often as you like and try new things. (I DO NOT GET YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS OR NAME WHEN YOU DO THIS) In my opinion, it enhances face to face marketing. I am still the beauty expert who will suggest colors to try. That is the reason why I do not think that internet marketing can replace that relationship that you build in an actual face to face situation. What do you think? Feel free to comment or experiment with the virtual makeover yourself at my website.

Looking good can be expensive and take quite a chunk out of your monthly budget. When money is tight

Looking good can be expensive and take quite a chunk out of your monthly budget. When money is tight and you still want to look your best it can take some creativity and determination to still stay in fashion. If you thought you couldn't stay in fashion or afford to look good, Think Again! At times when money is the main concern buy less and buy better. You will have to have the willpower not to make splurge or impulse buys. Some things to remember when shopping on a budget are:

Buy Key Items - purchase items that are versatile and timeless

Buy Less - Put yourself on a shopping diet. Cut back on the amount of items you purchase on shopping trips.

Only Buy what you Need - The lure of sales and clearances will have you buying all kinds of things you never would have. Stick to your plan of what you went in to buy.

Make a list - Just as you do when you grocery shop, make a list of what you really need. This will keep you on track and away from unnecessary buys.

Don't Window shop - If you are a "shopaholic" and trying to stick to a budget, never fall for window shopping. You are bound to end up seeing something you simply can't live without.

Follow these tips when you are really trying to stay on a budget and you will save some money. Shopping can still be fun when you are trying to save some cash.

MALE STERLITY, or failure to fertilize female egg cells, may be due to several causes. In some cases

MALE STERLITY, or failure to fertilize female egg cells, may be due to several causes. In some cases the trouble is due to an emotional factor, such as a mental block. It may be caused by an absence or atrophy of the testes, or perhaps by some obstruction in the male genital organs. Infections involving the genital organs may result in the production of unhealthy or even dead sperm cells. In such cases special tests may locate the seat of the trouble, which may be treated surgically. FEMALE STERLITY, or failure to have children may arise from several different causes. Sometimes the trouble is due to the husband. In a woman, sterility may be due to some congenital malformation that has existed from birth, such as an absence of the tubes, ovary or uterus. Such conditions are rare. Pelvic infections, involving the vagina or cervix, are a more common cause of sterility. Inflammation of the tubes may prevent the sperm from reaching the ovum. Other conditions such as endometriosis and adhesions involving the genital organs may also interfere with pregnancy. Endometriosis causes fibrosis throughout the pelvis and this fibrosis sometimes so covers the ovaries that an ovum cannot be released into the abdominal cavity. Endometriosis also occludes the fallopian tubes either at the fimbriated ends or else where along their extent. Lack of a normal menstrual cycle may also be a factor. In some cases, the real cause of sterility arises from emotional factors. Many women who have waited for years for a family of their own have adopted a baby and then found themselves pregnant a few months later. Still another cause of infertility is secretion of abnormal mucus by the uterine cervix. Abnormalities of the cervix itself, such as low-grade infection or inflammation, or abnormal hormonal stimulation of the cervix can lead to a viscous mucus plug that will prevent fertilization. It has been known that the administration of either estrogen or progesterone, if given in appropriate quantity during the first half of the monthly female cycle, can inhibit ovulation. The reason for this is that appropriate administration of either of these hormones can prevent the preovulatory surge of LH secretion by the pituitary gland, which is essential in causing ovulation. The most common cause of female sterility is failure to ovulate. This can result from hypo secretion of gonadotropic hormones; in such cases the intensity of the hormonal stimuli is not sufficient to cause ovulation. For example, thick capsules occasionally exist on the outside of the ovaries that make ovulation difficult.

HOME REMEDIES FOR STERILITY

Make an infusion of jambul fruit leaves and take with honey and milk. This is very useful home remedy for sterility.
Take red clover to help gain fertility.
Take kelp and vitamins C, E, and B-complex to help with conception.
False unicorn is helpful for the health of reproductive organs.
Chickweed, damiana, ginseng, juniper, plantain, safflower, and saw palmetto also helps to normalize hormone levels and boost sexual craving.
Roots of the banyan tree are also very effective in the treatment of female sterility where there are no organic defect or congenital deformities. These roots should be dried in the shade and finely powdered. About twenty grams of this powder should be mixed with milk, which should be five times the weight of this powder, and taken at night for three consecutive nights after the monthly periods are over.
The herb winter cherry is another important remedy found helpful in sterility. The herb should be powdered and six grams of this powder should be taken with one cup of milk for five to six nights after menstruation.
Fasting is the best remedy for the treatment of disorders resulting from toxins in the system. A short fast of two or three day should be undertaken at regular intervals by women who are unable to bear children.
Diet is an important factor in the treatment of infertility. It should contain seeds, nuts, grains, vegetables, and fruits. These foods should be supplemented with milk, vegetable oils, and honey. Curd and cottage cheese are also recommended.
Excessive fat, spicy foods, strong tea, coffee, white sugar, white flour, refined cereals, flesh foods, greasy or fried foods should all be avoided.
In case of spermatorrhoea tender, seedless pods of Acacia should be dried in the shade and powdered before being mixed with an equal weight of raw sugar. Six grams of it should be taken with milk in the morning.
Make the powder of about Fifty grams each of kernels of the seeds of Bastard Teak ( Dhak ) and Siris tree and mix with 50 grams of raw Sugar. It should be taken in six grams doses every morning for three weeks to gain the sterility.
Make a powder of fifty grams each to dry Amla and Mango Ginger (Amba Haldi) and mix with an equal weight of raw Sugar. Take six grams with milk daily in the morning. This is also very useful home remedy for sterility.
Take marrow from the hump of a camel, spread on a piece of linen, and rubs sexual parts with, after having been purified subsequently to her courses.
Take small amount of sesame grain and mix its juice with a bean's weight of sandarach powder; drink this mixture during three days after periods; she is then fit to receive her husband's embraces.
A mixture is made of nitre, gall from a sheep or a cow, a small quantity of the plant named el meusk, and of the grains of that plant. The woman saturates a plug of soft wool with this mixture, and rubs her vulva with it after menstruation; she then receives the caresses of her husband.
Seeds of Lajwanti and sugar taken in equal quantities should be mixed and a six gram dose taken every morning with milk.
A glass of cold water on an empty stomach in the morning is highly recommended.
Ten grams of dry coriander ground in water and sweetened with sugar should be taken in the morning.
A sufferer from nocturnal pollutions must take exercise in the evening (before dinner) so that he is too tired to dream and has a sound sleep.

Garlic is one of the most remarkable home remedies found beneficial in the treatment of sexual impotence. Two to three cloves of raw garlic should be chewed daily
Onion increases libido and strengthens the reproductory organs. The white variety of onion is, however, more useful for this purpose
Carrots are considered valuable in impotence. For better results, about 150 gm of carrots, chopped finely, should be taken with a half-boiled egg, dipped in a tablespoon of honey, once daily for a month or two. This recipe increases sexual stamina
Lady's fingers are another tonic for improving sexual vigor. Take five to ten grams of the root powder of this vegetable with a glass of milk and two teaspoons of ground mishri daily.
Boil fifteen grams dried roots of asparagus in one cup of milk. Take it twice daily The regular use of this remedy is valuable in impotency and premature ejaculation
A soup made with about fifteen grams of drumstick flowers boiled in 250 ml milk is very useful as a sexual tonic in the treatment of sexual debility. It is also useful in functional sterility in both males and females.
About 120 gm of the powder of the dry bark of drumstick should be boiled in half a litre of water for about half an hour. Thirty grams of this powder, mixed with a tablespoon of honey, should be taken three times daily for a month
Half a teaspoon of ginger juice should be taken with a half-boiled egg and honey, once daily at night, for a month. It is said to relieve impotency, premature ejaculation, and spermatorrhoea
Dried dates are a highly strengthening food. About 100 gm should be taken daily as an effective medicine for increasing sexual power
Black raisins are useful for restoration of sexual impotency. They should be boiled with milk after being washed thoroughly in water. This will make them swollen and sweet. Eating of these raisins should be followed by the intake of milk. Starting with 30 gm of raisins, followed by 200 ml of milk three times daily, the quantity of raisins should be gradually increased to 50 gm each time

Tooth decay, known technically as dental caries, is one of the most common health complaints in the

Tooth decay, known technically as dental caries, is one of the most common health complaints in the world. It is particularly common in children and young adults, and rates have been fuelled by an increase in sugars in the diet, and poor dental hygiene.

What causes tooth decay?

The problem is caused by sticky deposits called plaque that collect, in particular, around the gum line, the edges of fillings and the grooved surfaces of the teeth.

Plaque is made up of food debris, saliva and the bacteria that are normally present in the mouth, and convert food into acids.

If plaque is allowed to collect over time it will harden into a substance called tartar.

Both tartar and plaque contain acids which, over time, can dissolve away the protective, hard enamel coating of the tooth, and create holes, or cavities.

Most cavities form over a period of months, or even years.

They are usually painless, but they can grow very large, and damage the much softer internal structures of the tooth such as the dentin and the pulp, which is found at the core.

If they remain untreated, they can kill the nerve and blood vessels of the tooth, and ultimately the tooth itself.

What are the symptoms?

The most obvious sign of tooth decay is toothache, particularly after hot or cold foods or drinks. However, pain may not be present until decay has reached an advanced stage.

Pits or holes may also be visible in the teeth.

Most tooth decay is discovered at an early stage during a routine check up.

A serious complication can be the development of a tooth abscess - the build up of pus resulting from a bacterial infection of the centre of the tooth.

Infection may spread out from the root of the tooth and to the bones supporting the tooth.

Plaque and tartar also irritate the gums, and lead to a gum disease called gingivitis.

Is diet a factor?

Yes. Eating a diet rich in sugar and starch increases the risk of tooth decay, and sticky foods can be a particular problem because they are more likely to remain on the surface of the teeth.

Frequent snacking also increases the amount of time that acids are in contact with the teeth.

In the absence of good oral hygiene, it doesn't take long for damage to begin. The acids generated by the breakdown of food stuff in the mouth can begin to attack the tooth enamel within 20 minutes of a meal.

It is thought that tooth decay only became a widespread problem with the establishment of sugar plantations in the 18th century, and worsened with the subsequent widespread cultivation of sugar beet in Europe.

How do you prevent decay?

The best way to keep your teeth in health condition is to ensure that you clean them regularly to get rid of any plaque build up.

Most dentists recommend that you clean your teeth at least twice a day. Using a toothpaste containing fluoride is probably a good idea as this provides the teeth with added protection from the effects of acid.

Flossing between the teeth is also a good idea, as is rinsing out your mouth after eating sticky foods.

It is also important to have a regular check up at the dentist - most suggest once every six months to a year.

Unfortunately, even good oral hygiene does not prevent decay as the bacteria congregate in areas inaccessible to brushes and floss.

How is decay treated?

Once the structure of a tooth has been damaged by decay, there is no way to repair it.

However, if decay is picked up at an early stage its progression can be blocked.

Decayed material can be removed, and replaced with a restorative material such as silver alloy, or plastic. This is known as a filling.

If the decay is more extensive, then another option is a crown. The decayed or weakened area is removed and repaired and a covering jacket - the crown - is fitted over the remainder of the tooth.

If the nerve in a tooth has died, either from decay or a blow, then a dentist will consider root canal work.

This involves removing the centre of the tooth, including the nerve and blood vessel tissue.

The root is then filled with a sealing material, and the process is completed with either filling, and possibly a crown.

Evening at 9 - 11pm:
is the time for eliminating unnecessary/ toxic
chemicals (detoxification) from the antibody system (lymph
nodes). This
time duration should be spent by relaxing or listening to
music. If
during this time a housewife is still in an unrelaxed state
such as
washing the dishes or monitoring children doing their
homework, this
will have a negative impact on health.

Evening at 11pm - 1am:
is the detoxification process in the liver, and
ideally should be done in a deep sleep state.

Early morning 1 - 3am:
detoxification process in the gall, also ideally
done in a deep sleep state.

Early morning 3 - 5am:
detoxification in the lungs. Therefore there
will sometimes be a severe cough for cough sufferers during
this time.
Since the detoxification process had reached the
respiratory tract,
there is no need to take cough medicine so as not to
interfere with
toxin removal process.

Morning 5 - 7am:
> detoxification in the colon, you should empty
your bowel.

Morning 7 - 9am:
absorption of nutrients in the small intestine,
you should be having breakfast at this time. Breakfast
should be
earlier, before 6:30am, for those who are sick.. Breakfast
before 7:30am
is very beneficial to those wanting to stay fit. Those who
always skip
breakfast, they should change their habits, and it is still
better to
eat breakfast late until 9 - 10am rather than no meal at
all.

Sleeping so late and waking up too late will
disrupt the process of removing unnecessary chemicals.
Aside from that,
midnight to 4:00 am is the time when the bone marrow
produces blood.
Therefore, have a good sleep and don't sleep late.

THE TOP FIVE CANCER-CAUSING FOODS:

1. Hot dogs
> Because they are high in nitrates, the Cancer
Prevention Coalition advises that children eat no more than
12 hot dogs
a month. If you can't live without hot dogs, buy those
made without
sodium nitrate.

2. Processed meats and bacon
Also high in the same sodium nitrates found in
hot dogs, bacon, and other processed meats raise the risk
of heart
disease. The saturated fat in bacon also contributes to

3. Doughnuts
Doughnuts are cancer-causing double trouble.
First, they are made with white flour, sugar, and
hydrogenated oils,
then fried at high temperatures. Doughnuts, says Adams ,
may be the
worst food you can possibly eat to raise your risk of
cancer.

4. French fries
Like doughnuts, French fries are ma de with
hydrogenated oils and then fried at high temperatures. They
also contain
cancer- causing acryl amides which occur during the frying
process. They
should be called cancer fries, not French fries, said Adams

5. Chips, crackers, and cookies
All are usually made with white flour and sugar.
Even the ones whose labels claim to be free of trans-fats
generally
contain small amounts of trans-fats.
BRAIN DAMAGING HABITS

1. No Breakfast
People who do not take breakfast are going to
have a lower blood sugar level. This leads to an
insufficient supply of
nutrients to the brain causing brain degeneration.

2. Overeating
It causes hardening of the brain arteries,
leading to a decrease in mental power.

3. Smoking
It causes multiple brain shrinkage and may lead
to Alzheimer disease.

4. High Sugar consumption
Too much sugar will interrupt the absorption of
proteins and nutrients causing malnutrition and may
interfere with brain
development.

5. Air Pollution
The brain is the largest oxygen consumer in our
body. Inhaling polluted air decreases the supply of oxygen
to the brain,
bringing about a decrease in brain efficiency.

6. Sleep Deprivation
Sleep allows our brain to rest. Long term
deprivation from sleep will accelerate the death of brain
cells.

7. Head covered while sleeping
Sleeping with the head covered increases the
concentration of carbon dioxide and decrease concentration
of oxygen
that may lead to brain damaging effects.

8. Working your brain during illness
Working hard or studying with sickness may lead
to a decrease in effectiveness of the brain as well as
damage the brain.

9. Lacking in stimulating thoughts
Thinking is the best way to train our brain,
lacking in brain stimulation thoughts may cause brain
shrinkage.

10. Talking Rarely
Intellectual conversations will promote the
efficiency of the brain

The main causes of liver damage are:

1. Sleeping too late and waking up too late are
main cause.
2. Not urinating in the morning.
3. Too much eating.
4. Skipping breakfast
5. Consuming too much medication.
6. Consuming too much preservatives, additives,
food coloring, and artificial sweetener.
7. Consuming unhealthy cooking oil. As much as
possible reduce cooking oil use when frying, which includes
even the
best cooking oils like olive oil. Do not consume fried
foods when you
are tired, except if the body is very fit.
8. Consuming raw (overly done) foods also add to
the burden of liver. Veggies should be eaten raw or cooked
3-5 parts.
Fried veggies should be finished in one sitting, do not
store.

We should prevent this without necessarily
spending more. We just have to adopt a good daily lifestyle
and eating habits. Maintaining good eating habits and time condition are very
important for our bodies to absorb and get rid of
unnecessary chemicals
according to 'schedule.'

The Individual lashes, they are applied by professionals at spas and salons. It would cost you from 250 to 500 dollars depending to which salon or spa you go. A professional chooses a suitable length for your eyes and applies 60-80 lashes to your own lashes using a medical glue. These lashes lasts for a month and a half with proper maintenance like don't rub you eyes and don't sleep on your face. Some Pros recommends getting touch-ups every three weeks which normally costs from 50 to 200 dollars. If you want to remove them, don't pull it by yourself,go to a professional. I recommend these Brands NOVALASH and SHU UEMURA.

Kat Von D, the high energy, rock'd out owner of High Voltage Tattoo parlour (the tattoo studio featured on TLC's LA Ink) has just launched her new makeup line. Anyone who has seen Kat knows that she exemplifies old school Hollywood glamour - think pin-up girl meets biker chick. Below are Kat's tips for getting her signature look.

EYES
"I didn't discover eyeshadows until recently," Kat divulged. "I used to use liners and that was it, but now, I couldn't imagine life without eyeshadows!" First, she picked up the Kat Von D True Romance Eyeshadow Palette in Beethoven and Kat Von D Kat Eye Brush Set. "I start with a brown Leather shadow to the lids, rounding around the outer corners and beneath the lower lash line. I then dip the brush in black Lucifer and blend the two shades together really well-for about one minute on each eye. Then, I go over the shape with Leather again, to make sure it's totally smooth." Kat used the yellow shade in the Beethoven palette to highlight under the brows and in the inside corners of the eyes. To create her signature cat eye, Kat usesKat Von D Autograph Eyeliner in glittery Black Metal Love on the bottom and top lids, flicking out at the corners.

BROWS
For an extra dramatic, sculpted arch, Kat used the slanted brow brush in Kat Von D Kat Eye Brush Setto fill in her brows with black Lucifer shadow from the Kat Von D True Romance Eyeshadow Palette in Beethoven. "Brows are so important to frame your eyes," says Kat. "The bolder, the better!"

LIPS
Kat loves red lipstick-so much that each of the four lipsticks in her line are a different shade of crimson. "Nothing makes you feel sexier than the perfect shade of red lipstick," says Kat. "I rely on each shade for different occasions, but the shade I find myself putting on again and again is Kat Von D Painted Love Lipstick in Underage Red." A bright, tangy shade of fire engine red, it caps off Kat's gorgeous look with the perfect dose of flare.

Kat's line is available at Sephora. Shop the brand here: Kat Von D

There are many places on the human body where you may consider removing hair. Less body hair, will m

There are many places on the human body where you may consider removing hair. Less body hair, will make a person have less of an odor, especially when they sweat. Many articles have stated that the purpose for body hair on humans was directly connected with sexual attraction. The odors one’s body gives off, acts as pheromones to attract the opposite sex. Body hair holds those pheromones longer.

Although having smooth and hairless skin is a current trend, it is still a matter of preference and function why people remove body hair. Furthermore, how much of the body hair is removed also depends on the individual.

Pubic area (bikini line) is one of the top locations for this process for both men and women. When you’re young, vellus hair grows in the pubic regions of your body. As you go through puberty, that vellus hair turns into terminal hair and becomes thicker and coarser. In Western cultures many women opt to remove hair from their bikini line.

A growing number of men have started practicing male pubic hair removal methods for various reasons.
• Some say removing all of the body hair including the hair on their pubic area keeps away odor causing bacteria because it usually gets dark and moist down there.
• It is safer for both partners if the man removed his pubic hair because this can keep his partner's private parts free from itchiness after intercourse.
• Others do it to enhance their sexual experiences. They believe that male pubic hair removal on the penis area will make one's erection look bigger.
• If you’ve been in a relationship for some time now, shaving it off might create new interest from your partner which can help increase sexual excitement.
• Others even go to the lengths of creating designs on a shorter patch of pubic for novelty reasons.

Armpits rate as the second most common place to remove hair for women. While having hair in the armpits is acceptable in most cultures for males, it is not as acceptable for females. During the 1960’s and the invention of women’s lib, many women opted not to remove their armpit or leg hair. Currently that practice has not been widely adopted by Western culture.

Leg hair is the second most popular area Western women remove hair. Women remove leg hair mostly for aesthetic reasons. Men may choose to remove leg hair for a sport, including cycling and swimming.

Chest hair grows within the region of the male body between the neck and the abdomen. Chest hair begins to grow when a male enters puberty. Some men prefer less hair on their body and opt for hair removal.

Back Hair is another sex characteristic of some men. Many men remove the hair on their backs for a variety of reasons, most often vanity.

Facial hair removal for men is done for a variety of reasons.

Eyebrows are a common area to remove facial hair for both men and women. Sculpting the shape of an eyebrow can create a defined look for the appearance of the overall face. Many people pluck the hair between their eyebrows for vanity reasons.

Eyelash removal is not a common practice among men or women, although there is a disorder called Trichotillomania that is associated with this habit. Trichotillomania is a compulsive disorder that affects people mostly during their teenage years and may continue throughout life unless treatment is sought. Some women remove their eyelashes to enable them to wear false lashes, preferring lashes that are longer and fuller.

The desire to have smooth, hairless skin and to remove excess or dark hair usually begins in adolescence and tends to be a lifelong pursuit. Whether it is hair on the face, armpits, legs, bikini line, or other body parts, many women AND men are intent upon having the hair on their scalp be the only visible hair on their bodies.

There are many options available to remove unwanted hair, but few options to get rid of hair permanently. Each person should chose a method or combination of methods that works best for them depending on cost, time available, skin type, and the desired hair-free area.

There are numerous methods for removing or hiding unwanted hair. Some methods are “do it yourself”, others require the assistance of a licensed practitioner.

“Do it yourself” methods include:
• Bleaching
• Shaving
• Tweezing
• Depliatory Cream
• Waxing or Sugaring
• Threading

“Do it yourself” or using a certified practitioner include:
• Waxing/Sugaring
• Threading

In a few future posts I will discuss each method and the pros and cons of each.

When you're in a hurry and you're having a bad hair day it can be a tough time to think clearly and get your hair under control. Anytime your hair looks bad you feel bad. What you need are some quick tips to help when you're in a hurry.

Grab a head band or go for a loose ponytail or bun - if you don't have long and it's not working the way you planned, just pull it up or throw on a headband.

Skip Blow drying - Wash your hair and let it air dry

Wear a braid - one simple cornrow braid down the back can hide a multitude of sins, leave a few strands loose to give it a little more style

Flat iron hair and wear it straight

Fast Forward Curl - an easy and quick hairstyle

Dry hair fix - mix together honey, mayonnaise, and egg. Work this into hair, getting all over hair and to the ends. Let sit for about 30 mins then wash out.

Instant Luster - mix together a beaten egg yolk with half a lemon squeezed into it...apply this to your hair (not getting any on your scalp). Leave on for 30 mins then wash and rinse off. Make sure you wash and rinse very well, you don't want to leave any egg in your hair.

Use a dry shampoo- if you don't have time to wash or you can't wash your hair. Just dry shampoo your hair

Oily hair tip - use vinegar twice a week

Quick fixes are great for when you need help in a hurry. For prolonged hair care and help contact a healthcare professional for styling help and hair maintenance guides.

But aside from the health aspect, I've heard many people swear to the beautifying powers of the coconut oil as well. Here are just some of the supposed beauty powers of the coconut oil:

1. It can stimulate hair growth. Applying coconut oil particularly virgin coconut oil on hair has been said to work wonders on hair loss conditions. It also strengthens hair and prevents dry scalp. In addition, coconut oil is a great and cheap conditioner and hot oil treatment because it leaves the hair smooth and shiny.

2. It can smoothen the skin. Coconut oil can be used as a lotion and facial moisturizer to smoothen the skin and remove rough and dry patches. You can use it as an after-bath lotion, facial moisturizer, or massage oil.

3. It can treat damaged skin. More than beautifying, many people claim that coconut oil can actually treat damaged skin by relieving eczema symptoms, preventing fungal infections and body odor, and protecting against age spots and blemishes.

Have you experienced the beautifying powers of the coconut oil?

Freckles are cute and adorable to have when you’re a kid. However, they can become a nuisance

Freckles are cute and adorable to have when you're a kid. However, they can become a nuisance as you enter adulthood, where clear, smooth skin is worshiped. If you still have freckles on your face or certain parts of the body and you want to conceal them, here are just three of the quicker ways you can do so.

1. Proper makeup. Applying makeup to the freckled parts is the fastest way to conceal the freckles. However, to make this most effective, it has to be done in the proper way. Make sure you have a good liquid foundation to use as base and then some powder to cap it off. It may also be beneficial to use a tinted moisturizer and loose powder to blend away the freckles and to achieve a more even skin tone. Use a sponge to apply.

2. Green Tea Antiseptic Oil. A lot of people have claimed that regular application of green tea antiseptic oil on their freckles caused the freckles to dry and fall out or disappear. Meanwhile, some say they didn't see any effects at all. Nevertheless, it may be worth a try.

3. Laser treatments. This is probably the most effective way to treat freckles. Nowadays there are lots of treatments to choose from such as chemical peels. Of course, this requires a bit more budget and courage as well, because it still entails some risks. If you decide to go the laser route, make sure you do it in a very reputable clinic and that you do your research.

How do you deal with freckles?

Image from this site.

I have loved clipping articles from newspaper. Articles about anything which interest me. From feature articles to how to’s. I have kept the clippings I had collected over the years in a water-proof bag. Having nothing to do this afternoon, I crawled under our bed and looked for that bag which had been there for years. I have not touched my collections for about almost 6 years!

Well, what did I find? Something which will interest women. Answers to our beauty problems the natural way.

I have collected these tips from the column of the three beauty-queens; Maricar Tolosa, Rhea Quinson and Zorayda Andam. Their column called InnerGlow was featured in Philippine Daily Inquirer (if I’m not mistaken). These articles were from the 2002 issue (see that was 6 years ago!)

Dark Underarms

1) Orange Peel Scrub
Ingredients:
4 tablespoon orange peel (powder)
2 tablespoon wheat germ powder
Pinch of turmeric powder
Method:
Mix all the three ingredients and store in an air tight container. Use this as is and when required.
2) Apply one tablespoon finely ground raw papaya on affected parts. Keep for 15-20 minutes then wash off.
3) Wash this body part with coconut water. Apply coconut water and leave it for 15-20 minutes before washing it off. Use it regularly if possible.

For Body Odor

1) Cleanliness is the first defense. Regular bathing or showering and using a good germicidal soap are all you need. Bathe at least once a day. If necessary, again before going to sleep.
2) Mix dry sandalwood powder in rose water (or distilled water) to make a sandalwood paste (1:1 ratio). Apply it all over parts where sweating is excessive.

If the problem persists, then, it is better to consult a dermatologist to get proper medical treatment.

Removing big Scar

Take the pulp of a ripe tomato. Add a few drops of lemon juice and rub on the legs. Leave for about 20-25 minutes. Wash off. Do this for a month and it will sure remove the scars. But don’t forget to do it religiously.

Whitening Skin

Here are natural ways to lighten your skin tone:
1) A paste made of sandalwood and rose water (or distilled water) (1:1 ratio). Apply everyday.
2) Cucumber juice is considered to be an excellent whiter.
3) Gently massage coconut water all over face and neck to lighten skin tone.
4) Deseed grapes and apply liberally over face and neck. This will also help to make your skin fairer.

Stretch Marks

Stretch marks on the abdomen are so common after pregnancy. One may try the homemade nourishing cream.
OATMEAL NOURISHING CREAM
Ingredients:
Egg yolk – 2 eggs
1 Tablespoon honey
1 Cup Lanolin
1 cup Oatmeal
1 tablespoon Lemon juice
½ tablespoon Tincture of Benzoin
Method:
Mix together beaten yolk of egg, honey, lanolin, lemon juice and oatmeal. Stir in the tincture of benzoin. Massage on the abdomen with a circular movement and leave it for 15 minutes. Then, wash off with lukewarm water.

Dandruff Attacks

Apply a little diamond oil on scalp frequently (twice a week) and massage. Also you can mix equal quantities of dried curry leaves, lime peel, fenugreek seed and green gram. Grind them finely. Store and use as a substitute for shampoo. Preferably before shampooing your hair. Try for a month. Make it a routine.

Avocado based Conditioners

Avocados are known to be rich in vitamin B6 and vitamin E. As a conditioner, mix and squish together with your hand, 1 small jar of mayonnaise and ½ of an avocado until mint green in color. Work through the hair all the way to the tips. Wrap your head with a shower cap and leave for 20 minutes. Rinse as you normally would. For a deeper conditioning effect, put a hot, damp towel around your head over the shower cap or saran wrap.

For long hair which needs conditioning only at the ends, use half of the mixture and apply to ends and wrap them.

Alternatively, you can combine mashed avocado (1 fruit) with some coconut milk until smooth and as thick as shampoo. Work through hair and allow to settle for 10-15 minutes. Rinse.

Hot Oil Treatment

Mix 1 teaspoon of soybean oil and 2 teaspoons castor oil and warm over low heat. Massage scalp and work through the hair with the mixture. Wrap hair with a hot towel for 15 minutes. Rinse with a regular shampoo.

Hair Care Recipe for Oily Hair

If you have oily hair and want to reduce grease without losing moisture, a good domestic solution is to blend ½ teaspoon of aloe vera gel (out of aloe vera plant) with 1 tablespoon of lemon juice and ¼ cup of your regular shampoo.

After Shampoo hair rinse

An after-shampoo rinse, stir 1 ounce of apple cider vinegar with 1 quart of distilled water. Pour through hair to remove buildup. Rinse. This is effective as a hair-softening solution.

I believe you can get the above ingredients from any supermarkets near you. Stay beautiful :) !
