Cece Sayler seemed to have a knack for fencing. After saluting her opponent and bending her knees, the sixth-grader made a few calculated moves, twisting her foil so it hit her opponent square in the side. Their footsteps echoed off the chipboard floor.

Youth fencers from around the Denver metro area will gather on Saturday, September 15, 2007 from 9am to 4pm for the 2nd Annual Fencing for Fitness charity tournament to benefit America On the Move, a national, non-profit initiative dedicated to helping individuals, families, and communities make positive changes to improve their health and quality of life. Sponsored by the South Denver Fencing Academy, located at 7075B South Alton Way in Centennial, Colorado, the youth foil and epee fencing tournament is expected to draw approximately fifty fencers aged 7 to 18 for the competition

The 2007 Fencing Junior Olympics will take place at the Colorado Convention Center on February 16-19. Over 1600 Fencers aged 13 to 20 are expected to compete. Many NCAA fencing programs will be represented. Come cheer on local fencers as they face the nation's best junior athletes, including several Olympic hopefuls. 

Denver, CO (PRWeb) February 6, 2007 -- The Denver Fencing Center welcomes the 2007 Junior Olympics to
Colorado. The event, which is sponsored by the US Fencing Association, is free and open to the public. It will take place from February 16th to the 19th at the Denver Convention Center, Hall A. Eleven Denver Fencing Center Students have qualified for the competition, which will feature athletes from many NCAA fencing programs as well as several Olympic hopefuls.

CENTENNIAL, CO, February 11, 2007 - - Pop icon and artist Andy Warhol once said that in the future, everyone would be famous for fifteen minutes. The South Denver Fencing Academy, its coach, and several of its young fencers got their moment of fame recently when the sport of youth fencing was featured on the CW's News 2 at Nine.
