Karolos Papoulias, will be attending a ceremony at the Athens Concert Hall to mark the beginning of an international conference by the Athens Academy’s Center for Research into Greek Folk Art, to mark its 90th anniversary. </strong></p>
<p>The subject of the conference is <strong>"Traditional Music and Modern Creativity". </strong></p>
<p>Tomorrow afternoon, the President will be at the <strong>Panathenaic Stadium</strong> for the handing over of the <strong>Olympic Flame</strong> to the organizers of the Beijing Olympics.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p style="text-align:justify;margin:0 2.85pt;" class="MsoNormal"><span style="color:black;font-family:Arial;"><font size="2"><strong><img border="0" align="right" width="100" src="http://greeceinfo.wordpress.com/files/2008/03/dmytaras.jpg" height="113" />(ATHENS NEWS AGENCY)</strong> Painter Dimitris Mytaras was elected on Thursday as regular member of the Athens Academy. </font></span><span style="color:black;font-family:Arial;"><font size="2">Mytaras was born in 1934 in Halkida and after his secondary education he arrived in Athens to study at the School of Fine Arts. </font></span><span style="color:black;font-family:Arial;"><font size="2">During his studies he was awarded with two prizes. </font></span><span style="color:black;font-family:Arial;"><font size="2">After completing his studies at the School of Fine Arts in Athens, he received a scholarship which allowed him to study popular art in Mytilini. </font></span><span style="color:black;font-family:Arial;"><font size="2">He later received another scholarship and continued his studies at the School of Decorative Arts in Paris.<!--more--></font></span></p>
<p><span style="color:black;font-family:Arial;"><font size="2"></font></span></p>
<p style="text-align:justify;margin:0 2.85pt;" class="MsoNormal"><span style="color:black;font-family:Arial;"><font size="2">After his return to Athens from Paris, he became director of the Workshop of Internal Decorations at the Athenian Technological Institute of the Doxiadis Foundation. In 1977 he became professor of painting at the Athens Fine Arts School. </font></span></p>
