It's brilliant. The blog takes some rants and raves, voted for by Craigslist readers, and lays them out for your delectation. Some people out there are weird: scary-weird and funny-weird, all good to read.

You will find such gems as this: Facebook: I Love to Hate You

This is an update on the banker/25-year-old girl story. Earlier stuff here.

Apparently, though, Craigslist is the future, and a severe threat to newspapers. This blog shows us all why and how! Only not so much.

More highlights after the jump...

This is a delightful one: Women aren't attracted to men

It's rather well-written, for Craigslist, if a little bitter. Perhaps it's only when you get to "VALUE" in big capital letters, and then "A woman basically is a greedy materialistic prostitute," that you're kind of getting the gist of it. The author has been dumped recently. Aw diddums.

The stuff he says about the laydeez isn't all that kind, but if there was a dumping thing, perhaps we can forgive just this one time. After all, if you persevere, you'll happen upon this kernel of male wisdom at the end:

I'm completely unable to reconcile the differences between men and women. It seems like success with women is equal to spending half of your life working to create a giant illusion, something vastly tiring and annoying, while sacrificing your own true self and your own interests. We construct our lives around nest-building. We're like male birds building nests and showing them off to attract mates. It's pathetic. Everything we do is to get women. It is a fucking shit deal.

Get off Craigslist, go home to mummy.

PS: You need to get some hobbies, aside from the nest thing.

I like to see these two as bookends: guy that flashed me on i-90 and To the girl who flashed me while I was driving - m4w

Basically, when a dude flashes, it's creepy and scary. When a girl does it: "I'm almost certainly too old for you, but I think I could still have a meaningful relationship with your boobs." Draw your own conclusions.

Also, who goes through Craigslist looking for stuff addressed to them in this way, from these incidents? Fascinating how people have used the service as a chance to get things off their mind.

This is about mice; will make you feel better - hopefully - if you've ever had them.

This is about mutated sauce growling. It's great.

Oh, the men this lady met "off" Craigslist...

This is actually helpful. For the gents. I should think...?

This is the saddest.

Enough of this though, go, go, explore the blog of the week.

For some excellent use of a Craigslist ad, head over to Gawker.

Good news for those Londoners looking for an un-quiet weekend: Pete Doherty has escaped jail after admitted driving offences and possession of crack cocaine, heroin, ketamine and cannabis. He could be in a car near you tonight!

No news on whether he managed to fit the entire stash into that hat. However, LOTS of news on his four-month suspended sentence (it's this week's Kringe) in the papers today. He'll avoid jail if he's a good boy for the next two years.

Hm. Easy.

Much more than anyone wants to know, after the jump.

A quick guide to the mess:

Apparently, he's a musician

He is Kate Moss' "former paramour" (oh Telegraph, how I love you) - who knew?!

He was arrested back in May while driving a Jaguar in High Street Ken. At least he did it in style, and a salubrious part of town

He was fined £475 for the driving thing

He doesn't appear to have a new hairstyle - yet!

If you need more Doherty than that, here's a treat from today's Holy Moly mailout:

So Kate Moss and Pete Doherty are no more, and Kate is in a very loving relationship with new beau Jamie Hince.

Jamie used to be fond of swapping bodily fluids with Irina Lazareanu, who until recently was the fiancee of... Pete Doherty.

Irina dated Pete before Kate came along and stole her man, only resuming the relationship after the Moss dumped the tuneless tub of lard (keep up!).

Irina then took up with Jamie, until Kate came along and stole her man. Again.

Irina and Kate REALLY don't get on, but at least they're keeping the STDs in a controlled environment. Woe betide any fool getting swept into this sexual cesspit.

Niiice.

Try to have a good weekend. The images will eventually fade.

pete doherty

In the mood for a Friday fairytale children? Get comfortable. Okay, let's begin.

This is a heart-warming tale of an "articulate and classy" girl and her search for prince charming...

Question is: What would you do to get to "central park west"? Which I'm guessing means Dagenham or something in London terms, because $500k is going to get her nothing over here. £245k. Keep dreaming love.

A modern love story after the jump.

Reply to: pers-431649184@craigslist.org Date: 2007-09-25, 11:07AM EDT
What am I doing wrong?
Okay, I'm tired of beating around the bush. I'm a beautiful (spectacularly beautiful) 25 year old girl. I'm articulate and classy. I'm not from New York. I'm looking to get married to a guy who makes at least half a million a year. I know how that sounds, but keep in mind that a million a year is middle class in New York City, so I don't think I'm overreaching at all.

Are there any guys who make 500K or more on this board? Any wives? Could you send me some tips? I dated a business man who makes average around 200 - 250. But that's where I seem to hit a roadblock. 250,000 won't get me to central park west. I know a woman in my yoga class who was married to an investment banker and lives in Tribeca, and she's not as pretty as I am, nor is she a great genius. So what is she doing right? How do I get to her level?

Here are my questions specifically:

- Where do you single rich men hang out? Give me specifics- bars, restaurants, gyms

-What are you looking for in a mate? Be honest guys, you won't hurt my feelings

-Is there an age range I should be targeting (I'm 25)?

- Why are some of the women living lavish lifestyles on the upper east side so plain? I've seen really 'plain jane' boring types who have nothing to offer married to incredibly wealthy guys. I've seen drop dead gorgeous girls in singles bars in the east village. What's the story there?

- Jobs I should look out for? Everyone knows - lawyer, investment banker, doctor. How much do those guys really make? And where do they hang out? Where do the hedge fund guys hang out?

- How you decide marriage vs. just a girlfriend? I am looking for MARRIAGE ONLY

Please hold your insults - I'm putting myself out there in an honest way. Most beautiful women are superficial; at least I'm being up front about it. I wouldn't be searching for these kind of guys if I wasn't able to match them - in looks, culture, sophistication, and keeping a nice home and hearth.

Here's a banker's response too. It's sweet:

Your offer, from the prospective of a guy like me, is plain and simple a cr@ppy business deal. Here's why. Cutting through all the B.S., what you suggest is a simple trade: you bring your looks to the party and I bring my money. Fine, simple. But here's the rub, your looks will fade and my money will likely continue into perpetuity … in fact, it is very likely that my income increases but it is an absolute certainty that you won't be getting any more beautiful!

So, in economic terms you are a depreciating asset and I am an earning asset. Not only are you a depreciating asset, your depreciation accelerates! Let me explain, you're 25 now and will likely stay pretty hot for the next 5 years, but less so each year. Then the fade begins in earnest. By 35 stick a fork in you!

It's been big news: gaze upon the NY Daily News as they ask randoms what to make of all this.

e.g. Tracey Jollis, 23, an art student from Battery Park City, said the woman might get what she deserves. "Craigslist is not the best way to meet someone," Jollis said. "It's more about product and not about relationships, so maybe she belongs there."

(NY Daily News)

This is a nice reaction: "A doozy, isn't it? Okay, vent away!"

Friday Funday the last: Why are you people so keen on the mouse thing? The Blog Stats say you are!

KRINGE!
